All of the New Restaurants in the Hamptons This Summer

"Proper Hospitality has taken over management of the Montauk Yacht Club and will open this 200-seat restaurant that sprawls over three rooms at the end of June. Chef Jarad McCarroll (Le Toiny in St. Barths, and London’s Chiltern Firehouse and the Ritz) runs the place. There are two chef counters (one by the raw bar and another overlooking the wood-fired grill) as well as a chef’s table. Among offerings: fluke tartare and wood-fired beef with smoked beet ketchup." - Beth Landman

10 New Summer Restaurant Openings In The Hamptons 2024

"Ocean Club is a transplant coming to the Montauk Yacht Club from St. Barths. We don’t know a ton about what this restaurant will be about, but its location right on the waterfront and a standalone raw bar means we’re keeping an eye on it. The menu will likely also feature seafood and local produce, as well as smoky dishes from the wood-fired grill. " - anne cruz

We had a wonderful dinner — the food was absolutely delicious, and the service from Chateau was fantastic. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making the entire experience memorable. Looking forward to coming back again soon!

In May, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch here. The restaurant was pleasantly quiet, and we opted for outdoor seating in a lovely setting. Our meal included a refreshing shrimp cocktail, a flavorful burger, pasta with butter and cheese for my son, and a Caesar salad. Every dish tasted fresh, and the service was outstanding, making for a delightful dining experience.

Went to OC for both breakfast and dinner and each time the service and food was excellent. Cocktails were also great. We were celebrating and they took note and brought over some free drinks. For dinner service the chef was walking around and very involved which was nice to see. View and atmosphere is also incredible, right on water/by the marina and the dining room is modern and airy.

Terrible experience for a hefty price tag. First, the food took over an hour to come Out . The food was not good. Completely forgetful food. We ordered burrata- this was just regular (not amazing ) mozzarella cheese, and not creamy delicious burrata. Tuna tartare - nothing special . Caesar salad - just average , nothing special … Oysters - not bad OC bread - prob the best thing we had , very sad Angry lobster with pasta - tasteless Mushroom and cauliflower chicken - 2 thin slices of cauliflower( literally, that’s all!!) tons of average mushroom, and barely average chicken .. Grilled corn - tasted like canned corn with some seasoning Baked cheesecake- it was average cheesecake, what you would expect from Costco . Nothing baked about it, or fresh … Also , we received the apps after one hour , and had to wait another 10 mins for plates to eat the apps .. while waiting the hour , we were only asked if we wanted drink refills once !! At 9:00pm, while eating our awful entrees , they came to us and said the kitchen is closing and asked if we wanted to have dessert ?!?! After this terrible experience, you are going to hand me a dessert menu while in the middle of eating because the kitchen is closing ?! Insane ! It’s only 9:00 pm , why would the kitchen be closing , and what does that have to do with dessert , and the dessert sucked .. And to make matters worse, the dessert arrived before they cleared the dirty dinner plates.. and the took an additional 10 mins for clean utensils to arrive while our cheesecake and ice cream melted .. This experience cost almost $600 !!!!!! They were clearly understaffed, so that explains the service , but the food sucked , so the overall experience was horrendous! Dont waste your money . The restaurant is pretty, nice atmosphere, and the location can’t be better, but the service and the food is inexcusable! Our waitress Chateau was very pleasant and sweet and talked us through this awful experience, but overall i would recommend spending your money elsewhere..

This is one of the best places in Montauk for high end food. Great atmosphere. Open kitchen. The cured shrimp were amazing as was the lobster pasta. All ingredients are ala carte which allows for allergies and sensitivities. Wine list is a little pricey but they have a good selection of wines by the glass that goes beyond pouring just cheap stuff. You can get high quality wine even if you just want a glass, which is nice. Staff was awesome. Very highly recommended. If you're concerned about quantity over quality, this isn't your place.

Had dinner and Mother’s Day brunch. Both fantastic! The brunch we had lobster omelette, lobster and salmon ravioli , avocado toast, and steak and eggs. The ravioli was one of the best things we have ever had!!!Dinner had a slow cooked steak and halibut main course, but the homemade bread was the star, before fantastic dessert.Tiramasu and a hazelnut chocolate cake!!!Cant wait to come back!!!!Chef Jarad was super friendly and really talented!

We had the scallops, burratta and tuna tartare and drinks. Drink were good and interesting. Burratta was excellent quality with a nice addition of peaches and sour dough wheat bread. The scallopa were well cooked and seasoned with a nice succotash with a cream based sauce. The tuna tartare was of good quality but over powered by the strong jalapeno based sauce and no avocado was found which would have tempered the spice. The real downside, which almost made us leave after ordering, was the positively ear assaulting music volume which was almost nauseating secondary to its volume. So if you want to have pretty good food in a Rave environment I guess this is the place.

Yelp
Went here again for a conference recently, great food and very accommodating staff. The place looks great and has really been overhauled and kept up. Awesome little fitness room, two pools and a small sauna. My only gripe was the Wi-Fi didn't work the whole 2 days or so I was there. Otherwise it was excellent! A really nice hotel out in Montauk, recommended.

Yelp
Came for drinks and $1 oysters. Good beers. I have no idea if the food is good. The oysters have green apple and citrus. Very yummy. I am told it's a big scene on the weekends. Showfish. We anchored our boat and came by dinghy. We met up with a guy at the bar who paddles boarded over. He claims to have paddle boarded from Montauk lighthouse to block island. (He insisted I add that). What's not the like!

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel. We loved the private beach and restaurants served some tasty food! We never left the hotel to eat! ONLY thing we didn't care for is the dining gap from 3:00pm-5:30pm where you aren't able to order food from their restaurants (drinks only). It was a bummer because check in was at 3pm and we were hungry after the 2.5 hr drive and had to wait it out for the kitchens to open back up on the premises. Other than that, we were happy campers! If you have a baby stroller beware that there are steps and no ramps. The hotel room we got overlooking the ocean was super clean (bathroom especially was spotless) and we can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Very nice quiet resort to spend a few days in solitude. Good food, great bar. Prices are high but it's the Hamiltons after all. Nice pool. Great marina.

Yelp
Loved it there, super chill. I had a beautiful, balcony with a view of my private beach and water The electric boat ride was great and free. The people that work there are so nice.

Yelp
We scored a great last minute deal and it was my first time there. WOW!! I was blown away. The resort was amazing, restaurant and bars were amazing. The private beach was excellent and the view from the room, with a balcony, was stellar!!! This Carl Fisher building is a great piece of Montauk history. Hoping to score another great deal because we can't wait to return!

Yelp
We just stayed at the Montauk Yacht Club - and I am not sure what to make of it. It looks beautiful, especially compared to other places I have stayed in Montauk, but it seriously lacks service. It is more of a hotel than a resort, but at top dollar resort prices. For example two egg sandwiches we got to go in the morning cost $54. There are not many options for food, I was pretty hungry and didn't want to drive anywhere since I was on "vacation" and there was no room service. Walking by all the glamorous young people at night while I was dressed to relax was kind of a downer. And no one answers the phone, even at the front desk, so you are on your own. I saw a lot of families with young children and then also a trendy party crowd which is a really weird mix. Nice view though and my dog liked it.

Yelp
Great time away. Dog friendly. Kid friendly - with lots of activities - paddleboarding, kayak, tennis, pickleball. Tubing can be hired right from the hotel dock. Fun for adults too - pool was a scene on the weekend - and loved the idea of "sip and stretch" as an activity! Rooms lovely (we stayed second floor garden view). Food was great. Would go back.

Yelp
We just hosted our daughter's wedding at MYC last weekend and I would give it 10 stars if I could! The new owners have dramatically improved the physical rooms, hallways, common areas and staff is super friendly and attentive (even before they knew we were part of the wedding party). From the moment we arrived we never opened a door, carried a bag and were constantly being asked if we needed help or assistance. Hotel: Staff was amazing and lots of people around for assistance of any kind. Rooms & Hallways : completely renovated, clean, chic, gorgeous. Food/bar: Delicious. Great variety of healthy, late night pizzas, delicious drinks, etc. Outside Space: Lots of great places to hang (either quiet or not) - poolside, on the beach, small sitting areas with beautiful fire pits, etc etc. Activities - there is something for everyone - singles and families - from tennis and paddle boarding to bike riding, a playground, beach, etc. For the wedding - I was beyond impressed with the number of staff assigned to help us make sure the day was perfect and smooth. From the super attentive bridal suite attendant (shout out to Marie!), to the bathroom attendant (who knew?) and after party helper - we never once had to look far for help or to ask a question. Our wedding was outside in a tent and the staff served the dinner in a timely manner, the bartenders were fabulous and it was the most perfect event in every way. I would highly recommend this gorgeous resort and cannot wait to go back!

Yelp
Very unhappy with our three night stay this week. Expected a great experience, but many problems! Bad restaurant, horrible staff, careless teams managing new owned facility. Avoid staying here! We arranged for a second family to join us this week, we rented two rooms with water view and experienced so many problems we will never return. Our family of four (two kids) met with a second family of five (three kids) expecting to enjoy several pools on site, confirmed amenities and beach activities. - No working WiFi the first day, their team had not idea what the problem was, the second day the WiFi was only working in our rooms only, but not on the grounds, so I was not able to work on my computer, only in the bathroom for our three day stay! - keys to our rooms did not work the entire first day. After hours of arguments with their team trying 8-12 sets of keys and the doors not working, just got angry and told them to figure it out, then find us to give us the keys for entry. - pictures at the website show kayaking at the beach, but there were no working kayaks, they all had holes and not able to float!!! Our kids were very upset with this problem and complained the whole time. The team did not care, just told us new ones are on backorder! - We were eating breakfast with kids and man cutting grass with weed-wacker did not care to avoid us, sprayed us with cut grass ruining our breakfast and hurt one of my daughters with a rock from the weed wacker! I yelled at the guy and he just walked off, did not say a word!!! - Restaurant food is very poor quality. It was high priced, so we expected it to be good, but learned our lesson the first day... For lunch and dinner we had to return multiple dishes with order mistakes and just tasting bad. We decided to drive to town for breakfast pickup from the Montauk great bakeries and had great dinners at the local restaurants. Do not be a sucker! Avoid the restaurant! - We understand the facility is now being run by a new owner, but there is too much construction going on to enjoy the facility. Lots of saws, power tools and even a chain saw cutting down old dock posts. Horrible noise, not able to enjoy our long awaited family vacation! The working team at this facility is careless, could not be bothered to help us, did not care if we were upset about our problems and did not offer a refund for any of the problems we encountered! Never going to return!!! You are warned, it may look nice, but it's a nightmare!!!

Yelp
Horrible service all around. the staff was unhelpful and rude. The worst part was that there was a DJ blasting awful music until 2am as though it was a nightclub and not a hotel. when asked if they could turn the music down so kids/anyone could sleep they said there was nothing they could do and refused to ask the DJ. I've never been somewhere with service this bad.
