North Italia Brings Simple Italian Fare and Popular Happy Hour Deals to Brickell - Eater Miami

"Drake-approved Italian chain North Italia (900 S. Miami Avenue, Suite 111) has officially debuted in Brickell inside the former Oceanaire spot, marking its 16th location in the U.S. but first in the Sunshine State. Led by general manager Juan Carlos Marchan and executive chef Ryan Smith, the restaurant is now open for weekend brunch, lunch, dinner, and happy hour, serving up traditional yet somewhat predictable Italian fare like antipasti, salads, pastas, pizzas and entrées. The nearly 8,600-square-foot space features an exhibition kitchen that overlooks the dining room and bar area seating up to 316 guests between the indoor and patio spaces. The restaurant seems to be best known for its Brickell appropriate, after-work scene, offering a bottle & board special with a choice of pizza, bruschetta or chef’s board with a bottle of wine for $25. That deal has made its way to the Magic City and is available from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday to Thursday. The restaurant is now open daily from Sunday to Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday until midnight, while brunch is served Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call 786-475-9100 for more details." - Olee Fowler

This place never disappoints! We sat at the bar and tried their specialty drinks which were great. We mostly had appetizers which were all amazing and the service was even better! Gilbert was extra helpful and gave some great food recommendations. We tried the truffle bread, burrata, yellowtail, meatballs, and mushroom truffle pizza - loved all of it! Great date night spot with a lot of entertainment around the area.

Google
North Italia is an excellent restaurant to go with family or friends. Definitely good atmosphere and good food; the service was great as well. This place a nice to go for lunch or diner and enjoy a vast variety of foods and drinks in the menu, as well as to go for pre drinks and watch a game. The desserts are great too. It has options of indoors and outdoors areas. Location is perfect; right in the heart of Brickell; walking distance from everywhere.

Very nice restaurant. It was a party of 4 and everyone enjoyed their meal, drinks, and desserts. We did make reservations so little to no wait. Service was excellent. Could definitely be a great place for a romantic date

Good was very good. As good as it gets. Not best Italian food for good for a night. Drinks were the best and staff was friendly. The place is super nice and fancy for a first date type or a group dinner.

Google
North Italia its close to home and the food is amazing, I really really like it, the service is amazing, I've tried different dishes and shared appetizers like the garlic white truffle oil bread and calamari fritti, I've tried the braised short ribs masala 10/10 and chicken scarpariello. My favorite so far the short ribs. Great food I do recommend it.

😋😋😋😋😋 Taste of Italy at NorthItaly Brickell My recent visit to NorthItaly in Brickell left a pleasant impression, particularly thanks to their delicious prosciutto pizza. The pizza itself was a highlight. The crust was perfectly cooked – crisp on the outside with a satisfying chew, and the balance of the rich prosciutto with the melted cheese and a hint of fresh tomato sauce was spot on. It truly transported me to a classic Italian pizzeria. While my focus was primarily on the pizza, the overall ambiance of NorthItaly Brickell felt inviting and authentic, creating a comfortable setting for a meal. The service was efficient and friendly, ensuring a smooth dining experience. For anyone craving authentic Italian pizza in the Brickell area, NorthItaly is definitely worth a visit. The prosciutto pizza alone is reason enough to return

Google
An excellent place to enjoy Miami’s nightlife. The terrace is simply spectacular—perfect for relaxing and soaking in the city’s vibrant atmosphere. The food is delicious, with flavors that truly surprise, and Alberto’s service was exceptional: attentive, friendly, and always with a smile. Without a doubt, a spot worth visiting, where you can feel the local vibe and, why not, discover new flavors that will win you over.

Google
Great location to people-watch the Brickell crowd, while enjoying happy hour cocktails and well-priced food items. Many patrons bring their dogs to sit in the outdoor patio area. Service can be slow when it gets crowded, though. Parking can be difficult.

Yelp
Had the porchetta sandwich and almost died. It was the most delicious sandwich I can remember. Meatballs also awesome. Service so good it was shocking for Miami standards. Welcoming to my dog also!!!

Yelp
Came to North Italia for the first time on Saturday to try out their Miami spice menu. I used to be a Miami spice feen but feel like this year the menus are really lacking, yet this menu stood out to me as being good and having tons of options. We went right when they opened at 11am and sat outside to people watch. Our server was incredible she was a woman that gave us the best recommendations and was familiar with everything on the menu, plus was constantly checking up on us. We started with the cacio e Pepe ariancini and the prosciutto fried bites which was pasta fried. Both were amazing and a really good portion. We had the pollo frito entree which was a huge portion. The chicken was breaded perfectly and the gravy was thick and hearty. We also had the salmon avocado toast which was good but I wish we would've gone with something else as it was a single slice of toast and compared to the other meals it was super small. The best part was the dessert! We had the bruleed blackberry cake and olive oil lemon cake. The lemon cake was so light and not sweet at all. You could eat all of it super easily and it was refreshing. The brûlée was one of my favorite desserts super sweet but balanced with the tarts blackberries. I would skip the brunch cocktails since they were super weak but the food was incredible and we will be back before spice is over to try the rest of the menu!

Yelp
Came here with some friends and wasn't disappointed. This chain is amazing. The restaurant is very much like the one in aventura. Very cool and great vibe. Love how the kitchen has windows which allow you to look inside. We all had different plates which were all delicious! we made the mistake in ordering appetizers which were equally as good but very filling. Our server was also amazing. Very attentive and quick.

Yelp
I have come here with and without reservation. The service is phenomenal, the food is tasty, and for the price for the portion of food you get is great. We've ordered appetizers and main pasta dishes and they were all delicious. my favorite is the chicken pesto and strozzapreti. Definitely a restaurant to come to.
google avatar

Alfredo H.

Yelp
The restaurant is very well decorated and the ambiance is inviting , the tables close to the front are very warm since they insist on keeping the doors open and allowing the Miami vapor to enter, the lentil soup is one of the worst I've tried and the meat balls are flavorless and dry, the only dish was that average was the pasta bolognese. This is a NTR ( Never to Return ) place.

Yelp
Italian restaurant in the middle of Mary Brickell Village. Happy hour is Monday - Thursday only. They are very Pet friendly and brought a water bowl out for the little one. Ordered a few things to share and they split them up for us. The margherita pizza with hot honey was good. Spicy rigatoni was delish and had a kick. This place was not too busy, probably don't need reservations even on a Friday evening. They have a large bar and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so good for groups.

Yelp
North Italia is an excellent option to enjoy Italian fare, drinks and people watch in Brickell. That's exactly what me and my friends did on New Year's Eve when we visited. I had only ever tried North Italia for takeout before and so it was nice to be able to experience in real life. Our server- Nico I believe was his name- was super nice. We started with cocktails and I did enjoy my espresso martini. Then the three of us split a meatball pizza, simple salad, and tuna crudo. All of them were great but I loved the simple salad. It's topped with either blue cheese or gorgonzola which is the perfect balance to all the freshness. We also enjoyed some bottles of wine- they have a well priced Sauvignon Blanc. Would definitely visit again. The outdoor seating area is very dog friendly and they have a pretty large bar that spans to the outdoor area as well.

Yelp
The service at North Italia has gone down the tubes. My friend and I went there on Monday night, sat outside, and experienced long waits for everything. The wait staff blamed the kitchen for things being slow, but there were also issues with the water (which was totally within the wait staff's control). The long delays and constantly having to flag down our waiter (in a restaurant which was only at maybe half capacity) was very frustrating. I must note that the Bolognese was delicious. The quality of the food and the amazing location are what kept me from leaving a one star.

Yelp
The service is beyond slow at the bar especially when it isn't busy ! I went twice around 4 pm and was ignored for a while by the bartender. The smell of garbage vomit and dirty rags is so overwhelming in and near the bar area I was grossed out and left ! This is such a huge disappointment that the restaurant and management don't care !
google avatar

Yelp
The service from the waiter and hostess was exceptional. The waiter ensured we like the meals we chose and everything we ordered was off the Miami Spice menu. The only thing I don't like was their peach Bellini I've had several before and ordering one from North Italia it wasn't soo great they need to change the peach purée they are using. Overall, the food was delicious and mouth watering even the banana coffee cake it was soo moist and delicate. You're able to have conversations in the restaurant there are tvs if you wanted to watch the game or news. The restaurant itself does they carry themselves at a high standard it was very inviting and a great place to enjoy a meal. I came here on a Sunday it wasn't busy at first but I do recommend to make a reservation.

Yelp
Great lunch spot in brickell. This place has my favorite salmon anywhere and I order it every time. Feels spacious and welcoming, with lots of daylight coming in. My group did Miami spice this time, and everything was delicious from the meatballs to the arancini to the desserts. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Not the best Italian place honestly. Its american kind of Italian food. Too greasy for my liking. They have a nice hazelnut dessert though. Their pesto pasta is ok.

Yelp
I went the other day to this amazing restaurants with my sister and it was such a great experience. My sister and I shared the garlic shrimp as an appetizer it was delicious. She had a rib pasta which was delicious but had a lot of lemon to it. I had a pork dish and it was so delicious. We shared a tiramisu dessert and it was honestly the best Tiramisu I have ever had. The server Efrain was super attentive and sweet. We would like for him to be our server when we go back. Thanks North Italia for the wonderful experience.

Yelp
Wow how the mighty do fall. North Italia used to be a consistent, reliable spot, not any more. Food: let's begin with the most important aspect and the most highly weighted factor, the food! I had been coming here for some time...the food was always on point...orgasmically so. Tonight however, they came no where close. I dunno if they changed the ingredients, the cooks, or both but talk about a wasted plate. The pesto dish looked like it was radioactive. The short rib pasta was a disaster...big noodles and watery sauce...it was bathing and evaporated the rich flavor of the short rib. We are it because we were hungry. 1 out of 5 Service: sat us quickly but then waited well over 15mins to be acknowledged. No water, no look in our direction. In fact one guy looked as though he were actively avoiding eye contact. The waiter who eventually came never once asked how the food was. He was prompt and polite but not attentive. 3 out of 5 stars. Overall, whatever they changed was for the worst. My expectations of food and service were high, due to previous experiences. They delivered well below... may be time to move on.

Yelp
The food is always great and great price ! Their miami spice menu was so good and filling ! Great wine for great prices! Santiago our server was super attentive and profesional. We did not love how they brought out the entree while we were still eating our appetizer that was annoying (that wasn't Santiago) The table we got was horrible it was close to the kitchen extremely hot area like there was no A/C.

Yelp
Lively Saturday evening in Brickell; we were seated right away outdoors. We tried a summer Cosmo cocktail which was sweet and tangy, around $15. The pasta dishes were solid. The spicy rigatoni vodka was probably the best dish, followed by the squid ink tonnarelli. For a lighter fare, the seasonal vegetable salad was delicious with dollops of goat cheese, sweet corn, asparagus, avocado and broccolini tossed together with herb vinaigrette. We took off some stars for the long wait time and the way it was handled. Our drinks came after 20 minutes, and our food took 45 minutes. Our waiter was very kind and said he spoke to the manager about our food; the manager came by to apologize. At the end of the meal, a member of our party asked if our drinks (1 coors light and 1 cocktail) could be on the house but this was refused. We were offered a free dessert instead but by that time we were ready to leave. I think it was reasonable to ask for those drinks complimentary and it was a little rude this request was not honored.

Yelp
First night in Miami, decided to try Italian! Location is Heart of Brickell, outdoor and indoor seating Service was amazing, waiter gave us recommendations and quick service Dim lighting inside, and nice seating outdoors on the patio We ordered the fungi pizza- always a favorite. Calamari was extremely fresh and crunchy! Aniline which was ok. Overall, great experience!

Yelp
I visited today as a work luncheon. The hostess, bartenders and servers were very welcoming. They all greeted us when we arrived and as we walked to our table. The restaurant had a very cozy feel and I enjoyed the open air concept. Since it was lunchtime it wasn't very crowded. The food was amazing from appetizers to dessert I enjoyed everything.

Yelp
May or may not have been taking a picture of my purse instead of the food... but I'm so glad I captured the food. Went for lunch with my mom and asked to split the Italian farm salad with chicken, and the waiter was kind enough to bring it in two plates. It was very tasty, and very filling. We also got a Caprese Sandwich, but I scarfed that down before I could take a pic.
google avatar

Juan R.

Yelp
Food was so do with excessive calories in most plates. Not worth it. There are so many better options around

Yelp
I had a great date night dinner at North Italia! The best thing about this place is the ambiance -- it's located right in the heart of brickell and the people-watching is unmatched. I would highly recommend getting a table outside on the Main Street. It's a great environment to bring an out of town guest to show off Brickell. The prices are totally reasonable, especially for Brickell. It's not cheap but compared to some other places in the are, it's manageable. And I was surprised by how great the food was! Really delicious food and great salad selections that made being healthy(ish) at an Italian restaurant not too hard. The only reason I don't go here more often is because it's a chain restaurant so it sometimes feels less authentic than a miami local restaurant

Rode A.

Yelp
The piña colada was a lemonade, the pesto pasta was not pesto pasta and the waiter was worse than the piña colada, terrible service. The saddest thing is that I chose that restaurant for my birthday. I regretted that. La piña colada era una limonada , la pasta al pesto no era pasta al pesto y el mesero peor que la piña colada, pesimo servicio. Lo mas triste es que elegí ese restaurante para mi cumpleaños. Me arrepentí de eso .

Sofia C.

Yelp
Food was delicious! By far the best pasta I have ever had, it was cooked perfectly. Appetizers and dessert were really good. The only thing that was lacking is service. Our waiter wasn't attentive and we had to wait over 30 minutes for here to even acknowledge our table and get the check. She didn't even refill our waters we had to chase her down to do so. Ambiance is really nice though. I will be coming back, I believe this restaurant is worth coming back to. Compliments to the amazing chef!!
google avatar

Maria F.

Yelp
First time trying this establishment and I was very impressed. Ordered the regular cheese pizza and the dough was soft yet crispy at the ends. The sauce was amazing. Not sweet but tangy and delicious. The crust was thin and the cheese to bread ratio was spot on. Also orders their grilled bread and the topping was insane. I would definitely recommend trying this restaurant in Dadeland mall. It is part of a chain but I'm sure each place has its own unique appeal.

Yelp
This place blew me away. Went tonight for the first time and tried their Miami spice menu and it did not disappoint. The waiters were so nice and welcoming and such a great help. The heirloom tomatoes and burrata was so damn good that I am still drooling about it lol. The diver scallops were so good and the flavor to them was like a salt and pepper seasoning. And the risotto went perfect with it. The salted caramel budino had the combination of salt and sweet just right. Love the texture to it and the combo! The place has the perfect lighting and vibe for a date night or girls night out like we did.
google avatar

Fernanda G.

Yelp
Had the squid ink tonnarelli pasta and it did not disappoint! The sauce was a bit on the spicy side, which I enjoyed, and it was full of shrimp and calamari. Pro tip: order some bread on the side to dip in all of the leftover sauce! Might be my new go-to dish. Our server was a bit on the slow side, but it was a busy Sunday afternoon.
google avatar

Katrina P.

Yelp
Menu has few options. The food is basic, very commercial. Honestly, I would've preferred Olive Garden. Don't waste your time
google avatar

Katherine D.

Yelp
Stopped in for drinks around 8PM. Out of respect, we stopped by the host/hostess stand to ask where we could sit. The staff coldly told us that the bar was open if we could find a place to sit ourselves. Luckily, we did. Our bartender was super sweet and provided great recommendations on house cocktails! We were able to enjoy our drinks and watch basketball on one of the many TV screens. Drinks were delicious and we'll definitely come back to try more.
google avatar

Jessica K.

Yelp
Service was incredible and food was extremely good too! A little on the plain side but probably some of the best Italian you can get in Miami. Avoid white sauce pizza.
google avatar

Elaine L.

Yelp
I was overly disappointed yesterday. We arrived at 7:11pm, initially we were told that it would only take us 15 minutes to get in. That 15 minutes ended up becoming more like 35 to 40 minutes. And then when we sat down we waited for another hour before we could even get our food. During that time we waited, we didn't even have bread to snack on. We were absolutely starving. All I ordered was a salad. So of course when the food came, it wasn't anything extraordinary for me to get excited about. It was a beautiful restaurant, but for some reason they just didn't have it together last night. Such a shame. Otherwise I could have really enjoyed that place.

Yelp
Overall really enjoy North Italia, great variety, prices, good food, and great drinks as well. Perfect for a casual lunch/brunch or dinner Food: 7/10 def not the best Italian option around, but very good variety and price point. Drinks: 9/10 the new Italian I thought was great if you're a fan of a good spritz def would recommend Ambiance: 9/10 perfect weekend lunch/brunch spot, not too loud, good for a casual date night too Service: 7/10 quick drinks, food, and our server was average. We didn't get greeted sitting outside and had to move inside. Also we were never asked if we wanted another round when our glasses were empty Checked out North Italia for their Miami spice brunch ($35/pp includes appetizer, entree, dessert) this past Saturday. We walked in no reservation around 1pm and were seated right away. Initially we sat outside but we weren't greeted by a server for the first 20 minutes so we asked to move inside (it was just way too hot out without waters). After moving inside we got our drinks within 5 minutes of ordering, and our appetizers within 10. I had the New Italian spritz and my partner had a beer. The Spritz was well balanced and very refreshing Food: Crudo Di Carne: 10/10 highly recommend this one, creamy, cheesey, briny from the capers and pickles and black truffle. Only wished there was more! Charcuterie plate: 7/10 was avg., the bread was over toasted for my taste and it only included 1 variety of cheese (this wouldn't bother me if on the menu it didn't say "cheeses") Spicy rigatoni vodka: 7/10 sauce was very good but there was only 2 very small pieces of pancetta? Found that to be a lil strange. Other than that was good and I found it to be a perfectly sized portion Margarita Pizza: 7/10 very avg. margarita pizza, nothing special, prob would skip this one next time. Wouldn't recommend unless you're really craving a pizza Torta Caprese: 9/10 would get this again, loved the cherries with the rich chocolate. Can't go wrong with the classics Salted Carmel budino: 9/10 no complaints, very nice balance of salty to sweet. Personally too rich for more than just one bite, but that's just me Not pictured but the chicken parmigiana is to die for!

Yelp
Came here on a date night and had the best experience. The hostess sat us at a bigger table to begin with but the waitress was super nice and offered to move us to a smaller more intimate table. The vibes were perfect for a date night with dim lighting. We ordered the Caesar salad to start and it was very good we finished the whole thing. My boyfriend got the bolognese and he said it was good but nothing crazy. I order the roasted salmon and LOVED IT. Every part of the dish was so good, I would definitely come back for this.

Yelp
Hi! I had to work on a Sunday so I took my laptop to North Italia and can I just say I was cheered up enormously by the two Chris's, Richi and Sean! It made work a bit more bearable, they were super attentive and personable. Thank you!

Yelp
I visited North Italia for lunch with some coworkers about 3 weeks ago at their Brickell location. We were looking for a place to eat around the area and decided to stop here. It was around 11.45 am and the place had just opened a while ago so it was practically empty. The hostess took us to our table and our server brought us water and the menus right away. She brought the lunch menu and everything looked so good! We decided to start with the Burrata Di Stagione and it was delicious! It's an open burrata with dates jelly on top, roasted pistachios, and pancetta (we asked for the pancetta on the side). It was so creamy and the jelly was good! It just came with 3-4 pieces of bread so you will probably need to ask for some more bread, so refreshing! For entrees, one of my coworkers and I ordered the Caprese Sandwich, it had to option to be served with a side of salad or Parmesan French fries. I went for the salad and my coworkers for the fries (and the fries were better than the salad! So crispy!). I was expecting a little sandwich and to my surprise the sandwich was huge! Soft bread, with lots of Stracciatella, tomatoes with pesto bringing them together, such a delicious sandwich! The only thing is that the salad had way too much dressing making all the lettuce on the bottom soggy right away, so definitely will order it with the dressing on the side next time. My other coworkers ordered a pretty big salad and the other one a Braised Short Rib Lumache pasta that looked to die for. By the time we finished with our entrees, the place was full of people so I'm glad we got there early. Lunch was good and our service was good too.

Yelp
We dined at North Italia last night to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant itself is beautiful and well decorated with low lighting and located in beautiful downtown Miami. Upon arrival, our table was not ready, even though we made a reservation days in advance. Once we were seated and greeted by our server Helen C , we noticed that she had a bad attitude and continued to have bad attitude throughout the rest of our dinner, with us and other tables. Not sure if she just didn't put any effort in because we had a party of eight and she knew she would get an automatic 20% gratuity or if she just hates her job. All of our food lacked flavor and was disappointing. Our drinks were strong, probably to make up for the fact that our food was so horrible. We love north Italia and have dined here multiple times but this experience would probably prevent us from returning to this location ever again.
google avatar

Seth R.

Yelp
Service was excellent. Large open restaurant with room between the tables. Menu is good although a little limited. They went out of their way to try and accommodate special dietary requests although much of the dishes/ingredients are pre-prepared limiting flexibility. But overall we had a very nice experience and I would recommend the restaurant.

Yelp
This is probably my 3737383 review for this place ! I just wanted to continue to say this place is one of my fav dinner places and I highly recommend

Yelp
The food is top tier from the pizza, the chicken pesto, the chicken parm and the truffle bread. You really can't go wrong but most of all Christiana service was amazing and her recommendations are great! Thank you Christiana.

Yelp
Visited North on a business trip to Miami. I've been so several other North Italia but this one is my favorite. They were busy during dinner rush but it didn't feel chaotic. It was relaxing and private. My boss and I were easily there about 3 hours. I ordered the Chicken Parmesan and it was a massive portion. We'd already had a charcuterie board which they amazingly accommodated her food allergy needs. The cocktails were fantastic, as was the wine menu and the after dinner limoncello's hit the spot. It was a lovely evening and the bustling district outside was great for people watching. Will absolutely visit next time I am in Miami.

Yelp
This is a pretty solid middle of the road italian spot. You will leave feeling satisfied and the food is good, but being in brickell with a million options, there's nothing that really makes north italia stand out. Pastas are always a solid choice and the pizzas aren't bad either. The service is kind of hit or miss depending on when you go. This place struggles with identity for me, it's not sure if it wants a sports bar atmosphere or a fine dining Italian spot. If you can't get into Moxie's next door, this is always a good back up plan.
google avatar

Solange S.

Yelp
The salmon was cooked to order. I like mine medium well so it is not too dry and it was perfect. The pesto fregola is absolutely delicious and fresh. Paired nicely with Riesling white wine.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with my friends. Decent atmosphere and good customer service overall. I'm used to succulent menu at North Italia but wasn't too impressed with the summer menu. Food was okay but nothing over the top that would make me come back. My friends weren't amazed with their dishes but they were okay. Had a few apps and some pasta mains.. Atmosphere 4/5 Food 2/5 Service 4/5

Andrew W.

Yelp
The service was really good, but the food was average at best. When I order a Branzino, I don't expect it to be completely burn and served with cold pasta. It was brought back out and extremely salty and rushed again. Service was good but I would not come back for the food.
google avatar

Vancy S.

Yelp
I'm from Texas and love going to the location in Houston. Since living in Miami this is the first time at this location. Same fun atmosphere with the open bar area that lets you people watch while catching some fresh air. The happy hour is great. Had the charcuterie board and Italian meatballs to start. Delicious as always. We also ordered the funghi pizza and burrata. The service was attentive and great!

Yelp
North Italia in Brickell is a good casual lunch spot. The impressive selection of delicious salads and pasta dishes pairs perfectly with their lovely collection of wines. Each dish is unique in flavor and impressively presented. The atmosphere in the restaurant is both lively and comfortable and the space is artfully designed to make luches feel relaxed. It is a nice restaurant to bring clients to dine. The standout service at North Italia is pretty remarkable, even at peak hours, the staff is well organized and always manages to have seating available. North Italia is worth a visit if you at Brickell. I usually order tuscan Kale. And for pasta I usually order the Bolognese.

Yelp
A good place to catch a bite, spicy vodka rigatoni is excellent the vibe is great and waiter was nice however, we got seated next to a couple with a medium size dog yesterday- yes dogs are great but I don't want a random dog shaking next to me for the duration of my dinner. My friend is also very scared of dogs so she was just nervous the whole time. We were seated at a low table right next to the couple and although the dog didn't touch us or anything it would come into the small space between us and shake off quite often. I understand dogs being allowed in all public places but we should have been asked if we wanted to sit next to one before being seated, or the dogs should be on the patio for food safety reasons especially if it's coming next to you and shaking off.
