18 Perfect Phoenix Restaurant Patios for Dining Alfresco

"The indoor-outdoor design of Ocotillo provides the best of both worlds with a stunning desert landscape and modern architecture. The expansive patio features the chef’s garden, a mesquite terrace, and a beer garden, so there are plenty of cozy spaces to enjoy the outdoors. Stop by for brunch to taste the brie-stuffed French toast with caramel apples, balsamic strawberries, and maple syrup. For dinner, there are pastas and a buttermilk pork chop with fermented mustard." - Mcconnell Quinn, Nikki Buchanan, jamiekillin, Rudri Patel

The 23 Best Restaurants In Phoenix 2024

"With more than 300 days of sun a year, it’s always patio season in Phoenix. Camp out under an umbrella of flowering trees at Ocotillo and order the smoked beets with local pecans flecked in Arizona honey, the citrusy mesquite-grilled chicken, or the wood-fired beef ribs that come slathered in a mole espresso BBQ sauce. I was taken here by great friends who live in Phoenix who told me it was one of their favorite places in town. They specialize in lots of locally sourced veggies, southwestern influenced preparation and sharing plates. We ordered a lot from the veggie sharing options, and stand outs were the cauliflower, the beets and the brussel sprouts. Service is excellent and the outdoor space is so comfortable and relaxing. Strongly recommend a visit if you want to experience a local favorite.

We hadn’t been to Ocotillo in Midtown for a while, mostly because we were underwhelmed by the small portion sizes in the past—but we’re so glad we gave it another shot! The menu seems to have shifted a bit, offering a great balance of generous large plates (perfect for sharing) and well-portioned small plates for those of us who didn’t want leftovers. We ordered the charred sweet potato, grilled octopus, mesquite-grilled Ocotillo chicken, and the orecchiette—everything was beautifully prepared and flavorful. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive, which made the evening even better. It was the perfect spot to take friends visiting from Canada for a fun, delicious night out. We’ll definitely be back!

Best food - what makes me most happy about the food is the make the dish as if they are making for themselves all the attention is there. The service is the best love the servers there… great for family gathering or a nice brunch or date night. It’s casual but also not. Perfect ambiance whether you like outdoor desert vibes or indoor modern chic vibes. Pricing is very good for what you get.

Google
This isn't your typical burger place. The food here was fantastic!!! We thought that since we've never been here we'd try somewhere new for our 31st wedding anniversary. We ordered eggplant meatballs, porkbelly and fried cauliflower. The food that not only sounded delicious but tasted exquisite!!! The dessert was rum cake with strawberries and tres leches ice cream...oh my goodness out of this world...but like I always say "you don't have to take my word for it. Try it out for yourself."

I was in from out of town and celebrated my birthday there that evening. Everyone and everything was wonderful and delish 😋 😍. p.s. the spaghetti squash flautas were a culinary delight.

Perla Dueñas

Google
The food was excellent, but the overall experience was disappointing due to the way we were treated compared to other patrons. I had requested an outdoor table for my birthday celebration with my daughter, and at first, we were given a wobbly table with a candle that wasn’t lit, making it difficult to read the menu in the already dim lighting. When another table opened in the same section, I requested to move, which they accommodated. However, when our food arrived, I had to go find a steak knife myself after waiting with no staff in sight. At dessert, our table wasn’t cleared like others around us, and despite noting my birthday on the reservation, we received no acknowledgment—while the table next to us was given a birthday candle. To ensure I wasn’t imagining things, I asked my daughter, who also noticed the disparity in service. If you’re a minority, I would not recommend this place, as our experience left us feeling unwelcome and disregarded.

Google
Ocotillo offers a delightful ambiance and decor, creating a perfect setting for a special occasion. The service was attentive and the drinks were excellent, especially the fresa picante. A highlight of the evening was the thoughtful touch of bringing out a lovely dessert for my mom’s birthday, I just wish they would have relit the candle when it blew out on the way to the table. On the downside, the food itself was underwhelming. We tried the pork belly and brisket dishes, and while they weren’t bad, they didn’t quite live up to the rest of the experience. They also didn’t have the medjool dates available as a small dish, which we were very excited to try.

Google
Great restaurant with great food at a great location. This restaurant is big and in a great location. There is a ton of seating, it is conveniently located and it is very clean and nice. When I got here, the staff were very helpful and friendly and helped me find a seat right away. On their menu, they have a good selection of food at a good price. I ordered the ocotillo breakfast and it had a good amount of food. The hash brown was crispy and flavorful, the eggs were seasoned well and the avocado toast was very flavorful. I would recommend this place for a good breakfast.

Yelp
Had been here once b4 and did not enjoy my visit. Service was good but the pasta dish was so disappointing. I sat at the bar and the bartender did remove it from the bill. I was just there last night, Friday the 3rd. oh WOW!!! what a great experience. Reservation was made for 7:00 on the "north" balcony/patio. I was there with a buddy to celebrate a birthday. Great cool weather and heaters along with Nono e else sitting outside made it awesome. We had an amazing server who was so perfect. We were in no hurry and she sensed that and showed up throughout the dinner at just the right times (not push). She knew the menu and made some recommendation. Ordered the sun dried strawberrie on ricotta cheese and the pork ribs and corn ribs appetizers. Dinner order was the chicken dinner with augratin potatoes and the other was the pork shank dinner. Nailed it! Nailed it Nailed it. Then Megan had them bring out a little brownie dessert with a birthday candle.....cute touch. I am so happy I had a feeling for going back. I shall return and definitely talk this place up. thank you Megan and Ocotiilo peeps.

Yelp
Nice spot with a gorgeous patio if you want to sit outside - and inside is beautiful as well. Servers were great and on top of each table, making sure we were all cared for. Most of us got pastas and loved it. I got the Shrimp Ravioli, so good. Highly recommend it!

Yelp
I had dinner with friends on New Year's Eve and it was a mixed experience. The feedback I really want to give and feel strongly about concerns the food. I ordered the chicken wings and it was a disaster. Four large chicken wings are served on an 8-inch plate. They are stacked and hard to get to with the knife and fork. The wings are served with a cheap butter knife which cannot cut a wing. It was a horror show and I was embarrassed at try to get the meat from the wings. This is a nice restaurant and not one where you want to eat the wings with your hands. So I ended up eating about 2 ounces of chicken. Please, consider the way you serve these and whether or not diners deserve a decent knife. This restaurant is one that does not have salt and pepper on the table. You have to ask and that means you have to wait until someone passes by. On a busy night, this takes awhile. Not conducive to a pleasant. meal. I ordered a Manhattan and it didn't come. The server came and said she forgot and would get it immediately. It didn't come. I did finally get one and the server explained what happened and I can accept this. It wasn't great but I understand what happened. All in all, I think this could have been a great evening but it wasn't. I'm not sure if I would recommend this place or if I would come back. It seems like providing a decent knife with wings would be something a restaurant would know.

Yelp
Ocotillo has been on my list for awhile, so was so stoked for the opportunity to give them a visit recently! We were able to walk right in on a Monday evening and our group of three was promptly seated. I had made a reservation on the way there, just in case, but did not seem needed. The outside space is beautiful and boasts lighting all over the property. Though it was a tad chilly so we opted for the indoor dining room. We were greeted twice by two seperate servers that they would be our server and asking for our drink order, so bit of a disconnect at the beginning, but many places have a team approach, though we had only one moving forward. We went the family style route and ordered the tuna, OG cauliflower and beet small plates, followed by the shrimp ravioli, daily fish and chitarra. Before ordering we asked the server her opinion to help us narrow down the list as well as confirming menu items that did not have meat. She was not super decisive nor guided us regarding the menu and did say anything regarding our final order. The first course of small plates was lovely and everything tasted fresh and had great flavors. We had ordered bread, which was forgotten, but after ordering pasta we were fine doing without and didn't mention it. Two of the main dishes came out, both pastas, but the main fish dish did not for about another 10-15 minutes. It turned out one of the pasta dish we had included a pork fat based sauce/butter, which after inquiring on meat, would have been nice had it been mentioned. Thus the pasta was not able to be enjoyed by the full table. All the items were flavorful and fresh, but the overall service and disconnet on meal timing left a less than stellar experience overall. We also did make note in our reservation that we would be celebrating a birthday, which seemed to not be communicated and the server asked at the end of the meal if we wanted dessert or were celebrating anything, which we communicated we were celebrating a birthday. She then did bring out a complimentary dessert. At this time they only offered a single item, which was their brown butter cake with dulce de leche and strawberries, but with no candle as they were out. It was unique, not standout, but tasty! Overall, we did enjoy our food and space, but the service left something to be desired.

Yelp
Super cool vibes at this restaurant. Lighting was perfect in both indoor and outdoor dining space. Lots of patio seating and heating sources, which were great on a mid-November evening. We enjoyed the menu with family-style plates, which was a great way to sample a lot of different dishes. Standouts for me were the sundried strawberries with ricotta and crostini (appetizer), super fresh ahi tuna (appetizer), and salmon with a bit of a kick (entree). Would definitely recommend these plates. Worth noting that the ribeye was overly fatty and the lemon bars were super sweet. All the waitstaff were very attentive and friendly. No one had an empty glass and the food kept coming. Overall, great dining experience for a large group. Would recommend to anyone looking for a hip spot for a gathering with friends/family or even a hot date!

Yelp
We enjoyed our patio dining here for bunch during the winter -- cozy weather with the heater & warm coffee. It's definitely one of a nicest outdoors places for dining in Phoenix. Services were also in prompt and friendly staff. Food was good -- the pancake was a different style but good. The ribs were very tasty. It was a brief visit but definitely a good place to dine and to recommend.

Yelp
My family decided to have brunch here. The atmosphere is beautiful with welcoming staff. We were seated right away which was surprising especially with a group of 7 because I was expecting it was going to be busy but maybe we just beat the rush. We ordered a variety of dishes that sounded appetizing from the menu description and a few pictures on Yelp that looked inviting. One of my sisters enjoyed the Eggplant and meatballs. My other sister and dad both ordered the Breakfast Chimichanga which satisfied their palate. It was crunchy and filling. My mom and my husband both ordered the Smoked Brisket on Parmesan Polenta. My mom said it was slightly salty and as for my husband he felt like it wasn't enough due to the small portion of the dish. I ordered the Pork Belly Hash. I liked it but I wish there was a bit more pork belly. Overall the food was decent. The service was good up until it was time to pay. We sat there for sometime before the waitress finally provided the check. Overall it was a decent brunch.

Yelp
Came in for some early dinner, sat at the high table in the bar area. I have to say the bone marrow is so good. The pappardelle pork shank was so good, the pork was cooked perfect, and was a pretty large portion.

Yelp
As promised, I'd be back for dinner. Ordered eggplant meatballs and roasted beets for appetizers, they were delicious. Dinner, bone marrow with sauce on the side due to my allergies to agave. If you're not a big eater, highly recommend ordering from the small plates section of the menu. My husband had a tagliatelle pasta, it was al dente! the ragu was cooked to perfection. Drinks were all great, service was well received. Definitely "be careful, it's yummy" certified! Great setting for all occasions.

Yelp
We recently had the pleasure of enjoying Ocotillos menu at Sidecar Social Club (the little bar to the right before the restaurant. Everything about my visit was splendid!! We wanted the delicious food from Ocotillo but also a fine cocktail. And Sidecar Social Club fit the bill. The ambiance and service were great. It was a cool evening for it being September in the desert. And I delighted in being outside, next to the dozens of string lit trees and vast open space. It was good for the souls after being indoors most of summer. The drinks at Sidecar were original and fantastic!! We had the Apollo and Starlet. I loved the Starlet!!! We definitely ordered too much food. And don't regret it. I want to order everything on the Ocotillo menu. The chef knows what he is doing. And I imagine the kitchen is well run. The gem salad was truly a gem. I have day dreamed of it a few times since. I could have been satisfied with that alone. (And Starlet, of course) The wings were sticky deliciousness. I only wish they were served with wet towels/wipes. We also enjoyed the market fish (halibut ) and pasta with ragu. Oh my. They were both perfect. It was one of those nights I wished I could eat more. I will definitely return!

Yelp
Service was excellent. No lingering here with the staff they were working hard making sure everything was perfect The big negative was the table placement. This is not a fast food type restaurant so I really don't want to be part of the conversations of the diners on either side of me. Started with the Balsamic strawberries herbed ricotta. The strawberries were AMAZING. I could have eaten just a those in a bowl. More ricotta would have been nice. We had the buttermilk pork chop and the pappardelle with beef Ragu sauce Both were excellent. The ragu was sublime. There was a little heat in the sauce which was so good. My chief complaint with this dish was the really small bowl it was served in. Made it really hard to maneuver the food. The bread was perched in a precarious manner on the edge of the bowl The pork chop was tender. Delightful combination with the apple. Once more the size of the bowl/plate and maneuvering the chop to cut was an issue. The meal was so good and the anticipation of the dessert menu was pretty high. When I saw the menu I thudded to earth pretty quickly. There was the ubiquitous flourless chocolate cake or lemon blueberry cake. I am sure both would have been nice, but after such a great meal the dessert selection was sad

Yelp
My friend and I came here for happy hour and we really enjoyed ourselves. We sat inside at the bar, and received outstanding service from two bartenders. The place is very spacious, with lots of indoor/outdoors options. Our food was delicious! We shared a couple of different things on the happy hour menu that were all very tasty and well priced.

Yelp
Quiet Nights 8:45 PM on a Friday. Maybe it's the closing time 10 PM. Or perhaps the walls hold tales of clandestine rendezvous. Shhh... The parking lot may be small, but it's like a hidden gem--a cozy nook where cars snuggle up like old friends. Service: Ah, Zach--the enigmatic server/bartender. His pace? Slower than a sloth on a Sunday morning. His friendliness? About as warm as a frozen pizza. Zach, is like the 1995 DMV worker, navigating the labyrinth of drink orders. But fear not!Because the Bartender Assistant the Politeness Personified the James Bond of bartenders--shaken, not stirred. he was nice and helpful. Curious about prime ribs? Ask away! Our bartender assistant tells us the secrets of the fridge. And guess what? Cold dry prime rib. And He's all ears for our genius idea: email notifications when prime ribs grace the menu. Menu: Decent, but not a symphony of choices. It's like a minimalist art exhibit--bold strokes, but you crave more canvases. I got the Eggplant Balls and Polenta: The polenta? A symphony of yumminess--like a jazz band jamming in your mouth. The balls? Good, perhaps a tad extra crunchy. Minty Lemonade: A Refreshing Disappointment Hold your horses! The $5 minty lemonade arrives. But where's the fanfare? No lemon slide, no mint leaf. Café Rio and Habit Burger lemonade laugh in the face of this version.

Yelp
After several more visits, Ocotillo has become one of our favorite spots and well worth a 5 star rating. It's a lovely place to spend a weekend morning enjoying tasty food in the gorgeous courtyard. This is truly a gem and I envy those that live in the neighborhood! Our favorites are the charred sweet potato, eggplant meatballs, and burrata salad with wine poached pear. I'm not even a big sweet potato fan, but it's really delicious and super creamy. The poached pear and burrata salad also has this delicious whipped goat cheese. The eggplant meatballs are so good and filling. They have a nice cocktail menu as well. On this last visit we opted for the Garden's Apple and Hibiscus Haze mocktails, which were crafted with as much care as the alcoholic drinks. I preferred the slightly sweeter Garden's Apple over the other, but both were good!

Yelp
My family and I had such a great brunch at Ocotillo. The service was the real star here! Our server was so friendly and funny and we weren't rushed at all. The space is really big - we sat in the dining area behind the host stand and it was super bright and sunny with comfy seating. The food was good! Not great but still tasty. My favorite thing we got was actually the endive salad. It was fantastic! We also got the breakfast chimichanga (good), smoked brisket (really good), a side of bacon (floppy), and brussels sprouts (meh). I've also had their fries before and they are to die for. My aunt got the eggplant meatballs to go and said they were so amazing as well. The menu is diverse with a mix of healthy and indulgent options - there is something for everyone. I do think the prices are a bit high for what you get, but I'd gladly pay for the salad and fries again any day.

Yelp
Smoked brisket on Parmesan polenta Smoked brisket, on a bed of Parmesan polenta, topped with a fried egg, crispy onion, and brisket jus FORK tender brisket! The polenta is perfectly cooked, cheesy, all seasoning on point, the jus had the exact right level of beefiness We had a lot of other drinks I didn't review because I didn't think I'd be doing a review 10/10 would recommend, would return No pic because we fat kidded out before I could get one
google avatar

Yelp
If I were you I'd skip it. It's a Saturday night you make a reservation. They call you to tell you you won't be served at the reservation time because they are closing early. You decide to arrive early. They ignore the reservation notes. You go to the bar and sit for 10 minutes ignored by he bartenders who don't want to serve you because they are closing early. There are 5 people in the whole place. Looking over the food menu.... It's all over the place. No consistent theme or scheme. The music was at a full lul. Probably the most uninviting space I've walked into in a while.

Yelp
After reading reviews of places to eat I am so glad I made it out to Ocotillo. Not being from the area the space is really unassuming as you drive up but as you walk through the entryway I loved the outdoor seating and bar area. It wasn't open the night I came but I can see it being a really awesome space to enjoy on a nice day. Walking through the tree walkway to the actual restaurant I was also impressed with the ambiance and decor of the indoor space. They even have a covered patio area separate from the larger outdoor space. As for what to get... I must say I probably ordered way too much but there were so many options on the menu to try. I will say the portions were pretty large in my opinion so you can definitely share the larger entrees as I took a lot for leftovers. What I tried + Bucatini + Tempura + Beef Ribs + Ahi Tuna Their ribs are what they are known for and they are a must try. The mole sauce was yum! Definitely not your usual ribs so a great option to get. The ahi tuna was a nice option to get to balance out the savoriness of the ribs. Whenever I see bucatini on the menu I get it since it's not a standard option for pastas. It was pretty standard though so I would recommend trying other options next time. The tempura artichokes and sunchokes were a nice appetizer to get also but might opt to try something else next time. Overall, I really enjoyed dinner here with the space, service, and food. I can see why it's a top spot for dates or celebrations.

Yelp
Our group made reservations for brunch here and I was pretty excited given the vegetarian options on the menu. I got the eggplant "meatballs" served on a bed of polenta with a side of the hashcake. The eggplant dish was delicious and flavorful- no oily, tough, or undercooked eggplant here. The hashcake had a nice crisp to it but was relatively bland. The service was pretty quick. This was a nice spot for brunch if you're looking for out of the ordinary brunch foods.

Yelp
Back again and it was even better than the last time! The radicchio salad was superb- fantastic dressing! The ahi was delicious, and the dried strawberries in balsamic atop herbed ricotta was STELLAR

Yelp
Great service, ambience, food, and drinks. This place checks all the boxes. The chicken was surprisingly good, super tender, moist, and flavorful. The brisket platter was also amazing with great flavor, cooked to perfect temperature yet juicy, though it is a bit on the pricey side. The brisket platter also comes with a ton of sides, including 2 corn on the cob and potatoes. We had The cocktails were also great. We ordered 3 cocktails ( sorry don't remember what they were, but they were all citrusy) and the blueberry beer. All four drinks were very well balanced in terms of amount of alcohol yet not too much to overpower the drink. The blueberry beer was delicious. The server was extremely funny, friendly, and attentive, with excellent recommendations both on what is popular and what his preferences are. I would absolutely come back and this is a perfect date spot.
google avatar

Yelp
Disappointed. Walked here only to find this sign. We had called several times earlier today and it rang and then had a message saying the restaurant was open. Would highly recommend they change their voicemail so others don't drive or walk here to find the establishment is closed. Didn't get to try the food or see inside but it does look like a nice environment with good options.

Yelp
is the ambience amazing, yes I am going to jump directly to the elephant in the room We were seated outside on the patio, whoever engineered this layout was obviously drinking the Kool-Aid We were seated in front of the restroom, both of the restrooms men and women, each and every time someone entered the restroom we could see people entering the stalls, coming out of the stalls, washing their hands, and so on You might as well sat us next to the porta potties There are so many other classy restaurants. This is not one of them. Yes, you are correct. It was pretty shitty.

Yelp
If you want a fantastic meal, start to finish no notes, you should eat here. If you want a fantastic experience, you should ask for Colin as your server. Me and 7 colleagues came for dinner on Thursday evening. We were able to sit outdoors in the beautiful patio. We ordered 8 different small plates as well as entrees and desserts. My favorite was the eggplant "meatballs" and squash blossoms. Wow! I also loved my ravioli and filet mignon entree. The taste was phenomenal. I had pistachio ice cream for dessert and again, absolutely impeccable. 5 stat experience from top to bottom. Thank you Colin for all the pictures too!

Yelp
Incredible meal. The tagliatelle, bone marrow, and cauliflower were among the best we've had! Thank you for an amazing date night.

Yelp
This review is regarding the service. Attended brunch on 12/14/24 in Phoenix, AZ. Ordered the "Brisket Brunch" which was good. My sister asked "what kind of toast is available" (not knowing if there was a variety), the server Cristina replied "white". There was an awkward silence afterward, my sister asked if that was the only option? Cristina replied "this isn't Denny's".... This response was rude and inappropriate, I was appalled. I cannot fathom why she chose to respond in this manner. As to not spoil the afternoon, I refrained from responding however, rethinking the situation, I should have requested to speak with the Manager. I don't know what her issue was but serving customers is clearly NOT a good fit with that attitude. No paying customer deserves to be spoken to in that manner/attitude. There are several options for brunch, Ocotillo will not be an option the next time I'm in Phoenix.

Yelp
We're new to Phoenix, and we lucked out with this great find for brunch. The menu, service, and choice of seating were perfect for Saturday brunch. We will be back!

Yelp
Came for brunch on a Sunday at noon. Very large party so we had reservations. We were seated outside so we could enjoy the beautiful weather. Took quite awhile to get our drink orders together, but we did have a large group. When we finally got our food order in, I went with the Smoked Brisket Over Creamy Parmesan Polenta and my wife chose the Summer Squash Flautas. Food came out in decent time and dishes tasted okay. Brisket was kind of tough and my knife agreed. Service was very friendly, but sort of slow as it took awhile to catch someone to get our orders in. To their defense, we did have 16 people in our group. Maybe it was an off day, as we've had good experiences prior. Going to try again and see if next time is better.
google avatar

Yelp
The beef ribs did not disappoint! It literally falls off the bone... we're from Texas and this was one of the best ribs we had. Service was a bit slow on a Sunday but it was nice being outside enjoying the weather. Their bathrooms are also outside which is very convenient. You may bump into a very pretty white cat that roams around the property!

Yelp
We came here for dinner on 9/14 with my family and our experience was spectacular! Our server John was so attentive, knowledgeable and overall fun. We enjoyed the food & ambiance! We were impressed by the restaurant manager Austin checking in on us and not only that he checked in at every table which is so awesome to see! We will definitely be back!

Lance M.

Yelp
We were completely disappointed in our meal at Ocotillo last night. Our meal started with a carrot carouse salad that lacked flavor and dressing. And ended with two out our three meals being sent back. One was the Tagliatelle pasta that had all of the noodles clumped together and no sauce. The second was the Pork belly that was flavorless with polenta that had no flavor and looked like gruel, very unappetizing. The most disappointing was the fact that no manager came out to even talk with us. I know there was a manager onsite because I asked our waitress. When we walked in, the restaurants ambiance felt off, not keep up and not many smiles from employees. This used to be a good restaurant but now might be a good time for them to either do a complete over haul, management and staff or close.

Yelp
Very tasty food we loved it. I only have two complaints. The hostess was super rude. She greeted us with can I help you? My husband and I looked at each other confused then she asked us if we had reservations and we said no. We got there right at 4 o'clock. She was going to sit us next to a couple and I requested to give us another table because my special-needs daughter likes to grab people in a friendly way but we didn't want to bother them. I asked her to give us another table and she looked kind of bothered, not friendly at all. The waitress was super nice her name is Christine. My second complaint my husband ordered the pasta and it was delicious but the portion was super small for the 32dollars. The restaurant is very nice did I mentioned a lot hummingbirds. lol.

Yelp
Met up with some friends for dinner at Ocotillo, I have been a few times and love coming back! For dinner we sat inside, but Ocotillo has an amazing outdoor eating area on a beautiful lighted patio/backyard area, even a bar outside. I started my meal with a cocktail and for my main I had a homemade pasta dish with a meaty sauce. The cocktail was the perfect way to begin this meal. The pasta dish was filling and full of flavor, it also came with toasted Noble bread. I also got to try one of the ribs my friend order and man those were so dang good. Although I was perfectly pleased with my meal, I had plate envy haha. If looking for a great place a date night or night out go give Ocotillo a try!

Yelp
Wanted a nice evening with my lady before the Diamondbacks game. We sat in the dining room since it was hot outside. Server was quick to great us but took forever to get our drinks. Tea and a waters. After sitting there waiting about 4 big flys were flying around our table area and next table next to us. We asked to be moved but they said they had no spots besides bar even though place had lots of seating. We ordered or food I order a burger plain cheese just wasn't feeling much. My lady ordered the ocotillo chicken. When burger showed up at table it had no bun. My lady's chicken was super dry and had no flavor. Our server didn't come back to our table for a long time. So we just decided to get our bill and head out. Payed bill and left. This place was a nightmare and was a big disappointment. Flys flying around is not a good time messed up food on top of that.

Yelp
In a word: solid. Everyone was super nice, the ambiance was great, but none of the food we ordered (charred sweet potato, mesquite chicken, market fish) wowed us. We'd definitely come back, but I wouldn't call it a must-eat by any means.

Yelp
Service was horrible twice and food was also horrible twice. It's shameful as a neighborhood restaurant to be so awful.

Yelp
The food at Ocotillo was undeniably great, delivering a delightful culinary experience. While the service was satisfactory, it didn't quite match the excellence of the cuisine. However, what truly stood out was the incredible ambiance, creating a memorable and inviting atmosphere for diners.

Yelp
We had a girls night here and it was our first time visiting! The food was amazing, and our server was so nice. He was very attentive and helpful with recommendations. We shared the tuna tartare and bone marrow. The tuna was fresh and so creamy with the avocado (on the side because my friend is allergic). The bone marrow was decadent and had a kick from the chilis on top, which was perfect. For our entree, my friend and I shared the tagliatelle ragu and it was the perfect amount of spice. The pasta was a chewy texture and we loved it! My friend got the grilled chicken and she also said it was amazing. We were pleasantly surprised because it was so close and we had never checked it out before! We will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
We came on Sunday for brunch with some friends. Upon walking in, I felt like I was visiting a friend's home. The vibe is homey. This restaurant has so much outdoor space! It's sectioned off into different areas so you can have intimate gatherings or large gatherings. We went inside and we were seated tight away even though we were early. Our server greeted us promptly. She asked if we would like drinks. We ordered the mimosa bottle so we could all share. She remembered our orders without writing them down. So good. I got a picture of everyone's food except the fried chicken and pancake. This pancake was huge, and thick. Served on a flat iron skillet. It looked heavy. It was delicious. I think it was the best pancake I've ever had at a restaurant. It was not dry and it was not too dense. It was definitely cake like, but oh so good. My flautas were delicious. The squash tasted like meat. I got to try hubs brisket dish, it was also delicious. I definitely would come here again when I am in the area!

Yelp
Great restaurant all the way around! The food was fabulous. The wait staff very attentive and helpful. The chef came to out table to make sure everything was okay and made some good recommendations. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
This ambiance is beautiful especially at night with all the lights outside and the walkway area. The drinks are strong just how I like it lol. I got the kissed by the rose and Paloma. The waitress was so kind and helped to point out the vegan options on the menu. As for the food the pasta was my favorite! I love a chunky type of pasta and the sauce was flavorful as well. Veggie side dishes were great!

Yelp
I love the layout and ambiance of this restaurant. Beautiful outdoor areas for dining. Inside areas are equally as nice and well laid out. We recently went for Sunday Brunch, always busy at this restaurant due to the wonderful setting and it's above average food. Here's the breakdown: Food: 3.5/5. We ordered the chimichanga which was the star of the meal. Great flavor, good sized portion. Also had the sun dried strawberries with ricotta, basil etc. it was just ok. The noble bread that had been grilled had an odd flavor to it and strawberries were more like chewy gummies. Also had the ahi tuna. It was a but disappointing as well. There was nothing that really gave it any flavor. I asked for some soy sauce to enhance the dish. It was improved but not a hard me run. Featured brunch drinks were very affordable. Sangria needs an upgrade on the wine used. Would have preferred to pay more for better quality. And have had it contain some fruit for better overall drink. 3/5 Server was very nice but stretched pretty thin with indoor and patio guests to serve. 5/5 Ambiance - Note bar area seating for brunch is pretty loud. Prefer other seating areas. All in all, we will try Ocotillo again and order some other items and hopefully elevate our opinion of the restaurant.

Yelp
Went here on a whim, during resturant week! We didn't get the special but decided to try a few things. Everything we had was amazing including the drinks! Such a good spot for a date or to grab food with friends. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were very nice and knowledgeable!

Yelp
Just popped in there with my wife and we had a nice experience. They made me a delightfully delicious food. Love the place atmosphere, lovely, and comfortably great to dine in. They also have excellent coffee with perfectly pleasant flavor. We also ordered the Beef ribs, smoked salmon, and salad. We enjoyed the food so much. Good taste and generous portions. The price was fair too.

Yelp
Had a nice dinner with friends tonight. Came in for restaurant week and for the number of vegetarian menu options! We were seated on the patio. It was a hot day but fortunately they had the misters on and dark curtains to block out the sun. It ended up being a nice setting for an outdoor meal. We arrived just in time for the end of happy hour and were able to put in some drinks and an appetizer just in time. I was worried that the dishes were too small to share among a group of four, but the portions were decent and we ordered multiple items. I recommend the burrata salad, the eggplant meatballs, and the charred sweet potato! The OG cauliflower could have used more time roasting. The tagliatelle was a bit oily and the noodles slightly over cooked. But overall, a good meal.

Yelp
This place is super nice and a great place for events, as their patio is big and, at night, looks so pretty. The food is also delicious.

Yelp
All 3 of my friends and myself got food poisoning after eating here. Service honestly was really slow, and wonder if our food sat out or ingredients. Shame, as I'd heard good things about this place.

Yelp
Very nice restaurant and amazing service. Quick to take order, get our drinks and food arrived just in time. The food was so tasty and will definitely be back again! We sat on the patio and the weather and comfort was perfect!

Yelp
Ambiance is great. My friend and I sat outside, the lights gave it a cozy environment, plus the cats that roam about. Service was good as well. Ordered the large plate to share; we ordered the market fish dish, thought it would be something different but ended up being salmon. The portion was extremely small for the price. I liked the rice underneath the dish, but there wasn't anything that spoke out to me. Also ordered the kale salad, I thought this was the best plate out of everything we ordered. Lastly, we also ordered the grilled chicken wings. I was not a fan of the crema sauce. I ate it by itself, it had a bit of spicy kick to it due to the aji Amarillo, but I wished it had more. I felt that aji made it more flavorful.
