The 18 Best Restaurants In Westchester - New York - The Infatuation

"Chinese restaurant O Mandarin is perfect for a Sunday night family dinner, a group celebration, or even just some comfort food to-go if you don’t want to wait out the no-reservations policy. Focus on the signature dishes like wild pepper shrimp and crispy rice, or the spicy Mandarin pork shank if you can handle the heat, and keep in mind that the scallion bubble pancake is on every table for a reason. Or, make a game-time decision to go big with the peking duck. And don’t be fooled by the Hartsdale strip mall location: O Mandarin blends modern and traditional elements with lots of carved wood accents that make it all feel like a proper night out." - mike wasserman

"Its stark exterior does not hint at the warm vibe or enticing bites, bound to tempt even the most stoic eater here. One glance around this buzzy and well-appointed dining room proves that it is cherished by multi-generational groups. The setting paints an intriguing picture, thanks to sleek, intricately carved wooden panels, tables, chairs and vivid artwork. Semi-private booths are ingeniously lit, and most popular. The menu boasts a litany of delightful appetizers, like tender soup dumplings. Classics—like garlic-pepper shrimp with leeks and celery—are prepared with exacting technique and deliver wonderful flavor. Available as half or whole (depending on your party's size), slow-cooked Beijing duck is a sensory thrill." - Michelin Inspector

A Guide to Westchester County’s Top Restaurants | Eater NY

"From the strip-mall parking lot, O Mandarin looks like the average Chinese restaurant. But entering the restaurant feels like a passage into owner Peter Liu’s native China, with intricately carved screens and Chinese antiques. Chef and two-time James Beard semifinalist Eric Gao specializes in Sichuan cuisine (expect lots of mouth-numbing peppercorns across the menu) and dishes that aren’t found on Chinese American menus, like silky thousand layer tofu, Sichuan hot pot, beef tendon, and a Peking duck that requires a three-to-four day process of air drying and roasting with malt sugar before being tucked into handmade pancakes." - Samantha Garbarini

Had a really great dinner here during a weeknight, it was not too busy. It’s a very unassuming space in a strip mall but when you go inside, it’s really well done inside and a great vibe and ambience. We shared a bunch of great stuff, including the mushrooms and bok choy, a great beef dish, a great chicken dish, and a bunch of great appetizers. Highly recommend for dinner, but make sure to call before you come if it’s on a weekend because it definitely gets busy.

We stopped to eat and tried the Smoked Duck fried rice and puffy scallion pancakes also had an Asian braised beef brisket clay pot that was really great, Definitely coming back to try other things

I dined at O Mandarin today for dinner, and I can assure that this restaurant serves wonderful food that will leave you full. To start, I ordered the jellyfish, which is by no means a common appetizer, but indeed refreshing, and left me suprised. It was served cold with sesame oil, cucumber, cilantro, and sesame seeds, which added a nutty and fresh flavor. For my main course, I ordered the lotus stir fry with pork. The lotus root was crunchy and paired well with the other vegetables, such as chili, wood ear mushroom and bell peppers. Abby, our server at the bar, provided exceptional service and hospitality. Overall, O Mandarin is an outstanding Chinese restaurant in the Westchester area, and I recommend it to all that want a night out or simply a flavorful meal.

Google
As a Chinese American I try to be fair in rating a Chinese restaurant that has non Chinese servers. I rate the food here as authentic. I had the Tea smoked duck and of course it was salty, duck dishes usually are, but the tea flavor was very well infused through the meat. We also had the soup dumplings which were good, I’d give 4/5 for that. They’re not a soup dumpling place so if that’s what you’re really going for I’d find a place that specializes in it. The Mandarin Riblet noodle soup was good too but again 4/5, it was bland for my taste. Would be a great soup if you’re sick and want a clear broth. As others have said it is on the pricier side, saw many guests celebrating birthdays so we be a good place to meet friends for a celebration. Plenty of seating.

Love taking people to this spot. They have soup dumplings which are the best. The smoked duck crispy buns are delicious. It's a spacious and enjoyable place to relax and try different foods out.

Google
Food is delicious! The portions are large and some great selections! We had the Braised Beef Brisket Clay Pot, Smoked Duck Fried Rice, and Scallion Pancakes. Everything was very flavorful! We actually had enough to bring home plenty of leftovers. We will definitely be back!

Yelp
First off, definitely make a reservation. We ended up sitting at the bar because there was a 45 min wait which was fine for us as we we were hungry but if you want a table, definitely make a reservation. It was so beautiful in there and I would love to sit at a table next time just so I can fully experience the references to Chinese architecture in the decor. Now, I am a soup dumpling connoisseur and I loved these ones, very flavorful and filled as much as they could've been. I will say I found the filling to be a bit more fatty than I am used to but thats what gives them such a rich flavor so I didn't mind it. Then I got the steak and scallions which was really tender and marinated in a sweet sauce that was really good. The more onions the better in my opinion! Although I wish they had been cooked down a bit more. The rice was good but there was a flavor in there that I couldn't put my finger on and could've done without it, but it served its purpose as a side dish. TMI but I will say... I got some really bad stomach issues that I believe were caused by the steak but nothing lasting past one trip to the bathroom and honestly was still worth it lmao. I would go back. It wasn't absolutely perfect but still a really great experience! Shoutout to Mark D. our server who was great! Such a nice smile and warm energy!

Yelp
For this price range among Chinese restaurants, options are limited. The place was extremely crowded and noisy -- more reminiscent of a bustling grocery store than a dining space. The atmosphere was uncomfortable, with little room for relaxation. The food was average, with noticeable inconsistency in the chefs' skills -- sometimes impressive, other times disappointing. Service was underwhelming. Restroom space is minimal, and you'll likely have to wait in line.

Yelp
This place is amazing! We ordered a variety of things to try. Shumai, Dan Dan noodles, Ribs, Wonton soup, Ginger Shrimp Everything was delicious! Recommend highly! I don't take any pics bc I was too busy stuffing my face!

Yelp
I came here a few weeks ago with my grandmother who's a big fan of this restaurant. Our waiter, Yusef was amazing and very patient with her. We both ordered from the lunch specials which were delicious! They came with soup and a bowl of rice as well. We tried the toro dessert, which was surprisingly good - although a unique flavor. The interior is beautiful. This is a great spot. Just keep in mind when the food says it's spicy it's going to be spicy.

Yelp
Great place for Chinese not too far from H Mart. Love the big poofy scallion pancakes. Be sure to check out the lunch options which are also available for dinner, though easy to miss that in menu. Pepper chicken, honey rock shrimp and triple delight were all delicious. Service is quick but the wait can be long during peak dinner hours.

Yelp
Great Chinese restaurant. Phenomenal decor . Service good. Nice lunch menu. lunch included soup with entree. Located in strip mall. My entree was wonton soup and General Tsas chicken.

Yelp
The food was delicious! Our table ordered 3 diff soups. Egg drop , wonton, and hot and sour! We ordered 3 dishes. Shrimp dish, pork and beef , forgot names we also ordered the delicious soup dumplings! We had one issue... we were not finished with our soups and dumplings, table was covered in dishes and they brought out the main entrees ! We asked them to take them back and let us finish and then clear the table! It really ruined what would have been a great evening !

Yelp
Very pleasantly surprised at the delicious meal we had at O Mandarin, in white plains. I found this spot through good yelp reviews and decided to stop by for lunch. I was a bit sad that they did not have the lunch special menu, which I did see in other reviews as being available on Sundays too. However that is not the case lunch specials menu only for weekdays. When we walked in, the decor is very nice. The service was quick and attentive and oh the food came out lightning speed! I was so surprised. However I learned from our server that today was a slow day and that usually on a typical Sunday lunch there would be a 40+ min wait! I was shocked! albeit the restaurant was very full. We ordered the Dan Dan noodles to start, which was so spicy it made me numb. I would not order this again. And then we ordered the eggplant, basil chicken and the thousand tofu layer. I asked for all the dishes to be no/ low spicy. Which they were able to for the mains. But not for the Dan dan noodles which numb my tongue! Overall great service. No lunch menus on the weekends, portions are large and had to take home. Good flavors and lightning speed food arrival !

Yelp
O Mandarin was an excellent find. I haven't been having much luck finding good spots in the Westchester area for a satisfying lunch with my parents but I had a good feeling about O Mandarin on account that it shares the same strip mall with an H Mart. (Here's a secret to sniffing out a worthwhile joint - look up the various H Mart locations and see which restaurants are next door. Chances are, the food should be pretty good for hungry shoppers who want something besides the food court.) The inside leans hard into the kitschy, made to look like the interior of an ancient Chinese temple. If they were also playing twinkly flute music to complete the atmosphere, I wouldn't be surprised. But lots of Chinese families eating there, and so again, I was optimistic. The menu is diverse, with a Szechuan influence, but there are also buns and dumplings if you want to scratch a dim sum itch. We ordered the following, all of which I'd order again, except for maybe the tofu and veggie clay pot: 1. Beef rib: By far my favorite. The rib was (as the cliche goes) fall off the bone tender, no need to use the accompanying knife. I loved the cubes of fried taro hidden in the sauce. 2. Deep fried whole fish in black bean sauce: A dish that my family will almost always order if we see it on the menu. This was a fantastic rendition, fish was fried well enough to preserve the flaky white meat. 3. Chongqing chili chicken: I'm not the biggest fan of the spicy, numbing part of this dish but my husband loved it and was inhaling the peppers whole. 4. Tofu and veggie clay pot: I would go with another vegetable dish next time. I loved the cut-up tofu but everything was slathered in that super thick, indeterminate brown sauce that made everything taste one-note. Dishes come with your choice of white or brown rice. Given the weekend lunch hour, it was a little hard flagging down a waiter when we needed extra utensils or a refill of the tea, but otherwise no complaints. For about $180 for four people, we left very satisfied and with leftovers.

Good food and service, we would go back again. Portion size and flavor were very good.

Yelp
Had a dinner on yesterday, that is Monday. House was packed until 8:39 or 9:00 we needed to wait for our table. This place was on highly recommended in local news and good rates on our fellow yelpers. All services were very slow after we sat at table. Restaurant itself is good but limited menu. What we had were good but unsatisfied with their selection. Considering what we got, how we enjoyed and what we paid, I don't think I give any higher than 3 stars.

Yelp
I almost want to rate O Mandarin lower because of the well-known, peer-reviewed theory by Freddie Wong that the best Chinese restaurants have 3.5 stars (https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTYG5yt51/) but I can't because O Mandarin is just too good!! And also, I did take out so I can't comment on the service. It's been a while since I've ordered Chinese food because normally I'm disappointed but not this time. If you order one thing it's gotta be the eggplant. It's so flavorful I could eat an entire bowl of it (and if it weren't for sharing it with others, I could have because the portions are generous!) The thousand layer tofu was also delicious and unique (to me). Seemed similar to Aburage- a Japanese tofu preparation with thinly sliced fried tofu, that was then stir fried with veggies and a tasty sauce. The chow mein was pretty standard and great to round out the meal. It all came with two portions of rice, on a whim I chose the brown rice which was shockingly delicious. I've never had brown rice that I liked and this was perfect. Anyway, O Mandarin will definitely now be my go to in the area! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
I finally found a dine in Chinese restaurant with great food and service. My son and I decided to try this place for lunch and I'm so glad we went. We started with apps, spring rolls and soup dumplings which were piping hot and very fresh. My only complaint is that we really wanted regular dumplings but they come with pork and shrimp combined (my son is allergic to shellfish) so we settled on the soup dumplings. They were delicious as were the spring rolls. We then ordered sesame chicken, shrimp and broccoli (for me) and we shared an order of beef fried rice. I don't think I've ever ordered shrimp and broccoli and was given more than five shrimps - my plate was full of large size shrimp, fresh broccoli and it comes with white rice. I also tasted my son's sesame chicken and it was just as good too! It was so much food we couldn't finish it all and took the rest home. The one thing I noticed is that when I reheated my food the next day it was just as good as the first day - that's a rarity in my opinion. Our waiter was very good and very attentive to our needs and the decor is really nice. While it isn't the cheapest restaurant it isn't the most expensive and the food is definitely worth it. A must go to if you're in the area and I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
O'Mandarin is one of those places I keep coming back to. I've been a few times and it's always solid. The Dan Dan Noodles, Cold Sesame Noodles, and Cabbage & Pork Belly were all packed with spice and flavor--especially the pork belly, which was rich but really well-balanced. The service is friendly and quick, and I've never had trouble walking in without a reservation. The space is dark and traditional, which gives it a low-key vibe yet formal vibe. It's an easy favorite when I'm craving something comforting in Westchester County.

Yosuke I.

Yelp
3 of us on Friday night. ordered Cabbage with pork belly, Kumpao chicken and wild pepper beaf. All three dished are super salty to eat making drinking water constantly. Were there any changes in cooking staffs, I wonder.

Yelp
A friend of mine been telling me to come here his daughter-in-law is Chinese and he says it's amazing and she likes it so for a date night we decided to come. It's right next to the H Central Avenue so I had mistaken it as part of HR and didn't realize it's there. Plenty of parking because the parking lot is huge cool we didn't make a reservation and we Made a mistake because it was like a 15 minute wait wasn't long but it's pretty popular. The place is lovely to look at waterfall at the entrance seating to wait at and people at the bar as we are seated. I order house sake quite good pretty little glasses we had dim sum Soup dumplings were delicious chicken filled with trouble new on the menu. I ordered a duck fried rice, which is personal favorite with bone in fish hole fried you had a choice between a sweet-and-sour and a bean sauce. I ordered the beans sauce, yummy, and my boyfriends triple delight with pine nuts was to die for I wish I had ordered that even though my fish was quite good Our waiter Walter went out of his way to be accommodating and kind and explain anything we need and ask us if we need sauces or any special attention to dessert more cocktails he was very attentive. I can say that this is not a cheap place to get it, but it is delicious and it does seem like the real deal. We should go if you can totally worth it.

Yelp
I loved it here. I've ordered from here many times but the last time I was craving OM I stopped in. I love the ambiance and cozy vibes here. The food was amazing. We ordered several dishes including noodles, dumplings and chicken. I loved everything we tried. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for delicious, authentic food.

Yelp
Our first time at this restaurant! We had made a reservation and were seated right away. Most of the tables were filled upon arrival. Our waiter was lovely and very knowledgeable! We had a corner table, which was a tad dark, but otherwise fine. We requested the dim sum to be brought out first for the app. We asked for the pineapple fried rice to be brought out with the main dishes. When it wasn't, we were told it's made by a different department. It was delivered approximately 10 minutes after the main dishes were served. Next time, we will ask for it to be delivered earlier with the apps. I love that you can have any lunch special turned into a dinner dish!! Highly recommend the eggplant & general tsos chicken! We will be back!

Yelp
Since moving from the UWS, I've lamented the lack of good Chinese options in Westchester. I used to have an awesome Sichuan restaurant that delivered to me in 15min, so did not recognize the true luxury that was. After going through a few underwhelming options, I happened upon O Mandarin. Place has the reviews and a cool looking menu, so after seeing something that looked like my favorite dish (spicy shrimp with red pepper), I gave it a shot for delivery. They send in fancy customized bags which is kind of cool. Soup dumplings were a very good rendition of a classic. Good quality port too. I got the wild pepper shrimp as you might be able to guess. This was a lot really good quality shrimp, in a slightly spicy sauce. I was a little disappointed as I was hoping for a crapton of Sichuan peppercorns, however it was still pretty tasty. Not sure why there were so many damned onions though. My wife liked her lo mein too. Will keep searching for a place that does shrimp with red pepper the way I like it. This place is probably awesome in person, and there's a lot of interesting things on the menu, however for delivery it's a bit pricey. Would give another shot though, and maybe call it in to see if they can make what I'm looking for.

Yelp
It was a little pricey for the food but the food tasted good and it's in New York. The service is great and attentive.

Yelp
10/10. I never imagined such an amazing restaurant could be found in an unassuming strip mall right next to a BBQ Chicken and an H Mart. I came here with a party of 8 for a graduation party, and it was the perfect choice of restaurant. The service was spectacular; the staff even provided candles for our cake! And the food was outstanding. The scallion bubble pancake is a unique take on the typical scallion pancake, and it was so addicting to eat - especially paired with the curry sauce. The peking duck was also delicious, along with the several other dishes I tried (smoked duck fried rice, dan dan noodles, cold jellyfish salad, pork belly and cabbage, etc.). The whole fish was beautifully presented, and the sweet and sour sauce was a great choice. The fish was also deboned, which I appreciated as someone who doesn't like eating fish with bones. My entire experience here was amazing!
google avatar

Yelp
REALLY enjoyed Omandarin! I went with a friend for an early dinner and we ordered several appetizers with the intent of getting at least one main course. But....we got full! All of the dumpling options were absolutely delicious and I especially loved the steamed buns (which were served "deconstructed" to build your own). The decor is lovely and service was spot on. By the time we left, the dining area was almost full. I recommend going early or making a reservation. I'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Stumbled upon this restaurant on a work trip to the area and was pleasantly surprised. The vibe inside reminded me of something you'd see in the city. It was packed, busy, and the servers were buzzing around all over the place. It's definitely a place that you need to make a reservation for, I was able to get a seat at the bar but it got pretty tight there as well as the night went on. The food was really good and seemed very fresh. I started with the Dan Dan Noodles, something I order everywhere that has it on the menu. They had a nice light heat and flavor, seemed like the noodles were cooked al dente. For my main, I had the wild pepper chicken and then convinced the rest of the bar to order it as well. It was SOOO good! Nice level of heat from the different peppers, the chicken was nice and tender, and it looked like it came out on a skillet so it was piping hot. Would definitely recommend.

Nikoleta R.

Yelp
Love coming to this place for appetizers- service is always so fast and food is delicious. We love the Dan Dan noodles and mouthwatering chicken the most.
google avatar

Tiarelei W.

Yelp
Decided to try this place while on a business trip in the area. The restaurant is beautiful with traditional decor and lots of beautiful wood. I definitely was hungry because I ordered way too much food but it was so good! Spicy wonton- sauce was a tad salty but still good with less sauce Shumai- plump shrimp, filled with broth and yummy dipping sauce Shrimp fried rice- good size shrimp that they weren't stingy with. Great seasoning! Green beans- extra peppery but so good. Had a god crunch! Bok choy and mushrooms- earthy with great flavor General Tso's- large pieces of chicken, crispy with a tangy sauce. Service was decent. Servers were nice but never came back to check so I had to consistently flag them down. I will definitely come back!

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant ands the interior decor wowed us. the only downside is its very dim inside. so regardless of time of day you feel like you're having dinner. we loved everything we tried, but the asparagus and sweet pea were extra fresh and crunchy. the general tso chicken was on fire, our mouths were enjoying that sweet hot saucy chicken ands you can literally see the hot peppers in the dish. ask for mild if you can't handle the heat. our favorite dish was the soup dumplings. we forgot to take pictures because we were so impressed with the presentation and how yummy they looked. id go and just order soup dumplings all day if we could. look forward to returning to try other dishes. i couldn't give this place five stars because it was dimly lit and the wait staff appeared annoyed when we asked for forks.
google avatar

MengYao L.

Yelp
Omandarin is a staple and we stopped by on Valentine's Day. There was a long wait but definitely well worth it. We usually order to go but wanted to sit down to celebrate. We try to order something different every time we go because they have such a big menu. I also recommend trying the duck dishes which are also super good.

Yelp
Every bite confirms their commitment to quality. Quiet find with top-notch everything. The food hit all the right notes. This staff member was remarkably approachable and personable. I'll return with friends, the quality stands out.

Yelp
YUM! Ordered takeout today for lunch for five people, food was made and delivered within 30 minutes. Food was super good, way better than I expected. Shrimp lettuce cups were delicious and fresh, good portion of food for under $20 too. We split it between two people. Beef bao type buns/steamed buns were great and came disassembled so nothing got soggy in transport. Fun to make them yourself too. The tofu with veggies was amazing, tofu wasn't too squishy or soggy but tasty and flavorful. Not a bad item in the bunch. Would love to stop in for lunch/dinner at the restaurant.

Rich T.

Yelp
This has been our go to for takeout until the other night when we found a half eaten piece of fish in the food, bite marks and all. Really disgusting.
google avatar

Kyle S.

Yelp
The restaurant atmosphere is beautiful. The staff were friendly but the service was painfully slow. The wontons in the wontons soup were very good, but the broth was bland. The beef short ribs looked delicious. Unfortunately, they were tough and nearly inedible, the gravy covering the ribs wasn't flavorful either. The hotpot soup broth was flavorful but way too spicy. To Omandarin's credit, they do give great portion size. However, portion size is irrelevant if the food isn't good.
google avatar

Tara G.

Yelp
I was impressed by this cute little spot that I've driven by countless times and never even seen. Thank you Yelp lol because it recommended it and the food was amazing. If you are looking for some authentic spice, they have some serious choices. We had Dan Dan Noodles, Soup Dumplings and Sichuan Chili Oil Stew with beef. The stew was the star (see my pics). The portion was large enough for 4 people, or maybe 2 very hungry adults but my daughter and I barely put a dent it in. I would call this a 4.5. Second visit and I had the braised beef noodle soup and it was insanely good.

So good, always dine in or out. The place has a great vibe and food to match. Service is always good. Wish I came more often...

Yelp

Yelp
Hands down the tastiest Chinese (Sichuan) restaurant in Westchester. We've enjoyed almost every dish we've had here, but highlights are: - thousand layer tofu - chengdu fish soup - lotus root stir fry - wild pepper [meat of choice] (the waiter also offered a fish option) - crispy whole fish I want to try more on the menu, but hard not to always get some of those hits. It gets quite crowded, so sometimes there can be a 30-40min wait. Definitely worth it though.
google avatar

Howard W.

Yelp
Terrific food, large portions. Definitely not your average Chinese takeout. They get busy, especially on weekends and they won't take reservations for less than 4. Nonetheless, it's worth the wait. Not cheap but worth the price.
google avatar

Judy S.

Yelp
Went here today for their lunch special after hearing good reviews. Truly beautiful interior and excellent service - about half full at lunch today. Stand out dish was the Wild Pepper Beef (can have Chicken or Shrimp also) - Was noted as very spicy - did not find the spice level hot at all. Smoky flavor and was really different. Also had the Kung Pao Chicken - excellent as well. Won Ton soup was very good also. Strongly recommend - a real winner!

Charles K.

Yelp
Service is good but the Quality of the food is nothing special. I wouldn't recommend this place. I stopped going there.
google avatar

Marc K.

Yelp
The service was expedient and attentive. The lighting was much better than average, and was able to see all the menu items. A noise was about average maybe just a little bit noisier from all the music but not so bad. All of food was toothsome. A chili chicken was a rather interesting dish. The morsels of chicken more about the size of a dime Some where smaller and very few larger. They were absolutely perfectly crisp. They were not too greasy and the chicken inside was rather tasty and not the least bit dry. There was an over abundance of chili peppers, but that's what the dish is called. Not a bad thing. The cabbage and pork belly dish had oh so little pork. Oh my oh mandarin. Honestly, I found myself rummaging through a ton of cabbage to unsuccessfully find small amounts of it in the depths and recesses if the bowl. That said, the dish did taste rather splendid. If I was to go back, and I will--probably asked the waiter to remind the chef to not be so stingy with the pork portion.

Yelp
A michelin starred restaurant located in what deceivingly looks like an unimpressive shopping strip in Westchester county. Upon entry the ambience captivates you, it's dimly lit, contemporary, clean and a more mid to upscale chinese food dining experience. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. The restaurant can get rather full even on a Thursday night so highly recommend securing a reservation before going. If you're a fan of duck, opt for the duck! It's so meticulously prepared, sliced well, and served with the traditional pancakes. Portions for the price could definitely be bigger so order additional entrees with the meal. Overall a great spot to enjoy some well prepared chinese food that isn't the most authentic but more elevated.

Yelp
It looks like an high end Chinese restaurant, catering to western clientele. Not a popular Chinese dim sum place for family dinners!

Yelp
Came here with friends for dinner and it was amazing. We ordered Beijing Duck and it was crispy, tasty, fresh, delicious, and great portions. I had the chance to eat the drumstick and it was superb. Best piece of meat ever... Damn!!! We ordered other dishes like veggies, tofu, fish, and other. They were amazing. Love this place!

Yelp
I order many noodle and main dishes for take out. Specifically ask, then repeated again that NONE of it have mala taste as I didn't like the numbing feeling, but they added it anyway. Didn't notice until I drove all the way back home 20 minutes away. Called to let them know. They said they would give me a refund but I don't believe they ever did. Haven't gone that direction since. Decor was definitely a plus but I didn't dine in so...

Yelp
Fantastic! We went with eight people and got several appetizers and 5 meals to share. Each one was different and all were delicious! We all left full and happy. It is my new favorite Chinese restaurant around here. We'll be back!

Yelp
This place is straight up awesome. Outside looks like a normal restaurant but inside it is a jewel! The ambiance is gorgeous and very pleasing aesthetics. I am a fan of the decoration as well as the seating arrangements. The food is very delicious and you can tell this is premium ingredients used in the dishes. I got dan dan noodles and mongolian beef as well as toothpick lamb. i think the toothpick lamb was better because of the spicy flavors. the toothpick is a weird choice but luckily it was fun to eat and was a recommendation. the dan dan noodles was good too. i absolutely love the food and service was very polite and always checking up on us. I recommend this place for anyone in the area! I give this place a 8.8/10 A rating!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants of the year so far! We got the grandma'a steam bun which was like a 4 make your own bao buns. We did the chicken version and it was so good and fun to do. We also got the soup dumplings and the triple delight to split as an entree with chicken, beef, and shrimp. Everything was so good! The staff was friendly and the vibes were really nice with the darker lighting. I'd definitely recommend it and I'll definitely be back!

Yelp
O'Mandarin is an exceptional Chinese restaurant in the White Plains area. I have had the pleasure of dining here a number of times now and it is always a flavorful and warming experience. The inside of the restaurant, walking in from the strip-mall exterior, is beautiful with Chinese decor, semi private booths, and varied dining spaces as well as a decent sized bar. The authentic Sichuan dishes filled with spice and flavor are definitely the way to go. The Mapo Tofu and Sichuan Storm Fish are my favorites. Most recently my group also ordered the fiery Chong Qing Chili Chicken which was loaded with small morsels of wok fried chicken tossed with a seemingly irresponsible amount of dried chili peppers (our waiter did warn us), it was delicious. The Dan-dan noodles are also a favorite of mine that didn't make the cut on this trip. For Shanghai cuisine, the Soup dumplings are always solid and the best in the area without venturing into the city or queens. The bubble scallion pancakes are also unique - with two pancakes to an order each overflowing out of small wicker baskets and accompanied by a mildly spicy red curry dip. Our server was excellent and helped guide us through the menu and made sure we were satisfied with our meal. On this most recent visit, our serving of the Sichuan Storm Fish was unfortunately very heavy on the batter with very little fish, this was quickly remedied and the replacement order was as delicious as it had been previously. Prices are fair for the quality of the food you are getting, I would prefer to receive more rice with the entrees. Our group of three were presented with 2 small bowls of white rice, I would have expected a larger serving to accompany the amount of food we had ordered. Overall this is my go to place when craving real Chinese food in Westchester and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic experience in the area.

Yelp
First thing you do...make a reservation. The place is always very busy...but that's a good thing. There's tons of parking out front in the lot. Last time we were there, we made our reservations in advance and we were seated promptly. The waitress was kind, friendly and always had a smile. The ambiance is very authentic in appearance (or what seems to be). Very cool and unique atmosphere. Me and my girl started off the meal with 2 bowls of their hot and sour soup...which tasted great and wasn't too hot. We also ordered some soup dumplings which were served hot on a bamboo stacker. Very delicious. For drinks we both had a couple seltzers with lemon. For our main course I ordered the O Mandarin duck and my girl ordered the sesame chicken dish. We also got some smoked duck fried rice and stir-fried string beans on the side. Everything was cooked great and tasted awesome! I would suggest to anyone looking for good Chinese food...give this place a try. You won't be disappointed. Like I said...just call in advance.
