NYC’s New Restaurant Openings

"Nōmé, from a kosher restaurant group and in the same space as their previous steakhouse near Union Square, is a Nikkei restaurant with massive menu of steak, sushi and other clubstaurant-y fare. The most massive item on the massive menu is a 50 oz. Jurassic Tomahawk which comes with a show." - will hartman

I gave the atmosphere a 4/5 merely because I think they could curate better music. It was covers of hip hop and tropical vibes & the restaurant is a classy candle lit environment with very beautiful set dishes - contrasting. Food is unreal so well set mostly A La Cart menu items. - Mushroom soup is SO tasty, - bang bang chicken is a must have, - beef in bow buns is small but it's SO cozy & good, - and the smoked baby back burden rubs, buttery good. A must go for a kosher restaurant .

I hesitate writing this review because as a Kosher diner, I always want kosher restaurants to succeed. I hope to be able to dine again and have a better experience! I hope for the restaurant’s sake this serves as feedback to improve. The actual atmosphere was lovely and I loved the decorations and set up - tastefully done and fun. Service was good - we were there for lunch and there was only 1 wait staff (only a few seated tables) and she did a good job trying to meet our needs. The food & menu need improvement. The best thing we had were the beef dumplings, but everything else we had needed more flavor or refinement. The menu as printed felt like it was doing “too much” - trying tot take on too many types of cuisines and methods. Additionally, the waiter let us know that the chef is experimenting with menu items so a few of the items we ordered came out differently than the menu presented which was frustrating. They did their best to correct or accommodate based on our feedback but would have liked to not have that experience to begin with! I wish them luck in finding their stride and trying it again in the future.

The food was great. We got the chef’s selection and had a beautiful three course meal

One of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Beginning to end. Supposed to be “fine dining” and the food was absolutely horrible. I felt bad for the people I brought there. No one finished what they had while we awkwardly ate it. Medium rare steak was well. And the quality of the meat was 1 star. Might as well bring a butchers knife with you to try to cut through that thing. They had a full bar and they said they could only serve beers and wine because they had no bartender. 1 server for the entire place and lunch took 2 hours. I never leave reviews but this deserved one.

I don’t think I’ve ever before been moved to take a photo of a plate of food. But when the salmon at Nome came out, I needed to memorialize that moment. The dish truly was a thing of beauty — it took my breath away. It was almost as delightful to look at as it was delicious to eat. (My phone was charging on the side; I walked across the room to retrieve it.) So, below is evidence of this photographic first. I don’t know what happened when Mocha Red turned to Nome, but whatever it was, I’m glad for it. And will be coming back.

The food is solid however I wish I can say the same for the service. I had to order 3 or 4 times and never received all the items that were ordered. At the end of the meal I gave up and went home hungry. When we tried to give constructive criticism all they did was rudely make excuses instead of just simply apologizing. I will not be retuning, the food is just to expensive and too small to be paired with such poor service

While the food here is great, there is nothing good I can mention about the service at Nome. Make sure you aren’t hungry when you arrive, because it takes around 45 minutes to receive the appetizers after you order. On my last visit, I had to order the same thing three times because the waiter kept forgetting to put it into the system. The first time I went to Nome I excused the poor service on the basis of them being a new establishment. However, on the fourth visit, I can no longer excuse their lack of staff training. It simply isn’t worth my time or money when there are plenty of other restaurants in the city. PS don’t order dessert. The desserts served at Nome are from the Kosher freezer aisle and simply warmed up, for a 600% markup.

I had the pleasure of dining at Nōmè Steakhouse recently, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance was sophisticated yet welcoming, creating the perfect atmosphere for an enjoyable meal. The highlight, of course, was the steak. Cooked to perfection by Chef Santiago, it was tender, juicy, and full of flavor—everything you could hope for in a great steak. The sides and appetizers were equally impressive, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentations that complemented the main course beautifully. The wine and cocktails were also delicious, with an extensive selection that caters to every palate. Bartender Gabby crafted some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had, perfectly balancing flavors and adding to the overall dining experience. The service was top-notch as well. Our server, Ozzy, was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations that enhanced our dining experience. Manager Lior ensured that everything ran smoothly and that we felt welcomed throughout our visit. It’s clear that the team at Nōmè takes pride in providing a high level of customer care. Overall, Nōmè Steakhouse exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just in the mood for a fantastic meal, this is the place to go. I can’t wait to return!
