What a chill place to have brunch! Busy but service did a good job of keeping up. Had the breakfast burritos(bacon) plenty of food to share. Would suggest getting a sweet breakfast to share along with the burrito. Coffee was good and throw in the amazing view… will be back here again!

I've managed to find street parking here down Santa Monica Ave every time. OB Surf Lodge is the laid-back surfer-vibe restaurant to go to after a morning beach jog or surfing. I've gotten the beef machaca (shredded beef) breakfast burritos every time and they're always tasty with the spicy red salsa, though the salsa verde is also tasty. There are plenty of photos on their website of the food for the avid foodie trying to choose. I recommend coming here when visiting OB with friends, but it gets loud during brunch hours so be prepared to have light conversation accompanying your meal.

I ordered a spicywatermelon margarita and asked the bartender if he could make it extra spicy. His response? "It's already spicy." Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case at all—it lacked any real heat. The Mai Tai was even worse. It missed the mark completely, making for an overall disappointing drink experience.

The oceanfront setting is perfect for a relaxing breakfast, with fast and friendly service that makes you feel right at home. We chose a bar bench with a fantastic view of the surfers in the distance—absolutely ideal for soaking in the morning vibe. A word of advice: skip the parking garage next door! At $12 an hour, it's overpriced, and the empty garage had an unpleasant smell. Instead, we found free street parking for two hours, which saved us $24—definitely worth it! As for the food, it was simply amazing. Our hostess was helpful and suggested a few options; I went with the Pesto Baked Eggs with Sourdough toast, while Erik opted for Dave’s Breakfast Special. Both were delicious—clean plate club all around! It’s clear the ingredients are fresh, and the attention to detail really shows. I personally love trying something I would not make at home and this pesto egg bake was delicious! Even the manager made rounds to ensure everything was to our satisfaction, which was a nice touch. They are also dog friendly and have a PUP Menu available for your furry pet. Overall, OB Surf Lodge offers a delightful dining experience with stunning views and exceptional food. One of my friends was visiting and we thought we'd try OB Surf Lodge out. They have such a nice location so close to the OB beach front. It was rather busy granted it was a beautiful Saturday morning! We were honestly pleasantly surprised by their food. The portions sizes were fairly large and actually tasty! I ordered the OB Chicken Biscuit and loved the sandwich itself. The coleslaw was the perfect pair to the drier biscuit. The breading on the chicken wasn't too thick and nicely crispy. The sweet potatoes fries were satisfying and hit the spot!

Great location right across from the ocean. We got a table facing out for our last meal of the trip. Enjoyed a few beers and some happy hour bites. The food was average, nothing crazy. This place def lives off the view, which you can't question is very appealing.

Absolutely loved this place, by far our favorite place we ate at during our weekend in San Diego!! Came here for brunch with a pretty big group, but the staff was so friendly and accommodating for us. Since we were seated outside, they even tried so hard to cover all the direct sunlight that was hitting our table by setting up so many umbrellas around us. Our waitress gave amazing recs and we all loved our meals -- overall, amazing staff. For food, I got the chilaquiles and shakshuka, which were both delicious - the chilaquiles was a bit more flavorful and spicy. We also got the apple cobbler french toast as a dessert at the end, and it was super fluffy and the perfect amount of sweetness. 100% would recommend going if your in San Diego, and great views of the beach right next door too!!

This is like a 3.5. Because the food is a 4 but the service is a 3. It felt like he kept running away when we tried to order or before I could ask questions about the menu. I got the tiramisu coffee- delicious! For how expensive it was- it is a small size so not a daily coffee for me but a once in a while treat. I also got the pesto eh bake (amazing! And so original. Happy to see new foods for a vegetarian) and a pancake (which also satisfied my sweet cravings). I was happy with all my food choices. Even the interior design is west coach beachy but still cozy and green. It really only loses a star for me because of the service. And it wasn't even busy for a brunch. And a half star for pricing because 3 items shouldn't be $60.

This place was busy on July 4th. Came here with a large group which we separated into 2-3 smaller groups with the larger one sitting outside. It took a while to get service as they had a on-flow of people just finishing lunch hour. We came around 1pm. Dog friendly area outside, they even had a pup menu! I settled for the carnivorous scramble while my husband got the lodge burger cooked medium rare. I was quite satisfied although my eggs weren't scrambled with everything as I was picking out specific things to eat (meat and eggs). I took it back for leftovers. My husband ate everything of his, going a bit healthy with the salad. All their food looked v hearty (and worth the price of ~$20 each) and also looked pretty similar to their pictures online. Our group enjoyed our time here. They have both mens and women's bathrooms. Women's bathroom had 2 small stalls and 1 large stall. Parking was difficult on July 4th all around, and our group was staying on the beach to play volleyball and celebrate July 4th along with welcoming our friends wedding party for the weekend. I would come again, and hopefully with less dietary restrictions to try more things.

To say that I'm obsessed with the pesto baked eggs at OB Surf Lodge's brunch would be an understatement. I love them so much that I've attempted to recreate them at home. They're not quite the same but the simple discovery of how amazing pesto is when added to eggs has changed my life. Although the eggs are pictured as sunny side up, I always request them to be scrambled as I don't like runny yolk. On my second visit to get these eggs, the waiter was unsure if they could do it but thankfully confirmed with the kitchen. I'm not usually a spinach fan but this spinach is barely noticeable. This has become one of the spots that we regularly take my boyfriend's mom when she comes to town and I always look forward to it.

OB Surf Lodge deserves 5 stars for the food and the vibes! Located in the middle of OB, right on the water the view is amazing! A group of gals and I went for brunch on Saturday morning and we were expecting a long wait but we were sat within 5 min. Everything on the menu looked amazing so it was hard to choose but 5 of us ordered the breakfast sandwich on their homemade biscuits and all I can say is WOW. it was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever had and came with a generous portion of potatoes. Everyone enjoyed their food and drinks but the service could have been a bit better. I'm still giving them 5 stars for the food!

Food is consistent in taste. Good service, and great location overlooking the beach . We go specifically for brunch and the Brie stuffed French toast

Beautiful view & friendly service! Food was not as tasty as expected. When you see the dishes you are like OMG this is going to be good, mouth watering good but it was bland.. so kind of threw us off. Drinks were great. They have a delicious hibiscus tea I enjoyed.

Great place to have breakfast and bring your doggies too! They have indoor and outdoor sitting. We all liked what we ordered and service was good: farmer's scramble Benny with crab Beachside burrito! Would definitely come back! Really loved that you can take a walk on the beach after breakfast, brunch or lunch!

Popped in to OB Surf Lodge for just one on a Saturday afternoon. We walked into a completely empty bar. Everybody else was dining on the patio enjoying the beautiful San Diego day and the spectacular view. Our bartender was a cool cat. We didn't catch his name , but he was singing and dancing along with the music. He looked to be really enjoying his job that day. Mixing drinks with a certain panache. It was awesome. One mimosa and a beer and we were off to meet friends elsewhere.

We had the most delicious brunch here! Nice outside area, dog friendly, and overlooking the pier in OB GREAT service as well. Although they no longer have mimosa flights, there are many choices for the juice and I had a yummy guava mimosa. I ordered the baked pesto eggs and it was so good and so unique My husband had a fantastic farmers veggie scramble. Nice atmosphere and great food and drinks and service!!

Over all it was pretty busy on Saturday Morning the view is pretty amazing! When it comes to the menu there are some great Brunch ideas! We picked two of the restaurants top choices and I have to say they were both amazing!

This place has pretty unique dishes and it's really good. We got the chilaquiles with carnitas and the pesto egg with Machaca. The carnitas were lacking in flavor but the machaca was amazing. It's not to traditional but the flavors were good. The staff is so friendly and the location is so nice. It's right across from the beach. We came during the week at a not so busy time. I can imagine how crowded this place can get. I would definitely recommend coming here to try it out, catch some views and watch the surfers. Also it is pet friendly which is such a plus.

Jan 19th: A nice restaurant on the beach...what more could you want! Walked in and everyone greeted me with a smile, and offered me a seat anywhere. I went for a seat on the patio so I could check my surroundings while I enjoyed a beer and food. I was not disappointed...the sun was partially out, and it was far from cold. I ordered the short rib flatbread which was ok. I think it was in some kind of bbq sauce, so it was just ok. The beer was cold, and I met a cool couple who made the experience even better.

Great food, great service, amazing location and vibe. We sat at the bar but it looked like the same great service was at the tables too. I will definitely be back.

Great OB brunch spot with indoor/outdoor seating and a view of the beach! We waited about 30 minutes for a table but there were 6 of us and it was a holiday. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, but the food took a little while to come out because it was busy. I ordered the Dave's Breakfast which was filling and delicious. The scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes were cooked perfectly. For my side, I ordered a biscuit and it was HUGE. My friend ordered the smoked salmon avocado toast and loved it. The ingredients were fresh and it was a perfect lighter breakfast. I would definitely come back to try other menu items. Highly recommend for some yummy brunch.

Absolutely my favorite place to have brunch in San Diego. Great service food sections and drinks. Ocean views are mesmerizing while have a delicious bite. The pictures says it all.

First time at the OB Surf Lodge and omg...the food and drinks were amazing but what topped all of it was the customer service!! I came here after a recommendation from an SD local and it did not disappoint. Our server, Mariah, asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and I said yes. Not only did she make sure we had a great time, she made me feel important due to my accomplishment. Thank you Mariah for making my day very special!! *insert heart emoji*

Got here on a Saturday morning just after 9:30am. It wasn't crazy busy or anything outside was filled. We had to go up to the hostesss stand to be seated. We got seated near the bar and given menus. It took them 10 minutes to even noticed us and even take drink orders. Drinks took 20 minutes and food took 40 minutes to come out. Two people got the bacon and crab Benedict, hubby got the chicken fried steak with jalapeño biscuits and country potato and I got the OB Hot Chicken Biscuit with garlic fries. Watching all the food come out of the kitchen we were excited, Everything looks phenomenal. You definitely get a lot of food, so you definitely get your bang for your buck here. I was just disappointed because by the time our food got to us, everything was cold. Our daughter's eggs Benedict was not a Benedict anymore it was overcooked and hubby's ordered an over easy egg, but got a medium to well done egg instead & his chicken fried steak was a little inedible and very chewy. After we finish eating, we still had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes before someone brought the check back. Hubby literally watched the server that was serving us runaround and take more orders instead of bringing the check back, his whole party had already left. The ambiance here is an open concept very chill with a wraparound patio, which they allow dogs on. I'm just disappointed how long everything took considering that it wasn't super packed until the time we left then I got really packed. Hubby had gone and spoke with the manager, he was more impressed with the attitude and vibe of the place afterwards. She was very understanding on what happened and was very apologetic for the service. We had our food & drink issues but she didn't hesitated to fix the bill for us and invite us back for a better experience next time (considering we're were staying right next door to them) , we will come back and try it again tomorrow.

I always love a good brunch at OB Surf Lodge! It is the perfect chill restaurant right on the water , so a perfect view! I got Dave's Breakfast which is a little combo of eggs cooked your way, bacon or sausage, choice of bread, and breakfast potatoes. So simple and yummy! Would definitely get it again. Such lovely and kind service!

OB surf lodge has amazing Mexicans in that kitchen! I was able to verify this when my Bfast burritos with their amazing green and red salsa came out. Homemade, great kick and fresh ingredients. The Breakfast mini burritos are cut in half. Your choice of protein, we went with bacon. Not overly stuffed, it had great super crispy hash brown and served with a side of delicious refried beans. We sat outside and had beautiful views of the beach.

DELICIOUS! An OB favorite! I ordered the jalapeño biscuit sandwich.. and I'd order it again every time! I also ordered an iced coconut lattes - it was yummy, but way too small and full of ice considering the price. I'd pass next time. Knocked off a star because of service. Our server barely came by.. we had to hail her down to have our order placed and to follow up. By the time the food arrived, we asked for our checks and to go boxes because we had to dash off to the next event. Our waitress was kind, so I have to imagine this was more a logistics issue. More staffing especially during peak would've alleviated her responsibility!

Absolutely AMAZING service and menu! The host was so nice and had the best customer service and attitude and our server, Moana was such a wonderful person! Food was 10/10 as well! I'll definitely be back :))

Ob surf lodge is a place that's been on my bucket list for breakfast. I took my dad here ( he is in a wheelchair) and his friends from out of town for brunch. We loved it so much we went twice in one weekend. Good food, scenic views of the ocean, wheelchair friendly, dog friendly, kid friendly. Best part are the portion sizes and variety of entrees. Bad are the flies during the summer. So beware. Recommend: Cold brew flight!! So good and different. Expect to be caffeinated! Wake and break special- m-f only Homemade biscuits ( big and delish) Açaí parfait - refreshing during sd hot days Half portion Brie French toast - good and sweet half is the best portion

The food was really fresh and super tasty. I love their menu and the variety of options. Served was lovely, got us quick service and was super nice. We sat on the outdoor patio with a view of the ocean.

The menu here is awesome! Food, drinks, everything I had here was SO good! Initially I thought it was a little pricey, but it's such a beautiful location so it makes sense that we're paying for the view as well as the food. Two of the three times I've been there it's been pretty busy so things didn't come out super quick but the servers, hosts and everyone were very kind and friendly! Big fan of this place and will definitely be back!

Surf Lodge is always pretty good. You can't beat the location or the view and everyone who works there is always nice. I didn't get it this time but the Brie French toast is amazing. Solid brunch every time and all of the fried chicken items are crumbly and crunchy.

We came here after realizing Wonderland was to noisy and crowded. Service was excellent, our server was constantly there checking on us and getting everything we needed...she was amazing. Food was overpriced for the amount given, the hummus plate barely came with anything of substance on it and the goat cheese only had 4 pieces. The taste of the goat cheese and warm honey though was absolutely amazing. Great outside for people watching as you're directly over the sidewalk.

My boyfriend and I came here around noon for brunch and got seated fairly quickly despite the OB street and chili competition going on. Our waitress was super friendly and warm. We sat outside and enjoyed the nice day that OB had to offer! I didn't really like my Harvest Frittata because it wasn't flavorful but my boyfriend loved the Carnitas Benny so we'd recommend that. I also liked their alcoholic drinks and would get the mimosas over the rose next time!

Came in with a party of four and I must say, the view is stupendous from the outdoor seating. Our waiter was extremely freaky but charming and made us feel right at home. I got the smashburger and it was absolutely delicious. There were also many other menu items that looked delectable such as the mac and cheese. We ultimately had a great time and watched the sun set, great experience. I certainly exploded!!

The location is awesome and the food was great, with a wonderful selection for brunch! Having not been home to SD in years the chilaquiles and breakfast burrito were a perfect breakfast for our first day back.

Absolute joke of a menu. Here's a picture of the Monte Cristo sandwich which has almost zero meat. Truly the worst Monte Cristo I've ever had in every respect. The place is extremely noisy. Service was slow and the seater was more interested in pleasing the servers than the guests. The Brie stuffed French toast had almost no brie at all. It's like finding a needle in a haystack. Other reviews tend to indicate that the food is lackluster and honestly that's the best case scenario. They're obviously trying to make money off shorting customers on quality food. Definitely avoid this place.. It's a tourist trap and the locals think it's a joke.

Visited OB Surf Lodge. It's self seating when you walk in. Pretty chill vibes. Great place for brunch with a nice view if you sit outside. Would definitely come back again. Food was good as well.

We came here for drinks before and we didn't know they have brunch menu. It was very impressive, their brunch is very nice. I ordered an egg Benedict and my husband had a biscuit breakfast sandwich. Both are really nice. We both enjoyed. It was a little bit slow at a Saturday morning since they are pretty busy. But it's also nice to face the ocean, so just take time to enjoy.

A great place for our 4 legged dog friends! We were invited to come out at lunch to have great eats and enjoy the ocean views. Which San Diego beaches deliver! With 2 dogs on their deck, we got to have a great dining experience. Started w/ a biscuit board to share, then friends got a burrito to share and I got a Power Bowl with seared Ahi Tuna! The seasoned corn salsa - mind blowing! Also, amazing greens salad with avocado was crazy good and the quinoa was crazy good. That IS a POWER BOWL! Love this place!

It is open seating and finding a spot outside can be a little bit of a wait but it's worth it if you find a spot. Incredible view of the ocean as well as the main strip in OB which is so fun for people watching. We ordered a few items, the Jalapeño Poppers, fish tacos and Birria tacos. The poppers were tasty, very basic, the fish tacos were super yummy and the Birria was delicious! Great spot to relax and get a good meal by the water.

What a great spot to hang out, eat, and drink. We got several items for our table. I got the pesto baked eggs must try!! I also got the mocha coffee and the a Mai Thai. I also shared the hot chicken biscuit with my wife. So amazing. My wife got the chilaquiles with chicken. My buddy got the farmers scramble and he loved it. You can't not beat the happy hour prices they have posted, along with the beach view. Definitely coming here to try more items.

Always a must whenever I'm in town. Chicken fried steak with a mushroom gravy and the mimosa flight are perfection! Service was the best we have ever had and can't ask for a better view.

We always go here after we take our dog to dog beach. The food and service is great! Server recommend an IPA and it was a really good beer. Awesome view of the ocean as well!
