Super yummy! The host at the counter was so friendly and such a delight!! We thought we knew each other from somewhere but I think it was just this person's amazing customer service that was so warm and friendly and felt familiar! The Warriors Breakfast Burger was an amazing pick- the burger was cooked perfectly and the patty was seasoned well! And the host gave me a heads up that the egg would be runny and asked if I wanted to modify it- I kept it runny and it was incredible! Tots were crispy and perfect and the Oreo shake is perfect! 6 out of 5 stars!

Came here after seeing a Instagram video. Everything’s cool, I can see where they’re going with the food it’s cool but idk. Found a wood chip I think in my burger and the burger was all charred but rare in the middle. Chicken still had a bunch of hair on the wings mostly. Cool place again, but not worth the price.

Google
amazing spot, definitely come here! love the vintage modern americana vibes and great service – L was working when we came in, soo sweet and helpful. we ordered the bulgogi burger, warriors breakfast burger, single (smash) burger, and fries. all AMAZING, juicy patties, dynamic flavors, perfect fries (not a single soggy one). get the Oh G sauce on the side for the fries/burgers too. will definitely be back to try more :)

Google
Solid 4.5. Got a burger with caramelized onions and their sauce. Not too heavy or oily. Feet snack or light lunch. The young fellow at the counter was nice. Sat by the window. Casual.

Gerry Cohen

Google
Solid casual diner…burgers very good, i recommend the standard double patty. The menu includes a number of specialty burgers which should be considered, salads looked good! Fries also good! Server very pleasant and knowledgeable. Music selection appropriate for burger diner.

James Kwok

Google
Great burgers and a nice variety of menu items for every craving! Beef patties were thicker than smash burgers at other places, definitely a pleasant surprise. Fried cheese curds were a stand out side, as well as the Cobb Salad which came with a generous helping of blue cheese. Definitely recommend ordering in person, as the additional cut ordering platforms take will add up, but very pleased with the experience overall, and the food was top notch!

Google
I got the cheese burger with fries. Done very well. They toast the bun like a restaurant should. Fresh beef patties had such great beef flavor. Bulgogi burger really tastes different from regular burgers! But its classic American style that anyone can enjoy. If you like 1950s themes this is a fun place to go. Fonzi? Lots of sweet old school music. Family friendly there were a lot of grandparents and children. Street parking a plenty in montclair. Grab a seat then walk up to order at the counter. Service was good. Will take the time to explain the menu to you incase you get nervous with some of the korean fusion ideas.

Google
The food is a cross between average and unremarkable. Lacking flavor and delicious goodness, I was left underwhelmed. Surely a burger can be of quality and flavor, must there be compromise?
google avatar

Yelp
We got the galbi wings and they were soooo good. Tried some yang'yum sauce too with the wings and that was good too so now I'm convinced every flavor of wing will be excellent! Will be back soon, hope to try all the wings

Yelp
Best burger in Montclair village! I really enjoy their cheeseburger and animal style fries

Yelp
I had a burger with fries both times I was here and they were amazing!!! The workers are extremely friendly and kind. Definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Sam Z.

Yelp
Had the double with cheese, combo, with a lemonade. Burger was a little salty. The fries were a good texture, but not much flavor. Service was fast and friendly. We sat outside, which was great since it was quieter than indoors. Bathroom was clean, but not handicapped accessible - it's way, way, way upstairs. Would definitely go back and try one of the signature burgers, but probably not for a while, my arteries can't take that much grease that often!

Yelp
women-owned business? why is the owner's photo of a man? women-operated? there's the same 2 men there every time I've gone (3 times), and no women to be seen working there ever. worst anemic looking undercooked onion rings, every damn time. no comprehension that mayonnaise has eggs in it when asking about avoiding that specific allergen in my order; they added mayo to the order after said conversation, with my request for no mayo/sauce. they did credit my full order after the fact (the fact that I started eating it before realizing their mistake) so they get one star for that. unfortunately they also let the order of onion rings sit on the counter, to be re-served to me, cold and soggy and greasy, with my freshly made no-mayo burger, so they get that one star taken away again, just like that. not returning.

Yelp
I accidentally went to the wrong location for an event but it was def a happy mistake. This is located in a cute little plaza with fairy lights, parking is a bit difficult so try to go there not during peak rush hour times. I went here after work and it's such a cute place. Staff were very kind. The tables are spacious and lots of booths. There is also outside seating. I love a good smash burger and fries-- super juicy. Support small businesses! Would come here again.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the best burger spots I've been too! All the burgers super juicy since they blend their meat with Short rib cuts! The kimchi grilled cheese!!!! Omg I'll come back just for it! Inside looked like an old school diner really giving you some fun vibes for a burger shop and all the orders really attentive! Def highly recommend!

Yelp
2062 Mountain Blvd Oakland, CA 94611 "Oh G Burger" serves up satisfying Smash burgers! I don't come up to the Montclair area of Oakland too often. But recently I visited Oh G with a friend. I ordered a Double w/ lettuce and tomato, and we shared a big basket of Tater Tots. That Double had that "old fashioned" burger taste. The SMASH Burger had that crispy charring that brings out the meaty flavors. Then it's coated with beautiful creamy cheese! Well made burger! The fun decor looks like an old school diner. Friendly staff, we had a nice time here.
google avatar

Amy S.

Yelp
The service was great! Order took a bit long, but a big order came in right before mine. Burgers are good my kiddo ate the whole thing! I did not enjoy the sauce and the amount of Mayo. Next time I will request less mayo and no sauce. Decor is bright and inviting.

Yelp
So many burgers, sandwiches, and cheat day foods here and I'm not complaining! I tried a bunch of items with my friends, but the absolute highlights of our meal were the breakfast burrito, warriors breakfast burger, cheese curds, and house made buttermilk ranch. The breakfast burrito was surprisingly my favorite item here despite this spot being known for their burgers. With their ranch and some hot sauce, OH G is it good! The warriors breakfast burger was my favorite of the burgers (I guess they just really know how to do breakfast here). Cheese curds were tasty but how can you go wrong with fried cheese? Again, everything needs to be drenched in their AMAZING ranch. Service was great!!! One main guy (the manager) was holding it down. He checked up on us often, helped to give recommendations for the menu, and was overall really friendly and approachable. The inside had a decent amount of seating and was nicely decorated. Only thing is parking may be difficult.

Yelp
Small burger joint with friendly service and great burgers! This small burger joint has a retro vibe and fits quite a bit of seating. Though they only had a few people working and a small kitchen, I didn't have to wait long for my order which I took to go. Service was friendly, helpful, and timely. I really enjoyed the burger! I had no idea what a short rib blend patty would be like but it was tender and flavorful and the potato bun paired perfectly. I also really liked the Oh G sauce which wasn't too mayonnaisey like some sauces. They gave me lots of fries which were my favorite thin, soft, yet crispy kind of fries and tasted fresh.

Yelp
(5 out of 5) Wow where do I start. This place is located in the Montclair village, with Christmas lights strung around the area it's a duper cool area to come check out. Inside it has a really cool diner feel but the food here isn't like your typical diner. All burgers made with a short rib blend make the Pattie's super flavorful and tender, with a great house sauce called the OG sauce. The only flaw about this place is how tiny the burgers are. But it's made up for with how much flavor they have! The service here is also great! Everyone reading this has got to come by and try what they have. When you come by tell them Rothyy sent you!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is an absolute gem! It captures the old-school vibe of a retro burger joint. The decor is on point with vinyl records adorning the walls, classic oldies playing in the background, and a vibrant 50s diner paint job that takes you back in time. The bulgogi burger was a standout - incredibly juicy with a marinade that was bursting with flavor. I did wish the ssamjang in the aioli had a bit more kick, but it was still delicious. The chopped cheese was decent, but it felt more like a burger on sourdough. It missed the gooey cheese and crumbly texture of a traditional chopped cheese, and was lacking in sauce. I had to add extra ketchup and ranch to free it from being so dry. Next time, I probably wouldn't order it. The tater tots were a pleasant surprise, seasoned to perfection! But the real star of the show was the onion rings! I don't even like onion rings that much!!! They were perfectly crispy, and the onion stayed intact with every bite - no sliding out of the batter here. I can't wait to come back here for another meal!
google avatar

N W.

Yelp
Great burger and wonderful service. Only bad thing was the batter to the onion rings were overly salty. Try using less salt are substitute using old bay seasoning gluten free and stir in well.

Yelp
I decided to try this place after reading the reviews. I was beyond disappointed. I ordered the smash burger combo with lettuce, tomato, and bacon. The brioche bun was burned and the patty was dry. This was the first smash burger I've had that was incredibly dry. I couldn't even finish the burger. I tipped 15% for a to go order, I probably shouldn't have done that since my burger was so terrible.

Yelp
If I lived in the 'hood I'd be here non-stop. I've been twice, the first time was on the way back to Berkeley from the Oakland Zoo with the kiddos and the second was with a Yelp event. Chicken tenders are a big win. The kids loved 'em. The fries are equally as good. The smash cheeseburger was delicious. Definitely light on the protein, but extremely well made and the bun and accoutrements were so good. I ordered through Uber Eats, and the prices are higher that route, but they don't give you an option to order thru the website, so, if looking to call ahead, it's a bit more difficult. They do have a kids menu, but it's also not listed on the website. I'm interested in the salads. The first time I can on a Friday night, it took longer than expected as this spot is popular and not large, so they don't have too many cooks in the kitchen. If you read other reviews, you can see wait time seems to be a bit of issue, so be prepared on busier times. Overall, a solid spot for fast food style eats that's not too fast and higher quality.

Yelp
They were one of very few restaurants open on Christmas Day . We tried the Double, the Montclair and the Warriors... plus fries, onion rings and a vanilla shake. Everything was good. The egg on the Warrior looked super appetizing -- I had the Montclair; I'll have to try the Warrior next time.
google avatar

Joel S.

Yelp
It's okay but I've fallen for the recent hype. Lots of families and a couple of TVs on the walls. I didn't taste anything related to an Asian inspired burger? It's juicy, I would have preferred the onions to not be raw and honestly I added ketchup to enhance the taste. Milkshake is good.

Yelp
My daughter saw this restaurant posted on social media for having amazing smash burgers. So we had to try it the next time we were in Oakland. The service was awesome. The food came out quick and fresh. The restaurant reminds you of an old school diner but hip and trendy. French fries were hot and crispy. The Montclair burger was good and juicy. Definitely will be back to try the wagyu burger on the menu!!
google avatar

Kelly F.

Yelp
Definitely must try for a burger place with fusion korean flavors! We had their wagyu and bulgogi burgers- bulgogi was flavorful and the wagyu was perfectly seasoned. Service was great as well. The interior definitely was spacious and was well dec. Would definitely come back for other things.

Yelp
OH G Burger is hands down one of the best spots in Oakland for a solid lunch! We ordered the breakfast burrito and the Warrior breakfast burger, and both were out of this world. The breakfast burrito was packed with flavor--fluffy eggs, savory bacon, crispy hash browns, and just the right amount of seasoning. It was perfectly wrapped and left us full and happy. The Warrior breakfast burger was on another level! Juicy, loaded with all the breakfast essentials, and stacked high with flavor. Every bite was a perfect combination of hearty and indulgent, with the right balance of toppings that made it unforgettable. The fries were fresh, crispy, and seasoned just right--definitely a must-add to your meal. On top of the great food, the vibe in OH G Burger is perfect. The red booths give it that classic diner feel, making it a cozy and fun place to hang out. The service was friendly and fast, which made the whole experience even better. If you're looking for a lunch that'll blow your mind, OH G Burger is where you need to be. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
It's no longer Flippers with a decent and diverse menu. It's been transformed into a 50s red vinyl and doo wop music venue with fewer burger choices. Our party all agreed that the burgers were decidedly and unfortunately underwhelming. Sadly, I won't be back.
google avatar

Matthew P.

Yelp
Burger was a solid smash burger, well-charred and constructed so that it was a bit messy without completely falling apart. Kind of pricey, but if you don't mind, it's on the better end of smash burgers. Loved their pickles too. Definitely recommend adding tomatoes or something with acid since the whole thing it pretty greasy. Sleeper hit was the onion rings. The onion doesn't pull out of the breading like 90% of other places do. Can be paired with any dip. Fries were fries, which typically means it's good. Animal-style, I'm realizing, is more a California marketing slogan than anything. We ordered online for pick up and they greeted us enthusiastically. Friendly vibes and I would love to spend time in the outdoor seating since the location is pretty pedestrian friendly.

Yelp
A great burger joint with a Korean flavor in each item. The k sauce on the short rib was spectacular ! Also, the milkshake was super delicious!! Very friendly staff!
google avatar

Yelp
Service was great! Staff were very friendly and welcoming & the food was delicious - would definitely come back :)

Yelp
First time here and the burger instantly skyrocketed to the top of my favorite burgers in the Bay list. The service was awesome and the counter seating was the right vibe. Definitely will be back!

Yelp
On a work break and quickly yelping for burgers nearby the Oh G Burger popped up. Nearby or on La Salle Avenue. The spot is between a lot of shops inMontclair village in Oakland Piedmont. Clean , spacious , however parking can be issue at busy peak times but unpacked at the CHASE bank with no regulations. Being a WARRIORS can I ordered the breakfast sandwich burger . It was nothing I have ever had before, I've had a runny sunny side up like at Red Robin's only. The price is ok not low or not too high, beverages are refillable and they fill it for you behind the counter I think. This place just had a yelp ELITE even the cashier owner Jong told me. I could see yelp leftover swag on the table like bottle openers etc. the tator tots probably the best I have had in a while didn't taste frozen and the crunch and house mad dip ranch was perfect they give a huge amount of tots to I couldn't finish so I got a cardboard foldable mini container. The ambiance was chill lots of take out orders as Xmas season 2024 it is. Lot of locals and families dined here while I was eating . The person who told me his name is Jong said there is a grand opening on Friday for another one in BERKELEY so keep an eye out. There is shakes and Korean type burger too which I want to try. They have sesame buns but you can opt for potato buns plain if allergies are an issue . They have a bathroom for customers that is located upstairs no code needed.I love the ranch too I was like chain restaurant home made ranch . That's all merry Xmas and happy yelping I might go to the grand opening of the 2nd location in Berkeley! Oh G is a great spot

Yelp
I search far and wide for the best burgers in the Bay Area, and this might take the top spot. Big clean restaurant with plenty of seating and tables outside (for dogs and mini horses). Was greeted by the friendly staff and food was ready quickly! If you like smash burgers this place it's probably the best in the Bay Area, I love burgers, I've had many burgers, these might be the best burgers. Not too greasy, nice crispy bits, good sauce, and I might order another one right now. Definitely worth the trek from San Francisco!

Chris R.

Yelp
The burger really is exceptional. I'd say it's definitely in the top 3 burgers I've had in the east bay, maybe the best.
google avatar

Paige N.

Yelp
If you're in the Montclair area and crave a smashburger, look no further! Got to try a few items here and the notable mentions are the smashburger and K-chicken burger. The smashburger was super juicy and had great flavor. The K chicken sandwich had sweet gochujang sauce and was a great alternative if you're not wanting beef patties. Their animal fries and cheese curds portions are definitely great for sharing! The ambiance is casual and diner-like with brick walls with painted murals and booths for dine-in. Service is very friendly. They get busy during lunch so give yourself extra time or order ahead
google avatar

Yelp
Hands down the best smash burger in Oakland. Best place to eat in Montclair Village. Awesome dine in decor.
google avatar

Alex F.

Yelp
Was excited to try this new burger spot on their grand opening day. Unfortunately it was a big let down. First off, the fries were stale/overcooked. Tasted like old fries that were reheated. I asked (maybe) the owner/manager about it and he claims that's just how they're cooked here. No offer to fix and make another batch. My bacon cheeseburger tasted bitter, greasy, and then salty. I usually don't mind greasy flavorful burgers but this wasn't it and left me feeling nauseous. Also, I was charged for fries and a fountain drink separately $8 vs the combo price of $6. Luckily I asked for a copy of my receipt and was given a refund for the difference. $2 isn't much these days but it's the principle. Their onion rings and house made ranch were delicious. Interior was nicely done and service was good otherwise.

Yelp
Was hoping their new location in Albany/Richmond would be opened before Christmas but looks like it was delayed a week so instead went to their Oakland location. Restaurant is co-owned by the owners of Oghane Korean Bbq (which we have frequented many times). Opted for their basic double burger. This was a good burger. First bite was packed with flavor from the meat which I believe is a short rib patty. Nice little bit of char, little bit of grease. I liked the caramelized onions and dill pickle. Their Oh G sauce is like an aioli. Every bite was full of flavor. Inside is like a classic 50's diner with 50's music and cool art on the wall. Good vibe, and clean. Would def go to their Albany location which is closer.

Yelp
So this is a review on a "To go" order and have yet to try the burgers here or experience dining at the restaurant itself... I stopped by this restaurant on Sunday to order some Chicken Tenders and Tater Tots for my kids on the way home from a play date. It's a new spot as it was the first time noticing it, so I thought I'd give it a chance, and my 4 y/o really wanted a vanilla milkshake. Ordering was quick, but the time it took to get the Chicken Tenders and Tater Tots was agonizingly long. I think we waited for over half an hour, and with two 4 y/o toddler boys, that was an eternity. It appeared that the kitchen and staff were still gaining their footing. Anyways, the food was good and I do want to go back to try the burgers as everything that came out looked good.

Tobie G.

Yelp
I tried the social media darling Bulgogi hamburger and tater tots. The tots were great - super crispy & abundant. The burger - not so impressed. There was so much sauce on it that it was seriously messy to eat. Unfortunately I didn't detect much Bulgogi flavor. Was hoping it would have maybe something spicy on it or beside it - Kim Chee maybe. Alas, no. It was a tasty , quality burger, just didn't strike me as a Bulgogi burger. For food, I rate it 4 *. The issue the service. I went on a cold, windy afternoon. The wait staff left the door open most of my visit and it was cold inside. I asked them if I could close it and they said they would do it, but didn't. Cold food, cold diner.

Yelp
Great service and delicious smash burgers. The shakes are solid too (and massive). Great addition to the neighborhood!
google avatar

Jamye A.

Yelp
Oh G Burger is an great addition to Montclair! A great family spot with a fun 50s diner vibe with a slight Korean twist. The signature burger was smash burger style - juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The crispy fries were delicious, but they also had yummy tater tots and Cheese Curds! Plus everything came out fast! Friendly staff, great atmosphere--definitely a new go to spot. If you're a burger lover, don't miss this place!
google avatar

Johnny M.

Yelp
What a disaster. The grilled cheese on my Montclair burger was not crispy but hardened. It felt like biting into rubber. Burger was super greasy, everything fell apart. Dirty floors. Have to ask for water. Not the best dining experience. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Michelle T.

Yelp
Fantastic new look!!! Great service. Fun tunes. Excellent food!!!! We'll be back for sure.

GARY H.

Yelp
The finest smashburger around. Properly cooked burger with great beef flavor. Shoestring French fries are cooked perfectly. Terrific fountain Coke was rich with syrup. Comfortable booths and nostalgic music. Very friendly people and great service. My third visit confirmed that they are consistent. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Victor C.

Yelp
Very disappointing experience and bummed as this is pretty close to home. We got to go and the chicken sandwich has too much sauce with the coleslaw just too much going on. Bacon cheeseburger was ok but bun was very soggy and flat. Fries were inedible - over cooked and hard. Onion rings way too salty. Will not be going back.

Emma M.

Yelp
I ordered delivery. The food was good but not great. I'm not sure I'll order from them again.
google avatar

Tariq A.

Yelp
Customer service is very warm and friendly. We were greeted instantly upon walking in. The ambiance is nice like an old soda shop. Had one of their regular smash burgers meat was super juicy and flavorful fries were nice and crispy overall 10 out of 10 at great burger.

Yelp
Oh G Burger is taking over for long-running Montclair restaurant Flippers upon its owner's retirement, and fortunately the change is a positive one. Oh G also owns Korean BBQ restaurant Ohgane, so they've got experience. The restaurant has been updated with new paint and new murals of classic cars on the walls, aiming for the overall vibe of a 50's diner. Classic oldies hits were playing over the speakers in the background, but TVs were showing sports. The menu, too, has been revamped. It's still primarily burgers with a few notable Korean-flavored specials, along with sandwiches, salads, and appetizers, but it's much more compact than before. This works in Oh G's favor, I think, as the shorter menu allows them to focus on a few things and do them well, and it's easier for customers to make a decision. My mom and I paid them a visit this past Sunday evening during their soft opening (current grand opening is planned for September 22!). My mom ordered a classic hamburger (which comes with American cheese, grilled onions, Oh G sauce, and pickles on a toasted potato bun, and you can add lettuce, tomato, additional patties, or other toppings at a small cost), fries, and a chocolate shake. I ordered one of their signature items, the Bulgogi Burger, which comes with pickled red onions, a ssamjang aioli, and Ohgane bulgogi sauce, as well as an Oreo shake. The food came out relatively quickly, but aside from a few online orders they weren't particularly busy so that probably helped. The burgers were done smash-style and were delicious and juicy - mine was practically dripping. The fries were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside and tasted like potato. The shakes were thick, creamy, and flavorful. My mom said it was the best burger she'd ever had; I won't go that far but mine was extremely good. And the cost for everything was fairly affordable, given restaurant prices these days. I would have loved to see some Korean sauces at the table to dip the fries in (only ketchup and mustard bottles were available) but they'll provide a dipping cup of sauce if you ask. In short, Oh G Burger is a great addition to the Montclair neighborhood, with a smart menu, good vibes, and tasty food. I highly recommend checking them out!

Yelp
Now that's a tasty burger. I'm really into my burgers and these check off all of the boxes for me. I have had the double and the single. Haven't tried their specialty burgers yet. The double: So good. The single: I usually get a double smash burger everywhere else because the single leaves me wanting. This one is a perfect smash burger. The staff is nice. The wine is good with one exception: I think they charge $14 for a glass. Too much for wine in a burger place.

Yelp
Great burgers! Awesome to have a great burger joint in Montclair! Very near to our home and an excellent family joint.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute new place! We came to check it out and the burger sauce was delicious with the caramelized onions. Vanilla shake was not too thick. I want to try the kimchi grilled cheese next time. Service was great :)

Yelp
I decided to try this place because it opened recently and I think that it is one of the best burger joints in the Oakland hills, the burgers were very good and not dry and f, the food was delivered quickly and this place got a complete makeover sense the last owner, new paintings and new seats! I would definitely stop here in the future especially as a post ride lunch spot!
