The Best Mexican Food in Denver | Eater Denver

"Bubbling and brimming with everything from steak, shrimp, and longaniza to cheddar, cotija, and panela cheese to black beans, cactus, and chayote squash, the molcajetes are a must at this hopping Bonnie Brae haunt. But so are handsomely presented appetizers such as the tamari- and Sriracha-marinated tuna tostada and the flautitas de pollo drizzled in macha salsa and poblano crema atop guacamole — especially when paired with smashing cocktails like the Dulce Pesadilla, featuring goat cheese-washed Mexican gin, crème de cassis, fig, and lime." - Ruth Tobias

The 7 Best Mezcal Bars in the U.S.

"Denver may not come to mind when thinking of great agave bars, but Ni Tuyo is working hard to change that reputation. "I love this authentic Mexican restaurant run by owner Nathan Ayala-Schmidt," says Simmons. Where to Eat With a Group in Denver

"Opened in July by the family behind La Adelita Cocina y Cantina, this lively Mexican eatery and bar in Bonnie Brae already has a loyal following who make it feel like the neighborhood place to be as they gather around cocktails, appetizers like queso fundido and shrimp aguachile, and molcajetes brimming with goodies (take, for example, the Morisqueta featuring tomato- and garlic- braised pork ribs, black beans, rice, green onions, and two cheeses). Reservations for parties of six to 16 are a good idea, though walk-ins prepared for a possible wait are certainly welcome." - Ruth Tobias

Started with cocktails at Happy Hour which is ever day from 4-6pm. Had Tlacoyos, Ensalada Rostizada, and do not miss the Flautitas - never had anything like this before. The queso and chorizo was good but not worth the calories as there were so many other amazing items in the menu. Leah was our server and she was excellent! Can’t wait to go back.

Came here for a family birthday dinner. The service was great! Food was delicious. I would highly recommend the salsa trio, corn, and mole plate. Very delicious. We came in with a reservation right when they opened and the place was starting to get busy very quickly. If you can get a reservation ahead of time, I would do so. Seems like this place is always busy. Staff is very attentive. Food is pricey but worth it! For the area it’s in, the price makes sense.

Okay, I’m going to shoot you guys straight on this place. I think this is the type of restaurant you go to for the atmosphere, not so much for the value. I’d argue the drinks are marked up more than a lot of the local restaurants around here. Happy hour prices bring them down to where they should be. The appetizers were great. Flautitas and elote really set the pace for the meal. My gf and I got molcajete to share. Presentation is nice, but it’s honestly a bit difficult to manage. I also hate to be that guy but I’m gonna say it - for what you’re getting, it feels overpriced. Ours was 40+ dollars and you get 3oz chicken, 3oz of thin cut ribeye steak, and a small piece of sausage ( think 3 inch and slim Jim thickness). The green onions were raw and and cold in the center :/ Anyway, it wasn’t bad at all. Just a bit overpriced. You’re paying for an experience.

A great experience and have been back multiple times. The food is delicious and some of the better Mexican cuisine I’ve had in CO. This place gives just the right amount of casual enough that you can go with a friend but nice enough that it feels special. A great spot to take visitors who are coming in from out of town. Favorites are the horchata, Flautitas and tacos. Be aware the shrimp tacos last time came only with 1 piece of shrimp on it lol but it was still delicious. Also note that if you have celiacs this place is very accommodating and can handle GF needs.

This was my first time visiting this venue and was recommended by one of my board members. We arrived Sunday as soon as they opened just in case it would have been busy - we didn’t feel like waiting- their hours are on Sunday 4:00pm - 8:00pm. The restaurant is really clean but I almost tripped for the crack in the floor panel and when addressing the staff they said oh we have several spaces in the floor that are like that, mind you what’s gonna happen if someone trips and falls??? I ordered chicken enchiladas with a side of rice and black beans and since we were the second ones to arrive - the other party sat at the bar… my food should have been hot, as well as my husband’s but it wasn’t. The waitress didn’t say, oh let me take it back, she said I need to talk to the cook. Ok… I then heard her tell the cook about place and she said they would reheat it. 🤔. My husband ordered the steak fajitas and with a side of a cheese enchilada and a grilled onion and jalapeño peppers and tortillas. His cheese enchilada was cold but maybe they hadn’t thawed the premade meals out but it was very disappointing. For the pricing of the meals you’d desire and expectations would be a little higher but it’s so different than a food truck - you want flavor and hot but maybe next time or I might just stick To the wonderful world of food trucks and get fast service at a cheap price with lots of flavor.

Very rarely have I given 5 stars to a restaurant. This is one of those restaurants. The food is good, the service is good. Nathan, the owner, made us feel very comfortable. Brought out freebies. We were celebrating a wedding anniversary for our daughter, and he brought out Tres Leches. It's one of the best Tres Leches I have tasted. We ordered Flautitas, CHIPS + SALSA FLIGHT, QUESO FUNDIDO, ENSALADA ROSTIZADA and Vegetarian Molcajetes. All the items were good. Flight SALSA had 3 Salsas, Avocado lime salsa was excellent. Will highly recommend. Molcajetes was very filling. 1 Molcajetes is good for min of 2 people and even 3 if you order enough apps. Updated 7.31.25 : Went again after almost a year. Tried new items on the menu, like the Sorbe and the tortilla soup. Also of'course ordered the vegetarian Molcajetes. The Molcajetes for one did not have enough cheese, just 2 small pieces. Overall, we felt we did not get our money's worth. The food tasted good, the service was excellent. But thought we were paying a bit more.

I just dined here for the first time. The food was absolutely amazing. We started with tortilla soup and it was delicious. We had their signature Molcajete. It was the best thing I have ever tasted and there was enough for me to take home. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Nathan and Jewels provided the best customer service and everyone is so friendly and welcoming. The tortillas melted in my mouth. They were so good that I asked to take some home. You will not be disappointed at this restaurant. I highly recommend going as soon as possible! The Margaritas and other specialty drinks are superb. Dessert options are spectacular.

The flour tortillas were incredible! And the rest was good too. My only problem was I ate too much.

Yelp
Had dinner at Ni Tuyo this evening. Our second time to dine there. Food was very good. Server was excellent. Not sure what the 4% surcharge on the receipt marked "KLW" is about. Didn't see it until I got home. If it was on the menu, I didn't notice it. Couldn't find anything in the FAQs on the website. Not a huge deal but maybe a little more transparency for additional charges so there are no surprises?

Yelp
I was recommended this place by a coworker and was eager to try it myself. My bf & I went on a date on a Saturday night around 6 PM without a reservation and waited about 10-15 minutes to be seated. It was well worth it! We started with the tuna tostada, which were light and bursting with flavor. For the main course, we ordered the Cielo Mar y Tierra molcajete--OMG, it was incredible! The meat was so tender it melted in your mouth, and the smoky, flavorful shrimp were perfection. Their craft cocktails were also on another level, complementing the meal perfectly. Our server was excellent and enhanced our experience by offering thoughtful recommendations. This is a charming spot, perfect for celebrating any occasion with friends & family or simply enjoying great food. If you're looking for authentic Mexican food with a high-end touch, I can't recommend this place enough. Even if your wait is 40 minutes, it's worth every second--good places always have a line for a reason!

Yelp
Very tasty gourmet tacos and an amazing cocktail menu. And their tacos, they're FAT. They double wrap a pile a of meat in a standard, street taco-sized corn tortilla, but everything stays together really well and is pretty easy to eat (just a little messy). My favorite taco was surprisingly the carne asada, it was bursting with flavor. I'm not very enthusiastic about carne asada tacos generally, but theirs is probably one of the best I've had. They don't chop the asada into fine pieces like a normal carne asada taco, they give you a few thick slices instead. I really liked the habanero salsa on their pork belly tacos - very tasty and spicy. The pork belly was a bit dry though. I also really liked the shrimp tacos, very tasty and refreshing. Where we ran into an issue was with the birria tacos. Many of us got the birria tacos and all of us were spitting out chunks of fat. They also give you probably the saddest little bowl of consume you'll probably ever see to go alongside of it. The bowl of consume is so small, you can't even fit the taco in it to dip it in, and the bowl is half full on top of that. A big component of the Ni Tuyo experience is the cocktails. They have a really extensive cocktail menu where everything looks good. The menu is so tempting, it's hard to not try to run the gauntlet. The strength of the drinks I'd say is medium, so you won't need to be carried out of there if you do try a couple. It's very lively spot when it gets busy and the decor on the walls is very nice, which makes for nice ambience. The service is good but could be better. Mainly, I think they're really stingy with the napkins. When my hands were dripping after eating the tacos, I asked for more napkins and they literally just have me a single napkin instead of the pile I required. For a place like this, I also think their appetizer program could be stronger. We did the salsa trio, but only the standard red salsa stood out. And the queso was nothing special. The only other thing that I really saw stand out was the ceviche. Nevertheless, I do see myself returning to try more of their cocktails and give their recommend molcajetes a shot. I don't think you should expect anything you get here to absolutely blow you away, but they do set you up for a nice meal. Also, it's not cheap here so do keep that in mind.

Yelp
First time visiting Ni Tuyo. Absolutely loved it. The margs were delicious. The Fundido and the Elote were wonderful starts. 3 of us shared the Ni Tuyo MOLCAJETES. It was so good and there was plenty of good for 3. Our waitress was very attentive and personable. Overall very happy with our new find! We'll be back!!!

Yelp
Mkinsley and i stopped by this little joint after our mommy daughter day out (at the drag show). Be forewarned the chips and salsa is SPICY yet delish! According Mkinsley, the lemonade was "fire" and I know for a fact that the agua fresca quenched my thirst. While each of our tacos were quite messy, it was a mess worth making. The cherry on top to our lovely experience was the gentlemanly chef who held the door on our way out. chivalry isn't dead

Yelp
All I can say is, OMG! If you don't like flavor, spices, and delicious Mexican food, then don't go to Ni Tuyo. But if you do, the minute I took my first bite of the molcajete, both my partner and I gave each other the look. Our eyes both lite up impressed by the flavor it had. I didn't want to waste a drop of the salsa or the sauce. This was one of the dishes that I really wish my stomach was bigger so I could eat every bite of it. I have been raving about Ni Tuyo ever since, and have plans to bring my friends and loved ones to try it. Oh and a plus. Service was great!!

Yelp
I've been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally made it here! They do not take reservations so you wait in person for your table to be ready! Luckily, we got in around 8.20 pm on Friday evening which is a bit late for dinner but we got a table instantly. I got the papayita drink which was alright and my husband got the Paloma which was good. Our friend was visiting from India and had never tried mezcal, he tried the mahahali drink and that was really good! For apps we got the elote corn and guacamole - both were freshly made. I personally loved the elote corn. For mains we got the tacos - I loved the pork belly tacos, it was almost like the al pastor but better. Our friend is a vegetarian and got the Rajas which he loved. We also got the veggie enchiladas and the pollo main dish - they were both so well made. Overall, I liked the food here! I am glad we stopped by for dinner here.

Yelp
Elevated food and yet a welcoming, casual spot for dinner and/or drinks. I went here for a chill bday dinner with the fam. Here's a little reminder of how kids today are not like us: My 8 yo was not interested in any of the kid's menu offerings and requested for tacos off the regular menu! It was a pork belly and beef birria tacos for him. (Wow. Luckily, he finished every bit of it and was tempted us to order him a 3rd pork belly taco. We refrained and offered up more chips and guac to him.) My younger kid was fine with the quesadilla, but ended up bringing it home because she filled up on the chips and guac, which I have to admit was fantastic and fresh. We loved everything that came out along with the adult beverages. I think my husband's only minor complaint was the portion size of his very delicious chicken mole. Overall, a great spot and we can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Ni Tuyo was a last minute decision to enjoy some happy hour and avoid rush hour! I'm happy that we stopped in to experience this very popular restaurant! I would definitely like to come back to try some different items and the happy hour was enticing enough to draw me back in. My favorite item we tried was the Mariscos Molcajete that we split! It was quite the treat having so much seafood in a rich and delicate white whine sauce! It was a light and airy molcajete and I'm glad we experienced it. I wouldn't order the elote again. I think I was missing a more traditional taste with lime. But, I would be happy to try other appetizers next time. My Moscow mule was beautiful, the margarita was tasty. We all around had a good time, but would love to try different dishes to really drive it home for us.

Yelp
I give them more than 5 stars!! Blown away! The flavors here are stunning and crave-able! Of course we got some margaritas to start out the evening. Delish! We started with some chips and salsa and definitely there are my favorite chips I've had in Denver thus far. We also got the Elote dip and omg! It comes in like a butter broth and it's insane. Sop that up with some chips. Yum! We shared the NiTuyo Molcajete. This dish is completely out of this world. The broth is dynamite. This is definitely one of those places you want to recommend but you also want to keep secret. That good! Ended the night with Tres Leche cake. We were so stuffed and so happy! I will be a regular here! I also ordered some of their Red Pozole that's on special to take home. Bomb! Like damn so good! Service was on point and such a great vibe all night long!

Yelp
There's something so dramatic about a molcajete arriving bubbling hot on your table, and even better is when the meal actually tastes just as good as it looks. The dish is easily shareable by 2 to 3 people, so while it may be a pricier item on the menu, the size justifies the spend. The giant shrimp were cooked perfectly, and the sauce was delicious. If you are someone who likes a little bit of everything, I can't recommend a better dish on this menu. To share, we also got some chips, the salsa trio, and guacamole. The guacamole was fine, but none of the salsas were notable, they are just ok. To drink, I had a mezcalrita which I didn't really care for. It could have used a lot more citrus and it tasted a bit diluted. I had a sip of my partner's Oaxacan Old Fashioned though which was really tasty. This restaurant is located in a less central/commercial area of Denver so it's really easy to park and get seated walking in without a reservation. There was plenty of covered patio seating which was great to enjoy the weather, and the street isn't too loud. Our server was sweet and service was fast, even though we came on a weekend for dinner.

Yelp
Omg! Karina and n8 did great a job at this place first time here and I love it and James was wonderful I'm glad I try it everything was great loveeee the food and drinks on point made by James we love your drinks and your awesome services everything was amazing I can't wait to go back and get some more ceviche !!!

Yelp
This is the best upscale Mexican food I've had in a LONG time. I shouldn't have waited so long to try it. I'm praying that they do DoorDash because I'm going to want it constantly. As someone that's snobby about her tequila...the selections are amazzzing!!

Yelp
Had a really wonderful dinner at Ni Tuyo with the wife the other night. It's been on our "New Places We Gotta Check Out" list for quite a while, and we finally dropped in. We knew we needed to check it out ever since we found out it was owned by the same people as Adelitas. How can you lose? We dropped in on a half-full and still bustling Memorial Day Weekend Sunday and grabbed a few cocktails and settled in first with chips and guac. A couple of Mezcalritas were really wonderful, and then I switched to the Blood In the Waters and that was just fabulous as well. Chips were kinda one-note, but good - the guac was great! The addition of some seeds and fried corn nuts and red onion and red pepper really added some texture and crunch. I'm thankful their tomato addition to their guac was in the form of cherry tomatoes cut in half, rather than diced tomatoes laced throughout - It's a personal preference, but I just hate diced tomatoes in guac. For dinner we dove into the Cielo Mar y Terra Molcajete - they're known for their molcajetes - and were really really happy. Excellent sauce, they brought us some roasted jalapeños on the side to up the spice level, the meats were flavorful and cooked well, and there was a wonderful bit of cheese melted in, and some on the side. The flour tortillas were absolutely top notch. Really loved those. Lastly we finished our night off with possibly the best Tres Leches cake I've ever had. Perfectly moist cake, excellent milk flavor, wonderful setting of fruit around it. Just really fun, really good time. Good vibes, cool decor, great food. Super fun time and we're excited to go back!

Yelp
I was in Denver for an agency corporate meeting and the team was going to dinner. Mexican? Could there possibly be any better place than Las Vegas? I was suspect. The store is upscale and the bar was a buzz at 5:00pm on a Wednesday. Our group of eight people were seated right away. Three of us shared the Ni Tuyo Molcajete. A bubbling hot bowl of Ribeye steak, chicken, shrimps, longaniza, roasted tomatillo sauce, cactus, roasted onions, panela cheese, and corn (our choice) tortillas on the side. It was delicious! Our server offered us more sauce and tortillas. It was just enough for the three of us. We decided to share a slice of tres leches. The sponge cake soaked in three kinds of milk: evaporated milk, condensed milk, and whole milk. Garnished with a strawberry and blueberries on the side. Two of us dived in and left little for the rest of our crew. Haha! You lag you lose. A fine dinner!

Yelp
Ni Tuyo serves up delicious traditional Mexican food in a beautiful, bright setting -- with the best Mezcal selection I've seen in a long time! Ni Tuyo comes from the same family that brought you Denver's long-time favorite Adelita's -- so it's no surprise it's fantastic. With the help of Owner Nathan Ayala-Schmit, I tried mezcals I have never seen -- much less would have thought to order -- and they were some of the best spirits I've ever had. This is a spot I'll for sure come back to again and again! Daily happy hour 4-6pm and 9pm-close (both food & drink specials, including BOGO margaritas). Mezcal Wednesdays feature 1/2 off select mezcals or tequilas. The molcajete is a must-try, and comes in a variety of meat, seafood, or vegetarian options. It's been one of my favorite dishes for a long time, and in case you don't know what it is: it's a traditional Mexican dish served in a hot stone bowl and usually composed of salsa, cheese, onions, cactus, and a variety of meats. Also a must try: the tres leches created with their family recipe.

Yelp
All around good restaurant. I had three carne asada tacos. The meat was seasoned and cooked to perfection. Chips and salsa are not free, they are good, but nothing special. I ordered the "flight" which comes with a trio of salsas. All three were very tasty, but once again, nothing special. I would give the chicken tortilla soup a three out of five. A bit hardier than I'm used to with chicken tortilla soup, and I was not ecstatic about the flavor. Some will love this soup. I prefer a less dense broth. Service was very friendly, but my entree took a long time to come out. All in all I enjoyed my meal.

Yelp
We came back here on a recent Saturday evening at about 5 PM. The place was completely packed and we were told we'd have to wait for a table. It just kept getting more crowded. I think the happy hour had the effect of pulling people in between 4 PM to 6 PM. We loved the frijoles charros and shared a Cielo, mar y tierra molcajete that was fabulous. We also tried queso fresco enchiladas. Everything was wonderful. Ambience: Even though people were shoulder to shoulder at the entrance with as many as 30 people waiting for a table, we got a table sooner than expected and had good service from Elizabeth. There are a lot of different margaritas, but we found the house Margarita was actually the best, even though it wasn't as expensive as some of the others.

Yelp
Definitely a place I'd come back . All I had was their Happy hour (4pm-6pm) but that was enticing enough for me to want to come back for more. Our Server Adriana was the biggest sweet heart and gave us the best service. Get a Dos Angeles Blanco margarita it was incredible. Upscale casual great music playing through the restaurant.

Yelp
This place was a great find! I saw it on TikTok and decided to check it out. Let me start off by saying the service was amazing. Our waitress Adriana made us feel right at home. She was kind, friendly, and made us feel super comfortable asking questions and was so nice about splitting the bill. The restaurant itself was not too loud and it was very spacious. The food was delicious! I got a shrimp, carne asada and birria taco! While the birria wasn't like the birria I'm used to, it still tasted great! My favorite was definitely the shrimp though! They were cooked perfectly and not dry/rubbery! Parking was a little tough. There is a parking lot but it was busy when we showed up. The intersection there makes it a little tricky to be able to loop around, but the sides streets did have plenty of parking when we showed up at 6:50PM. It immediately filled up after that. We will definitely add this place to our rotation for dinners! Thank you, Adriana for being so great! Hope to see you again!

Yelp
The ambiance was lovely, nice amount of parking on site. Music perfect, not too loud. Margaritas were amazing, beautiful blend of flavors, not too sweet. Food was sooo delicious. My only complaint was that we felt super rushed by the wait staff. Our food came out really quickly, we hadn't even eaten half of our appetizers. Drinks took a long time to come out. If you enjoy a slower pace eating experience I recommend not ordering your main entree until you've finished your appetizer and are really ready for it.

Yelp
An absolute win! A few friends and I have a "tacos and tequila" group, where we hunt for the best in the Denver area. Last night we gave Ni Tuyo a try; it is now ranked #1 in our books I was the last of my party to arrive, and when I did, tequila shots with orange slices and mealworms were awaiting me. I'd never had this combo before and was curious. Honestly, it was pretty rad! A nice salty crunch atop citrus makes for a good pallet cleanser, apparently. Would definitely recommend giving it a whirl. We came during happy hour so I opted to take advantage of their BOGO margarita special (yummy and a good deal). We were also lucky enough to have Nathan stop by our table, where he had us sample some delicious tequila that only few establishments are able to procure. Talk about great luck and even greater service! And now... The tacos. I went with the Chicken Tinga and Rajas, both of which were divine. The size of the tortillas may be a little smaller than some spots but they are doubled up (no breakage here!) and packed with ingredients and flavor -- certainly well worth the money. I liked that the Tinga also had a lettuce wrap incorporated. Fun and unique. Overall, I have only glowing things to say about Ni Tuyo. I will certainly be coming back, and the fact they are biking distance makes it even better. Check 'em out!

Yelp
Was really looking forward to enjoying a girls night out with a friend and drinking a delicious margarita. Well the company was good but the marg tasted watered down. Our waitress seemed great and understood we wanted so time to chat/catch up so she informed us if we were ordering tacos they would come out fast so enjoy the drinks and app and take your time ordering. We appreciated the tip but also felt like she was trying g to go sell without being clear. We ordered the chips and salsa trio and she ask "queso or guacamole" so we understood it as included not if we also whited queso or guacamole. When she brought the queso we asked again and she clarified that is was extra. She we refused it because it was large and we didn't need it and we felt taken advantage of. The salsa trio was good. We ordered 2 tacos each which are very small tacos. I ordered 1 shrimp abs 1 beef taco which was perfect for me but we both felt that for $7 you would get at least 3 shrimp in the taco - it came with 2 small shrimp. Then it took forever to get out check. We tried waving people down and eventually were able to get out waitress. I had high hopes for this place but it was a real let down.

Yelp
Scrumpdillyicious! After a few days of helping our kids get settled into their Wash Park home, my wife and I were ready for cocktails and a good meal. Thanks to the Yelp community, we found our way to nearby Ni Tuyo. Our gracious server Maria M. quickly delivered margaritas--the first of two rounds--along with a flight of three salsas and heavenly chips. On her recommendation, we split the Ni Tuyo molcajetes, a enormous serving of steak, chicken, sausage, cactus, roasted onions and cheese in a gigantic mortar that kept the food piping hot throughout our entire meal. As much as we ate, we still carried away enough for a substantial midnight snack. Our only regret--no room for dessert! :(

Jen K.

Yelp
I recently went to Ni Tuyo to meet a friend for Happy Hour. The server was very attentive and available. She came by specifically several times to confirm our orders prior to the end of happy hour. The food was excellent - we had the chips and salsa (salsa rocked and chips were thin and freshly made) and tacos (excellent). I highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow, this place is decadent! After two nights have passed we are still talking about their molcajete. I cannot wait to go back. I suggest the apple cinnamon old fashioned if that fits your fancy. To top the night off...their tres leches is my favorite. The creamy cake with tasty frosty blends beautifully with the fresh fruits on top. Enjoy!

Yelp
Carne asada taco was delicious Pork belly taco used to be my favorite, but this evening it was so spicy, the only flavor I got was "hot." I couldn't taste anything else. My friend ordered a taco with shrimp on it and requested the crema on the side. It came so heavily doused that she couldn't eat it. She only ate the shrimp off the top. Her second taco was the chicken Tinga, which she loved. The chips are warm and crisp and fresh and the salsa is delicious. The aqua fresco melon flavor was sickly sweet and for $7, you're better off with a mocktail or something. Basically, we each thoroughly enjoyed HALF of our respective meals. And the chips and salsa.

Yelp
Amazing flavors and great service. Can get crazy busy--but absolutely worth the wait. And a real value. You can eat like a king for not much at all (the tortilla soup for $8 blows my mind--almost a meal unto itself). And the owner Nate is the most decent, passionate, engaged restaurant owner I've ever met (and he's a tequila sommelier. You WANT TO talk tequilas/mescals with this guy if you're passionate about it. Encyclopedic first-hand knowledge about many, many producers.) Love this place.

Yelp
You must order the MORISQUETA. Chips and salsa flight, too. Everything is delicious. Great service. Yummy cocktails. Ni Tuyo is one of my favorite restaurants in Denver (by far)!!

Yelp
The patio is a great place to sit on a nice summer evening. I had the strawberry margarita. I asked for sugar and got salt. We ordered the salsa flight. The light green salsa was the best. I ordered the pork belly tacos that tasted like regular pulled pork and was too spicy for my liking with the habanero salsa. The service was very slow and we never received a refill on our water. My least favorite was that they don't split checks but you tell them the amount of your portion of the check.

Yelp
Ni Tuyo is officially my favorite neighborhood hangout. This was my third time in, and the cocktails, food, and service were outstanding. It can get pretty busy, real quick and the positive energy from everyone enjoying their food makes the experience even better. I usually sit at the bar and have gotten to know Oscar and Ara. Two great bartenders who make a kick-ass margarita. The chips come to the table hot, and the salsa flight offers a variety of sauces. The avocado and lime salsa is basic, but it is hard to stop once you take a scoop. The other two were tomato based and also very delicious. I wish one of the salsas had a little more heat, but it's all good. The Elote (grilled Mexican street corn) is fantastic. One order is enough for two, but why stop at one order of this street food favorite? The combination of flavors, from melted butter to cotija cheese and chipotle mayo, take this dish to an over-the-top experience. Amazingly good! My other favorite is the black bean salad. Honestly, you probably would not catch me ordering this on a typical night, but I gave it a shot for some reason. Now I need it every time I come to Nu Tuyo. The light, refreshing flavors of the roasted corn, tomatoes, and avocado marry well with the black beans and onions.

Yelp
Didn't know that Ni Tuyo is owned by part of the family that has run another excellent and very popular Denver Mexican restaurant that's been around for decades--Adelitas down on South Broadway. Ni Tuyo means "not yours" in Spanish. The phrase isn't in any way mean-spirited. Rather in a good sense it means "this thing is neither yours nor mine because it belongs to all of us." These days when our communities are so fractured; when politicians and even regular folk have become used to seeing the differences instead of the similarities between all of us, I think that phrase is very beautiful. So many of us in America are incredibly lucky. We are blessed with loved ones. We live in a beautiful land in a special country that tries through our values and work to honor all people and not put a chosen group above others. When we fail we try to fix it. Sometimes it takes us a long time but the good part is that we really do try to fix it. A restaurant review (which I'll hopefully be getting back to quickly huh?) probably isn't the place for an exegesis on "Ni Tuyo" but the food and service there made me feel very fortunate. First you should know that while it may look like the prices are high, because of the quantity and quality of food you're given you can treat the place as if it serves family-style meals where you can share just about everything and still maybe end up with leftovers which they're happy to box up for you. We started with the guac and chips which I first thought were a bit pricey at $12. Turns out it was the largest amount of some of the best guacamole I've ever been served. We shared the serving and had to stop less than 1/2-way through or there would have been no room for the rest of the meal. The dish could easily have served 4 people as an app. Next came the ensalada de arugula that was ridiculously good, filled with fresh sliced strawberries, candied nuts, cotija cheese, red onions and more. Again, it could have been split by 4 people so at $13 or so it also was very reasonably priced. The piece de resistance was their most popular molcajete--the cielo de mariscos y tierra = their "surf and turf" pot. The best one I've had in the states. The result? More delicious leftovers added to the box. Too filled for dessert we left totally happy campers. Gotta give the place the 5 stars it deserves. They're knocking it out of the park at Ni Tuyo. Pretty soon it's going to be as jammed and as hard to get a table at as Adelitas. So get yourself on over there muy rapido mi amigos. Y... Salud, David M(ucha hambre)

Yelp
I fell madly in love with this restaurant. It was literally love at first bite. The presentation was a bit of a fanfare as I was looking at other tables, but after the meal I wanted more fanfare. The food is exquisite, the flavors explode in your mouth and keep you reaching excitedly for more and more food! I will definitely visit Denver more just to dine here.

Yelp
Yall. The molcajete alambres is the literal best thing I've ever eaten at a Mexican restaurant. Our server, Adriane, was incredible. The hostess was super sweet, the drinks were delicious. All in all wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow absolutely loved this place. We started out with the salsa flight figuring it wouldn't be anything special. We were all pretty blown away with how great all 3 salsas were. We then got the cielo mar y tierra which is the chicken, steak, and shrimp. Also tried the morisqueta which is the pork ribs- both were incredible!! We split this between 5 people and it was plenty of food. Their tortillas tasted homemade which I feel like I don't find at many places. Our drinks and service were great too. We will definitely be back here what a great new addition to Bonnie Brae.

Yelp
My new favorite restaurant, and I don't take that lightly. Chips and salsa - fresh warm chips, and THREE amazing salsas. I like to dip one chip in all three, it's how I do it. The bright green is an avocado base, but not to be confused with guacamole. The tomatillo was tangy and delicious, and the pico was classic in all the right ways. THE queso - you gotta mix it before eating. Flavors of green chile are not overpowering, overall a really great queso ** special note about the tortillas, not sure if they were made in house, but they were amazing! Short rib Molcajete - flavorful, fun, bubble and pretty to look at. The ribs themselves were cooked perfectly and fell right off the bone, and the rice and beans inside were delicious. You can eat it with a spoon, dip chips in, or make little burritos like I did. The drinks - sophisticated cocktails that go beyond margaritas. This place would be perfect for just drinks, really you can't go wrong with anything. Tres Leches - eighth generation recipe, and arguable the best thing I've ever put in my mouth. It's just...you have to get it. Ni Tuyo, I will be back time and time again.

Yelp
On a Saturday evening, the restaurant was busy and hopping. It had a fun atmosphere. The food was all good. We ordered the guac and the chips were warm and fresh. The tacos were good, esp the pork belly. The dishes served in the piping hot pots were unique and tasty enough. They were pricey though. Our server was very pleasant. I was turned off because she made an error in serving us virgin drinks (we wanted the drinks normal- with alcohol). I was looking forward to trying mezcal, knowing this restaurant specialized in Mezcals. She corrected this on the tab at the end of our meal, but I feel our drinks should have been comped due to her error. It was busy but there were a few errors in service that night and they were not polished enough to comp the mistakes. Everything added up and it wound up being a pricey meal. I did not feel it was worth a return on my end for the money. I also find it a turn off when service makes an error and just says "sorry". She should have comped the drinks or came out with non virgin drinks...

Yelp
I know this place just opened but man do they have it all figured out! There was a big group of us and we all had an amazing meal with excellent customer service. The Queso Fundido was other worldly, I'm still dreaming about it. The Aguachile (shrimp, cucumber, jicama) was super unique and refreshing. I only had one taco - the pork belly - but WOW was it delicious. Such good quality meat! We tried three of the Molcajetes: Cielo Mar y Tierra, Short Ribs, and Mariscos. The muscles in the Mariscos were insane, but it is spicy so keep that in mind. The Cielo Mar y Tierra was definitely my fav and it had a ton of variety. They come out still boiling so be careful to not burn your tongue. We also had the tres leches, sopapillas, and flan. All were great, but sopapillas and vanilla ice cream will always have my heart.

Yelp
Have eaten here a few times. Very much enjoy the neighborhoody, upscale Mexican ambiance. The staff is always very friendly and the food is delicious. I just ordered takeout enchiladas tonight and they were almost as good as they are dining in. Inspired me to leave a review. Can't wait to go back soon.

Yelp
Service was excellent and the food was amazing! We were a large party and they accommodated us easily. Our server was attentive and friendly. The pork belly and asada tacos were probably some of the best I've had in a while. I also enjoyed their mock tails. Will definitely be back next time I visit!

Yelp
Everything we ordered was amazing, a little pricey but I don't mind when the food is that good. Parking is tight but street parking nearby. Service was a little slow but it was a holiday weekend. Food was legit awesome.

Yelp
This is the best new spot in Denver! Really well run restaurant when we went it was super busy but the staff handled it really well. Our food came out at the perfect times and our server was always there when we needed something. We started with the happy hour margaritas and I was impressed by how good it was for such a reasonable price! Next we ordered a round of appetizers my favorites were the Tlacoyos fried bread topped with black beans and cheese omg sooo good! The frijoles charros we're also delicious make sure to eat it quick so you have that nice crunch with every bite! The star of the meal was the pork Molcajete absolutely amazing with charred pork ribs, cheese and the sauce had so much flavor! Every bite was a treat! We finished the meal with a delicious tres leches cake!

Yelp
Ni Tuyo Visited the place again on Saturday night 04/20 with some friends. I believe this was our fifth time returning since January 2024 this place is definitely our favorite and now our friends favorite. Consistently good food great drinks, awesome atmosphere and this last time our waitress Leah was over the top , one of the best waitresses we have ever had. Do yourself a favor and try this place your taste buds will thank you.

Yelp
I have never, ever been motivated to write yelp before. I dine out plenty. The food was decent, albeit not cheap. The spice was excellent. Although definitely worthy of a chaser. Having waited 15 minutes for my 2nd beer, half my dinner got cold. I got up, went to the bar and found our server chatting with an employee. Who was behind the bar. I expressed that my food was spicy and I wanted a chaser to finish my meal with. She came back to our table and concocted a poor excuse that she was waiting for a keg to be changed out. All 4 of us customers ordered different beverages. I told her. We don't need any excuses, just go get the beer. She said don't get mad at me. I'm just the messenger. I gestured for her to just go away. She was the poorest quality server; I have encoutered in years, deserving of my YELP!
