The Best Chinese Restaurants in Los Angeles

"Dun Huang is known for its northwest Chinese cuisine and its signature Lanzhou beef noodles are a must-order. Walk up to the clear glass window to watch the noodle soup come together — from kneading the dough to pulling the noodles and assembling with a radish-beef broth, chile oil, fatty beef chunks, green onion, and cilantro. Dun Huang pulls eight different shapes of noodles, including extra-thin angel hair and extra-wide belts. The deep-fried flatbreads flavored with cumin, Sichuan peppercorn, and dry chile oil make for a fine accompaniment. Other popular dishes include the cold eggplant salad, lamb tenderloin skewer, and sweet pork pita." - Kristie Hang

Had Dun Huang once in Flushing, NYC. This is my second time, but in a totally different city! The food taste is good and service is fine too. We ordered beef noodles, big plate chicken and lamb skewers. They are delicious and flavorful. But for noodles, my advice is that do not go for anything above level 3 wrt the thickness. Level 4 韭叶 will not be like round shaped and it is much less to the tooth (having strength) compared to a regular thickness one (level 2 )or level 3 (二细). Originally, I would like to give 4 stars review at least. But!!! The food here has so much MSG! You can tell that by taking a little sip of the soup. My whole family was aware of this, and did not drink the noodle soup, but all of us still got up at midnight to seek for water! OMG! This is crazy. Can you please put less MSG into your food?????? At least you can put more salt instead , so customer can know they are taking how much sodium.

When you see this place from the outside and inside, it looks clean and nice, but.... eat before you go to the restroom. In fact, no need to go wash your hands (: After seeing what the female restroom looked (and smelled) like, I almost gave up on our order, but I pushed through. Unfortunately, we won't be back. We walked around the mall to decide where and what we wanted to have for lunch and came back to Dun Huang for the photos on their menu. We ordered the fried noodles with eggs and veggies and lamb skewer. The food was tasty and service was good.

Better than Din Tai Fung, one of the best flavor in XLB I've had. Surprised it's not packed, this place is getting slept on. If you're hesitant to try hot and sour soups at new places, it's similar to DTF's flavor-wise, but better and less salt. Doesn't really matter, but docked one atmosphere star because while the interior was very clean and made with premium materials, it didn't seem like any wall had a consistent design with any other wall.

I came here for lunch. The place was not crowded and the food came pretty quickly. You have to order via a QR code. I ordered the cucumber salad and it was delicious! Beef noodle soup and shredded pork noodle soup are also delicious.

The lamb skewers and the beef noodles are great here. I do highly recommend the lamb.

This place is super delicious! Today I tried their big plate chicken. It’s so nice and also comes with the thicker noodles. Chicken cartilage skewer is a must! If you ever need to try a new restaurant this is definitely one of the best places n

Hand pulled noodles. That’s the reason to come. The lunch special includes a drink which is great. Our group also god mapo tofu, string beans, chive box, xiao long bao. All were good. Would return if I’m in the neighborhood.

I really like this place. I go here a lot. Food and service is good. The service is friendly and fast and the food is always good. My go to dishes is the pita sandwiches. All of them are good. Spicy has a nice kick. The cauliflower is my favorite dish. It’s delicious. Eating in is always good and usually no wait compared to some other places in diamond jamboree. Also can call for pickup and they have it ready when I get here. No issue. Super easy. This is my go to place near my house.
