The Best New Bars in Seattle | Eater Seattle

"After Rapport announced its indefinite closure at the start of the year, many wondered what would become of Seattle’s most expansive self-pour wine bar space. Fortunately for local wine enthusiasts, it’s not going to waste. In its place is now Nomadic Wine Dispensary, a sommelier’s dream for sampling vintages from around the world, backed with nine beer taps, a nice cocktail list, and a food menu designed around Tuscan sandwiches. The layout is nearly identical to its predecessor, made over with warm wood and blue-gray tones — it’s the perfect spot for a classy date night or weekend wind down. Just do yourself a favor and grab the schiacciata in between all that wine." - Brianna Gunter

Google
This is such a cool place! Great ambiance, great service (really nice staff), and a fun way to try a lot of different wines! We ordered the Schiacciata bread and olives, which were perfect with the wine. We really enjoyed the entire experience. There is also a self-pour beer area and they serve cocktails, if wine is not your thing. We can't wait to go back!

Google
A great place to enjoy a super selection of wines by the glass, accompanied by interesting and very tasty food. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. The staff are friendly and attentive, on our first visit we even got helpful tips on where to visit during our stay! We enjoyed our second evening with wine and small plates very much, and found the final bill very good value for such a quality experience. We would recommend without reservation.

Google
Great food and ambiance. Super non intimidating way to try and learn about new wines. My favorite spot there were the space with the couches. Feels like you’re in your own living room and the place is spacious enough with different kinds of nooks for privacy. You can try wine on your own (1 oz pours available!) or ask for help which is great. Food was delish! Loved the carrots and bolognese. Save room for dessert because the sticky toffee pudding is to die for

This place is better than the previous tenant because they serve great food that's well priced for the portions. I like pairing wine with food, and they have actual food options across different cuisines, with many of them vegetarian.

This place is such a gem - excellent wine, food, warm ambiance & friendly staff. The self dispensing system allows you to choose how many oz you’d like; as little as 1oz - allowing you to learn about and try new wines in a non intimidating way! The menu is thoughtful; there’s something everyone would enjoy. Carrots, cauliflower and buratta have been my favs thus far. Can’t wait to come back & try more!

Google
Such a cool spot! Nomadic Wines is easily one of my new favorite places in Seattle. The self-pour setup is super fun — you can try a ton of different wines without committing to a full glass, and they’ve also got some great beers on tap too. The vibe is super welcoming, and the food is so good....creative, flavorful, and perfect for sharing while you sip. If you are looking for a fun night out with friends, this place is definitely worth checking out. Can’t wait to go back!

Google
Nomadic Wine Dispensary is my new happy place. Yeah, there are a ton of wines (it's a wine place). Over 80 bottles to pick from, all at different price points, so you can go fancy or just try something new without feeling like you're gambling your rent money. I didn't like one of the wines I tried but got a small pour for cheap so wasn't upset. Honestly, the real surprise here was the food. The small plates are ridiculously good. The house-made schiacciata bread is the real deal. No regrets. The space is super open, which makes it awesome for groups or parties, but they've somehow made it feel cozy and cool at the same time. It used to feel kind of sterile in its old wine bar life--now it's got this fun, laid-back vibe that makes you want to camp out and overstay your welcome. Definitely coming back. With friends...and stretchy pants.

Google
Great location, delicious food, loved the dispensary card machines. I tried small amounts of so many wines I really liked and never would have tried from a normal wine bar. We loved the sandwiches and the pasta bolognese. Our kids loved the food too and they made an heat Shirley Temple. Also, easy free parking!

Yelp
Visited last night with a friend and had a really great time. I'm not much of a wine drinker but my exposure to all their different wines and the accompanying information regarding their flavor notes, origin, and recommended food pairings made this such an exploratory and fun experience. The staff here were all very helpful and friendly, and there was a particular interaction that I was so appreciative of--one of the staff noticed that my friend and I were chatting about which of the rare and special wines to try and he popped in, asked a couple questions about flavor preferences, and made an awesome recommendation. Everything we tried was soooo good and I ended up breaking my budget because I was so seriously interested in trying everything! Highly recommend and personally can't wait to come back again.

Yelp
While I got complimentary $5 credit to try $1 / 1 oz (so 5 oz pours of different wines), the wine was so good that I opted to purchase more credits. I got to try a variety of wines all around the world with different variations including orange wine. I love that they mention the notes and what food pairs best with the wine. There is ample seating so I can see that there won't be much wait if at all stopping by at any hour they are open. Was a 4 star experience but 5 stars since they remedied the issue. I was initially overcharged to $10 when I only had 8 oz of wine but they were all $1 so they gladly adjusted the price. Note that today only (August 5) there were select wines at $1 for 1 oz and the regular price is $2-4 for 1 oz. But given the market price, that is still a fair price and I can see myself coming back paying regular pricing to bring friends along. It would be excellent if they do happy hours of $1 select wines and I will be hooked to be a repeat customer easily!

Yelp
We first visited Nomadic on Friday evening with some friends. Great time with wine tastings and food sharing! Today, we checked out their lunch offerings. The charred broccoli sandwich was delicious! It looked huge when it first came but I devoured it! Service is friendly and knowledgeable about wine. The remodel since they took over from their predecessor looks great!

Yelp
We got complimentary $5 credit to try out the different wine options and loved how convenient the self pour is and variety of options they had with cute little fun facts added. You can find discounted $1 for 1 ounce pour! Great service and ambiance. They were very attentive. Food options here are alright - could be better to pair it with the wine. We ordered crispy tofu bites but it lacked flavor and wasn't crispy at all.

Yelp
What an awesome self serve wine tasting room! The staff was friendly and provided easy instructions in how to use the card to dispense your own wine. There were so many stations to choose from. My fav were the rotating dry whites at the daily drinkers and featured whites section: sauv blanc from napa. As for food, the mortadella sandwich and kale caesar were delicious. Def coming back to try other items on the food menu.

Yelp
I think the concept of tasting diff wines is fine but I dont think its a good concept to have one little mini champagne as the only option, which was not delicious. And the food has got to improve. The beet salad was terrible. It had chowmen on the side with avocado slices. It doesnt make any sense. Focacia was sort of stiff. They were out of one of the two pasta choices. I think this place would be great for purely happy hour to have couple glasses of wine.

Yelp
Came here on Saturday night with a bunch of girlfriend's friends for book club! Very comfortable and stylish venue, and loved the pour your own wine set up. I had two cocktails which were great, and everyone enjoyed the food. Will definitely return!

Yelp
Fantastic wines, delicious tapas, lovely ambience, friendly servers. Since you can choose how much of a pour you want, you can enjoy a self-created flight or match a half-glass to each course you're eating. The description above each wine is informative and helpful. The servers are knowledgeable, too, if you want advice.

Yelp
I really enjoyed myself. I went on a Friday night. It was fun tasting and comparing wines with my friends (it would be an awesome first-date activity). Large variety of wines. Lots of white and red wine to explore. The food looked gourmet. I went back two evenings later with a friend and had a roast broccoli sandwich which was great (and more wine tasting). My friend had the ham and manchego sandwich. I would even go back for lunch just to have the food. They also have a beer tasting room with a large selection to taste. Reasonable prices. Large inside space and large patio. Staff were friendly and helpful. My new favorite place in Seattle.

Yelp
We love the self-serve concept here - it's an easy way to taste and learn about a variety of wines in an approachable environment. There's something for everyone; they've curated a broad assortment from everyday to rare finds. Check out the "flight" concept where you can compare new world vs old world varietals. The updated ambiance is cozy and inviting. This was a great place to hang out and enjoy the food. Shout out to vegetarian friendly tapas (carrots and cauliflower were A+). Both desserts were amazing, but the crowd favorite was the toffee pudding. We'll be back!
