I work near Nomad and gave them a try for the first time today. I heard they had a killer pastrami sandwich, and I was not misled. It was phenomenal! The pastrami was smoky and tender, the rye bread was soft and a perfect base for the sandwich. The sauce and Swiss cheese complimented the pastrami and rye well. The fries and fry sauce were also excellent! Good portions, too! Bottom line, don't miss out. Do yourself a favor and try Nomad!

What a nice surprise! The pastrami is sinfully good. It’s been a long time since we’ve tried a new place and were impressed. The food is delicious, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable.

This is my "Go To" place for a Pastrami sandwich. Delicious, made to order, fresh smoked Pastrami. I've been to this restaurant a ton of times. Each time the sandwich has been Delicious! They load your sandwich up with pastrami. This has consistently been what I've received. I've never dined in, BUT my carryout sandwiches have been so good each time. You get so much meat, you can honestly eat half and finish the other half later. They definitely know how to make ya crave their pastrami sandwich. Try it, you'll like it.

The burgers and fries were great. I got the gravy on my fries. My husband got the dry rub chicken wings, he didn't really like the rub on them. They had a sweet almost like cinnamon flavor to them. The wings were cooked well we just don't prefer sweet wings. The service was ok.

Delicious food! Connected to a bar with lots of drink options, and a nice outdoor patio space as well. The pastrami was immaculate and the brussel sprouts were delicious. The serving sizes of everything were generous - more than I expected. And they treated our 2 year old so well, bringing extra side options for her unprompted.

Got the pastrami sandwich, cauliflower and smoked turkey gyros, and fish sandwich. Got the kimchi brussel sprouts and pickled beet salad. The sides were super delicious and paired very well with the sandwiches. Highly recommend the pastrami sandwich!

Normally, I despise Brussels Sprouts, but this restaurant elevated them to new heights with the kimchi fries. Not only that, but the sandwich was delicious. The meat inside was perfectly smoked. This is probably one of my favorite sandwich joints in Saint Louis.

This place serves up top notch food. I was at Tamm Ave bar and saw someone with their burger, and I knew after seeing and smelling it that I had to have one. I ordered the single cheeseburger with American cheese and their special sauce. It’s a great smash burger. One of the best in STL. The meat quality is top notch. However, if you were to have one thing from here it would have to be the pastrami. The rye bread is the best I’ve ever had. The pastrami is smoked in-house along with the bacon they put on it, and it takes it over the edge. You would be yourself a disservice not to try the pastrami!

Yelp Army recommended a spot for a pastrami sandwich and took their word and tried Nomad STL. Not too far from I-64 and STL Zoo, Nomad STL has exactly what you need if it's pastrami. Located in a small bar district, Nomad STL complements the options in the area with its diverse and creative menu. I highly recommend the Kimchi Brussel Sprouts as they exceeded expectations. Onto the pastrami, Nomad STL smokes pastrami that is tender, full of flavor and comes with a hearty portion. We split a sandwich and was full on a 1/2. Fries were perfect and also a good portion of. I do recommend their fry sauce versus ketchup and very good. Pricing was reasonable and happy to support local restaurants. Nomad does share seating with the adjacent bar which can seat on the street level, in the back patio or rooftop. Please note during sporting events seating can be limited so braid you have a large group. Great experience and will be back!

My husband and I were out shopping and I was HANGRY. I didn't want a chain restaurant but there aren't many options in the Brentwood area so I talked him into driving a little out of the way for this spot. Holy moly. It was so good. The parking situation is a little meh, but you can figure it out. You order at the counter, and I appreciate a smaller menu but dang! I wanted to try everything! The literally had all my favorite things on one menu. I got the pastrami burger and wowwww. The pastrami was so salty and delicious, paired with a perfect tender cheeseburger. It was amazing. My husband got the turkey gyro and he only had good things to say. The arancini balls I thought were good - I think I would rather have the Brussels or beet salad, but my husband was a huge fan of them. Plenty of seating and they share a dining room with the bar next door if you need a drink. Great experience!

4 stars for the pastrami!! It has great flavor and wasn't dry. A little strange of a setup as you order at nomad then have to sit in the Tamm bar dining room or patio. We opted to sit outside on the patio and it is nice. Lots of space and tables- partially covered. The service was fast and helpful. Wings were just okay, pretty overdone. Maybe an off batch! Ranch doesn't taste anything like a traditional ranch. Will definitely go back for the pastrami! Maybe on a date night to enjoy the bar night life.

I am a first timer and since I was in town I thought I'd give it a try. I tried the pastrami since that seems to be the most popular item. I will say this. It was good. Not great, but decent. It's nothing like a traditional deli type pastrami. It was extremely greasy and had a sauce on it that I wasn't entirely sold on but it was ok. The bread was great though. I thought it was a 3.5 but I'll bump up to 4 due to the atmosphere and service being good. But if you're expecting this to be a typical deli then you'll be disappointed. But it is a decent sandwich imo

Awesome spot! Ordered our food at the counter (burger, pastrami sandwich, and brussel sprouts), grabbed a number and headed to the patio. Great patio- large bar, arcade, and the patio is mostly covered. Even have a fireplace. This would be fun spot at night. Food came out in a flash and was delicious. Loved the pastrami sandwich and burger. Brussels have lots of kimchi which I loved- if you're not a kimchi fan, avoid haha. Will definitely be back!

I had one of the best pastrami sandwiches of my life at Nomad. My wife had one of the most "meh" hamburgers of her life at Nomad. The fries were fantastic at Nomad. So there you go. Nomad in three sound bites. The ambience was non-existent. It was neat and clean and totally fine. But don't go there for romance. Will I go back? You betcha. I am addicted to pastrami. It is a small place with minimal Indoor dining attached to a busy, noisy bar. That didn't bother me at all, because, hey... pastrami.

The Kimchi Brussels Sprouts were WONDERFUL, as previously reported on! The Pickled Beet Salad was VERY tasty also. The ordering process was painless and the food came out pretty quickly, especially considering a large group of us slammed them upon opening. Had to eat lightly due to a huge meal coming later in the day, but would SO LOVE to come back and eat that Dumpster Fire!!! Sat and chilled with friends while stuffing our faces and enjoyed ourselves very much. Food was definitely worth the price paid.

New favorite place! !warning! Parallel parking is a must. But there's so many dining room options: a dog friendly heated patio, an outdoor patio, a bar and a dining room. The place is gorgeous and smells just like a butcher shop so you know the product is fresh. I had the pastrami (their top dish) and I've never seen something more beautiful. I was drooling and my fingers have smelt like fresh meat all day. My boyfriend is also beyond obsessed with the cauliflower gyro and it didn't hurt him to eat (lots of medical issues- he can't have 90% of our food options). Plus, service is pretty good! You order at the front, receive a table number and then can sit literally anywhere you want and they'll find your number when the food is ready! There's staffed bars in every room so you won't go without a drink either. I cannot wait to come back here and to eat my left overs

So delicious. We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon for a few drinks and apps to hold us over till dinner. The pastrami poutine was fantastic! The dry rub smoked wings were also great, but a tad dry. Service was lovely. The patio is such a great place to hang.

My veggie burger was delicious. The kimchi brussel sprouts were incredible. My boyfriend got double cheeseburger and fries. I had a fry and they were good. The 3 stars is due to hair my boyfriend found in his burger. The atmosphere is chill, very casual, more like a bar/hangout spot than a restaurant. Great patio with dogs allowed. Food is ordered via QR Code. But for the hair this would've been a 5 star experience.

Nomad is exactly why I love Yelp!! Found this little gem while combing through possible lunch spots. Not many reviews but the ones that I read told me I needed to stop by. I had a hard time choosing so I ordered everything that I wanted to try. The Rueben sandwich was DELICIOUS. A must try. Probably one of the best I've had (and I've tried them in NYC/LA/Chicago. The Brussels were also phenomenal and full of flavor. Their pickle beat salad was clean and light. The only negative I have to say is the shared space with the bar connected. Food ordering is counter service but in order to dine in and get beverages, you must open a separate tab at the bar. I simply wanted water but didn't want to bug the bartender with grabbing it for me. Either way, I would 100% come back and look forward to my next trip to get my fix.

Pastrami, never in all the places from NYC westward have I had such perfect, tender and flavorful pastrami. The marble rye while softer and less crusty that i would expect just works with the sandwich. Friendly service on the food side and the bar side as both services are split between two businesses with a dinning room in between. The focus here is on the eats not the decor. Best to eat one there and schlep one home too.

Impromptu visit as most of mine are....."where am I and what am I eating, I'm hangry"...(in my own voice) Nomad pops up on my handy dandy YELP search, seducing me with it's menu photos of pastrami..... "Yeah, but do they gluten free"- also me to me in my own voice.....Yes. They. Do. Here I am bay-bay.....straightforward simple menu, exactly what I wanted. And my companion, the usual burger of some construction. Again I'm gluten free, but so is the coveted pastrami, and I'm going on a limb....the beet salad instead of potato salad. Here's the thing, palate wise potato salad is my jam. Going out side, I don't want something I can make at Home which at best is gonna get a good review but not force me back. I hit mid bar in my way to the back patio and decide on a drink. The bartender helps me make that decision and we choose well..... now to wait for the food. For the first time in my, ok ever (in an effort to skip my age by giving years) I notice this beautiful and bright side salad that was itself big enough for a meal. I skim over to the pastrami smooshed between an Udi"s toasted bun. It's gonna be good. I can see the meat is moist, the cheese, and the thousand island. Perfection. But lemme try that gorgeous salad. The feta is calling me. One bite and I'm hooked. Not much of a beet person. Not usually one to prefer veggies over a beef option, I'm a carnivore.....period. Well, today has me questioning that. The sliced beet chunks are meaty enough to serve as a capable opponent. The tangy and the richness and the sweet from the dressing and feta were nothing short of remarkable and hearty enough to be a meal alone.....and it is offered as such. Now I know why. I indulged in the full salad, sampled the sandwich and packed it up, not enough room for both. The sandwich alone could have been enough to warrant a return visit but I've opted to go home and question my entire self-proclaimed title of meat-lover. The salad could cause me to become happily vegetarian. Why am I and what has NOMAD done to me?!?!?

This is smack dab in Dogtown in the old Macs Local Eats location across from Seamus McDaniels. It's a burger and sandwich joint, too. It's kind of a half bar and half restaurant run by two different businesses. You order at the counter or on your phone. The service is very quick! I got a double smash burger with cheese and grilled onions. The patties are bigger, so 2 are PLENTY. It's definitely a high-quality burger. My wife got the Pastrami sandwich. I believe they smoke their pastrami. I prefer a non smoked Pastrami, but it was good nonetheless. The fries were pretty darn good, too. Very crispy! Someone at the table got the Brussel Sprouts with Kimchi (not sure of the spelling). If you don't like Brussel sprouts, you might like these. The kimchi in it is delicious!!! You should at least try it. Overall, Dooo it!

Picked up Nomad's on my way home tonight, and I couldn't be happier that I gave this place a try! They're apparently known for their pastrami sandwich and I can see why. It was a perfect blend of crispy beef on soft marble rye with a dynamite sauce to match. The atmosphere was casual and efficient with friendly service. I love French fries and these were great. They even traveled well which felt like something the kitchen had put thought into. I can't wait to try this place again!

Tucked away spot that you shouldn't skip! Went in not knowing what to expect, and was surprised by the quality of the food. I got the Double Deuce burger. Never have I had pastrami on a burger but lemme tell you it works. Definitely a meat bomb haha. But it wasn't overwhelming, and with the Swiss cheese it was delicious. The special sauce really tied it together too. I was also impressed that the dish was not too salty as all those ingredients usually leads to a salty mess but not this time. Well balanced. You could tell the beef was good quality as well.

I ordered a burger and fries to go from Nomad for lunch one day. The staff was friendly when I arrived and the pick up process was easy. My double burger with pepperjack was delicious! All the food was hot and fresh. I'm happy to see a great restaurant go in this bar so close to home. Will definitely be back to try some of their sandwiches.

Best pastrami I have ever had! It is a cross between deli style and barbecue. Delicious!!!!!!

Found this lil gem while on a work trip to St Louis. Went inside with co-workers and they both ordered the pastrami sandwich and sides. I ordered the same and a side of kimchi Brussel sprouts. DELICIOUS. The sandwich was housemade pastrami and smoked to perfection. Just the right amount of smoke on marbled rye bread! Would give more stars if they had more!

The food was great the pastrami was delicious and the hamburgers had a ton of flavor. We also ordered the pastrami poutine and that we could not get enough of it, the gravy is so good. This restaurant is a hidden gem in St. Louis!

Super appreciate their Grass-Fed Burger with a "build your own topping adventure" setup so I get to mix it up on myself. The Kimchi Brussel Sprouts are amazing & I almost always order that if we're going to do a side, but this time we did their fries & they're amazing!! Finally, I usually advocate that my bf gets the Dumpster Fire so I can have a bite. It's so tasty. Great, fresh food & always kind service!! & love Tamm, the bar it's connected to! Can eat on the patio & grab a beer, or take out with compostable containers. Love it all!! So grateful to have Nomad's deliciousness in Dogtown!!

I have been on a Pastrami kick lately and my usual Pastrami place was closed on Sundays. This was really close and I've been wanting to try Forever. They lived up to their reviews! We ordered a couple Pastrami sandwiches, one on Rye and the other on Brioche, with fries of course and the Turkey Gyro. The Pastrami was stacked high and was very flavorful, I'll give them the Runner up for Best Pastrami in The STL! I preferred the Brioche better than the Rye but I'm not a YUGE Rye fan away. The Brioche was thick sliced, soft, toasted and buttery! If you are a "breadie" this is for you!! The Rye was marbled and not too Rye-ee. It too was thick sliced, soft, toasted and buttery. The Turkey Gyro was just okay for me. I was expecting the Turkey to be served warm and it was cold. Overall it had some of the tastiest Smoked Turkey that I've had in a long time with basically a mini Greek salad (w/ample Feta chunks) all wrapped in a fluffy Pita. Now...onto the fries...Do not split an order! You will want your own order of these well seasoned crispy on the outside while still soft in the inside golden Gems!!! We dipped them into their version of Fry Sauce, which was a mildly spicy Mayo. I would order again. Service was awesome, location and street parking were great.

No clue how I've never posted a review of Nomad. Such a welcome addition to dog town. Hands down, THE BEST pastrami I've ever had in my entire life. The smoke on the pastrami is SO heavy, and it's glorious. They make a solid burger as well. If you can't decide between the 2, get the double deuce which has both! The fries are awesome as well, and the staff all super friendly. LOVE this place and don't make it here often enough!

NOMAD'S SO GOOD, IT MAKES YOU WANNA SLAP YO MAMA! I get the double cheese burger, LTOP, pepper jack cheese with the loaded fries! Switch bacon instead of pastrami oh Jesus and his 12 disciples would have a feast here! But even with the pastrami and gravy the loaded are great. STL TREASURE

Would give this place a 4.5. Got the pastrami sandwich, fries and their house fry sauce. Would say I was pretty satisfied but the pastrami was a bit salty for my taste but didn't bother me much. Fries weren't as crispy as I wanted them but were still good and they had pretty good sauce. Service was good, fairly quick getting my food. And the place was clean. Would recommend trying this place.

Save your money and make a cold cut sandwich. This pastrami sandwich is so greasy that the grease piles at the bottom of the tray. See photos attacthed and notice pools of grease underneath the sandwich. Also pretty salty. Taste like salt and grease & I can't believe that it was $20 for this greasy mess and a side of potatoes salad that taste like it was scooped from the grocery store salad bar. Food is so greasy you will need to eat cherrios for a month to lower your cholesterol.

Best pastrami in town and some of my favorite fries. Everything I've had from here is great so whatever you order, you can't go wrong. Oh and definitely order extra pickles or you will regret it!

I really didn't want to put as many as three stars, because as a bartender I can't in my right mind recommend a place that charged me $36 for two double shots of Titos. No double discount is crazy. As for the food we were "greeted" by a young woman who was very unfriendly. My girlfriend ordered the poutine and it was very good and a decent portion for the price. My burger on the other hand was tiny, I legitimately would've preferred going to Freddy's. Ambiance-wise the inside dining area was nice but the outdoor patio reeks of cigarettes. Not trying to put anyone down for enjoying the place, as I'm sure many people live nearby and enjoy having a regular place, but if you're considering eating or drinking here just know it will be expensive. That being said everything around STL seems to be expensive nowadays.

Literally the most amazing sandwich I've ever had! The smoked pastrami is a must try!! You do have to order sides separately but the sandwich will fill you to the brim.

Lunch on a Saturday, first time in. It won't be my last! The young girl at the counter was awesome! She took the time to answer all my questions with a smile and didn't rush me. She made suggestions and accommodated my special request with no problem. I took her advice and ordered the Double Duece. Excellent choice! Who knew how good pastrami could be? Not me, now I'll crave this sandwich! Fries were great. I didn't think I'd like them since the looked coated and that's not something I care for, these did not have that coated flavor or aftertaste! I'll be back!

I haven't found many places in STL doing house cured pastrami. This ranks among the top. Its a bold sandwich, with heavy smoke, salt, and black pepper. They will sell it by the pound, but they ask that you give them advance notice which is understandable so they don't run out. After a New Years Day walk in Forest Park, I sat on the patio for a canine friendly afternoon in Dogtown and enjoyed a beautiful pastrami on rye as my first meal of 2023. Tamm Ave Bar is next door so you can easily combo a sandwich with a frosty cold beverage. The only other place I know that does house cured is The Stellar Hog. Looks like maybe Lester's does too but haven't tried it. If you know of other great Pastrami in STL please comment. Nomad comes highly recommended!

Wow, that was some impressive pastrami. A different take, with the smokiness in it, but very good. Even if you don't like pastrami, I think you would enjoy this. We also got the kimchi Brussels sprouts, which were delicious - and eaten between bites of the pastrami sandwich kind of made it like a deconstructed reuben. Another sandwich ordered was the Dumpster Fire: smashed pork patties, bacon, pimiento cheese, lettuce, onion, sauce, on a brioche bun. Another hit, too - filled with flavor and heft.

Absolutely Awesome Sandwich. When I first walked in, I'm like kinda surprised at the look.. Hole in the wall BAR. I like taking chances, so I order the world famous sandwich and let me tell you ... It was world famous baby...

This place is located next to the Tamm Avenue bar, they are connected, it seems Tamm Avenue's food got so popular that they split off and opened a separate shop. It's marvelous! Well worth the visit. The food is amazing, interesting, creative, nice sauces. There is outdoor seating in the back, private and bright, games to play, don't be confused by the front patio, there's more outback. and there's plenty of seating inside, clean, air-conditioned, well appointed.

I finally had a chance to try this relatively new sandwich spot in dog town and I enjoyed every bite! I went for the classic pastrami sandwich and the sausage stuffed arinicini which was absolutely delish! I'm all about arinicini especially one served with a delicious chunky meat sauce. These Italian risotto balls are filled with meat and cheese and deep fried to golden brown deliciousness! This was my first time having pastrami and Nomad set the bar HIGH! This sandwich was filled with freshly sliced peppery pastrami, Swiss cheese and a delicious sauce all stuffed between two fresh and soft slices of marble rye. A couple of housemade pickle chips on the side was a nice touch. I will definitely be back to Nomad soon! Check it out!

It's a simple little spot. The sign outside says to try their pastrami. I did not order the pastrami. I should've listened to the sign - the pastrami is so good, once I tasted it, it made me sad I ordered the gyro.

Probably the best sandwich/burger I have had in STL. A lady seated next to me suggested I try the Double Duce from Nomad in Dogtown. The meat was soooo tender and I don't know which cheese they used but man I should say if you are ever in dogtown, try it! Soooo worth it. And did I mention it's only $11 like whaaaaaat?!!!! The staff was really friendly, the server suggested I add their fries on the side and I am not a fries person because I actually hate potatoes, but she was right about these ones! And yeah they brought my food to the neighboring bar Tamm Ave neighborhood bar! Very friendly people. The whole place just feels like a community and they are so kind. Kudos!

The staff was very friendly. The food is delicious and fresh. The fries are well seasoned. I got the dumpster fire burger and pastrami sandwich. Definitely a hidden gem in the St. Louis area. The only downside to this location is that there is no parking lot, but only street parking.

Super quick and easy to order online and pick up. Shiwed uo and food was ready to go. We got a pastrami sanwich, double deuce. And dumpster fire. With a side of fries and potato salad. Every was great but the pastrami sandwich was def a fav. Dumpster fire was our preferred burger. The other one could have used a little more sauce. Both good, just minir nitpicking. Fries were nice and crispy. Potato salad was good, potatoes could have been cut up a little smaller. But again, the most minor of complaints. Glad we finally got to try this okace out before we move!

The hamburgers are very satisfying, but we LOVE the fried brussel sprouts. So addictive!

Holy Pastrami Batman ! We went to Nomads for an early lunch Saturday and was so impressed with the pastrami sandwich and the great service we reviewed. We will definitely be going back it's worth the 40 minute drive we need to take to get there !

Exceeded expectations. Food as great and only a 20 minute wait for a walk in, to go order. I will come again!
