Nuar NYC understood the assignment If you're looking for a cozy Thai dessert café in NYC, you need to check out @nuarnyc = We tried: Nom Yen (Thai pink milk) - sweet, milky, refreshing, and not too heavy. Iced S'mores - rich chocolate, topped with mini marshmallows + crunch, dessert in a cup. Pork floss & ham sandwich — soft bread with savory filling (perfect to balance the sweet drinks!) Kaya Toast — soft toast with sweet kaya spread (perfect scoop with every bite!) Overall: warm cozy vibe, photogenic drinks, and everything tastes well-balanced. 10/10 would come back. Save this spot!

Google
The best Thai tea latte—with oat milk!! Rejoice lactose intolerant bbs. A sweet sweet treat for us :’) the Kaya toast is also yum! The Thai tea banana pudding is so good. It’s like a cup of cream, good to share for two. The mango sticky rice with ice cream was also very delicious. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!!

Was craving a sweet treat and stumbled upon this place. It's a cute little place near the park in the middle of the block. Easy to miss so just look for the park. The guy that worked there was so friendly and helpful really enjoyed our interaction and he made me feel appreciated for patronizing the business. I got the chestnut thai tea and the strawberry thai banana pudding everything was amazing. Would definitely return.

Google
Delicious! Their Thai tea is much more fragrant in both smell and flavor than what I am used to, and it’s also not as sweet. The kaya toast had a great texture and I personally found the pandan jam to be a little too sweet, but my partner thought it was great. Cute spot, would definitely come back again.

Google
I tried their Kaya toast with Thai tea flavor and also sweet thai tea. Loved the Kaya toast!! It reminded me of the ones I had in Singapore! I really need to try their pandan flavor next time! They also have ice creams and latte. It’s a cute little stop near flatiron and the staff is so nice! You also get a free drink after 8pm

Google
A nice dessert spot to visit when you’re craving that authentic bittersweet Thai tea flavor. I ordered the parfait with Thai tea ice cream and pandan kaya toast, which I enjoyed, but I wasn’t a super big fan of the pandan jam for some reason. Friendly server :)

Dessert/Drinks: 4.5/5 Service: 4.75/5 Ambiance: 4.5/5 Value: 2.5/5 This is a cute, cozy cafe tucked away in Midtown, specializing in delicious Southeast Asian inspired flavors. The dessert and drinks are exceptional, though the prices can be a little steep What we tried: Thai Iced Tea (4.75/5): Absolutely loved this! It had a strong, authentic tea flavor and was perfectly balanced—sweet but not overwhelmingly so. Definitely a must-order. Pandan Ice Cream (5/5): Five stars all the way. The pandan flavor was strong and natural, and it achieved that rare feat of being wonderfully rich without being excessively sweet. Kaya Thai Tea Toast (3.75/5): This was my least fave. While okay, I think it would be significantly better if it were served with a scoop of ice cream to complement the toast which is the parfait on the menu Tip: They offer a free Thai Iced Tea if you leave a Google review!

Google
We tried the Kaya toast with pandan topping so good! Also got the Thai iced tea latte with pandan cold foam. The cold foam is delicious!! Not as sweet as I’m used to but good. Not much seating!

Yelp
Cute shop walking distance from Madison Square Park and Herald Square. It is located right next to a small alley with benches outside. The inside is a long, narrow walkway with two tables and four chairs facing the park. People seem to grab and go or if they do sit down it's for a quick bite. They specialize in Thai Tea flavored items, but they also offer coffee and other products. I got a Thai Tea latte which is their version of the Thai iced tea, a scoop of Thai tea ice-cream, and the Thai tea kaya toast. The Thai tea latte comes in regular whole milk or oat milk for an extra dollar. The drink was milky and strong at the same time. It's not as sweet as other Thai iced tea. I saw a lady ask for more condensed milk in her drink. My boyfriend enjoyed the Thai tea latte though! The Thai tea ice-cream was my favorite out of the three items. It has strong Thai tea flavor with the sweetness of Ice-Cream, but it was not overly sweet to the point I cannot handle. It was honestly perfect. The kaya toast comes in pandan or Thai tea flavor. Ive always had kaya in it's original flavor or pandan flavor at home, so I decided to go for the thai tea. I like the flavor but I did not liked the toast. I think it was too airy and thick for my liking. I prefer it a bit more toasted. But overall, a very cute place. Would definitely be back if I'm craving Thai tea icecream or kaya. The server was very nice and accommodating too.

Yelp
LOVE LOVE LOVE This place! As a cafe dedicated to thai tea, I had concerns how diverse their menu could get but they get really creative with their rotating and special offerings, including a pandan cream top thai tea which was really delicious, though I will say the pandan overpowers the thai tea when it's all integrated, so I would personaly keep the layers mildly mixed - mix until it reaches your desired balance of thai tea and pandan. The thai tea quality is also quite good compared to an ordinary thai tea. I wanted to get the kaya toast, but was alone, so I opted for the less heavy mango ice cream with butterfly pea sticky rice which was yummmmmmmhyyyy! The mango puree adds that nice touch of sweetness that the rest of this not-too-sweet dish benefits from, and toasted nuts on top adds a nice crunch. Sticky rice cooked perfectly and chewy. This dessert was the highlight for sure. I'm gonna say this corny saying. But run, don't walk!!
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Everything's tasty especially the thai tea is not too sweet. Even though they don't have indoor dining space the store's just right next to a small park where you can enjoy the food there. Will recommend!

Yelp
Great cafe with excellent vibes. My friend and I came at 1:45 PM on a Wednesday and there was no line. Limited seating indoors, but it's attached to a big public plaza with plenty of seating outside. We came for the mango on cloud special, which was amazing. I also liked the Signature blend Thai tea latte and Thai tea on cloud. Will be back for Pandan Kaya toast!
google avatar

Stephanie T.

Yelp
I came back to nuar for their mango on cloud. The mango on cloud comprises of mango ice cream, butterfly pea sticky rice, mango puree, and toasted coconut. WOW!! If you have not tried this, you need to go to nuar ASAP and get it! Every bite was just as delicious as the first bite. Everything worked so well together and was so yummy. The dish is also very visually appealing and stimulates appetite. The portion is a great size and filling. Service is always great and friendly.

Yelp
Super cute cafe in flatiron featuring Thai tea drinks and Asian desserts! Stopped by with a friend to try the Thai tea. The cafe itself is a small space, but beautifully decorated with local art. The menu is pretty concise since they specialize in Thai tea, so I got their signature blended one which has milk and my friend got the Thai tea lemonade. The blended Thai tea latte was delicious with a strong herbal note from the tea. Less sweet/artificial tasting than other Thai teas I've had before. The lemonade Thai tea was super refreshing and tangy- perfect for a hot day. A little expensive for the size IMO though. We sat by the window which was really cute for people watching. There isn't too much seating, but on a Saturday afternoon it surprisingly wasn't crowded.

Yelp
Checked out this cafe when I was in the area! I ordered their Sweeten Thai Tea (which does not contain milk). It was delicious and although it is sweetened, I can still taste the hints of thai tea in the flavoring. I saw that their menu has pandan flavored desserts, so next time I visit, I'd like to try that! Their service was quick (there weren't a lot of customers when I was there). There are a couple window seating and a bench where you can sit at. The cafe isn't very big, but it's right next to a small park where there are seating under the trees. I'd recommend this place if you are nearby and need a quick pick me up during your day!

Yelp
Small cute shop hidden away at Midtown. Service is slow. Food is alright but very pricey for the portion size. We got the thai tea ice cream and pandan toast. It was decent but wouldn't run out of my way to get it.
google avatar

Tuhin C.

Yelp
What a cool concept! I loved the Thai Iced Tea theme concept. I shared a Pandan Toast with Thai Iced Tea flavored ice cream and it was great. The ice cream was perfect and had the exact amount of sweetness needed without being too overbearing. The toast with the pandan sauce was great. There are a few seats inside, but a lot of places to sit outside as well.
google avatar

Eri L.

Yelp
Cute little shop for Thai tea and pandan lovers, they specialize in Thai tea and spinoffs including toast, ice cream and lattes. They tend to be on the sweeter side. The ambience is small but adorable, and if there's free seating by the windows a great place to catch up with someone.
google avatar

Yelp
Thai Tea has a perfect balance of sweet, creamy, and a vibrant orange color that makes it so LIVELY to sip on. I've had my fair share of Thai Tea, some were sweeter or creamier than others but the drink was still very pleasant and well-crafted. NUAR flooded my social media, and so was my disappointment when I took my first sip. The Signature Iced Thai Tea Latte leaned too bitter and lacked aromatic essence of an authentic Thai Tea all around. One of NUAR's focus was not adding "a fake yellow sunset color" to get the true taste of Thai Tea. I totally get it, but the drink TASTED dull and lifeless, COLOR shouldn't be the selling point. I liked the outdoor area with lots of foliage but I don't think this was it for me.
google avatar

Caitlyn F.

Yelp
Cute and aesthetic spot to get thai tea and other desserts with friendly staff! I got the thai tea ice cream and it had a really good/strong thai tea flavor which I love. The pandan ice cream wasn't too overpowering and balanced well. My favorite was the summer special, which was like a mango sticky rice dessert with sticky rice and mango ice cream. Overall, a great spot for desserts, but not sure if I would pay $7-$8 for a thai iced tea.

Yelp
Nuar is a small dessert cafe known for their Thai tea and sweets. The interior has a bench and a few high-top bar seats that was perfect for people watching. PARFAIT (KAYA TOAST + ICE CREAM) - 15 + pandan kaya toast + Thai tea ice cream I was worried this would be too sweet, but fortunately, it was perfect! The pandan cream was delicious, and the Thai iced tea ice cream was smooth and creamy. My friend didn't think it tasted that much like Thai iced tea, but I was fine with it. The graham cracked crumble added a nice crunchy texture. The white bread used for toast was pretty ordinary and not very toasted. Besides that, it was a delicious dessert that my friend and I enjoyed together.

Yelp
Delicious! Need to go back and bring more family and friends. It's a small indoor space but there's places to sit outside. Friendly service, easy to order. Must try the parfait! It's the best of both worlds with the kaya toast and ice cream on top. Good to split. I had the pandan for both and was nervous I wouldn't like it having been exposed to lots of delicious pandan flavors previously, but I absolutely did enjoy this! I'd go back for it again, and loved the parfait enough that I'd want to try the Thai Tea version next time. The Thai iced tea lemonade and Thai iced tea had a bitter taste, and I'm not sure if that's the authentic flavor that I'm unused to or if it was truly oversteeped. I enjoyed them as a tea lover, but the parfait stole the show and was the best thing I ate all day by far. Must return for it!
google avatar

Cece L.

Yelp
Great quick service if there's no line. Although I appreciate that they make the Thai tea not too sweet and with oat milk options, I didn't think it was that special for the price you pay. It might be because so much of the flavor comes from the condensed milk. For a place specializing in Thai tea, I wish they had a lactose free condensed milk. Cute shop though, and love that it's next to a park area.
google avatar

Lydia P.

Yelp
I love Thai iced tea and knew I had to try this place when I found out about it. The Thai tea w/ coconut cream cold foam (one of their summer seasonal specials) was so light and refreshing and one of my favorite summer bevs. We also got the Kaya toast. The Thai tea cream was very concentrated which I liked. We decided to pair it w/ the pandan ice cream which added a nice vanilla-y/coconut-y flavor.
google avatar

Alan S.

Yelp
It used to be damn hard to find kaya toast in the city. Then came Kopitiam, and then Urban Hawker, and now a version from Thailand is available at this pleasant specialized cafe in Flatiron that makes excellent use of the public plaza outside. In addition to kaya jam, the buttered toast is served with a delicious pandan cream on top. Perhaps soft poached eggs aren't as popular as a pairing in Thailand, as the only add-on options are sweet - I would probably skip the azuki bean next time and have the toast plain, as it already has plenty of flavor.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
This is a great spot for chai lovers! I think the chai community could use a little love! This place is so aesthetically pleasing! Great for cute little photoshoots and I love the decor. The service is amazing! I enjoy the toast and the I got the hot chai! Overall I see myself coming back!!
google avatar

Yelp
Staffs were friendly. Ordered Signature Blend Thai Tea Latte and Pandan Kaya Toast which were delicious! Sweet Thai Tea has no milk. Only the latte has milk. There are two choices of drinks: 12 oz and 16 oz. They have outdoor courtyard which you can sit and enjoy your desserts and drink or sit inside. They sold out their Thai Tea Kaya Toast which was super popular. Would like to try it next time. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5
google avatar

Kayla Z.

Yelp
Very cute little cafe. They did have some seating indoors and a beautiful Area in a courtyard outdoors! The staff was so friendly and amazing! We tried the Thai tea with the coconut cloud and a regualr iced Thai tea latte. The coconut cloud Thai tea had a great flavor profile and it had little crispy coconuts on top which added a fun texture! The regular Thai tea was so delicious!!
google avatar

Deborah C.

Yelp
I love Thai tea so we absolutely had to try Nuar during our quick visit in the city. The space is tiny, with only four stools and one bench. When the weather is nice, there is seating outside in the public green space. We got the Thai Tea Float and Thai Tea Lemonade Soda. I liked how the float had a strong tea taste, which was balanced with the subtle sweetness of the ice cream. The soda was a nice and refreshing palate cleaner. I would definitely come back to try more of the menu!
google avatar

Jasmine L.

Yelp
The ice cream is good but I don't think it's worth the price. For $8.50 I would rather go to an ice cream shop with more variety of flavors and a smoother gelato texture. Service was quick and there are a few seats inside but the space is quite small.
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
The interior is pretty small with only a few counter seating but there's an outdoor area with some benches right outside. For $15, I got the parfait with the pandan ice cream and Thai tea kaya toast below. Not sure if I would say it's 100% worth the price but I personally really love honey toast so this definitely hit the sweet spot for me. I wish I could taste the Pandan and Thai tea flavor a little bit more though. Overall would come back if I was craving something sweet and filling!
google avatar

Linda M.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place! It is very expensive but worth it. Got sent here from an instagram reel but it definitely was worth the social media hype. The Thai tea is the best Thai tea I have ever had. The owner is Thai and the place is very authentic. We also got the Kaya toast with the pandan ice cream. Overall it was very pricey but worth it! Delicious and on a nice summer day you can sit outside in the beautiful park. Service was very quick too!
google avatar

Yelp
Naur is one of those hidden gems that's easy to miss but hard to forget once you try it. I first got the Thai tea with oat milk, which was super smooth and flavorful--not overly sweet like a lot of other places. I ended up coming back just to try the Thai tea without milk, and honestly, both versions were great in their own way. You can really taste the tea itself, which I appreciated. The inside of the shop is pretty small, so it's more of a grab-and-go spot, but they do have a nice outdoor patio if you want to chill for a bit. It's a great place to take a break, catch up with a friend, or just sip on something that doesn't taste like pure sugar. If you're into cleaner, more balanced Thai drinks, this spot's definitely worth checking out.
google avatar

Kimberly G.

Yelp
Such a yummy treat! The store itself is small but plenty of room to enjoy your order. I Ordered the Pandan parfait and Thai tea. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the parfait- the flavors and textures tasted so good! Service was fast and friendly. Definitely a sweet treat but nice and refreshing!
google avatar

Fennie W.

Yelp
Super cute spot! Came across it while taking a quick walk with my dog in between my appointments with my patients. The Thai tea is tasty and strong! Would def go back to try the desserts since I didn't get the chance to this time. There are also bench seating area and seating area against the windows facing outside. Very cute!
google avatar

Tiffany T.

Yelp
I've seen this spot pop up all over my socials, and as NYC's first dedicated Thai tea café, I was excited to check it out. The space has a minimalist setup and a short menu focused on Thai-style tea drinks and snacks like kaya toast. There was a bit of a wait to order and receive drinks -- likely because only two people were working and each drink is made to order. Signature Thai Tea I really wanted to like this, but I didn't. You can clearly taste the Thai tea leaves -- which is great -- but it leaned too bitter and lacked balance. I felt it needed more milk and sweetness to round it out. There was also a thick, astringent finish after every sip. It made the drink hard to enjoy. 1/5
google avatar

Patrick Z.

Yelp
Came here on impulse while in the area because Ive been hearing so many people rave over it and I really liked it! Like everyone says, the thai tea here is not too sweet like most restaurants make it (although they do have a sweet option if thats what you're looking for). I actually found this tea to have a bit of a nutty taste to it that was very delicious! Loved the inside it was so warm and inviting and on a nice summer day the doors are open to the public park space right next to it. Need to come back and try the toasts because it smelled so good in there.
google avatar

Victoria K.

Yelp
I really wanted to love this place because I'd seen so many pictures and videos online, but the signature tea missed the mark for me and my friends. When they say it's a signature thai tea latte, read it as emphasis on the latte part because the drink itself tasted very milky. The drink was both tea forward and milk forward. The tea was strong enough that it almost tasted slightly bitter because the drink itself is not sweet. This is not necessarily a bad thing-- I don't have a huge sweet tooth, so the sweetness level wasn't an issue for me, but I think Thai Iced Teas have a reputation of being a very sweet drink. So if that's what you're looking for, this likely isn't the drink for you. The drink color is also more of a brown than that vibrant orange that Thai Iced Tea usually is. Basically I think when you come here you should manage expectations. For me, I thought the cafe was a Thai Tea cafe, and so to receive a drink that didn't really taste like a Thai Iced Tea was very disorienting. I think nuar offers a new take on Thai Tea that may be worth a try at least once for Thai Tea lovers, but I don't think it's for every palate. I'd love to try their ice cream though!
google avatar

Sunny W.

Yelp
Their ice creams come in one scoop with two toppings included. I got the coconut ice cream and added dried coconut flakes and red bean paste. The texture was denser than I expected and looked like it had a lot of solid ingredients mixed in. I was surprised it came in yellow instead of the usual white. The coconut flavor was a bit milder than I thought, maybe because I was having it with their Thai tea latte. I'd definitely go back for another round. I want to try their pandan ice cream next time too.
google avatar

Tiffany L.

Yelp
A very cute place to grab a sweet treat (ice cream) or a drink (non-alcoholic). I came on a Tuesday after work, and it was busy! The actual business is a bit of a narrow space but there are a few chairs. There are more places to sit outdoors since it's next to a little public space with benches. I ordered the Thai iced tea ice cream, and to be honest I am not sure it was worth the price ($8+) since it was pretty small (it was good though) so I would probably just get a drink next time. I liked that the Thai iced tea drink was not bright orange nor overly sweet like at some places.
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
A small shop, but the staff was very friendly. A couple of seats available inside. We ordered a Thai tea and it was unlike any Thai tea I've had before. Very heavy on the tea flavor and definitely not too sweet. It was delicious, but took a bit to get used to. Next time, I'll definitely try their version of brick toast!
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Today I got the Thai Tea Kaya Toast and the Thai Ice Tea Latte. Thai tea Kaya Toast: Meh, can take it or leave it. Not great, not awful. Thai Ice tea latte: Probably the best thai ice tea I've ever had in ny, really good strong tea flavor, sweet but not too sweet. Overall: Will go to again, if you go, definitely get the thai ice tea latte. Super good.
google avatar

Claire C.

Yelp
really wanted to like this place but i didnt. my thai tea latte just tasted like watered down chocolate milk and perhaps im just not used to authentic thai tea but it wasn't something i wanted to pay that much for. my boyfriend's drink and mine also tasted different despite being the same thing. maybe just get one latte and see if you like the taste first before committing ‍‍ did not get a chance to try the dessert
google avatar

Connie G.

Yelp
Super cute Thai dessert spot with Thai toast, ice cream, and drinks! We got the summer special, which was a play on mango sticky rice (mango ice cream topped with mango puree and sticky rice on the side). I wished the mango flavor in the ice cream was stronger, and I wished there was more sticky rice, but overall it was solid. Would love to come back to try their toast desserts (especially the pandan/kaya flavors) and their Thai tea at some point.
google avatar

Katelynn T.

Yelp
Not too sweet-- the ultimate dessert compliment. The toast was warm, toasty and light, a perfect backdrop to the cold pandan ice cream that actually tastes like pandan. I loved the natural flavors coming through!
google avatar

Natalie H.

Yelp
You can't go wrong with any of the flavors. I liked the pandan jam on toast the best. The store is pretty small without much seating though, but it was definitely something you had to eat on a table or bench at least.
google avatar

Tunaidi A.

Yelp
Came for Nuar's thai tea ice cream, and it didn't disappoint. Grabbed the tea and toast as well and didn't regret it at all.
google avatar

Kevin C.

Yelp
Ordered the Pandan Kaya Toast. This is such a cool dessert that is worth trying, the bread is perfectly toasted and drizzled with a pandan condensed milk on top that adds a touch of sweetness. It's visually appealing and tastes just as you would expect. Definitely would recommend getting this if you can't decide. Location is a very slim storefront but with lots of depth going inside; it's located next to a small park so there is plenty of shaded seating area on concrete.
google avatar

Elaine T.

Yelp
I came during their opening week and loved their Thai tea that's unlike the overly sweet versions found everywhere else. Unfortunately they were out of the kaya toast when we went, would love to try another time. Bonus that it's close to my office as well, but there was a bit of a wait to order and receive my drink, so I would budget for that next time.
google avatar

Winston L.

Yelp
I really loved the vibe of nuar - it's a simple dessert cafe. There are a few high top seats available but overall the space is quite small. The service was prompt and friendly. We ordered the Thai tea toast and I thought it was good but nothing mind blowing. The spread was decent but I think the flavor of the Thai tea wasn't strong enough and the bread was just ordinary. nuar is definitely a cafe that is great for aesthetics and social media and I would be willing to try their drinks, but not sure if I would order their toast again.
google avatar

Jin Hao Y.

Yelp
The food at the place is okay. The menu isn't exactly big but there is usually a crowd outside of people trying the food. Honestly, I could hardly taste a difference between the Thai tea and Pandan toast as both just tasted like liquid sugar on toast. The food was quite authentic doe I guess.
google avatar

Savannah W.

Yelp
Very cute place with local art and Thai desserts. The Thai the is very rich and caffeinated. Cant wait to try something new next time. It's right next to a park that has more seating too. No WiFi unfortunately.
google avatar

Hannah H.

Yelp
nuar is a new tea and dessert spot that opened up in the Nomad area - their menu offers lattes, ice cream, parfaits, floats, and even toasts. You could even add toppings, such as tong muan (Thai crispy waffle), toasted coconut, red bean paste, cookie crumbles, and slated golden beans. We tried: _the Signature Blend Thai Tea Latte +the Thai Tea Lemonade Soda +and, the Pandan Kaya Toast Staff were friendly, and the place is very bright, simple, and clean inside.

Yelp
this place deserves way more recognition! It specializes in Thai tea and the ice cream was to die for!!! the service is also super friendly and kind highly recommend Thai tea ice cream with cookie crumbles and the coconut waffle
google avatar

Yelp
This place is such a gem! First off the two staff members I interacted with were so friendly! I saw someone post about this spot on Instagram and I knew I had to make this my first stop when I was back in NYC. I few years ago I spent time studying in Thailand and while I was there I fell in love with Thai tea and unfortunately have not found a great spot for it by me yet but I crave it all the time - so I had to stop at nuar as soon as I heard abkj! Their tea is sooooo good! I got just the signature Iced Thai tea latte and it was refreshing and exactly what I wanted. It was not overly sweet (which is how I like mine), the flavor was fantastic. Also the space itself is simple but adorable. The artwork along the walls, the little ordering window. It's just a gorgeous spot! Highly recommend planning a stop at nuar!

We came here around 5:30 on a Thursday and there was a lot of people. This place has a few seatings and it right near an outside seating space. We got the toast parfait with pandan ice cream. It was super delicious. I love the pandan ice cream with a good nice and refreshing pandan taste. The toast was drizzled with a thai tea syrup. I would come back again to try their thai tea and kaya toast.
