"Specializing in dishes from Shanxi province—a cuisine that can be hard to find even in big city Chinatowns—this phenomenal sliver of a restaurant is just steps from the University of Maryland’s College Park campus. Handmade noodles are the order of the day, whether stir-fried with chile oil or suspended in lamb and wood ear mushroom soup. Be sure to grab a couple of rou jia mo—stuffed flat buns—for the road." - ByAmiel Stanek

This small restaurant specializes in Northwest and Northeast Chinese cuisine. It’s a clean and tidy spot, perfect for office workers looking for an affordable and quick lunch. The menu focuses on noodle dishes, with juicy and flavorful Roujiamo (肉夹馍,Chinese burgers) and a variety of Northwest-style noodles. The toppings on the noodles are delicious, and the lamb skewers, made from sliced lamb grilled to perfection, have a wonderful smoky flavor. One downside is the lack of parking in front of the restaurant. You'll need to park at a paid lot across the street, which costs around $1.5 per hour.

Google
Cute little restaurant near campus. So many menu options to choose from! We ended up getting the spicy cumin chicken mo, lamb soup, sesame sauce rolled noodles, eggplant potato noodles, and hot oil minced pork noodles. Everything was delicious, but for me the standout was the chicken mo. Absolutely delicious! All the dishes were flavorful and unique and tasted like nothing I have ever had before. Good prices too

Google
Really enjoyed the meal! Authentic and delicious Shaanxi food. Spicy tofu noodles is a must for vegetarian/vegan. Really tasty drinks too (like hot fruit tea)! Close knit cafe feel in College Park right off Baltimore Avenue.

We visited on a Saturday evening and got busy later. We tried Rose lychee sparkling and was nice. The Sichuan flavour cold noodle was a good one too. And then we had chicken eggy and chicken noodles. Overall was a good one!

Google
Came here based on reviews and because of a hankering for a hearty soup. Ordered the Spicy Beef Rice Noodle Soup and enjoyed it, a good combo of heat and a bit of....sourness? Be aware that seating here is a hair's width from communal, it small place to seating is a bit cramped to ensure as many people can be seated as possible. Definitely worth a stop in and it's cool to see a Chinese restaurant that isn't just the classic hits but, rather, something more authentic in feel, and taste.

Google
Very clean and great decor, instagram worthy!! The food was simply AMAZING. Authentic and full of flavor and quality. They make the bread buns for the burgers in house 🤤🤤 I live 45 minutes away and will be back for sure. 100% worth fighting the traffic to get here and I mean that. Also they have some great drink options. The watermelon lime soda was so cute and very tasty!

Google
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in DMV. We always find time to come here regularly. We love love their cold noodle dish with beef and pickled cabbage. Their Liang pi and other noodle dishes are amazing. We have not had one bad dish so far. The fruit teas are so delicious also! I always try to bring family who visit DC to this restaurant!

Google
Very good value food for your buck. Good portions and cheap. Get Liang pi and it's awesome.

Yelp
This review is overdue to report the most EXCELLENT option for authentic, delicious Chinese food (my wife would know, she spent time in China eating the real thing!) in the entire DMV! My wife and I were greeted as soon as we entered (no waiting) and took a table for two by the window. I started with Spicy Beef Mo as an appetizer. Check out the photo. It was delicious! Crisp, not mushy. And a nice kick from the spice to get taste buds going! I then had the Sour Soup Dumplings. Equally delicious and a nice amount of heat! My wife ordered the Sesame Sauce Rolled Noodles and was in a state of bliss from the time her food was served until we left! I finished with the Yunan Rice Noodles! Again, so tasty, and it definitely satisfied my craving for noodles. The portions were large enough that we ate our fill and still had to pack up leftovers to go for later meals at home. They earned a generous tip and we will definitely be back!!

Yelp
First, know that this is not a traditional "American" Chinese place. We both walked in thinking that's what it would be and we're both wrong...I think that had I not gone in with that expectation then my review might be different. Regardless, it's still worth your time and visit to check it out. They offer something that I can't say I've seen at many (if any) chinese places, which was a tortilla with fillings. Kind of like a quesadilla. Well, exactly like a quesadilla, but it's called a stewed pork mo. I thought this was fantastic, the jalapeno complimented the stewed pork nicely. Also ordered the Hot Oil Minced Pork Noodle and the Sesame Sauce Rolled Noodles. Again, this isn't an American style dish, so the flavors were different. The best way I can think of to describe the two is that neither were sweet whereas American stuff mostly is. Anyhow, we still both enjoyed it, but just expected something different. Was too hungry for pics so forgive me.

Yelp
This spot is great! Super authentic Xi'an regional food. The liangpi cold noodle is an absolute must order. It's a regional specialty that is really hard to come by in the states. The 肉夹馍 (rou jia mo) was alright I personally wasn't too impressed. All the other food we got was great as well.

Richard L.

Yelp
Man absolutely love this place. If I'm ever near college park will definitely eat here. The only frustrating thing is they're not open on Sunday or Monday. But every time they are and we're here it's absolutely delicious. The soups are so flavorful and everything packs a nice kick. The appetizers are all great (at least the ones we've had) plus the rou jia mo. It's right next to UMD so expect some lines if you get here late.

Mary W.

Yelp
Everything is great but if you are not a pork eater then you are out of luck. All their broth is pork based. Not many options.

Alice L.

Yelp
One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the DMV. I highly recommend the beef noodle soup, cumin lamb burger, and the yanji cold noodles. If you've never had cold noodles before it might throw you off but it's worth a try. The food here is very authentic. It's a cozy little restaurant with quick service.

Andrew P.

Yelp
I have been eyeing this place for a while... it's been featured in Washingtonian's Top 50 DMV places to eat for at least the past 2 years. On an evening with no plans, I decided to finally give them a try! I decided to order online and pick up in person. For those who need to know, there are quite a few vegetarian options... but be sure to read the ingredients in the description. I was trying to avoid pork, and the red oil sesame dumplings looked quite appealing -- but I saw that the other dumplings had pork. I called ahead just to verify whether they had pork, and they verified that they did. I'm glad I asked -- the lady on the phone was very polite too! I don't think I ever had a Chinese burger (at least not recently), so I went for the Spicy Cumin Lamb Mo and hot oil-seared knife cut noodles, extra spicy. I ran a quick errand and then ran to the restaurant itself, which isn't lit up at night like some of the others on that row, but the inside was lovely!! There were a few tables where you could dine in, and they were all full when I was there. My food was ready and on a pickup table right next to the register. I would love to dine in there some day! I returned home, set up a TV show, and dug in. I liked the bread for the burger and the lamb was nice and flavorful! The noodle dish was quite enjoyable too. For dessert I got the sweet balls with brown sugar soup -- I never had it before, so I didn't know what to expect! It was a warm dessert that was presented just as it sounds -- there was a brown broth with five soft and sweet dumplings in them. All the flavor was in the balls themselves -- the soup didn't have much on its own... but a delicious dessert collectively anyway! I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Food and price point are both excellent! Came here for the first time on a Friday and was fortunate to not have to wait. Minutes after we were seated, a group of people amassed near the door waiting to be seated. Service was prompt and attentive. The spicy cumin lamb mo was excellent. It wasn't so big, so it was nice as a shared appetizer. There was no shortage of meat stuffed in the flatbread! The hot oil knife cut noodles were also tasty, if a tad oily (but that's to be expected for dishes that use chili oil). I don't believe the noodles are made in house, but they're good nonetheless. Parking is tough in this area, but there's paid parking across the street in the shopping plaza.

Yelp
Brought more people here for lunch! I tried a different fresh drink, the fruit tea. EXCELLENT! Also, I had to have again, the mushroom pork noodle soup. EXCELLENT! Fr. Stephen, of our group, is from India and he had the spicy beef noodle soup. He really liked it a lot and I got to taste the broth. It was very good. Two others also tried the Mushroom Pork Mo. They totally enjoyed it. I'm happy that I finally was able to bring Fr. John here. Told him about this place and when I first brought him, they were closed for a week break! But we came back and he thoroughly enjoyed. He is from China and thanked me and said it's a very good place. I recently just tried the vegetable soup for a change in variety and I really liked it. I can even order that on Fridays and during the days that I don't eat meat.

Yelp
About a 1.5: Not sure what the hype is all about surrounding this place, but Northwest Chinese Food isn't it. We came here for a later lunch, and there was a line - you have to write down your name and the number in your party on a notebook towards the front and just wait until they seat you based on which table becomes available. We ordered: +E1 - Cumin lamb skewer - this was super tough and dried out, and seemed as if it was prepared hours or a couple of days in advance; it didn't taste fresh at all +B3 - Red oil sesame dumplings - steamed pork dumplings in a chili oil and sesame sauce; these looked super appetizing, but the dumplings were bland, and the mix of the chili oil and their version of the sesame sauce was off-putting; don't use the bottle on the table - we thought it was soy sauce, but it was actually the vinegar sauce for the dumplings - ugh! +S1 - Liangpi & roll noodles with a spicy sesame peanut dressing - contained noodle root, bean sprouts, and a garlic sesame peanut dressing - definitely does not look anything like the photo on the menu; it seemed super pale, and while this cold noodle dish tasted 'okay', it was still bland; I didn't like the 'noodle root' or what looked like a sponge, so we just set that off to the side +D3 - Spicy beef noodle soup - braised beef, spinach, cabbage, pickled radish, and scallions in a spicy broth, opting out of cilantro; came in a large bowl; the beef was somewhat tender, but the broth lacked any flavor or depth; it was definitely 5 spice-oriented Service is friendly, and they are pretty good in attending to the tables and keeping the lines moving to get the parties seated. I really liked their mini set up of a 'mart', featuring Chinese snacks and drinks; something to look at while waiting. Metered and restricted street parking available. +bland and not-so-great menu items +friendly service +metered and restricted street parking available

Yelp
Revisited Northwest Chinese Food today to try some new menu items! My friend and I shared sour soup dumplings and mung bean noodles in both hot chili oil and cold sesame sauce. I've been dying to try the noodles and they were so slippery and chewy, I'm in love. I also tried the fruit tea for the first time and I'm a fan. Not pictured is the tangyuan dessert, also tried it for the first time and I'm obsessed with the black sesame filling inside of the mochi balls. This is one of my favorite authentic local spots and I love to keep coming back for more!

Yelp
Haven't been here for 2 years and the food has changed. I was craving this before a University of Maryland sports event. Servers pleasant and restaurant clean and bright but the food... Lamb buns taste nothing as they did, lamb in large dry pieces, not juicy, not enough spices and even the bun was dry and hard Knife cut noodles didn't taste freshly made and the spices/garlic/magic oil all missing One of the noodle dishes was seriously cooked spaghetti-I'm Chinese- I know-lol Not sure if chef changed but that's what it tasted like I'm sorry, but I don't crave this restaurant anymore.

Suzie Z.

Yelp
Hidden gem in college park that we chanced upon on our way back to DC from a long road trip. Everything was exceptionally delicious and I enjoyed it very much. The icing on the cake is the cute interior and they also have many Chinese snacks for sale there. It feels almost as if I was transposed back to China.

Liza M.

Yelp
Our good friends who live literally minutes from NW Chinese put us on to this spot and its a winner. I love a good ol' americanized Chinese food (a comfort food of mine coming from NYC), however, this is not your typical americanized Chinese food. Every item we've ordered (and we've ordered multiple times), has been a hit. I aim to try new items each time we order and I have not been disappointed yet. We haven't eaten in the restaurant, but all the times I've gone to pick up my order, its full of people and is welcoming. Whether you order or dine-in, its well worth the trek or uber delivery charge to try it out!

June K.

Yelp
A good variety of options and my noodles were delicious. Even if the menu has a set type of noodle, they let us switch the type which was nice! Pretty flavorful and filling. I tried my friends dishes and they were pretty tasty as well. My friend got their black vinegar noodles but it was more sweet and not vinegary at all. They did have vinegar on the table so we added that lol. Unfortunately service was slow. Food took forever and we had to ask for our check 3 times! Still would recommend and I'll be coming back.

Min Z.

Yelp
Located in College Park, it's like a fast food noodle restaurant. The service was warm and attentive. The prices were inexpensive and the food was terrific! They offered quite a variety of dishes on the menu. It was really hard to make up my mind because there were so many I would like to try. In the end, we ordered their signature dishes per recommendation by the host. 4*Housemade Liangpi Noodle 西贝手工凉皮- Liang PI, Noodle Root, Cucumber, Bean Sprouts Cilantro, Peanuts & Spicy Soy Vinaigrette:the portion was big, but only a few pieces of Liangpi Noodle. Most were spaghetti rolled noodles. Nevertheless it was still a tasty dish. I would order it again. 4.3*Hot Oil Seared Noodle w. Minced Pork & Vegetables传统油泼燥子面-Noodles, Minced Pork, Fried Tofu, Carrot & Potato: we selected the traditional knife-cut noodles. We mixed the sauces and noodles thoroughly before eating. It was very good.

Tim C.

Yelp
If Qu Japan down the street has a 4.2 star for Japanese ramen with bok choy obviously made by Chinese people (accent confirmed), 4.0 stars is too low so I'm raising the average. Food is authentic and not what I expected to have near College Park, or even Maryland. All the Asian food around this area is watered down or remixed and marketed for uncultured palates so it was nice to go somewhere that would taste exactly the same as they would back in the motherland.

Emily L.

Yelp
I love this place so freaking much. I come here at least once a week since I go to school right across the street. I always get the knife cut noodles and Dan Dan noodles. The knife cut noodle has the right amount of flavor and I feel like the portion size has increased a little more since half a year ago. Anyways, I took my bff and my bf here and they're hooked as well. We usually get takeout since there are limited seating and the wait can be long, but when we do eat in, we make sure to order their drinks as well. Sparkling lychee is the best! Also, there is a fee if you order online, so call in your order if you don't want to pay fees.

Gabriel C.

Yelp
Very tasty! Came here a couple of times and tried cumin lamb rou jia mo (5/5), potato rou jia mo (4/5), hot oil minced pork (3/5), sesame sauce rolled noodles (3/5) and on other cold noodle dish, can't quite remember which one. Apparently this place been around a while and has stood the test of time and I can see why.

Ann R.

Yelp
This is a hidden gem in College Park! I can't believe I've never been here before. For starters the inside is nice and clean and they even have snacks for purchase inside. The food itself is absolutely fantastic. The noodles are handmade, chewy noodles. Perfect amount of meat and the flavors of tang and salt were perfect. I wish there was a little bit more of the vegetables to offset the meat, but that's pretty the only bad thing I can say. The BUN - bread was amazing. It was crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The chicken was perfectly flavored with cumin and the addition of cilantro gave it the freshness it needed. I took my food to go and it only took about 15 minutes to prep so they were pretty fast. Loved this place, can't wait to go back!

Thomas T.

Yelp
3.5. Everything here is pretty good. My fave were the Black vinegar minced pork roled noodles and the Beef & Pork Rou Jia Mo. Both dishes were really flavorful. Not that spicy. The Lamb skewers, sour soup dumplings were good. Not a fan of the liangpi cold noodle. Staff were very nice and attentive. Food came out quick. I would come again and recommend.

Eric P.

Yelp
Love the Shangxi-Chinese food! The cut noodles (all of them) were amazing and delicious. Seasoning is just right (very savory)!

Julie K.

Yelp
Was packed when we came. Had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. This may be because there aren't a lot of seating for 4 ppl. Went on a Friday night. Beef Noodle Soup (4/5) Really good soup. Peppercorns? My mouth was somewhat minty and had this numb feeling, but super good. Spicy and oily, comfort. Thick noodles taste very homey! Wish the noodles were a bit softer and less chewy, (i like rlly limp noodles lol). I'll be back to try the other dishes! Excited:)

Shah P.

Yelp
This place is an experience located in the heart of college park. We Tried the red oil sesame seed dumplings, cumin lamb skewers, and the spicy jalapeño rice noodles with chicken and it was mouthwatering. It is far superior than your average Chinese food and I would definitely try it again! The spots a little small but it's worth any wait and the service was great too.

Clara J.

Yelp
This is my favorite place in the CP area and I would eat here everyday if I could. The service is also friendly and the food comes out super fast. 10/10 recommend!!!

Judy C.

Yelp
It was really busy when we went, but the place itself it pretty tight with not that much space.. Service was on the slower side due to the business, but the food was quite delicious! The knife noodles had a great texture, and it was definitely worth the wait. I do recommend, but just be aware of how busy it could get as well as some crampedness.

Carol K.

Yelp
Authentic and Fantastic Service! All my Chinese friends love this place, they make their noodles from scratch. This is the only place where I eat lamb- I love how they season their lamb skewers! I think it's so nice they hire UMD students as servers, they work so hard:)

Letisha W.

Yelp
Amazing level of spice!! You know you are in a good Asian spot when you walk in and the place is full of Asians! I love this place but I can't give it 5 stars because there are NO GLUTEN free options made known, and the food is not organic, and I found it too oily for my liking but that's most Asian food places. When they can make the food tasty without a ton of oil where you only taste the ingredients, those places are very expensive. If this place had gluten free options, organic foods and way less oil in their food - I would give it 5 stars.

Austin V.

Yelp
What a spot. The food is just delicious. Your classic hole in the wall joint. Tons of students. Ample portions. Delicious. Take out if easy if you park on the street around back. I will be a repeat customer for sure!

Naomi L.

Yelp
Great food here. I've had the beef and chicken burgers, the knife-cut noodles with tofu, and the eggplant, potato and pepper noodles. Everything is delicious. It's a very no-frills environment inside, so don't expect anything fancy, but the food is excellent. Do be prepared to be tasting garlic all day after your meal.

Michelle J.

Yelp
Best meal we've had in College Park- hands down. Authentic Chinese in a very unassuming location. Don't sleep on this spot!

The Domestic G.

Yelp
The lamb skewers are the best thing about this place. The dumplings weren't tasty at all and the stuffed bread was bland. However, the customer service is amazing.

Jimmy D.

Yelp
Best food in College Park by far! Authentic and delicious. My favorite spot for lunch!

Kerri C.

Yelp
We tried Northwest Chinese food today for the first time and really enjoyed both the red oil sesame dumplings and the spicy beef noodle soup. The dumplings had an awesome sauce that had a mild peanut flavor. It was so good and I will definitely be ordering that again. The spicy beef noodle was also great, and we were surprised to find beautiful, non-fatty hunks of meat in a delicious broth. We loved the hand cut noodles! We also ordered the black vinegar minced pork roll noodles. This we were slightly disappointed in; we found it quite salty but the noodles were good! We'll pass on that dish next time but we'll order the first two for sure.

Gen S.

Yelp
Thank The Lord I arrived when I did, this place fills up quickly. Thought I knew what I wanted to order, but my plan changed when I saw the portion sizes. Server patiently & thoroughly explained each dish I inquired about. Lunch consisted of Red Oil Sesame Dumplings & Lamb Noodle Soup! Fellow Yelpers, the layers & depth of flavor was AMAZING! For soup you ask? YES, I kid you not! So much so, I thought about returning the next day! My son raved about his to-go order of Spicy Beef Soup, Lamb & Sausage Skewers. Highly recommended!

Nan L.

Yelp
This was the worst Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at. The Stewed Pork Mo was stale, dry, and not fresh at all, The Cumi Lamb Skwers weren't not freshly grilled, they were purchased frozen and reheated. The size was small, the price was extremely expensive, the dining environment is extremely poor. A restaurant like this won't get repeat customers, It won't last long.

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
An awesome find. Reminds of being in Harbin again. A choice appetizers and meat skewers. Just missing Harbin beer! A great menu of summer cold noodles and plenty of vegetarian and meat options on both menus. Choice of rolled or knife cut noodles. Wonderful service and bowls of delicious goodness.

Katie A.

Yelp
my favorite restaurant ever!!! I always look forward to eating the spicy beef noodle soup when I come to College Park. I discovered this spot when I was in my last semester of senior year and I was so sad but happy to find such a treasure. Thankful that it has sustained through COVID- support local restaurants and eat here, you won't regret it!!

Nora C.

Yelp
This place in College Park was spot on, definitely a whole-in-wall place. Owner was very nice and super informative with their food recommendations to us. We ordered the lamb burger. The lamb was delicious, flavorful and super tender, definitely good quality of meat. We also tried the lamb skewer, and it has a good kick of spice to it. I ordered the three toppings combination noodles, which consist of minced pork, tomato and egg, and a special bean paste sauce with mushroom ear and potatoes. I mixed them together and those three toppings compliment each other very well. Most importantly, the knife cut noodles were very chewy. Portions are huge and at a reasonable price. Highly recommend this place!

Christine K.

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS INCREDIBLE. My husband got the red oil sesame dumplings and spicy beef noodle soup with knife cut noodles. I got the shredded potatoes, mung bean noodles appetizer, and sichuan paired noodle soup. Everything was amazing. I'm over the moon happy. I have been looking for a new Chinese place and this spot is unreal. Absolutely incredible. And gluten free rice, sweet potato, and mung bean noodles!!!!!!!

Elizabeth H.

Yelp
Loved the food here! One of the best places to get chinese food near UMD. The noodles were flavorful and perfectly cooked and the lamb buns were delicious! Both the soup and the stir fry noodles were good. My favorite was the knife cut noodles with tomato egg and tofu additions. The tomato egg and tofu are extra, but I thought it was worth it. This will definitely become my go to whenever I'm craving noodles.

Diou L.

Yelp
really authentic Northwest Chinese food, the smoky chilli oil adds savory taste.... gonna try again definitely

Drew L.

Yelp
All authentic food here! Lamb, fish cakes and their specialty are the noodles. Burgers were great and the skewers are a must try. You can get the noodles knife cut (wide style) or rolled (noodle style). Vinegar also a staple in this area. A small restaurant but with lots of potential.

Kendal A.

Yelp
I ate here for the first time after hearing this was authentic Chinese food, not the typical American-style take-out that proliferates the landscape in 99.8% of Asian restaurants. I got the knife cut hot minced pork noodles, and after eating this, you can tell home-made noodles from pre-packaged stuff- BIG difference! The pork was limited, which again, not complaining, makes for this authentic dish, but may or may not fill you up depending on your appetite. I got a compliment of steamed dumplings and hot sauce, which were also very good and made for a full meal. Slightly on the pricey side, but given the rise in restaurant meal prices and knowing house-made products are a lot more expensive than Sysco, it's well worth it. Four stars for very good quality food. Can't wait to go back and get the lamb kabobs and try some of their exotic drinks!

Brandon K.

Yelp
Came here with some friends at night. The restaurant itself is a little small, so there was a bit of a wait for us. When we got seated, the place really opened up quickly so they might just have a big surge of customers instead of a steady flow here. I ordered the lamb noodle soup, which had a great, flavorful broth. That being said, I wish it had more broth and meat considering the price is a bit higher compared to other dishes. The food also came out a little bit slower than I anticipated, but overall it was a decent experience. I think if I had the stomach for something spicy (my stomach was a bit upset before), then I would have gotten the beef noodle soup like others had recommended here.

One G.

Yelp
Great food. Good prices. Small and cozy! Lots of options for vegetarians. Great selection of drinks

Garvin C.

Yelp
It's so great that there is a restaurant serving this kind of food here. It is not the more mainstream chinese stuff, and is pretty popular if you look online in places in NYC and the west coast. The food tastes great. I really enjoy that variety of different dishes here. I noticed a lot of people get the rou jia mou, which i should have got, but did not. It looked really juicy and with a good amount of meat. Next time I'm definitely getting that. I got the shredded potato appetizer, liang pi, knife cut noodles with meat and mushrooms, and hot oil seared noodles. Everything was delicious. The servers were here also very nice and friendly. The service was very good. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Located directly on Baltimore Avenue (U.S. Route 1) in downtown College Park, Maryland, the fierce competition for best dumplings and noodles between Northwest Chinese Food and nearby Zhang's Noodles is reminiscent of Victor Krum's Bulgaria and Ireland in the 1994 Quidditch World Cup. According to my wife, whose expert palate for noodles is not unlike Neville Longbottom's love of Herbology, it is the noodles themselves that eek out a victory for Northwest Chinese Food over Zhang's namesake, as if the golden snitch itself whistles in the heralds of victory for NWC. Although Northwest Chinese Food offers dumplings in sour and spicy peanut sauces, the noodle dishes themselves are what will activate your culinary impressions of J.K. Rowling's memory-filled Pensieve.

Gina L.

Yelp
This is a pretty authentic, noodle-heavy establishment - you won't find any kung pao, orange-flavored nonsense here. Appetizers: The rou jia mo has "pulled" meat (think pulled pork) with tiny pieces of jalapeños for a little kick, sandwiched between a naan-like bread. There are pieces of fat in there on purpose, so savor the richness! The spicy cumin lamb skewers are great, and the seasoning is on point. The sizes of lamb on the skewer varied, so some were a little dry, but it's all good. Noodle entrees: I got the D12 [3 kinds mix (minced pork, stir-fried veggie, tomato & egg) knife cut noodles]. Not sure where the stir-fried veggies were, but there were a few slices of potato which had been stewed in a soy sauce mixture that provided a nice boost of salty flavor and texture in the noodles. Tomatoes and eggs are a common dish in China, so the taste was familiar and the little tang of sweetness was nice. There was a decent amount of the sauce it came with, which mixed evenly in the generous amount of knife-cut noodles. Unfortunately, these knife-cut noodles aren't made in-house, but still tasty! My mom got F1 (yun nan style rice noodles with minced pork). It comes in a bone broth, topped with whole peanuts, and some chopped pickled mustard stems (sounds intimidating but worth a try!). If you're afraid of not liking them, ask for it on the side, and they'll definitely accommodate you. The minced pork is pretty salty, even with the plain noodles they come with. They also use a lot of pre-made sauces, so even though they are authentic, they sort of lack authenticity all the while. This place is a nice change from your typical Chinese food in College Park, and the appetizers are super authentic and worth a try if you swing by!
