Nonna's Review - West Loop - Chicago - The Infatuation

"We don’t like to compare restaurants. And we’re not totally going to do that, but we need to address something here. Nonna’s is a quick and easy Italian sandwich shop that opened up almost next door to JP Graziano Competition is supposed to be good, but was this the kind of competition Nonna's wanted? Thankfully, while the two places appear to be the same thing on the surface, they can coexist together, kind of like extended family. If J.P Graziano is your Grandma who has been doing things the same way for eternity, then Nonna’s, which actually means grandma, is more like your cool cousin that can cook. He probably learned a thing or two from grandma, but then took those skills and ran with them into the 21st century where we have hover-boards and self-tying shoes. Nonna's sandwiches are old school at the core, but they feel more hip and flashy than a real old school place. It's partially because Nonna's is newer, and while it tries to replicate that old time'y type of feel, it does so in a modern and sleek way. This is strictly a Serious Take-Out or Dining Solo situation. It has a tiny counter with three stools and a two-top table. That’s it. Also, hot sandwiches should be eaten close to immediately after ordering. Don't get a hot chicken parm and then complain it didn't hold two hours later. No sh*t. You wouldn't make a grilled cheese six hours before intending to eat it. You also wouldn't want to choose between family members. Luckily, you should spend time with both. Food Rundown Turkey & Provolone Turkey, lettuce, onion, giardiniera, and mayo on a potato bun. The bun is what makes this sandwich unique compared to everything else here. It’s a soft bun and overall a solid turkey sandwich. Italian Sub All the good stuff - salami, mortadella, capicola, provolone, lettuce, onion, and italian dressing on semolina-sesame bread. The dressing has a sweet touch to it. Tuna & Peppers Low-key one of our favorite items on the menu and a good order if you’re a tuna fan. This isn’t the boring tuna sandwich you packed for lunch. Olive oil poached tuna, peppers, onion, tartar sauce, and a few crispy potato chips for crunch. A great sandwich that’s not as heavy as the others, although we wouldn't exactly call it light with the generous portion of tartar sauce mixed in. Chicken Parmesan Sub Chicken parm you taste so goooood. Sorry, Peyton and Nationwide are stuck in our head, had to do it. But for real, this is a good chicken parm sandwich. The chicken is pounded out thin and fried, and is served piping hot with mozzarella and marinara. There's not an overbearing amount of sauce, but we like that, because you can still eat this like a sandwich. Eggplant Parmesan The veggie version of the chicken parm. Eggplant instead of chicken, still hot, still good. Nonna's Meatball Salad You get a good antipasti salad with meat and cheese already in it, plus a side of hot meatballs in a sweet sauce that are salty and delicious and the perfect compliment for the salad. Odds are you won’t finish it all at once. Ice Cream Sandwich Never a bad idea." - Sam Faye

Google
Quaint little date night spot downtown. I really enjoyed my chicken Alfredo . It was odd that the chicken parmigiana my son ordered and the chicken Marsala ordered also came with the same Alfredo noodles and sauce . The bread served with fresh garlic and oil was a nice touch although I didn’t enjoy the bread. The waiter was attentive and wonderful. The restaurant had a nice vibe. And the tiramisu was a-ma-zing .

On an early Friday evening, I got to try this location for the first time. The meatballs (on the Americanized menu) were the best I’ve ever eaten- from anywhere, ever!! The location was cute and decorated like Grandma’s house might have been, with a lot of old portraits. The gentle guitar music was a nice touch, but it leads me to the one big downside of this restaurant: the noise levels and echoes. There were a couple large parties in there and it was BAD. It was so offensive that I don’t understand why they don’t have acoustic tiles to aid in thwarting it. My old city had dozens of buildings of similar designs and age that served as restaurants, and all seemed to have the discreet, similar to the wall-coloring canvas blocks that apparently work wonders. Maybe it was the booth/table we were at, but we couldn’t even hear the waitress. I am not sure how long this location has been opened, but I really wouldn’t have hesitated to give it 5 stars if I could have heard her or my husband, seated directly across from me.

This was hands down one of the best Italian meals I’ve ever had! The Alfredo was the best I’ve ever had from a restaurant—so creamy, rich, and full of flavor. The meatballs were also absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned, and cooked just right. On top of the amazing food, our waitress was super sweet and went above and beyond to help us pick out the perfect wine to pair with our meal. The service, atmosphere, and food were all top-notch. I’ll definitely be coming back!

My son and I are in Springfield, Missouri, on business. Usually, we don't venture too far from where we are staying. Tonight, we wanted Italian and Google Maps suggested Nonna's Italian Restaurant. Street parking wasn't available. We found a parking garage around the corner. It cost $5.00. Super cheap compared to cities like Kansas City, Missouri, where it will cost $30.00 to park in its entertainment district. Nonna's is in an older building that has a cool vibe. In one of the windows sat a musician playing a guitar with an Italian Vespa to his back. It looked like a long wait when we walked in. To my surprise, we were seated within minutes. Wood floors, tables and chairs, subdued lighting. A bar sits to the back, and they have an inside upper level with tables. Turn of the century tin ceilings and draped wall hangings in this cigar shaped space was pretty cool. Very busy. In the center of the restaurant is a long table that can sit many people. It was full. Our waitress Carli was on point on all aspects of service. As was all the other wait and bar staff. We ordered appetizers. Calamari and an order of Bruschetta. Both were OK. The bread and calamari are to dry. The calamari came with a side of pesto and a side of Thousand Island Dressing? Luca had Pasta Bolengise, and I had a lasagna loaded with multiple cheeses. It rocked. I added a couple of meatballs and Italian sausage. It was awesome. Luca didn't say two words as he did a deep dive into his pasta. My lasagna was one of the best I have had out of my usual haunts in Kansas City, Missouri. Also I usually drink coffee with my dinner. It's always a struggle to find a decent cup of coffee at a restaurant. Not the case here. And they actually serve chilled coffee cream. I was raised in a Sicilian family, and I am very picky about Italian food. This is definitely not Olive Garden, and I am grateful for that. I am giving Nonna's a 4 Star. I highly recommend Nonna's.

Google
I finally got a chance to try three of the dishes from the new "Authentic Italian" section of the menu and they did not disappoint! My favorite was the Sacchetti, which were little "pasta purses" stuffed with cheeses and in a light mushroom garlic sauce. The blend of umami flavors was perfect. We also loved the Trofie Al Pesto. The pesto tasted so fresh. 💚 And finally was the gnocchi which was in a tomato based sauce. The sauce perfectly balanced sweetness and acidity with a hint of lemon infused olive oil. We are lucky to finally have an Italian restaurant in town that serves more than just the basics and I am thrilled that so many of the options were meatless by default! (Though adding meat was an option.)

Server was fantastic. The food was spot on. Plus gluten free option for my daughter.

Google
We have been excited to try the new menu additions and were delighted with fresh flavors and rich sauces! The restaurant was full, but it was only a 10 minute wait before we were seated. The whole experience was great and the service was excellent! My oldest daughter said that it’s her favorite restaurant:) I love that Nonna’s is still here after all these years. Everything was delicious, as usual!

Google
I would’ve posted pictures but none of the food they brought out lasted even 5 minutes on my table. Absolutely incredible. Delicious food! I got the Rigatoni off of the authentic Italian part of the menu along with the deep fried lasagna. I will be back. Service was friendly as well and the food came out really quickly, with huge portions! Bring your family and friends here if you want to show them some great authentic Italian food!

Yelp
Although I might be biased because I worked here during my college years - almost 20 years ago now - the quality of the food and restaurant have not changed (in a good way) even though the ownership has changed hands. I miss several of the menu items from the OG days, but I'm happy to report that the food is still excellent and scratched the nostalgia itch I've had for many years.

Yelp
My friend told me about this place for authentic Italian because their chef came from Italy. The place is small and limited seating but feels homie. They have pictures of Nonna, I think it's her. We have reservation for my 18 year anniversary, the waitress was nice and attentive. We have the appetizer tomatoes and burrata. It was different but taste good. Like a self service mini charcuterie. I wana try something different so I pick the beggar purse pasta from the authentic section. My man got the mushroom ravioli and the kids got the meat Lasanga and seafood fruitti de mare. Also came with side bread. My pasta was a little bland but it was different. I added some salt and it was better. The mushroom ravioli was super good tho. The sauce was on point, sweet, sour and flavorful. man was sweet to switch with me. The kids say their pasta was okie. Their flavor was bland. Overall service was good, I really like the ravioli and the other pasta was alright to me. Maybe will come back and try something else next time.

Yelp
Nonna's has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a casual dinner. The service was friendly, and the staff seemed attentive, though a bit slow at times. The food was good but not outstanding. I had the seafood pasta, and while the portion was generous, it lacked the bold flavor I was hoping for. The shrimp did not seem seasoned at all and barely cooked. They were inedible. The toasted raviolis seemed frozen. The problem I had was the website made them seem authentic but nothing else checked out with that. The live music was good. The prices are reasonable, but I expected more considering the reviews I had seen before. The bread service was great, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit again. Worth a try if you're in the area and craving Italian, but manage your expectations.

Yelp
We visited this restaurant Saturday night. The food was good, but unfortunately it was delivered to our table lukewarm. The waiter we had was less than desirable. For a nice restaurant downtown Springfield it was definitely a disappointment.

Yelp
I called ahead and made a reservation for two for a late dinner on a Saturday. The restaurant is centrally located, right in the heart of downtown Springfield. We sat down and ordered a bread basket, but the slim amount of sliced baguette was a little disappointing. We proceeded to order half a liter of their house red wine to pair with our meal. It was delicious and the perfect amount to share between two people. We started by ordering the tomatoes and burrata to share. This dish came with a decently sized burrata, cherry tomatoes, and crostini, served on top of basil pesto and topped with a balsamic vinegar reduction, olive oil, and basil. My husband ordered the pappardelle alla bolognese for his main course and said it was delicious. I ordered gnocchi alla sorrentina, which was very good once mixed together, though the lemon flavor was intense and overpowering. Overall, it was a good experience. The portions for the burrata appetizer and the two pasta dishes were large, there was live classical guitar music in the background, and the place looked like a real Italian osteria.

Yelp
Relaxing atmosphere, good service, excellent food, reasonable prices. Stayed downtown Springfield for a family wedding. Nonna's was a short walk from our hotel and a pleasant surprise for a nicely prepared relaxing dinner.

Yelp
One of the few reasons to venture downtown, we've patronized Nonna's since they opened. We've had nothing but absolutely wonderful food and experiences - a rare record for Springfield restaurants. When I do sample other Italian fare, Nonna's is one of the local standards I compare it to. There are a few places you can feel confident in enough to invite guests to sample...Nonna's is one of these. I'm not going to go through a litany of specific dishes - everyone's favorites are different. I am going to say that there is no weak sister on the menu although I haven't had their sandwiches (I mean, why?). Special occasions, holidays, family dinners, or a nice dinner with someone special (sit by the window), Nonna's won't disappoint. Service, ambiance, awesome food - the entire package. Count on it...

Yelp
Very quaint and quiet eatery. Loved the calmness of the place, there was a man playing a guitar in the front. I had the Fried Lasagna...it was amazing. Would recommend this Cafe to anyone.

Yelp
Delightful small local Italian establishment well worth a stop in. We came to springfield to see my mom... and take her out to dinner. She is the local so we trusted her to find the spot. We tried a place before this and there was no parking so she took us down to what I thought was a joke in the wall. I was wrong! It is a quaint best kept secret. Not too secret as it filled up quickly once we were there. It is a smallish venue, dimly lit, nicely laid out, and has the feel of a local secret spot. That kind of place that the locals don't tell people about because they want to be sure to be able to get in. My mom, both sons, and I were able to get seated right away. However shortly after we were seated the place filled up fast. One after another they came until the location was standing room only. Our waiter was very nice, timely, and helpful. He was always just around even as his table load grew. He never forgot about us or made us wait. Exceptional service! My youngest order the kids lasagna which came out drowning in sauce... but to my surprise (usually he would have looked at it and turn his nose at it) after one bite he tore through it like a lion at a lamb smorgasbord! He loved it. It was a pretty good sized slice... loaded with cheesy goodness and savory sauce. He finished it. My oldest wanted to try the toasted ravioli as an appetizer. He is usually not one for trying new things but he does love ravioli. When they came out I saw his trepidation but true to his word he tried them. Toasted to a crunchy but yet chewy perfection these ravioli were divine! The centers were a warm smooth mix of cheese that was a creamy delight! They were definitely worthy of my OHHHH MY GODDIE TO DARN HOTTIE!! Rating for sure. My oldest also had the cheese tortellini with the sauce on the side. Another home run... like pirañas in the amazon that just had a cow wade into the water... my boys eyes lit up and he began to feed. It was truly something to behold. A connoisseur of all things cheese and pasta he raved about his dish between mouthfuls. I went another direction and ordered the sea food risotto. It came out smelling like heaven... light fluffy rice delicately layered in savory lobster Parmesan sauce with an intermingling population of shrimp, scallops and clams. What a special medley! Every bite was transcending! A meal composed by a true culinary artist. Needless to say our out was a true food experience worthy of a 10 star rating! I highly recommend putting this venue on the top of your list of places to go... you will not regret it!

Yelp
I was poisoned by your seafood pasta. We were one of the last people served that day - we arrived late at night. Apparently the seafood was spoiled. Terrible impressions. I am so offended that such a cafe is on the 3rd place in yelp on "pasta" request....

Yelp
Absolutely enjoyed this gem, the staff was very helpful, friendly and very attentive. The live music was a bonus, gave it a beautiful loving and charming atmosphere. The food was delicious, definitely on my favorite list. I had the mushroom ravioli and the sauce was deliciously creamy, the ravioli was soft and cheesy, heaven. My daughter's loved their meal as well. We had fresh lemonade, calamari and complimentary bread to start with. It was a pleasant evening. Can't wait to try something new soon.
google avatar

Yelp
I am really picky when it comes to Italian food because I make homemade Italian food myself ...I even go so far as to rolling my own pasta for my raviolis! So I'm a tough critic! I do enjoy coming to Nonna's. I enjoy the portions. I enjoy the menu. I enjoy the atmosphere. I enjoy the flavors. most of all enjoy the service I will definitely be back and I definitely recommend this restaurant

Yelp
I used to come here once a week for weekday lunch. I excused the brusqueness of the waiter (the only one waiting tables), the unbussed tables, the overcooked pasta, the practically rancid olive oil (Look at it. Does that even look like olive oil?) because there are so few options downtown. Today, however, was the last straw. I arrived at 1:25pm. The restaurant serves until 2. I walked in, looked around - - the scene: unbussed tables all around, several tables with guests still eating...I took a seat. Five minutes, ten minutes, almost fifteen minutes in, the waiter finally comes over to me (take off your hat, man, you're serving food for GOD's sake!) and asks,"May I help you?" I respond, "I'd like to order some food" (meanwhile, he's acting like he's never seen me before). He then blurts out, "the sign says, please wait to be seated." I'm offended he even mentions this, I respond, "I sat down because then I would have been standing for 15 minutes," "No, not that long," he responds. I counter, "I've been sitting here for 15 minutes, and I'm not here to argue with you,". He begrudgingly takes my order but at this point I'm disgusted and walk out. Who's cooking in the back? Are you the owner? You should be present to some of what goes on Front of House (FOH). I appreciate the labor market poses a particular challenge to all of us right now, and its difficult to get help, but are you even trying? Surely there has to be someone better for your business than the sorry excuse for hospitality you have in the front right now on weekdays. Oh right, yeah, you're in the hospitality business. You're welcome!

Yelp
Convenient to Hotel Vandivort. Solid place, arrabiata pasta a little bland for the name.

Yelp
Call ahead and make reservations. Make your way to the 2nd level where the sounds and aromas of the bustling kitchen grab hold of your senses! From the fresh bread, olive oil, garlic and Parmesan cheese, your adventure begins. Each entree held our attention to the very end. Until we dove into the tiramisu, I thought we were in Florence. We will back !

Yelp
Just got back from Italy and was craving some good Italian. Thought I would give this place a try. I have to say... Nonna's scratched the itch!! Very authentic, delicious food. Service was good too!! This is a must go to again!!!

Coleton L.

Yelp
Bad service and got food poisoning from the deep fried lasagna which the inside of it was like a cold blended paste which was horrid, the plate was the only warm thing about the meal, the rest came cold

Yelp
My husband and I came here for date night after reviewing several different local Italian restaurants in Springfield. We ultimately chose this one because of the high reviews, their food looked amazing, and it looked like an intimate restaurant perfect for date night. And it was just that. I called in advance to make sure we didn't need a reservation that night, got sat immediately after we walked in, and were taken out drink orders. Our waiter was very quick, attentive, and made the ordering process super easy. We ordered two appetizers the calamari and bruschetta dish to start off with. Then later we ordered our entrees, The Big Nonna and Nonna's Ciopinno. Everything was excellent. I haven't had great Italian food in a long time so it was a breath of fresh air dining at Nonna's. And we will definitely be back for more!

LJ D.

Yelp
Food was AMAZING! Service was great! Atmosphere (with live guitar music) was inviting and warm on a cold night! I'm a second generation Italian visiting from NY and wasn't sure what to expect from an Italian restaurant in Springfield Mo. HIGHLY recommend it!!!

Dave B.

Yelp
We had date night at Nonna's, and it did not disappoint. We started with the balsamic vinegar, oil, grated Parmesan, Minced garlic and bread. It was scrumptious! We followed with toasted ravioli, which was fantastic, as well as the marinara dipping sauce. We continued on with our entree which was the best yet! We split one order of Lasagna Arrabiata. The taste of the sauce transported us to Italy, and danced across our tongues! The atmosphere was cozy and romantic. If you get a chance, try it, it won't disappoint.

Yelp
Delicious food, great atmosphere, happy servers! Nonna's is a staple in Springfield and worth visiting!

Yelp
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. This was our first time there and did not know what to expect. We were there to celebrate a very special occasion and we were not disappointed. We will be there again the next time we are in town.

Yelp
If you're ever in the area where a Nonna's is, GO. A Springfield classic at its finest. With two locations, we chose the downtown location. An old shop on the corner, this place is adorable. The walls are lined with old Italian pictures, the floor is a nice old oak and the upstairs over looks the kitchen, it gives it a nice Italian feeling. We started out the evening with a nice glass of house wine, sweet as it can be, and a classic Manhattan. Both excellent choices. Then we ordered the cheese fried ravioli and fried calamari. Although I am a fan of the meet ravioli not cheese, the ravioli was fantastic. I had been craving fried ravioli and this hit the spot perfectly. The calamari was delightful as well. For the entree we had the fried lasagna and added sausage. AMAZING. we had the clam linguine (it's not on the menu but if you ask they make it) it's literally the best I've ever had. We also had the classic shrimp linguine with huge shrimps! And last but not least, the seafood lasagna with clams, shrimp, and fresh mussels. I can't say it enough, Nonna's is fantastic.
google avatar

Sue B.

Yelp
We were driving through. Olive Garden or a family owned Italian restaurant? That choice was easy for us. Excellent atmosphere! Seems authentic. The original owner, Nonna, which is Grandma in Italian, used to live upstairs where she made the pasta! Great Italian gravy, meatballs and salad. We would definitely make this a "regular" Haunt if we lived nearby. Ciao'

Shirley M.

Yelp
We have eaten here twice. Food is absolutely wonderful. Atmosphere is nice downtown location. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Excellent, food was fabulous. Mushroom Ravioli and lasagna bolognese. Service was spot on. Be sure to order lemon with the water or request it later. Cheesecake did indeed taste like crème brûlée.

Kathryn S.

Yelp
1. Great Food 2. Server's beer belly was hanging out his shirt which was grossing me out plus pretty sure he had been drinking. 3. Nice Italian atmosphere

Yelp
Awesome food and drinks with a great casual atmosphere. Serving staff and bartender very friendly and makes for a very intimate experience. They have musician on Saturday nights who plays acoustic guitar. We will return.

Yelp
Pretty mediocre food. Bread was really good though! Staff was a little slow, overall wouldn't go back.

Yelp
Beautiful, yummy food!!! Lovin the vibe here. The live music in the background really sets the tone. Just delicious.

Yelp
Nona's is my favorite Italian restaurant in Springfield, MO. I enjoying eating the Alfredo Noodles and Chicken Parmasean. I love the olive oil, garlic and parmasean cheese mixed on the bread.

Yelp
Great service once you walk in. Starters: calamari and bruschetta - both amazing! Dinner: spaghetti with red sauce, seafood risotto, eggplant parmesan. Amazing food and a great place for a family dinner or date. We stayed a tad longer after dinner and they offered us a shot of homemade limoncello! Highly suggest!!!

Steven J.

Yelp
Wow! Lasagna Arrabbiata, chicken parm, bruschetta, fried ravioli, pasta sacchetti with meatballs, cannoli, tiramisu and crème brûlée cheesecake. Yikes, I ate too much, but have tons of leftovers. Found this hidden gem along trip back home to Illinois. Would love to come back and order EVERYTHING else on the menu.

Yelp
Dinner in Springfield MO before the 2018 edition of the Bass Pro marathon came here to Nonna's Italian Cafe. It was nice to find a good Italian restaurant that oozed authenticity in its walls and on its menu. Thanks Yelp for always helping me find delicious avenues for any meal options I may have while commuting at home or on the road in southwest Missouri. My friend and I searched Olive Garden on Yelp, but ended up pulling up Nonna's Italian Cafe as one of the top picks in the area. We decided on coming to Nonna's Italian Cafe and arrived here around 7:00pm on a brisk and cool Saturday evening. The restaurant itself was pretty busy, but we got a table right away and the service was good and friendly, while being courteous along the way too. We got a table in the back area at the restaurant, so you could hear the kitchen humming along. Not the best places to be, but it works and it wasn't as nosy as I thought it would be. The ambience was nice and casual, while preserving the whole intimate setting feel to the whole entire thing. This place is great for couples and groups. I just have meant to like Italian fare, since I was here to feast before running the marathon the next morning. Gotta do what you gotta do, as they say to prepare for it. The meal itself was nice and I recommend coming here. The overall experience here at Nonna's Italian Cafe Italian restaurant was as delicious and savory as you can get. It was good and positive, while being authentic and fun. I guess you can say that Italian cuisine is usually the best way to go for marathon prep and I have done that over 100 times already. This evening here at Nonna's Italian Cafe was no different. I loved the ambiance though and we were there about an hour from start to finish. Nonna's Italian Cafe Italian restaurant is located at 444 Main Street in beautiful downtown Springfield, MO. They accept major credit cards and cash too. While they are located in downtown district of Springfield, it was tough trying to secure street parking. We eventually found a paid parking lot nearby, which was good and spent about $5 for parking. We were told that it was valet parking for another business, but we parked there anyway and it was fine. For the most part though, do get here early if you want a good parking spot on the street. You might have to spend time circling the streets of downtown Springfield before being annoyed at how little parking options there is. On the menu that night, I ended up ordering the eggplant parmesian and had a Guinness beer for a refreshing drink. They offered complimentary bread, which was awesome. My friend and I had that while waiting for our entrees to arrive. We probably waited about 15 minutes in the interim. Once it arrived, it was good. The eggplant Parmesan was a delightful and delicious meal option to anyone and everyone to try. While eggplant isn't usually for anyone, I can usually find it on most Italian restaurant's menu. It was a good meal and recommend it to anyone who wants something other than lasagna. While noodles are an important part of Italian cuisine, best bet is the combination of sauce and noodles to gain entry to an excellent experience worthy of authentic Italian cuisine. I think Nonna's Italian Cafe here in Springfield, Missouri did just that and did it well. If you are ever in the area and craving Italian authenticity, come on over to Nonna's Italian Cafe in the downtown district and you'll be treated to some of the very best in authentic Italy. I had a nice time here and hope you will too. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the prices. They're usually around $12-$15 per entree and their alcohol drink menu is limited. 4.0 stars for the meal and service. Support local! B

Yelp
Service was good. As far as the food. Good salad and bread. Olive oil on table but no balsamic. Entries were the eggplant and veal tortellini. Taste was so-so. Very good deserts. Conclusion was another restaurant selection next time

Nicole P.

Yelp
The tiramisu, cheesecake and cannolis were all delicious, and the portions were generous. One son had the tomato basil soup and loved it, and the other says his fettuccine Alfredo was fine. My Greek pasta was more salt than anything else, especially the chicken. I had to throw most of it away, it literally hurt to eat. My husband's spicy chicken Caesar salad was unusual, but some might like that. The staff was friendly and the prices were fine.

Yelp
Wonderful food! A charming Italian restaurant in downtown Springfield. The service was very good and the waiter was personable. I had the lasagna and it was delicious. It came with a basket of Italian bread and oil and Parmesan cheese for dipping. Recommended!

Yelp
We did the curb side carryout tonight. We had Toasted ravioli, Seafood lasagna and a bottle of Monte Antico wine. Everything was delicious. I would highly recommend this. Definitely plan on returning to dine in once the stay at home order is lifted.

Yelp
Only one word for this Restuarant. AMAZING! GO THERE! It is great location. My personal fav is the fettuccine Alfredo!

Yelp
Good classic Italian food. Quick service. Right downtown on the corner. Perfect portions. The tiramisu and cherry cheesecake were awesome.

Yelp
Just a quick lunch delivery from a great Italian restaurant. The food at the restaurant is excellent classic Italian. But I ordered delivery today. It was delivered promptly. The ratatouille risotto was fresh and served warm. It was excellent. The vegetables were freshly prepared and the rice was cooked to perfection. GrubHub delivery was prompt, courteous. Well packaged. Always good.

Yelp
Attended with 5 other people and were surprised at how poor the service was. The server took are orders and brought the food and was never back to refill glasses or remove appetizer plates making the table over crowded. In fact we had to go seek the server out to get a check. The other servers said our server spent all his time out of the restaurant in the alley. The was alright but nothing special. Probably will not return.

Yelp
The food was terrible amd the server was extremely slow and seemed clueless. It took 10 minutes to get two drinks. We were served cold bread. I asked for the bread to be heated in the oven, she microwaved it, gross! We ordered pasta fagioli soup and caeser salad, we were served beef stew? And a dry salad with caeser dressing on the side. We ordered pasta pesto with chicken amd Alfredo pasta with shrimp. The pesto pasta was served cold amd the Alfredo barely warm with the chicken amd shrimp placed on top like an after thought. Complete waste of money:-(

Yelp
If you crave excellent Italian dishes, in Springfield, hurry to Nona's. Not a huge menu to wade through but, each item is wonderfully Italian. The service is great and pricing very reasonable.

Yelp
So, the food is pretty top notch, I tried 2 dishes. Chicken Marsala, and Deep Fried lasagna. Both were pretty amazing in both texture and flavor variety. They definitely have Italian done right!

Yelp
I really wanted to give this place five stars but the service just wasn't there. We walked in and sat ourselves. We were greeted pretty quickly and the drink menu was presented to us. However after that it took quite some time to get a dinner menu and we had to request it. The server did not write down our order which made me a little nervous because there was five of us and of course one of them was wrong. My mom's meal did not come out until we were completely done with everything else so we had to get it to go. Nothing was comped and the server didn't even offer to box it up for us normally that wouldn't have been a knock from me however with the messed up I hoped that maybe he would have. Bread did not come until the meal came and we all ordered salads so I was hoping to have bread with the salads to suffice my toddler until food came. We would've asked the server however we didn't see the server until our food came. The positives were that the food was incredible. We tried one of every salad, Cesar the spinach and the house. I was very impressed with them they were all very delicious and fresh the spinach was probably my favorite. The egg plant Parmesan was meaty and just lightly breaded with a marinara sauce that I could have lapped up. The lasagna Bolognese was probably the showstopper. Great portion and it held together nicely. Husband had the fried lasagna which I thought was outstanding but it was pretty cheesy almost like a fried mozzarella stick with some pasta. The vodka pasta was again outstanding. Happy hour drinks are a huge bargain and delicious. Location downtown is fun and it's nice to sit in the window and watch people walk by. Just need to get the service up to par so I can give it five stars hopefully it was just a bad night.

Yelp
Ate there with a business associate. Masking was mandatory and they were seating at 50% occupancy, so I didn't feel exposed. Wait staff all were conscious of the issues and remained masked the whole time. Food is great. They had a quick, limited happy hour - but enjoyed what we had. Wine prices were reasonable and varied - not extensive, but good. Entrees were good - good selection, served quickly and hot, and the service was excellent. Waiter checked a few times to be sure we were doing ok. After 3 glasses of wine, we were fine. A filling meal, excellent food. I'm going back as often as I can.

Yelp
So happy to have found this spot while passing through. After having had terrible road food during our 3 day trip back from Arizona, it was so refreshing to eat deliciously prepared, fresh cuisine. My family and I enjoyed the chicken Parmesan, hummus appetizer, toasted ravioli, burrata with crostini and spinach salad. Everything was delivered to perfection. Thank you
