The 10 Best Po’Boys In New Orleans

"There are a ton of options at this spot in the French Quarter, but the best sandwiches are hot sausage, fried shrimp, fried catfish, and fried soft shell crab. Go with the regular spicy heat level—it won’t get you sweating, but it’ll be seasoned perfectly as any good po’boy should be. The location is on a quieter stretch of Bourbon Street, so it’s a nice place to sit and admire the countless New Orleans concert posters while you tear through the crusty loaf. Always order a Barq’s root beer in a glass bottle." - megan braden perry

Where To Eat & Drink During Mardi Gras 2024

"Much like gumbo and red beans and rice, po’boys in New Orleans are sacred, especially when you’re looking for the best one during Mardi Gras. Thankfully, this spot in the French Quarter gets them right. There are a ton of options, but the best sandwiches are hot sausage, fried shrimp, fried catfish, and fried soft shell crab. And always go with the regular spicy heat level—it won’t get you sweating, but it’ll be seasoned perfectly as any good po’boy should be. Food here was wonderful. I'd never had Gumbo before. After I finished i wished I'd bought a bigger bowl. My son got chicken strips and fries. The chicken strip breading is SO tasty. My husband got the PoBoy Roast Beef and said it was great! We got Alligator balls. Those were ok. I like the breading flavor. Give it a try. Its not a fancy place. But those are usually the best places!

Google
Great surf & turf poboy! It didn’t completely blow my mind compared to other food I had in town, but it was still good. I ordered the 12 inch which was $22. I ate half then saved the other half for later. I think the shrimp was delicious but the meat part was alright. I think I would come back here and just get the shrimp poboy! Service here was standard!

We visited this establishment three years ago during Easter, and we came back to relive the same unforgettable flavors we experienced the first time. This place never disappoints. On this visit, we discovered even more indoor seating, surrounded by beautiful and unique memorabilia—definitely worth mentioning and photographing. The staff is amazing and patient, especially for those who need a moment to decide from the many delicious options. The po’boys are some of the best we’ve had, and the salads are great too. If you find yourself on Bourbon Street, in the heart of the French Quarter, stop by and treat yourself to a little snack—or a full 16-inch po’boy! Bon appétit!

Google
Really tasty food, loved the flavors! Only thing was it got a bit soggy—maybe ease up on the gravy or keep it on the side next time. Would definitely order again though!

Google
New Orleans is known for its legit PoBoys. Was on Bourbon Street looking to grab lunch and saw NOLA PoBoys. Great selection. It was recommended I grab the Roast Beef PoBoy, which I ordered as well as a bowl of Gumbo. Sandwich was tasty, bread was perfect. Gumbo had nice roux and also very tasty. There are two dining areas: up front when you enter the restaurant as well as in the rear. Was able to grab a booth so I was able to relax while enjoying my lunch.

Google
Last dinner in NOLA we had to get the Poboys. We had a 8-inch fried oyster and a 2-soft shell crabs one. I personally loved the fried oysters one sooo much. Both are great but ohh my...fried oysters are my all time favorite!

Google
I love this place! The personnel is so nice! We took our time to look at the menu as there were so many dishes we wanted to try, and she was so nice about it. We ended up with the oyster Po Boys and a crawfish pie which were both very tasty! Place to go if you want a good and decent price Po Boy

Google
The sweet older man at the register was so nice and fun! We were recommend here by a few locals who we befriended at Lafittes. We asked where to go to get good food and they said here! I got the "who dat" which is a shrimp poboy with bisque, fries and gator balls. And it was all so delcious! The stop itself is nicely decorated, lots of food options to choose from, and lots of drink options. This is definitely an amazing little place to stop by and grab and declious sandwich! Portions are large and very much worth the money.

Yelp
The location on the corner of Bourbon and Dumaine means that this spot is easy to find and long lines form quickly throughout the night. I avoided poboys because I always thought of them as seafood sandwiches. Hearing there were other options had me stopping in to give it a try. The menu is extensive but it boils down to the type of meat you want and whether it's a cold cut or hot sandwich. Half the menu has seafood and that's off the table for me, so I debated between the chicken and roast beef. I went wild this time and got the roast beef. All the sandwiches come with pickles, lettuce, and mayo. That's pretty safe for me and I loved that they cured and prepped their meat on site. I bit into my sandwich and was shocked to learn the meat had been slathered in gravy. I'm not a gravy person. It wasn't off-putting but it surprised me. I wondered if there had been an option to order a dry sandwich but I think the gravy is what makes it a poboy. It was an experience and I would return to order the chicken and check on the gravy options.

Yelp
Quaint little local spot! The guy at the register was very helpful. When you walk up, don't be afraid! Haha it's on Bourbon and it's real NOLA-ish! All the fried food is spicy but there is a "Yankee" option to make it mild. There are a few things you can get grilled or blackened. Oh and the bottle sodas have cane sugar and not the usual fructose stuff. The taste is very different. There is no table service. You order, you sit and they bring it to you. No drink refills. All drinks are bottled, water included. Good jazz music playing on the old school receiver on the wall. I like this spot. We'll return! Oh they sale old school candy like Boston baked beans, lemon heads and whatchamacallit candy bars at the register.

Yelp
AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT AT ALL COSTS!! Want a Poboy you're better off going to Parkway Bakery & Tavern! Worst customer service I've ever experienced in New Orleans! Young lady up front has absolutely no manners and doesn't even know what's going on but expected a $60 dollar tip from a $130 check. I had left a $20 tip. After I refuse she told me to leave and I asked for a VOID TRANSACTION. She started screaming uncontrollably. It took 5 people plus owner on the phone to VOID a transaction. PLEASE train your staff to do simple things. Manager which looked also like kitchen manager came out calmly super nice to ask what was going on. But after that there was no way I was going to stay nor will I ever recommend anyone. Only walked to this establishment since the young man we were with recommended it to us and since part of the group hasn't tried the infamous Poboys; we decided to try, why not!
google avatar

Vicki T.

Yelp
No AC. Hard to get a table as it is first come first serve. Dirty. Slow and bad service. The wait was soo long that I ended up asking for a refund after I saw several other customers asking for it too. Cash only.
google avatar

Yelp
I cannot come to NOLA and leave without eating a shrimp poboy. This is my second time going to NOLA Poboys, and it is consistent in meeting my poboy desires. The decor is quintessential New Orleans. Paintings on old doors, writing on to go boxes, hand made/hand painted everything--it is a visual NOLA feast! The poboy and salad were excellent, especially adding more Cajun seasoning on top. The service was good overall. The staff wasn't overly friendly, but it may have been because of the rain. Since most of the bars on Bourbon Street don't offer food, this is the place to go when you need something delicious and quick with all the Cajun flavors you want!

Yelp
Easy access, great service, lots of seating on Bourbon Street. The ambiance is casual and welcoming. The food was good. I liked the fried okra and my husband enjoyed the sauce combo the waitress suggested.
google avatar

Yelp
Spent much time perusing Reddit where locals love to bash tourist restaurants and even occasionally claiming that Yelp is rigged. But a 5+ hour flight delay on 3-day trip has a way of altering food schedules, hence NOLA Poboys. The vibe is less Times Square-ish than I was led to believe. The wall and ceiling memorabilia includes an old ad for a Pylon concert; that has to count for something. The fried shrimp was dusted in spices and meticulously prepared. The crawfish pie was essentially an empanada. Various permutations like shrimp with roast beef debris are available.

Yelp
We stopped in here randomly on a rush to make it to get food before our ghost tour. There are 13 of us, and we were in and out in the hour we needed to be. The owner came and spoke to us and was very friendly. I was there on my bachelorette trip and he was very sweet in letting me know his shops secret. The bisque was very flavorful, and filling with lots of little crawfish and shrimp. The debris fries were just perfect. I got the cheese on the side (don't like cheese). Our entire group has learned we wished they had debris fries, sandwiches etc in Georgia! Great stop for great food!
google avatar

Gloria A.

Yelp
Friendly. Bread good. Had fried cat fish, afraid they'd bread the oysters too much like they seem to do in NOLA. Very good-- comes with tomatoes, pickles and mayo, perfect combo and crunch. 2 more small rooms with seats in the back. On a quiet part of bourbon without all the ridiculousness.
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down the best seafood gumbo & po boy I've ever had! I'm originally from Houston and traveled to NOLA to eat good Cajun food. The service as quick and easy. They also have really good fried oysters Poboy which I forgot to take a photo of. Everything was so full of flavor and well seasoned. I'm pretty particular with my gumbo and this was definitely a winner winner!!!! The Poboys had a perfect ratio of bread, protein, and veggies. I would definitely come back. Love the NOLA type of cafe vibes with plenty of seating. The restrooms were kept pretty clean too. After a few drinks on Bourbon Street, this is definitely the spot to eat and sober up!
google avatar

Chanelle N.

Yelp
Customer service was amazing here while I was queued up in line a worker was talking to someone in front of me and recommending food! I had to get some of that so she told me her favorites and first timers' favorites. The cashier lady was also nice and patient despite having a rowdy full house. I loved the gumbo! The boudin balls were good as well. The fried alligator was rather chewy and the bread was hard to tear but I think that's the charm of a po-bo. I would recommend this place if it's your vicinity :)
google avatar

Shanice G.

Yelp
Perfect late night stop for some classic poboys, Nola bites. The shrimp was fried perfectly and I loved the spice in the batter. That with some Louisiana hot sauce hit differently. No frills eatery, you order, sit down and they bring your food out calling your name. I recommend if you're looking for a quick solid meal on bourbon
google avatar

Kevin S.

Yelp
This place is pretty deep into bourbon street but well worth it. Came here for lunch. I will say it can get pretty hot and you might be sweating by the time you get to the po boy shop. It's also pretty hot inside without much circulation but I think that's part of the experience. I won't go into much about the shop because the food is my only concern. Reasonable price with a fantastically made po boy. I honestly could've had two. They do a lot of different types as well so it probably would be smart to do two smaller ones to try different things. Noticed a lot of tour guides walking in here which made me doubt myself and wonder if I was falling into a tourist trap but honestly the food was so good here I think this place is legit. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're on the hunt for a poboy!
google avatar

Ashley C.

Yelp
Worth the wait. Extra tables in the back even though when you walk in, you won't be able to see that. Very very busy on bourbon st but so good, and the gumbo was smackin
google avatar

Whisper W.

Yelp
NOLA Poboys was fantastic! Their seasoning is spicy so be aware of that. We got the crawfish Poboy and alligator balls to share. The bread was crispy on the outside and the perfect amount of softness for a good chew on the inside. It is counter service and there is a bit of a line depending on the time you arrive. Worth the wait!

Yelp
We were in NOLA for a long weekend and I've been searching for the best Po Boy. My first two visits were a strikeout. Luckily we walked by around lunchtime and stumbled onto NOLA. Not sure if they're the owners, managers or just in charge but the older gentleman running the shop was awesome. He's very personable and I noticed his much younger employees followed his suit. He was helpful and had a great friendly banter. Now to the food. My wife ordered the 1/2 muffuletta and I had the "small" 8" shrimp PoBoy. You order at the counter than one of the young men there brings it to your table. Wow they looked amazing when brought to the table. Very fresh and couldn't wait for the first bite. Well worth the wait, which wasn't long. My PoBoy was super good and the shrimp was awesome. Whatever said they use was great. That muffuletta was scrumptious too! Plenty of tables to sit at too. They have a front and back dining area.
google avatar

Nathan S.

Yelp
Definitely some of the best po boys in town. In the heart of the French quarter, but it's not a tourist trap. Mainly locals in here and no lines which is a plus for eateries in this area. I got the oyster and shrimp po boy, the longest size and it was absolutely immaculate. Plenty of flavour and way too many calories lol. All the sandwiches come spicy so be aware of that. For me who likes hot food I didn't think it was anything crazy, but keep it in mind for sure. The remoulade is an amazing compliment as well. Additionally, got the boudin balls which were great. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Anita C.

Yelp
Best poboy in NOLA. We always get their shrimp poboy on fresh bread. We ask for it yankee style because their regular batter is spicy! Also things are spicier in the morning. You can even get your shrimp coated in gumbo or etoufee! So good. They have muffalettas, snow balls, and so many other things but we come here solely for the poboy. Their line gets long so get there when it opens or be patient because it's worth the wait. Workers are friendly. They have seating in the front and even in the back. They taste amazing at 12:30am.
google avatar

Jenny L.

Yelp
Came here at opening and we were already the second people to order. Fun interior with so much to look at. The person helping us order was upbeat and you can tell he enjoyed where he worked. We wanted to try alligator balls, fried okra, and a poboy. My favorite was the fried okra, seasoned just right and just so yummy to eat. Poboy was good too, but hard to eat with our lettuce falling out. I liked the tomato adding that freshness to the bite in the sandwich. Our first time trying alligator, but we liked it. It came with a sauce for dipping which was nice too. Overall, we liked everything we got to try. If we ever get a chance to visit again, we will come by to try more of their menu since they have so much to offer.
google avatar

Jenai B.

Yelp
I usually love NOLA poboy, but this time I wasn't as impressed. Prices have seem to gone up (which is expected), however the portions have gone down. The poboys we got were lackluster in the amount of shrimp, fish, and who dat bisque. Flavor is always there, just missing the bang for the buck. They also took an extremely long time even though it wasn't many people. Order: 2 shrimp poboys, a catfish poboy, 10$ cup of gumbo, debris fries, and an extra side of fries. I would still come back. Hoping that maybe today was just a fluke.
google avatar

Sonya L.

Yelp
Busy at night. We found tables in the back to sit at. Got red beans and rice and sausage and chicken gumbo. Both items were good. Shared the items so we got the "large" portions. We liked the red beans and rice better, it had good seasoning and the texture was good. We did enjoy the gumbo too though.
google avatar

Dana K.

Yelp
We discovered Nola Poboys before we headed to the airport home. If it'd been one of the days prior we would have returned during this visit - definitely one of our favorites. Fun space/atmosphere with friendly service. Food was delicious and well priced. The muffuletta and fried shrimp poboys were the standouts. So much more on the menu that I wanted to try though. Add to your New Orleans restaurant choices.
google avatar

Sheila M.

Yelp
Great food and decor for a fair price. Lots of local options but explained for tourists.
google avatar

Athena B.

Yelp
So this restaurant, wasn't even on my radar!! Until one night we met some people, and they could not stop talking about it!! So we decided to try it! I chose the fried shrimp and my husband got the fried shrimp Cajun style!! Both of them were insanely good! The bread was so fresh, the veggies were also very fresh, and the shrimp was cooked to perfection!! They have a menu of probably 25 different sandwiches! So there's so many to choose from! Enjoy!
google avatar

Jake H.

Yelp
Surprisingly, some of the best food in the French Quarter. The fries and the bread are fantastic Super casual and easy yet fun. The owner was a super nice guy and enjoyed to talk to. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting.
google avatar

Seema Z.

Yelp
This was our lunch spot between nola walking tours and sightseeing. It's right on bourbon street and has ample seating indoors. The food although was average. I wanted to like thr shrimp po boys but the breading didn't taste crisp or fresh. Same problem with the fried okra. Wasnt crunchy enough. The grilled chicken was way better.

Janae W.

Yelp
Service was quick, got there shortly after they just opened. Got the catfish po'boy and it was absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Jaq D.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended to me by a local tour guide and it was the perfect end to my day! I really wanted an oyster poboy and this place hit the spot. I had mine "Yankee style" because I can be wimp when it comes to spicy food. The oysters were fresh, sweet and fried to perfection. Nice crispy bits without being greasy. The roll had a light crisp on the outside and was soft and fluffy on the inside. The perfect roll. The lettuce, pickles and tomato helped cut the richness of the fried oyster. There is great people watching if you can get a seat looking out on the streets. While the restaurant lacks in ambiance the food more than makes up for it!
google avatar

Kimberly K.

Yelp
The service was great. The young lady behind the counter made some good suggestions. We split a 12 inch fried oyster Poboy and order of Boudin balls. The Poboy was huge and could easily feed 2 to 3 people. Boudin balls weren't the huge ones but it came 6 to an order so definitely shareable. I loved the spicy Cajun dipping sauce that came with it. Everything was hot and fresh and we finished every bite. NOLA Poboys was a solid choice for late night dining in the French Quarter without breaking the bank.
google avatar

Scott S.

Yelp
My Daughters said we had to go here and so glad that we did. It's old school and awesome.we started with an oyster basket with fries. Delicious and huge. Really can taste the freshness. I wanted Boudin balls so we got 3 and damn yummy. Then we turned to Po boys. The girls got shrimp and I gut crawfish and they were outstanding. Every bite heavenly and we left stuffed. The place is really charming and I'd go back right now. Next time I'm in NOLA I am there. You should try it.
google avatar

Mandy L.

Yelp
Pros: - Unique, quirky vibes - Ample seating in the back Cons: - While it might be an unpopular opinion, the poboys tend to be dry unless you go for the roast beef option, which comes generously slathered in sauce - The fried okra, unfortunately, lacks flavor, disappointing given how great okra can be - Single-stall bathroom - Long lines with a rather slow-moving pace
google avatar

Chelsea C.

Yelp
Excellent Po Boy.... Nice, soft warm bread, crisp, lettuce, adequate condiments, shrimp, perfectly coated, and fried. We also tried the muffaletta, which was also excellent! The half is easily big enough for two !
google avatar

Taifha B.

Yelp
I've been to New Orleans a couple of times and had some really good poboys. Or at least, I thought I had. And then I visited NOLA Poboys and immediately questioned everything I thought I knew about poboys. Don't let the calm exterior and deli appearance fool you, this is THE place for a shrimp poboy or a fried chicken poboy or an alligator bites poboy - if you're into that sorta thing! To get your little slice of heaven, you order at the counter and choose from a bun (not a poboy), 8 inch or 12 inch poboy. Once you order, you wait for your food to be brought out to you. And boy did they deliver! The shrimp poboy was STUFFED with crispy, seasoned shrimp and had a slight heat to it that hit you in the back of your throat. It was perfection! The bread was the perfect blend of crusty and soft. Everything was so delicious! I can't wait to get back to NOLA poboys soon!
google avatar

Emily L.

Yelp
Holy yum. I have no words other than delicious!! This was an exceptional sandwich, and we also got friend Cora too! Which was also absolutely delicious! Quick walk-up service and lots of choices, and a lot of seating. I wish I had more pictures of the rooms to sit in, they were so decorated and I loved the variety of seating areas. It was wonderful!!
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
Sade was h great!!! Not gonna lie, we had tooooo much to drink in the quarter. She was so gracious in dealing with our intoxicatedness. This place is where we will come and intoxicated too much. Thank you for taking care off us. H
google avatar

Fawn T.

Yelp
While visiting NOLA was on the hunt for a great pony spot and found this gem! A lot Of great options, freshly made and the bread was tasty! I had the shrimp poboy and it delivered. Definitely would come back.
google avatar

Kristine J.

Yelp
i have been here before and so glad i came back. it was just how i remembered it, delicious! got there around 1130ish and there was already a line but not bad! you order first at the register then can sit down on the tables. i always get their fried shrimp poboy. so good! i was eating this on the plane back home so decided just on regular spicy. the shrimp comes out crunchy, but not dry in the inside. it was so good! the bread is sooooo soft. they put so much shrimp! next time im back in nola, this will be my first stop for poboys!
google avatar

Embra B.

Yelp
8" Fried Catfish was not bad. To me it lack a little of flavor, but i liked the crispness of the fried catfish. It was not as spicy as I thought it would be. Busy location and friendly staff.
google avatar

Chelsea A.

Yelp
Vegetarians: I recommend getting a veggie poboy instead of the vegetarian muffuletta only because the muffuletta is very salty so it's difficult to eat the whole thing. (: Everything we ordered was delicious though!
google avatar

Monique L.

Yelp
Let me just saw this was my favorite place to eat in NOLA. Let's start with the service... OMG. Outstanding!!! The friendliest staff that just makes you feel like you're home! Please try their muffaletta. It was insanely delicious. Also MASSIVE. We got the half and we couldn't even finish it (4 of us shared it!). The chicken andouille gumbo was phenomenal!! The best we had in NOLA. It had sooo much flavor and massive pieces of the sausage! The cheese fries were fire. Soooo much cheese sauce with so much flavor. Lastly, the shrimp po boy... talk about a great kick with lots of flavor! This food was phenomenal that was served in massive portions for such a great price! Highly recommend swinging by here any time of day, but especially after a night partying in bourbon street.

Yelp
We had to check off po' boys during our vacation and hit rush spot up again after visiting in 2019. My heart wanted a shrimp po' boy but because I often make those at home, I got a roast beef while my bf got alligator. I think we arrived right at the lunch rush because it took about 15 minutes for us to get our meals. The roast beef was actually too rich for my tastes and I didn't finish the whole thing (small size). I can see how fried versions might be better with all of the fixins, as I missed the remoulade and crisp lettuce combo of a shrimp version, but it was good. Just not something I'd get again. My bf enjoyed his po boy but said the alligator balls weren't anything special. As far as ambiance, there's a lot of booths up front for seating and there's also an area in the back. Very low key spot to grab lunch or a snack (they have a pretty big menu).
google avatar

Larry L.

Yelp
Wow, the Muffaletta at Nola Poboys was amazing. Best version I've ever had. Bread was toasted perfectly, melted cheese complemented everything else, Italian Meats were flavorful and generous, green olives had the perfect balance of crunch and brininess without being too salty. I also had the Shrimp Poboy which was great too, but definitely wished I ordered the whole Muffaletta instead of half. I'm definitely returning to this place next time I'm in NOLA in French Quarter.
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Our nightly spirit tour guide recommended we check out this place for late night food and it certainly did not disappoint! We swung into this spot on a Monday night when most places were already closed, and got the debris French fries and the debris po boy. I cannot accurately express how tender the meat was, or how flavorful. I personally enjoy a little bit of salty foods, and the crispy French fries were hot and fresh, with the savory beef was incredible. I personally could do without the cheese sauce, but it was still delicious. The po boy was equally Wonderful. Tender, the bread fresh with the right crunch but pillowy inside that, I am sad I only went there once!
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
One the best places in bourbon street to get some of the best Cajun sandwiches. The sandwiches are enriched with perfectly fried seafood with requested spices levels and the spices in their batter hits hard. A great place to go for a simple and quick meal. The service is super friendly, fast, and they have plenty of room and tables to seat decent size parties. Definitely recommend coming with an appetite cause the food is decently portioned and heavy. A definite recommend.
google avatar

Keith N.

Yelp
There are so many Po Boy places in New Orleans, and I think there are plenty of good ones, but someone recommended Nola Po Boys to me on a recent trip, and I'm glad they did. This place has about every kind of Po Boy sandwich you'd want, shrimp, roast beef, oyster, pot roast, and so many more. Plus they have muffuletta sandwiches and sides, and sno cones. We ordered the traditional muffuletta sandwich and a pot roast Po Boy, and I must say, they were both excellent, but that pot roast Po Boy was absolutely amazing, the pot roast was perfect, and so was the bread, I'd say if you have to pick one you can't go wrong with this one. The sandwich is dressed simply with lettuce, mayo, and tomato, damn it was good. The place was small and was a total French quarter establishment, old, charming in a way, but looked like it might fall over at any minute. The staff was super friendly and very fast. I wish I could have tried more is my only regret, 4.5 stars.
google avatar

Jose T.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick early lunch before exploring French Quarter, everyone was surprisingly pleased with what everyone got, Fried Chicken (Tenders) was great as well as their Alligator Bites and Crawfish Pie and the Muffuletta sandwich is Massive!

Yelp
No frills Po Boy shop with tons of options. I'm a fan of fried seafood in my Po Boys since the richness is offset nicely with the veggies and bread. Much prefer that to a heavy fried seafood platter, since the Po Boy leaves you feeling full yet not nasty. Fried Shrimp Po Boy: Exactly what I was hoping for in a Po Boy. Flavorful and warm crispy fried shrimp with a little spicy kick. Lots of fresh veggie contrast with lettuce shreds, tomatoes and pickles. Set against a chewy and crusty bread. With just enough mayonnaise to lubricate the sandwich, without overwhelming it. The balance of flavors and textures were just perfect. Cold Roast Beef Po Beef: On the positive side, the roast beef tasted like they made it there rather than using some random national deli brand. It had that homecooked taste, but sliced a lot thinner than one can do at home. Also, seemed to have some nice spices rubbed on the edges of the meat. However, despite popularity amongst Yelp reviewers, it didn't quite work for me in Po Boy form. Would have been awesome in a more sub-like form with cheese, onions and more ingredients. But as a Po Boy the roast beef just didn't have the flavor helpers it needed.

Yelp
Stopped by here on our trip this weekend. We were staying at the best little bnb not far from here and of course went on Yelp to find food. We saw this place very ideally located with lots of options for everyone including the vegetarians in the group. ***ATMOSPHERE*** Crowded but it was clearly because this place is delicious. The line was pretty long, but when we got there people in the line told us that it moves quickly. Also it seemed there weren't toooo many restaurants in the area, mainly bars, so we waited and it was worth it. There was some seating in front, but more in the back. We didn't have trouble getting a spot. The vibe is very hole-in-the wall but we love that! ***STAFF*** The guy taking orders at the register was so fun! He was friendly and all dressed up for Mardi Gras! He got our orders in quickly and gave us tickets, took our names and told us we could have a seat. We went to the back and got a booth, then someone walked around calling names with the food and you'd kind of just raise your hand and they'd bring it to you. It came out quickly! ***FOOD*** The food was delicious!! So I have been vegetarian for several years now but over the last couple of week I have been trying to re-eat a little bit of chicken. I have always wanted to try gumbo, so I went with the Chicken & Sausage, since I don't eat seafood. There were only a few slices of sausage, and I figured I'd be able to pick them out and give them to my friend, and I was able to! There wasn't too much chicken either, just a few shreds, so I felt it was perfect. It was sooo delicious!! We also ordered appetizers for the table. I got the fried okra which was spicy. I had never had it spicy, but I loved it! It was more of a spicy aftertaste and not over the top. Someone else in the group got us cheese fries to share which were good but not the best. They were swimming in cheese and scalding hot. I like cheese but it was really too much and the fries tasted a little underdone. Still were good but if they were a bit more done with less cheese they'd have been perfect! ***PRICE*** A little expensive for the portion size but it was similarly priced to other restaurants in the area. I think the best deal is getting a poboy for sure though if you don't want to spend too much and if you are really hungry! I added my receipt as well in the pics. ***BATHROOMS*** There was only one women's bathroom in the hall which is pretty in the way. There was only a thin hall and it was between the two main rooms so servers were trying to get by the long line of women. It doesn't really affect the customer too much but I hate that for the servers. The men's bathroom was in the back. Our friend said it was like a big bin that everyone was using and then the sink to wash your hands was outside of the restroom in the hall for them which was odd, but also didn't affect me lol. ***CONCLUSION*** Would definitely come back here and suggest you stop by! It is a great location, good food and good service :)

Yelp
Updating my review to 5 stars because I tried the muffuletta and wow! It was so much better than that other place everyone talks about. It's warm and the bread was just crispy enough to not be crunchy and the aren't stingy with their olive oil and olive salad. So glad I tried it.

Yelp
I ordered allot here after drinking a couple of daiquiris. And I loved the food here. I ordered the oyster and soft shell crab Po boy, muffuletta and seafood gumbo. The only complaint was the muffuletta was way too big. The flavor for the pi boys was amazing because they automatically have spice to it. Enough to where you can feel a kick. Unlike other places where they just have regularly seasoned po boys. I am going back here everytime for poboys when I'm in on bourbon st.
