Where To Eat & Drink Before A Columbus Crew Game

"If you’re trying to satisfy a huge, hungry, and indecisive group (lucky you!), come to North Market, which is just a 20-minute walk to the stadium. They have more than 25 vendors, so you can get tonkatsu ramen at Satori Ramen Bar, Tibetan dumplings at Momo Ghar, or Hot Chicken Takeover’s near-perfect fried chicken. You cannot leave without a waffle cone from the original Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream scoop shop, too. The Barrel & Bottle is also a great pregame spot where you can sip some local craft beer or glass of wine. Plus, you won’t have to wait in the unwieldy beer line at Lower.com Field." - erin edwards

The 18 Best Restaurants In Columbus, Ohio 2024

"This crowded public market is home to at least 30 independently-owned food counters, which makes it a great place to eat and shop with a group. While your friend wanders off for a slice of pizza or giant Bavarian pretzel, you can get in line for Himalayan dumplings at Momo Ghar or a Somali spread from Hoyo’s Kitchen. Reconvene at a table outside or upstairs, then end your meal with cones of Brambleberry Crisp or Salty Caramel at the original Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream. Before you leave, you might as well stock up on locally made olive oil, coffee beans, a few Ohio cheeses and artisan fruit preserves from Black Radish Creamery, or a bag of cinnamon pecans from the American Nut Company. The downtown location has been around for nearly 150 years, and is an easy walk from the convention center." - erin edwards, kindra peach

If I could leave a higher rating i definitely would. I went there with my boyfriend for the first time and my eyes immediately lit up! The food looked absolutely amazing, the pricing was way better than I had expected. The wait time for the food wasn’t nearly as long as I had anticipated. I will definitely be going back as many times as I’m able! I recommend the Birria tacos, 3 tacos for $14! As a bonus you are able to sit and overlook the whole place!

North Market in Columbus is a foodie paradise with an amazing array of flavors and cuisines! From coffee to Italian, pho, ramen, Mexican, Indian, African, Mediterranean, and even oysters, there's something for everyone. Just a heads-up: it closes at 5 PM on Mondays, so plan accordingly! The air-conditioned space was a blessing on a hot day, although shopping options for gifts were limited—except for a great card store. I was bummed that Foxes Bagels was closed, as I've heard great things! Overall, a vibrant spot worth exploring! 🌟

Google
Love this market! So many choices for food, or gifts, or whatever you crave. This reminds me of a European style market. Great place to grab a quick bite.

Google

Corrina Lawver

Google
Love the multi cultural cuisines that are available there!! Along with many other delectable desserts, beers, coffees, flowers and more! Can’t wait to go back! Definitely worth the stop!

North Market was perfect for lunch and dinner while at our C&MA Conference in May 2025. Lunch was a lot busier than dinner. First floor has food and second floor has tables/chairs. I love that there are many different options to choose from. This week I had Momo Ghar momos which was featured on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. A Dulce de Leche crepe from Holy Crepes, tuna Poke bowl and Dragon roll from Nida's Sushi and Thai, a Kielbasa roll and Pierogis from Hubert's Polish Kitchen, and Jeni's ice cream (fav is Gooey Butter Cake and Brown Butter Almond Brittle). Also if you want to take home nuts and popcorn, visit American Nut Co. Lots of flavors to choose from!

So many spectacular options! Parking is a mess right now as the construction has everything turned around. What makes it nice is the ability to please everyone in one spot!

Google
North Market in Columbus, still a favorite! This was my second trip, and I seem to find something new to love every time. The variety is just fantastic. I especially enjoyed pretzels from Brezel and pastries from the Pastry Factory. For cheese lovers, Black Radish Creamery is a must. The Green Olive Company was a fun stop, too. I found some really interesting olive oils and vinegars. A plus, one can taste all the unique flavor combinations before buying. Next time, I am absolutely planning to try Hoyo's Kitchen. The Somalian food looked and smelled incredible. Honestly, it's just a great place to wander, try new things, and enjoy the atmosphere. I always find a reason to come back, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Columbus.

Yelp
Every time I'm in Columbus I make sure to make time to stop at the market, rain or shine I take a stroll down here. There are so many shops and vendors to choose from and everyone is so nice! There's a bakery, pretzel shop, bubble tea, coffee, bagels and breakfast crepes, cheese, bbq, pizza, ramen and so many more. It's genuinely hard to choose which shops to visit, but I promise there's something there for everyone. The upstairs is all open and full of bar seating, tables and it's great for all group sizes. It's really warm though - so don't expect to beat the heat with an AC!

Yelp
Great spot for lunch while at the convention center! I could have spent all afternoon here eating my way around the market. Tons of variety and reasonable prices. Plenty of seating upstairs. The market was crowded with a lot to take in, so do a lap first before deciding. We tried the Thai restaurant, great portions for the price, just order your spice level with care- "medium" had me in hot tears The bar b Que meat stand was awesome, get the brisket and Mac & cheese, you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
When I'm in Columbus I always plan a visit to North Market. It's located off of Vine and Park Streets in downtown Columbus. There are vendors of every food option you can think of. Dumplings, Thai, bakery, Italian, cheese steak sandwiches, Mexican, Indian, donuts, German, chicken (upstairs), wine, fresh flowers..... I'm probably missing some other options but suffice to say you won't leave hungry. The building looks to be an old warehouse. Everyone of the vendors are very nice but busy! It is popping with people!

Yelp
Well, I'm glad to see that the North market has gotten his Mojo back! Came here for a Yelp event and got to walk around the market and check out all the booths. A lot of the vendors that I remember had left, but they've been replaced by really great companies. Aesthetic of the market have greatly improved. There's something truly here for everybody I would consider this more of a food hall now than a market. When it first opened it was truly a market. You could get fruit and vegetables flowers. There was a cookware vendor. There was a spice vendor. You know where I'm going with us Now it's essentially small little restaurants all in enough food, but it works. It really really works. Littleton has their bakery here. There's a great barbecue place here. There's a wonderful fish stand. There's Chinese, Jeni's ice cream, a florist, a cheese shop a Mexican food stand. There's pretzels. There's pizza, pasta shop, mediteranian, Hungarian, Indian, and the list goes on and on and on there's even a Hungarian stand and an Indian stand. Not hungry, just thirsty.... A coffee shop a bubble tea place and don't forget the pastry shop, which I came into visit. Oh my gosh because there's really no seating downstairs, but you can take the stairs or an elevator upstairs and there's plenty of seats. North market is really something that everybody in Columbus should experience at least once. If and when you experience it, you will wanna come back. Promise

Yelp
So much amazing food all in one place! Roam around the whole thing once before ordering, so you can take a look at your options! It ranges from ramen, ice cream, pasta, Indian, bagels, to pho and so many more! After ordering you can bring your food to upstairs to seat. They have plenty of seating up there and even hooks on the wall for your coats. The bathroom is also super clean! Parking: There is a parking structure across the street. Make sure to as the food stalls for parking validation!
google avatar

Amber G.

Yelp
Soooo many options! This establishment is super clean. It was really fun to walk around and see all the choices. Oils, bakery's, every food you can think of Most of the businesses have samples of pasta sauces and salsas

Yelp
A food lovers paradise, my main goal was to try another city in Ohio for polish food. The Columbus market is right in the heart of downtown. Two helpful hints: park in the vine st lot, due to construction, have your ticket validated by a vendor after purchase and it's $2, good through June 30 2025. The second floor has the restrooms, another restaurant and seating. The main floor has a good variety of choices and has a cool history. My selection for dinner October 18, 2024 was Huberts Polish Kitchen. Huberts Polish Kitchen had a unique offering 2 Pierogi and mielone chicken ball, resembled a meatball. This special was only $11, homemade and drink was extra. Inside midline chicken ball: chicken, sauerkraut, chunk of cheese side of sweet cabbage. Pierogi were in butter sauce, too doughy for my preference defintly filled me up. Fun short visit and worth the stop.

Yelp
Normally I love the North Market but with the construction of the hotel/parking garage those going to the market have to park in the Vine Street garage. Unfortunately signage in the garage is nonexistent. We wandered inside the garage until finding a person who was staying at the Hilton and got us outside. There was another man who asked us how to get to the market. Even once outside the construction and barricades made getting to the market a virtual obstacle course. To add insult to injury the discount voucher we got at Jeni's Splendid wouldn't scan when leaving the garage. Love the market and shops but until the construction is done it's a nightmare right now. Plus we had to circle around the garage to finally get a parking spot.
google avatar

Yelp
North Market it's more than an indoor farmer's market. A variety of dining options from around the world, handicrafts, flowers, baked goods as well as meats and produce. Sometimes it's just a great place to take a walk and unwind. That's my favourite. On four of our six visits I've purchased nothing. I just love to stroll and take everything in. My ultimate favs are Colo butcher and American nut, for I am an American nut. Jeni's splendid was a great ice cream spot for us. It had to end, no more, no more. It threw the sugar out of whack. Now we spend more time at Stauf's coffee roasters. Now there's something satisfying for the nose! Another fun thing is to venture up to the second floor where there's seating unlimited and gaze down at the businesses below. I just wish it could be bigger. 07/24

Yelp
I miss working in downtown Indianapolis and visiting City Market, and North Market really has the same vibes. So, so many different options for fast food or packaged food -- different styles and countries of origin, full meals, snacks, whatever you want is probably in here. And since it's all in one area, there's nothing stopping you from having a Somali entree with a bagel or donut on the side. Parking was a little tricky with the construction, but signage was clear -- they were doing the best they could! Ample seating upstairs (although it wasn't busy yet when we came earlier in the day) and clean throughout. If you're in the area, this is absolutely worth stopping in for if you need a bite!

Yelp
So many different restaurants for every different taste bud. Customer service is top notch

Yelp
Foodie Paradise in Downtown Columbus We were in Columbus for a conference and had a chance to go out for lunch after packing up our trade show booth. I had walked by the North Market and had a quick look inside. Our group decided to check out the North Market and have lunch there. The Market is an eclectic mix of many cuisines and you can try foods from local Columbus vendors. It is mostly a food market and provides food vendors and vendors selling edible items. There are many types of food to choose from and I settled on Colo Market and Oyster Bar for lunch. I had the lobster bisque that was made fresh that day and one of their sandwich specials, the Blackened Fish Sandwich. The sandwich was packed with flavour the fish was fresh and not greasy at all. The sandwich special came with a side of fresh-cut fries. Our group also ordered two dozen oysters. An overall great experience at the market and we all left with souvenirs to take home.
google avatar

Yelp
The Colo, Stauf Coffee, Momo and Thai all sound good here. Easy walk around the market. Super busy and bustling. The longer lines are the polish, coffee and Nidia's Thai spot.
google avatar

Yelp
A bit overwhelming at first but only because there are so many amazing options. I was visiting while traveling through town and stopped in to try some of the food. The market is laid out well and has seating for eating in around the main level and lots more upstairs.

Yelp
We drove an hour and 30 to Columbus and the first thing we stopped for was food. He never been to a "food hall/farmers market " type of place before so we stopped here first. It was so cute inside and had a variety of restaurants from a variety of different places around the world. They also had a couple stores and a wine bar. I ended up getting Marlows Cheesesteak and he got barrel and boar bbq. If I'm not mistaken I built my own cheesesteak with steak Swiss and provolone? (Don't quote me lol). Onions, mushrooms, sweet and hot peppers with the spicy mustard. It was so good and filling I wish they were closer. It was juicy too and they were not stingy. He got the smoked wings and I tried one it was very... dry it kind of had flavor but it was just too dry. Otherwise I did buy some hibiscus leaves from one of the merchants there. I loved the place . It's seating upstairs with the middle being open. I definitely will be back to try other places in there.

Yelp
SUPER CUTE little market!!! Kinda in a sketch part of town it seems but definitely a cute little market! There's SEVERAL different cultural food options, specialty shops like coffee, bread/bakery and other types of shops to parooz and pick up some fun little things. The flower shop offers super affordable bouquets with LOTS of different types of UNIQUE flowers! I liked the jewelry stand with authentic designs from Mexico, I think it was she said. The sticker corner was super fun also! Tons and tons and tons of fun and unique stickers. We stopped in here for some coffee after staying at the AC on the adjacent corner. We all got different types of drinks, I got the the PB Mocha over ice, not blended. SO SO SO good!!! But BE CAREFUL, it has four shots of espresso in the large! Definitely worth a stop to check out all the shops and food offerings!
google avatar

Scotty C.

Yelp
Now this is what a food hall should be! Tons of vendors packed into stalls with a wide array of unique and culturally diverse foods. The setup reminded me of some of the markets I've visited in Spain. We came in for lunch before heading to the airport and had a field day trying as much as we could. We did a loop first to see what looked good... spoiler alert, everything looks good. My buddy and I decided to combine forces and get something from a few different places to share. We decided on a sampler from Momo Ghar, some kielbasa and pierogi from Hubert's Polish Kitchen, and a mixed plate of Morrocan food from Tajine House. We didn't come close to finishing everything, but sampling as much as you can is the way to go. You could come here 50 times and have a different experience every time.
google avatar

Becca S.

Yelp
What a surprise! This place is incredible. I am no expert on the demographics of Ohio, but their variety and options surprised me. The Italian and Polish options not so much, but next thing you know you are checking out a Nepalese momo counter next to a pho stall. Hoyo's Kitchen turning out authentic Somali dishes across from the Tajine House with their Moroccan options. Add in a cheese shop, wine bar, and traditional farmers market fare, this place really is the best! I didn't have nearly enough time to really enjoy it. I got some oysters and some fancy cheese and had to boogie out. Next time I am here, I am coming earlier and bringing my coworkers.
google avatar

Amanda S.

Yelp
North Market was awesome and definitely a good spot to check out. A variety of food options. Was able to do some Xmas shopping here. Very unique.
google avatar

Starr D.

Yelp
This north market is like a miniature scaled fresh food market you can find everywhere in most Europe. It has foods from various regions and countries, most of them were delicious and authentic except couple. If I stayed in Columbus long enough, I would've tried them all. We had some of the best tasting pretzels, polish stuffed cabbage, Jamaican bowl, Asian style dumplings... Every spot we visited, the services were decent. The cheese stand was especially friendly and of course we couldn't walk away without some delicious cheese, salami and cheesy lemon cake. This market can get real busy especially during weekends and meal times. Thats when the upstairs seating area comes in handy for over flow dinners. There are many parking options near this market. This is a highly recommended spot to visit in Columbus, OH by @winedinenvacay

Yelp
A foodie heaven in the heart of Columbus, Ohio! Heard this was one of the food markets that are popular in Columbus, so of course had to check it out. It's filled with diverse food options that has something for everyone! A few that stood out to me was ramen, momos, artisan cheeses, flowers and so much more! They also have a second floor overlooking the entire market and was filled with lots of seating and tables for people to dine in. There's also another restaurant on the second floor so don't miss checking that out. I opted for a gyro shawarma plate from Firdous which was a 3/5. Portions were a little small and it was spicy! The staff were super nice and friendly and their store front looks so appealing! Overall the market is definitely good for the eyes and tummy to feast on with the amount of different options here. Make sure to check it out and do a full walk through of the market before you settle for what you want to eat (or eat it all!).

Tomylynn P.

Yelp
well, I was looking for an ATM but if I were looking for Asian groceries or cooked food items it would've been great. I only stopped in to get changed for the laundry down the street. It smells were amazing or I may have been hungry, but the smell of steamed crabs or some kind of seafood, maybe Chinese food filled the air.
google avatar

Aisha J.

Yelp
Such a cute little "farmer's market" shopping area. North Market has different food eateries, a mini shopping area and sitting area to people watch if you so please or to just sit and chat with a friend or loved one.
google avatar

Tonya J.

Yelp
Super cool market in the heart of Columbus. Many options and friendly customer service throughout. Happy we checked them out.
google avatar

Brenda J.

Yelp
Overall, great spot to grab a bite to eat. Higly recommend. It has a great variety of food and definitely recommend Jenys ice cream. Service varied by vendor but overall good. The seating is at the top of the establishment, average noise and overall neat ambiance.

Yelp
What's not to love about North Market??! Whenever I'm in Columbus, a stop here is an absolute must. Located in the historic downtown area, North Market is bustling indoor market where you'll find a wide variety of more than 40 independently owned small businesses. Inside this 2 story building they have an abundance of specialty food items, seafood, fresh produce, flowers, meat, poultry, one of a kind gifts, and authentic international prepared foods (Hoyos kitchen is my absolute favorite!). I usually browse for a while and get my food to go but if you'd rather dine in, just head upstairs where you'll find plenty of seating or go to the outside patio for outdoor dining on a nice sunny day.
google avatar

Annie C.

Yelp
I love this place!! One of the best food markets I've been to. So many food vendors from all different cultures--not enough space in my tummy and time to try it all! There's something for everyone (bagels, fried chicken, momos, seafood, pasta, pizza, curry, perogies, pastries, tea, juice, ice cream, and so much more!!). I ordered from a few vendors and was pleased with all of them! There is also ample seating upstairs, so you can sit and really enjoy your food and people watch. The lively ambience is contagious. North Market is a must if you're visiting Columbus!
google avatar

Marlena K.

Yelp
This place is truly awesome. There is a lot of really good food in North market.I really enjoyed the pretzels and so many other bites. The vibes and amazing smell it's just one of the many reasons you should definitely visit if you're in the area. I would come with an empty stomach so you can try lots of different things. Don't bother looking for parking because it can be difficult especially on weekends. You can park in the garage and if you buy some thing they validate your ticket so the fee will only be two dollars no matter how long you stay, or at least that's what I was told. I would definitely want to be back.

Jason S.

Yelp
This place reminds me of Oxbow in Napa - super unique dining options that will please even the pickiest eaters. Everything from crepes to banh mi to pizza to Moroccan food. They even have a spice shop, a place for fresh produce and an ice cream shop. Check it out.
google avatar

Chris W.

Yelp
For the "foodie-curious", North Market is a calm indoor exploration of lunch/dinner possibilities. I saw asian, polish, indian, & morrocan cuisine, & more. I was curious about Morrocan food. I got fish, couscous, & 2 veggie sides (a little less than $20). The right amount of spice & tastiness! Not to mention, a souvenir treat made locally in Columbus, Ohio!! Can't wait to splurge on this bag of Buckeye Crunch!
google avatar

Helen H.

Yelp
North Market is a food hall and public market in Columbus, Ohio that was established in 1876. We came here in the morning, and it wasn't crowded. I mainly wanted Jeni's Ice Cream, and this is where it started. We walked around a bit, but didn't try anything else.
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
This is such a cool and fun place. There's everything here, grocers, teas and coffees, fresh pastas and bread, Asian, fried chicken... something for everyone. I walked around twice just to make sure I saw everything.
google avatar

Morgan C.

Yelp
What a fun place to visit! This market is one of the better downtown markets of this type I've been to. They addressed everything you would want as a patron - somewhere to sit and eat the food you've purchased, and accessible restrooms! There is also a great variety of shops - every type of cuisine and browse-able shops like spices, jewelry, gourmet foods, cheeses, etc. It was busy on a rainy Saturday night but not unmanageable. As a party of two we were able to find bar top seating upstairs twice.

Margaret W.

Yelp
Lots of choices. Often busy, but there is seating upstairs. Convenient to convention center. The Vietnamese rice bowls are very good.

Celeste A.

Yelp
I don't live in Columbus but I visit often and I make a trip to the market when I come to town. I like to go to the oil & vinegar place, and the spice place . I have enjoyed the Pho, and I've tried several other eatery places.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
12/2/23 update: I saw some newer restaurants here. They're doing construction so it can be a little difficult going to the back entrance from the convention center. You'll have to go in from the front.
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
Stopped while in Columbus, Ohio, on a Saturday afternoon. This gem of a landmark is amazing! They offer a wide variety of ethnic and American food options. Top side seating on the second floor with great views to the lower level. Every little local shop we stopped at had the most friendly staff. Very knowledgeable and helpful with our decision-making. We tried a variety of foods from Asian, to Mexican, to the hand made breads. We left with full bellies, and bags full of wine, soaps, and hand made knitted goods. Great place to shop for unique gifts.
google avatar

Joey R.

Yelp
Wow! What a great place! We had a group of 30, teens and adults and we absolutely loved North Market! Great seating space up on second level, super nice atmosphere! A lot of options to eat! We had great food at multiple of the places! Service was great! When we come back to Columbus we will definitely come back here!
google avatar

Jonathan M.

Yelp
If your group is undecided on where to go in downtown, check out north market. This food hall has dozens of food shops and a large variety of ethic foods, ranking from polish to Vietnamese to America.
google avatar

Raymond S.

Yelp
Very disappointing. I was expecting a market like in Cleveland or Philly. This was very small, two aisles. Not worth the stop unless you are local and wanted to shop or grab a quick bite. If you are an out of town we there are far better places to spend your time.

Jordan S.

Yelp
Tons of options and a great variety. We tried several vendors and were impressed with the quality of food, diversity in flavors, and kindness of everyone working!
google avatar

Les R.

Yelp
Love the North Market. My most frequent stops are Stauffs and Super Mini but there is so much good stuff here. This trip I was looking to grab some regional sourced Honey and was able to pick that up at Super Mini. Also really recommend Saferino's. The have the best pizza and I like to grab a slice sometimes during a visit when walking around. The North Maker also has a Jeni's, Hot Chicken Takeover, Flavors of Indiana, Dos Herman's and so much more. It's fun to stop in and explore. Remember to get your parking validated with any vendor purchase. Sometimes you got to ask. Definitely recommend. Hours for quick reference: Sun - Mon: 10:00am-5pm Tues - Sat: 9am-7pm More info at https://northmarket.org *select downtown

Steve K.

Yelp
This place was cool. A great variety of foods and beverages. I had the dumplings and high end ice cream. The prices I saw were not cheap. So a little sticker shock should not be a surprise.
google avatar

Ina F.

Yelp
Really great place for a bite to eat or a snack or even some souvenirs. Stopped here after flying into Columbus and before driving to Granville. Multiple restaurants of varying cuisines (Somali, Vietnamese, Japanese, Italian, Nepalese, BBQ, etc) along with two bakeries and a coffee shop. There's a small market as well that had great produce as well as farm-made buckeyes. And there was an impressive spice stall where the Sazon mix has won awards! Outside seating is available and there was a very talented musician playing music.
google avatar

Kerine F.

Yelp
A fun place with so many varieties!! Tried Momo dumplings- it was good! Went there for lunch n returned for dinner!
google avatar

Amber Z.

Yelp
So many choices and so little time. Grab a meal, grab a snack, grab a coffee or bottle of wine. Even groceries. Butcher a baker and I am sure a candle maker somewhere. Each vendor offers a different level of service. The atmosphere is just chill and fun. A great place to hang out with family and friends. There is something for everyone.
google avatar

Liz B.

Yelp
I think this is a nice market but it's small and both times we went there were many businesses closed. Tried the dumpling place, pretzel place and coffee. All were good. There's also a small Jeni's ice cream, a spice shop, card store, sushi, Italian, etc. There's seating on the second floor.
google avatar

Molly M.

Yelp
This place is huge. It's a big two story building within walking distance of the Greater Columbus Convention Center and multiple hotels. There are markets as well as dining options throughout the place. Buy fresh meat/fish, baked goods, or condiments. The food places have tons of diet options and many label vegan options. There is seating sprinkled throughout the first floor, but the second level is mostly seating with a great view overlooking the first floor. The parking lot was recently demolished (based on the sign most likely another hotel despite the tons already in the area). You'll need to use a parking lot and they validate inside. I walked over from a hotel for a convention so not sure the parking price, but every stall will ask if you need to validate. This is a popular place so it stays pretty busy.
google avatar

Misti M.

Yelp
What a delightful market! There are plenty of options and they offer a full loft for seating. We spent a morning just taking in the sights and enjoying food from the different stalls - I would definitely recommend if you are taking a trip to Columbus that you make this one of your stops! (if it hadn't been so cold when we visited, we probably would have been there at least twice in a weekend!)
