Norikase sets a new standard for high-end, modern, and gourmet sushi in Jacksonville!! Every aspect of this restaurant reflects a commitment to excellence — from the attentive, professional staff to the meticulous detail in every dish. I had the pleasure of experiencing their Omakase, and I have to say: it was worth every single penny. Each course was an elegant work of art, prepared with visible skill, care, and passion right in front of us. The entire experience felt on par with a Michelin-star level restaurant. The atmosphere only adds to the experience, with a bar program that is easily one of the best in Jacksonville. The cocktails are crafted with precision and creativity — a true highlight of the evening. Norikase is everything you could hope for in a fine dining sushi experience and more. It deserves to be recognized among Jacksonville’s finest! A special thank you to the wonderful staff who made the night unforgettable — to Jorge, the mastermind behind the bar, and to Chefs Francis and Joseph for their artistry and hospitality.

If you’re looking for a birthday dinner that feels truly special, 13-course omakase is the way to go. From the moment we sat down, the team made the evening feel celebratory without ever being over-the-top. Every course was a tiny work of art. Highlights for me: Toro nigiri—melt-in-your-mouth and perfectly balanced. Seasonal sashimi flight—delicate slices that tasted like the ocean in the best way. A warm, umami-packed miso broth served mid-meal that refreshed the palate for the final bites. The pacing was spot on: just enough time to savor each piece while still keeping the excitement for what was next. The chefs explained the ingredients and origin of each fish with genuine enthusiasm, which added so much to the experience. Ambiance-wise, the café strikes that sweet spot between upscale and intimate. Lighting was soft, the counter seating let us watch the precision knife work up close, and the background music stayed pleasantly low. For a birthday dinner, it felt like the perfect combination of luxury and warmth. Price-wise, it’s definitely a splurge, but every bite—and the personal attention—makes it worthwhile. Bottom line: If you’re celebrating a special occasion in Jacksonville and love sushi, book the 13-course omakase at Norikase. It’s a memory you’ll talk about long after the candles are blown out.

Probably in the top 5 restaurants in Jacksonville. Make a reservation... The restaurant itself is great, we had a booth for two and they are very comfortable. There was some background music but at the perfect level where it's not to loud or to quiet. The place is staffed very well, and the food and drinks come out on time. The crudo platter was amazing and I've been thinking about the Sushi ever since eating it. The Toru Sashimi was so delicious. It is pricey and 20% gratuity is included in the bill but it's worth it.

There are not enough words to say about this place. The service is TOP tier. The drinks? Incredible. The food.. mouth watering. Fresh. Beautiful. This is a Michelin star restaurant without the price or dress code!!! 10/10 reccomend.

I celebrated my 40th birthday here with 34 guests and had an amazing experience! I was able to reserve the entire outdoor patio, which made the celebration feel private and intimate. The service was excellent, and the food was phenomenal — everyone had a great time. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful space for larger gatherings or special occasions. Shout out to Emily and Michael for making sure everything went smoothly 🎉

This place is great if you're looking for an urban-like club lounge bar that happens to serve sushi, where you can show off your best club wear and side eye those dressing less than you. As an omakase spot, and having dined in many NYC omakase, this spot leaves plenty to desire. As a couple of patrons that reserved a spot for over 175 a head (+ auto 20% gratuity) for an omakase experience, the front reception was uncharacteristically chilly and inadequate. We waited over 15 minutes for someone, I felt like we were treated like other clubgoers trying to get into an exclusive spot, we started off on a bad foot there. Eventually recognized as VIP, we were led to a private-ish dining area cordoned off by soft black curtains. We were "comped" 2 cocktails for the mess in the front, that they ironically still charged me 5 bucks for at the end of the night. The chefs were skilled, friendly, and entertaining; although I couldn't really hear them explaining the delicacies of each piece with the club music blaring behind me, quiet ambiance not provided. The servers operate like a standard sushi restaurant, fine dining service this is not. Dishes were creative and presents beautifully, though the sushi fish could be fresher, and sadly many of the toppings overpowered rather than complementing the taste of the fish itself. The non sushi dishes were more interesting, stealing the spotlight from the sushis. Frankly, I blame the ingredients and lack of competition in this town, we were left disappointed in our experience for a taste away from NYC being stationed in Jacksonville.

The Omakase was one of the best meals I ever had. It was difficult to hear my partner over my groans of pleasure from each bite! The sushi chef was knowledgeable and had amazing technique. The menu he curated was unforgettable. Uni, truffles, caviar, A5 wagyu! And so many different kinds of fish!! My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The food was imaginative, fresh, and above and beyond my expectations. I will be back time and time again. 10/10 flawless service and food.

Google
This spot is stunningly decorated—perfect for date nights, celebrations, or just hanging out with friends. The bar is spacious with plenty of seating, making it easy for walk-ins to settle in. We ordered maki and sashimi, and they were among the best we’ve had in Jax. The total price includes tip, which makes for a smooth checkout experience. Cocktails were artfully crafted and delicious, though service could be a bit quicker when it comes to getting drinks to the table.

Yelp
With no doubt one of the top sushi places in Jacksonville! The creativity and attention to detail and flavor in all of the food items was incredible. My favourite was the Luxury roll, but if you are a first timer here you have to also try the surf + turf roll! OMG The service was excellent, funny and making us feel very welcomed at Norikase; big kudos to the staff! The decoration inside the place is like very few places in Jax, it looks upscale but cozy. You would never go wrong to come here for any special occasion!

Yelp
Unforgettable 1st Omakase experience to celebrate my 21st Birthday for the 10th time this year! Every course was a tiny work of art. Highlights for me: 9 different nigiri: melt-in-your-mouth and perfectly balanced. Seasonal sashimi flight, delicately sliced & tasted like the ocean in the best way. A warm, salmon, tomato & tamarind -packed miso broth served as last savory dish meal that refreshed the palate for the final bites. ( I however preferred the original mini soup without the touch of sinigang) The pacing was spot on: just enough time to savor each piece while still keeping the excitement for what was next. The chef (Francis I believe) explained the ingredients and origin of each fish with genuine enthusiasm, which added so much to the experience. This place was originally Bento but now had been transformed into modern Japanese sushi restaurant that strikes that sweet spot between upscale and intimate. Lighting was soft, the counter seating in the private room let us watch the precision knife work up close, and the background music stayed pleasantly low. For a birthday dinner, it felt like the perfect combination of luxury and warmth. Price wise, it's definitely a splurge, but every bite makes it worthwhile: Thanks to my hubby! P.s If you're celebrating a special occasion in Jacksonville and love fresh sushi, book the 13 or 17-course omakase at Norikase, you won't regret it!.

Yelp
This restaurant is one of the best sushi spots in the area. The interior is clean and modern, and our server was friendly, fun, and attentive, explaining everything in detail and going above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience. The food was excellent: high-quality, beautifully presented, and with creative ingredient combinations that went far beyond the usual sushi offerings. We especially appreciated that the flavors were subtle and balanced, without heavy sauces like mayonnaise or excessive tempura flakes. The fish was fresh and top-notch. We were curious about the Joto sake, and our server kindly brought samples so we could try it first; we ended up really liking it. From the happy hour menu, we ordered beer, edamame, salmon maki roll, spicy maki roll, hamachi nigiri, chu-toro nigiri, and Brussels sprouts. The Sapporo beer was good, though we wished it had been colder and served in a chilled glass. The edamame was steamed, grilled, and coated with garlic and butter; delicious but heavy on garlic! The rolls (six pieces each) were good, and the Brussels sprouts were tasty with nori flakes, truffle oil, and apple slices. The standout, though, was the nigiri: fresh, simple, and truly delicious. Next time, we'd definitely order more of it. From the regular menu, we tried the miso soup, which was good but not the best we've had. The rice puffs in it were an interesting twist. We also ordered the Coconut King Salmon (six pieces instead of four from the happy hour menu at the same price per piece). It was fresh and flavorful, with the coconut cream enhancing rather than overpowering the salmon. We tried three rolls: the Luxury Roll, Aburi Sake Roll, and Surf & Turf Roll. All were good and come in 8 pieces, but the Luxury Roll was our favorite with its stronger wasabi kick. For dessert, we had the ice cream, matcha crème brûlée, and a special coconut panna cotta from the omakase menu which was on the house. All were excellent, especially the panna cotta with its unique, surprising flavors. A 20% service charge was added to the check as mentioned in the menu. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and look forward to coming back soon, especially since the menu changes seasonally.

Yelp
Omakase: "I'll leave it up to you", meaning chef's choice Great to experience once to celebrate a special occasion ie birthday, anniversary. Reservations online: $175 per person for 17 course. $75 per person for sake or wine pairing. Automatic 20% service charge plus taxes/fees when booked online. Cancel 72 hours in advance or else $75 per person penalty. Food: one complimentary drink paired with first dish. Everything was very fresh. Sadly, there was no eel. Areas of improvement: when you arrive, you wait a while by the hostess stand to go to the back. I wish they would usher you to the back or patio where they used to give you complimentary champagne while you wait. And they used to take your Polaroid picture by the floral sign after dinner. Would recommend to try it once but this place is not on my rotating list to come back to.

Yelp
This was a very pricey restaurant for sure and it gets so crowded. Customer service wasn't that great but the food presented was awesome and the food was good. I wouldn't come back but it's definitely a must try at least once. It's great for first dates or special occasions it there wasn't anything special to make me feel I needed to come back.

Yelp
Place is a rip off. You order one thing and get something else. They charge you twice then put their own tip on the bill! Waiver was a complete joke. J Cody

Yelp
Did the Omakase for our Anniversary, and it did not disappoint. We had the wine pairing with the different courses, and the selected drinks did not miss. The chefs explanation of each course gave us the perfect amount of information and anticipation for each bite. A little pricey for everyday, but definitely a recommendation if you have a special night you want to celebrate.

Yelp
Norikase was the perfect spot for happy hour with the gals. We worked our way through much of the Kanpai Hour menu & every bite was absolutely delicious! My absolute favorite was the coconut king salmon which I enjoyed with my specialty cocktail, the Don't Break My Heart (haku japanese vodka | yuzu | lychee | strawberry | raspberry | cranberry). The bites we shared -coconut king salmon -crispy brussel sprouts -garlic edamame -jalapeño hamachi -karaage (with yuzu dipping sauce) -madai crudo I loved the entire vibe & service was excellent, especially our main server Leida.

Yelp
We decided to have a spontaneous dinner on a random Friday evening. We were able to get seated within two minutes and I feel lucky as this place is normally very busy. We appreciated the free parking lot right outside the restaurant The ambience is classy and trendy. We were surprised to see the Fire dancer who performed amazing feats with fire, including breathing and swallowing flames. We sampled some of the nonalcoholic drinks Which were tasty and picture worthy. Our waitress was attentive and prompt. She recommended that we order sushi, sashimi, and sides as we enjoy the evening. We ended up ordering dish after dish and bring each bite. Everyone seem to be dressed in a more upscale manner, which gave a classy vibe. The meal seemed more elevated than your standard sushi restaurant. I recommend this place for a date night always close friends. Expect to pay more than average, but I think you do get premium experience.

Yelp
Finally was able to come for the omakase experience and it did not disappoint. Everything was so fresh and it was hard to pick what our favorite was. A few top contenders were the otoro, Japanese red snapper, and tuna toast. This was from the spring menu and as you know omakase is up to what the chef makes so your experience will likely be different. Only dish we both didn't love was dessert but the rest was The wait staff was on top of it, our glasses were never empty and overall it's just so damn cute.

Yelp
Very high quality sushi and bar program. Some slight hiccups with a missed a la carte order. Omikase is probably better to go with so there are no missteps. If your dining partners are picky eaters maybe ask them to join you somewhere else another time. It feels weird to order a rice bowl that is sub par compared to the elegant hamachi and otorro selections. If anyone is your party is causing a fuss, you can always order them a Drama Queen roll.
google avatar

Brandon A.

Yelp
Definitely get reservations. The lighting was low. The bar was packed. The restaurant was full, but not too noisy. Friendly staff. Got the happy hour yellow tail appetizer, spicy tuna roll, and the Drama Queen. A lot of food! Very tasty. Will definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Stopped in during happy hour for a drink and some edamame at the bar top. Drinks were good, edamame was good and came out quickly. When the bill came around, there was a "20% service charge" already added. We were unsure if that was an already included tip, and asked just to double check. The bartenders then became rude, asking if we have ever dined with them before and laughing as if it were a dumb question. That left a sour taste in my mouth and makes me not want to return, when I was interested in coming back for dinner prior to that encounter.

Yelp
Wonderful ambiance and great Happy Hour menu! We loved the feel of this restaurant. It brought big city vibes with the elegance and sleek look of the restaurant. All the drinks and food that we ordered were fresh and delicious. Some highlights included the Bees Knees drink and the Jalapeno Hamachi. Service was very attentive to our wants and needs. We will definitely visit again soon to experience the full menu.
google avatar

Kelsey C.

Yelp
The restaurant is well decorated on the inside, though we sat on the patio which they did a good job making feel like you aren't in a parking lot though there was a foul smell we kept getting whiffs of. I would recommend eating inside. We started with the Ebi Koge, which were shrimp dumplings, and the Popping Tuna Crudo. Both were delicious. We then split the Spider Roll and Luxury Roll. While both were tasty, the Luxury roll was amazing. This was a great spot for upscale sushi. I will definitely be back to try the omakase.
google avatar

Murphy M.

Yelp
Really good sushi but ridiculously overpriced. No sushi restaurant in Jax should charge more than high end LA and NYC sushi. And stop with the auto gratuity...it's counter to ensuring staff does a good job. If the server is good then trust your customers will tip them.
google avatar

Lili T.

Yelp
My large group came for kanpai hour on a Friday night. The bites we ordered (spicy tuna roll and garlic butter edamame) were so delicous. The rosie mocktail and shots were delicious, as well. The bartenders really know what they're doing! I will say, I think the late night hours could benefit from a selection of cheaper pre-mixed drinks that they could quickly sling. The tables and chairs could also be reoriented to promote easier conversation between large friend groups. This is probably not the vibes the restaurant is going, but it would definitely encourage more late night group outings. I don't think I would come back with a large friend group as the restaurant vibes are better for a more intimate date night. I've heard from friends that the service can be slow during dinner, but since we were one of the only groups there at the time, the waiters were very attentive so no complaints there!

Yelp
Great arrive. Beautiful atmosphere and amazing sushi. Out party also tried the ribeye and said it was one of the best steaks they've ever had.

Yelp
Norikase was a nice stop in, it was just me and my son. Service was wonderful and easy to make a reservation. I ordered Nigiri and the blood orange Akami ( best thing of the night) the Akami has delicious flavor! The nigiri price comes with 2 pieces, which can be pricey if you want to try different fish. I like to try fish and test out the menu and I felt like I couldn't do that because the prices were insane. The omakase that was going on next to us , seemed like they were waiting around for a piece of nigiri for a while but at least the drinks were flowing and the chefs were interactive! I might have to try that next time. Great atmosphere and the service was great!
google avatar

Yelp
Drinks yes please, Old fashioned.... They got rid of my thyme drink :( Whisky the barrel he loved Hubs loves the popping tuna The drama queen order 2! Jalapeño hamachi it was okay Truffle mushrooms as a side hubs says is a must

Yelp
Wow wow wow ! Better than Nobu.. We drove several hours to come eat here . The sushi is high quality. Everthing melts in your mouth. They have a happy hour as well 5-7 . The sauces on the dishes are full of flavor and very unique. It leaves you wanting more and more. Service is also one of a kind . Dont miss out !

Yelp
I don't know I was missing this sort of sushi in my life -- and I don't know JAC had a sushi place that could be like this. Everything we had was amazing - from the sushi, the nigiri, the drinks, the edamame, to the deserts. The spicy tuna was out of this world as was the poached pear dessert. Fresh ingredients, high quality fish, and amazing service. What more could you want?

Yelp
What a treat to have in Jacksonville. I had a celebratory dinner here on a Saturday night. We were seated in the back dining room across from the omakase seatings. This is a great ambiance for a date night as it's quiet and full of intimate 2-person tables; however, if you're interested in a more lively environment, I would recommend booking the bar room. We started with a couple of cocktails and sushi rolls. Everything is made to order and tapas-style, so it will come out as it's made rather than all dishes coordinated at one. The cocktails took quite awhile to come out as the bar was backed up, but we were enjoying one another's company and the atmosphere so we didn't mind. We order the spicy tuna and aburi sake roll, both of which were delicious. The aburi sake roll had torched salmon on top and was served warm. The spicy tuna roll was fresh and had a nice layer order jalapeño for kick. We also ordered the filet mignon, which was delicious but did take over an hour to come out. This was accompanied by broccolini and a potato dish, both of which were hot and well-seasoned. Because the food and drinks took awhile to come out, the waiter was incredibly accommodating and comped the rest of our drinks and offered a crudo or dessert on the house. While we politely declined, I cannot fault their service as they recognized the issue and were willing to accommodate accordingly; thus, 5 stars it is! I'll definitely be back to try the omakase one day!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place! You won't get another place for flavor and fresh fish, the romantic ambiance then Norikase. Everything is very good. This is my third time here and it has never disappointed me.
google avatar

Yelp
Just finished up eating my first two rolls here. I get Sushin when traveling because my wife isn't into it. This place is exceptional. I had the Drama Queen and Hamachi Hustler rolls. Very good. Great service and vibe, too. Highly recommend.

Yelp
We went to Norikase for the Omakase 17 course experience. It was absolutely magnificent! The 2 chefs were so awesome! They were so personable and talked with us all and explained so much. Getting to watch them prepare the food was great. Everything was fresh and tasted so good! My husband and a family member each did a couple flights of Japanese whiskey. They both really enjoyed the selections. The service, food and ambiance were all perfect. Highly recommend booking this experience. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
What a treat to be treated. From the moment walking in to Norikase it was love at first sight. Arriving a bit early for our Omakase Tasting we bellied up to the bar. Ordered a drink and enjoyed the fire show from a far. The time finally came and we were escorted to the private Omakase Sushi Bar. Six strangers my son and I were greeted with a welcome cocktail and delicious oyster. Then the magic and deliciousness began. For the next 2 hours our tongues danced with delightful sushi delicacies. It was magic! The Master Sushi Chef and his assistant were entertaining and talented. I highly recommend this treat to everyone. Pics included but names I forgot.

Yelp
Wifey n I decided to try this place for date night and IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! From the moment we walked in to the moment we left was top notch! The vibe was very chill and aesthetically pleasing Our server Micheal was the best, very knowledgable of the menu and had some great recommendations Everything we ordered was so good, from the drinks to the apps to our main courses.. the surf and turf literally melted in your mouth The king crab rice was very seasoned and flavorful Pork belly was tender and juicy nice flavor as well Cucumber salad was delicious Drinks were nice and strong Will definitely be adding this to our list of fave places to dine.
google avatar

Tyler E.

Yelp
MY NEW FAVORITE SPOT! Micheal made the experience! Reason for visiting: Date Night Day & Time: 6-9:30pm on Friday Party of: 2 Reservations: YES! Reserve before you go! Order Type: Dine-in Waiter: MICHEAL!!!!! He had great recommendations and made the experience the absolute best! Service: Friendly, attentive, and fast. The all work together there and they make sure your table is cleared of anything that is empty. Ambiance: a vibe! We were in the back area which was very intimate. Some low nights and a little music has definitely set the mood. Food Order: -Appetizer: surf and turf roll: DELICIOUS AS IS! Cucumber salad: average but good -Drink: French 75: my go to and it didn't disappoint, espresso martini: very good, don't break my heart: sweet and tasty -Entree: king crab clay pot rice: SOOOOOOO YUMMY, Pork Belly: Very good Extras: Portion Size: all of this was shareable Conclusion: If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Micheal was so attentive and spot on with his recommendations. The surf and turf roll had waygu that was so tender and buttery. The king crab rice also just melted in your mouth and the pork belly was a great choice as well, it was so flavorful. The prices are expensive but the experience and food is worth every dollar. Also worthy to note that there is a 20% service fee but we ended up tipping anyways because it was the best dining experience that I have had in Jax. We will be going back. They also have a great happy hour menu too and the place is photo friendly for the content creators! This is Ty Approved and I will be recommending this place to others! Thanks again Micheal and see you again soon!

Yelp
Okay, I never leave 5-star reviews. I'm the type of person who will give four stars to a cloud for being "a little too fluffy." But Norikase? This place broke me. I'm emotionally and spiritually unprepared for how GOOD it is. We came here to celebrate a birthday and did the tasting menu, which honestly felt less like dinner and more like a Michelin-starred fever dream. Now, here's the kicker: we just had sushi in JAPAN. Actual Japan. Land of sushi perfection. But after Norikase, we found ourselves saying, "Remember Norikase?"--like it was a long-lost love we met on a mountaintop and never got over. The atmosphere? Sleek. Intimate. Mysterious. It's like the secret underground sushi lair Batman would go to on his day off. Service? Impeccable. The chef even made us feel cool, which is no easy task (we're not cool). Norikase isn't just a restaurant--it's an experience. A life event. A "cancel your plans and book a res" level experience. If I could give it six stars, I would. But then I'd have to update my cloud rating, and I'm not ready for that.

Yelp
Everything was incredible! The vibe, the food, the service, the decor - literally everything was amazing! We did just the regular menu but plan to go back for the Omakase!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite sushi experiences in Jacksonville. The atmosphere reminds me of a sushi restaurant you could find in New York, and has a nice dim lighting, perfect for a date night. My favorite sushi roll was the Luxury roll, that tasted so fresh, the salmon was the perfect texture that wasn't too soft, and had a good balance of flavors. I love when my sushi tastes refreshing, which is how'd I'd describe the luxury roll. The surf & turf roll was my second favorite, the wagyu was delicious and you could taste each ingredient that made up the roll. The cocktails were adorable! I recommend the Don't Break My Heart cocktail, which has notes of Yuzu, lychee and cranberry. They're also in cute shaped glasses. Shoutout to pastry chef Tina who made our Tiramisu! It was light and delicious, she perfected my favorite dessert. 10/10!!

Yelp
Celebrated my bday there and I was treated to the Omakase experience. Each course was mind altering delicious and it was magic watching the chefs do their thing. My only critique was that I had the sake pairing and the timing was off. He poured it much too late after the dish it was supposed to be paired with. There was also a large party happening outside and every time someone came and went through the door, it brought in freezing winds. Besides that, I thoroughly enjoyed the dinner. The chef was very personable and you could feel his love for the food he was putting out. I would definitely go again! Maybe to try their 17 course or just trying their regular dinner menu.

Yelp
This is my very favorite place in Jacksonville!.. I booked the 17 course Omakase and was not disappointed at all.Everyone was so involved in the experience.Chef Akira telling us about releasing the umami and being very hands on explaining the courses.Tasting the quality of each course and watching them being prepared we all just fell in love.Chef will be releasing a fall menu as well.I will be keeping an eye out for that.We were warned the experience on the restaurant side and private dining side is completely different. They were absolutely right!.. we asked for drink menus, water and napkins after waiting 20 mins.We received the menus & napkins no water after 35 minutes we cut of losses and left.So just book the Omakase that's where all the love is

Yelp
Food was good and nice environment. Waiter seemed to be trying too hard to run up the tab. Worth a trip...taste seemed fresh for rolls. Alcohol was fine but nothing special.

Yelp
Quick summary: good food, okay service, food delays, and enough errors that we wouldn't return again. We made reservations for my husband's birthday dinner on Saturday night. We got there at 5:45 for 6 pm reservations and they told us we would have to wait for our table. We sit at the bar and get cocktails. We are pleasantly surprised to see happy hour so we get bees knees and French 75 both were great. We were offered an edamame and I was like I didn't order but we will eat it. I at first thought they brought it to us for the wait for our table. She said no it's only if you ordered it. It was 6:07 and no sign of being seated so we order another cocktail and we say we will close out so we can tip out. Bartender says they like you to close out anyway because it gets confusing for waiters. So we hand over a credit card and then we see the bill and we are charged $30 for food we don't eat. Get it refunded no big deal but at this point we are told we can be seated so we are delayed in seating. Trying to figure out how to write total and tip in new bill without correct price being listed. We get seated and it takes awhile for anyone to come to table. We do get waters and have someone else put in crudo and edamame for us. We get the edamame brought to us and eventually our drinks we paid for at the bar. Awhile after the edamame comes the truffle mushrooms which were wonderful. The murikase cocktail was great. We got the king crab pot rice and it was okay: I had crab shell in mine I had to remove from my mouth. Not worth $38 or whatever it was having had fresh king crab from Alaska this summer. Not a lot of king crab was in the actual pot. Wouldn't order again. Then we get the dream roll, it was good, but I have had better jalapeno and tuna rolls. The waitress asked if we wanted ginger and wasabi before she took our order and my husband said yes-spoiler alert, we didn't get it. Next dish was the popping rice crudo dish-excellent would have two servings just of that. Then we had the hamachi-good dish but not a great dish. My husband and I at this point from having great cocktails at the bar talking about coming back for omakase menu to maybe just coming back for happy hour after issues. We were surprised the cold dishes-crudo was served to us last. Had a manager person ask if we were celebrating when husband was in bathroom and I said my husbands birthday also noted on reservations made online. Nothing was said or done for him entire night(not a big deal but a happy birthday would have been nice). Then we get the bill- we are charged for additional food we didn't get and drinks we already paid for at the bar- an overcharge of around $75. The waitress came back and was like I didn't think that was right. It took around 10 minutes to get a corrected bill and then brings it to us and says they are still checking to make sure we paid for our drinks at the bar. We lay down a credit card seeing the bill is correct, and we still wait another 10 minutes for it to be picked up. During this time my husband goes to the bathroom and says the urinals are overflowing and got on his shoes. By the time we left, we decided we wouldn't return. Sadly this place has great cocktails, excellent mushrooms, and the popping hamachi was wonderful. However, delayed seating, delayed food service, crab shell, incorrectly billed twice, was enough to detour us from returning again. It took over 2 hours and 15 minutes and we ordered everything as soon as we had a waitress come to the table. All the delays and errors caused us to text our babysitter to see if she could stay longer. I'm honestly wondering if I'll have to dispute credit card charges in the next week.

Yelp
Ah, I love this place! The omakase experience is absolutely incredible. 17 courses of beautiful raw fish with flavors that I've never tasted before!! I enjoyed a cocktail before heading back to the omakase bar. Their menu changes seasonally, and I already want to go back. Their happy hour at the bar also looks awesome and I know they do a special discount day on oysters and bubbles. That is on my radar! Back to the omakase tasting...Service by Emily was fabulous. I felt like I was on Chef's Table watching Chef Akira work his magic. This was my first time trying brown butter uni on a fresh scallop. HEAVEN! Literally melted in my mouth like butter. Another highlight was the toro tuna belly. We finished with mango cheesecake and were officially in a food coma. You have to book this special experience in advance, so be sure to plan ahead. 10 star experience. I also attended their first dj / wine night and had a fun time, although was disappointed in the food offered. When you think Norikase sushi, you think over the top beautiful colorful fresh sushi. I am sad to say the basic rolls served were absolutely not Norikase quality. Unlimited wine included in the ticket was great, but I would eat before attending next time.

Yelp
I went in a group of 4 to Norikase to experience the 17 Course Chef's Tasting Omikase. We were taken to the back of the restaurant where the ambiance is much quieter and seated at the private bar there. This was a special occasion for my sister's 19th birthday, and it was absolutely memorable. It requires a reservation to be a part of the 17 Course Tasting, at $175 per person. This is a fairly steep price, although I didn't feel at any point like were missing out on anything. My only complaint is that my fiancé was supposed to attend as well, but fell ill right beforehand, so we were unable to receive a refund for his seat despite being told on the phone that was possible. We did receive a $175 drink/food credit to make up for it though. I think it was just communicated poorly. The chef was preparing the food (honestly more like art) in front of us with another two people there to support him, and a waitress that attended to us regularly to ensure we had refills without asking and if we wanted to order additional food, we could. From what I understand, the tasting menu changes every night, but the one constant is the chef's pride: the Chilean Seabass garnished with pickled eggplant and an edible flower. This was the most tender, beautifully cooked piece of fish I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I took my time to enjoy the way the flavors mixed, and was thoroughly disappointed when the experience was over. The menu was extensive so I'll post a screenshot of the notes I managed to make along with the photos, but I think that the food was amazing quality, prepared beautifully, and tasted great. I'm a pretty picky eater, but enjoyed every item there.

Yelp
Sat at the bar, bartenders were not engaging, they didn't understand their own menu and had to be called several times to make drinks and provide service. The sushi was decent but not worth the $200 tab we had for poor service. We will not visit again!

Yelp
My partner and I visited last Saturday for our 12-year anniversary. I was looking around and couldn't believe that I had not seen this particular sushi restaurant before. The pictures made this location look elegant and the food and drinks were at a premier level. I made a reservation and the staff had everything ready within minutes once we arrived. We got started with a couple of tequila cocktails which were perfectly balanced and just started picking things off the menu to try. Not one item we had chosen was below five stars. The sashimi and sushi was next level along with a couple of the cooked tapas that we had tried. I really have been trying to find a sushi place that performed at this level and I'm happy to have finally found it here in Jacksonville. A couple of things that I didn't prefer at this price point was that our waitress was a little new and the ambiance of this location can fool you a little bit when you look at the pictures. This place is still in a strip and there are a lot of windows. At the time we went which was around 6:00 at night the sun shines right in to the windows and it can be a little unpleasant depending on where you're sitting. I'm sure when it's completely dark the lighting in this place really does wonders for the ambience but until then it leaves something to be desired. It's not enough to take it down a star because the food and drinks were so incredible but it made me feel like that there was some room for improvement. These are excellent dishes that are being provided with prices that reflect that but you want everything to completely exceed your expectations when you're paying these prices including the wait staff and the ambience. That's not to say I won't be back because I certainly will. I want to try one of their Omakase dinners one of these days because that seems like a really wonderfully unique experience that I haven't had yet.

Yelp
Drinks 10/10 and Food 10/10 Everything on the menus is tasty and delicious. It's very flavorful, restaurant food and drinks quality reminds me of New York. Never a disappointment!

Yelp
This restaurant is beautiful and so eloquently decorated. The hostess and other staff are so friendly and accommodating. The hostess assisted with suggesting plates to try. I was a little disappointed as they were out of several items and no longer serve their oysters or hand rolls. All of the dishes we tried were fantastic and a great combination of flavors. Would love to see the oysters come back and try again when they aren't out of certain items.

Yelp
Stepping into Norikase you will think you are no longer in Jacksonville. More like an upscale city bar. It's adorable and service is amazing. We had Mimi and she was wonderful and attentive. See my photos for some of the food we had on kanpai "happy" hour. The food was exceptional, with the exception of the cucumber salad! Well worth happy hour prices which last from 5-7pm Tuesday through Saturday. You don't have to sit in a certain area to get happy hour either. My friend liked her French 75s. If we weren't going to a movie right after and having popcorn, I would have had more food. We'll be back soon!

Yelp
A real gem of Japanese restaurant with a modern twist. We enjoyed a few happy hour treats and a couple of rolls, which were very tasty and presented well. Our server, Mimi was perfect. Overall we enjoyed the food and the ambiance as the seating was comfortable. I recommend reservations, as by 700pm on a Tuesday the place was getting packed

Yelp
Norikase serves various handrolls, but that alone won't fill us up so after seeing their new kitchen menu items, my wife and I decided it's time to have dinner here. We pretty much know what each of us will order. Once seated, we put in our cocktails. I ordered the birdie drink (chisai tori) because it's cute and my wife ordered the Japanese Negroni which we enjoyed. But when it's time to order our Mains, our server informed us that the kitchen is out of commission. Wow! Now, we're stuck on ordering sushi. Went ahead and ordered the Golden California roll, the Surf and Turf roll, and an Ebi handroll. Pricey! We had to stop there for now. We will visit again when their kitchen is up and running and revise my review. Going to stop by Chickfila on our way home.

Yelp
Went with two other couples. Total costs over $3k. So be aware. Cool place for drinks, apps, music and a lady that plays with fire. But in this economy it's not worth it to me. Service was great. The sushi was sushi. The chicken was chicken. The drinks were drinks. Again, cool vibe and atmosphere as if you're not in Jacksonville...but you are. Wish I would have taken pics to share and convey my points, but I was with others and wanted to be respectful of their company.

Yelp
My first time there. I arrived and had to cancel my reservation. The music inside the restaurant was playing as loud as a dance night club. How anyone could possibly enjoy eating there is beyond me.

Yelp
Service, ambiance and company was 5 stars. We got there around happy hour so enjoyed a few cocktails ahead of dinner. We ordered a number of things including a roll, black tiger prawn, king crab clay pot rice, fish, and 2 desserts. Everything was flavorful and everyone enjoyed their meals, but a few people left hungry. Portions are on the smaller side while prices seemed a bit high. We enjoyed the night, nonetheless.
