Where to Eat in Oklahoma City | Bon Appétit

"“TheOSU-OKC Farmers Market(400 N Portland Ave) is the biggest and the oldest in the city, and my favorite. It’s on the Oklahoma State University campus and we’ll go at 8 a.m. on Saturdays to make sure we get the best stuff. Sometimes the farmers we work with will want us to try something new. We mainly work with a guy named Wayne Jesko and his farm, W Bar and M, for lamb, juicy berries, obscure melons, rare dandelion greens, and insanely beautiful, giant Napa cabbage. Another farm called Leatherwood is run by Bud and his wife (pictured above), who grow the broad leaf French sorrel that we use in desserts or anywhere that we need an acidic, bright, fruity quality without using lemon, which doesn’t grow here. They have conventional produce plus bitter melons, long beans, and plenty of herbs.”" - ByAlyse Whitney

Everytime I come here, I'm overwhelmed at how hard working and amazing the vendors are! I always start with the Antique mall just to see if I can find any cute decorations which brought me to this store that had the cutest little Jester mugs. The first time I went, I only bought 1 and the lady at the counter was so sweet, I just knew I had to complete the collection! I can't remember the number but she has cute antique decorations, accessories, and kitchen items, making her my absolute favorite place to stop by in the Antique Mall. Making my way over to the main building is always a delight because I know I'm going to spend a bit of money. I found this matcha spot in there which, I kid you not, makes the best matcha in OKC! She's not there every Saturday but she has her schedule on her IG, so I try to be there whenever she is to get a Banana Cream Matcha. Next, I'll have to get samples from as many vendors as possible. The Chicken sausage and Okra gumbo is so flavorful, I now buy a cup eachtime instead of sampling it. There's a spot in there that sells bottled drinks (Lattes) and they are now staples in my home when I make at home matcha/lattes! The pistachio is probably my favorite but I've also had strawberry, banana, Kombucha, and one of the fruity teas. They're $8/$10 each so I only get one every other time I go to the Market. My favorite food vendor is a tie between MawMaw's and Snibble's! MawMaw's has the best and biggest loaded baked potatoes I've ever had and their smoked brisket is just the cherry on top. The boys there are so motivated, I love seeing them get people in to sample their food, but it's even better when I see someone buy a meal based on the sample. Snibble's has a restaurant up in Spencer but their spot at the Farmers Market is the real deal. The guys there are so enthusiastic and warm - they'll bring you in by their energy but you'll stay because of how good their food is! I pretty much always buy a pack of their delicious, spicy Chicken Sausage links.

Recently, I went to an evening with Matrix DanceSport in the second floor converted ballroom. Great location, great venue. Had a great time.

Lots of food and health food options, lively market with plenty of free samples given out. We especially liked the organic products by Dilfuza - lady who has a company that locally produces body & face wash, oils, creams etc from all natural sources. We bought a few of her products and are impressed!

This area has indoor and outdoor market sales by tradition. So farm fresh, locally grown produce is here. And they also have bakeries, hot bars, plants for outside your house, antiques and regional items which are hard to find. There's a hot yoga studio. And a couple of restaurant/bars. I dk if anyone still sells meat here.... The main building has a large room to host shows, dances, live music or even events like banquets, speakers etc. This building has unique architectural features and quite a lot of history as a weekly gathering place for people from the countryside to come to town to trade their wares. This used to host live music which also might have been on the radio here. They had roller skating and all kinds of dances and parties in the main building. Most area people have a feeling of deep nostalgia when they see photos of this place. And they remember specific stuff about it. Happy place. Many shop weekly here.

I had a blast, at the OKC Farmers public market! Baklava,, Focaccia bread, homegrown blueberries, I got to meet several great vendors, everything I have pictures of for the most part is vegan except for the bakery products the beginning. I got treats, mushroom jerky, black seeded watermelon juice, and the most amazing cologne I've ever put on! I had a great time! Very wonderful place with lots of great vendors and lots of options! I could have spent all day in there! Thanks for the experience, I'll be back

The venue itself was awesome, great layout, nice vibe, and everything was set up really well. Only downside was the parking, which was kind of a hassle. Took a bit to find a spot and wasn’t super clear where to go. But honestly, once I got inside, it was fantastic. Definitely worth it overall.

The family really enjoyed our time here! This place is filled with great people and vendors. We had a blast meeting everyone and tasting samples. The guys running the sausage stand were awesome and I'm glad to say I bought their product. Also got to pick up some local salsa and BBQ sauce. Highly recommend making some time to visit!

Yelp
The antique mall is great place to look if you have had something stolen. But be careful the building is very unsafe. Management was intentionally blocking part of the building off from the OKC Fire Marshall for inspection.

Yelp
I'd say this event needs time to grow. The first attempt was okay. The setting was perfect and has so much potential. I can tell you that H&8th was not the event it is today the first time it kicked off so give it time!!

Yelp
Totally agree with the first reviewer. Not a lot of vendors. Many of the vendors I read about didn't seem to be there. My husband and I must've walked the entire thing about 3-4x in approximately 45 minutes. One vender already ran out of some of their food by the time we got there, which was around 8 pm. I think this bazaar has a lot of potential to be great and the location is really spacious, but maybe the organizers didn't plan this very well. I give it 1 star for location and another star for potential. If they decide to continue this event, I think I will wait until after they've had some time for growth and improvement before I go back.
