Why Chefs Love the Tulsa-Made Hasty-Bake Grill So Much | Eater

"Operated by a Tulsa native who adopted the compact charcoal ovens recently, this food truck relies on just two or three units for catering and service, praising the appliance as essentially a large charcoal oven that enables a wide range of cooking techniques in a small footprint." - Naomi Tomky

Northside favorite since 1993, carrying Pete’s Barbecue legacy with sliced beef, ribs, hot links, and sweet potato pie. TulsaPeople profiled its family ownership; official listings and recent hours confirm it’s active.

Here’s another fantastic place to have dinner! The air is thick with the aroma of barbecued and smoked meats. You’ll feel its effect right when you walk in. The eating area was tidy. The service was endearing. I loved the food!!! Don’t forget to add your favorite sauce to the meat. It will definitely be worth it!

Got the loaded potatoe...with brisket minus the ranch. Counter service was okay. They were out of peach cobbler. Took my lemon cake home reheated and add cool whip... very good food. Need to go back for brisket or ribs

Was passing through Tulsa and decided to stop here. Ordered sliced brisket plate. It came with 2 sides and got green beans & potato salad. The lady behind the counter was very helpful and friendly. The plate was loaded heavy with sliced brisket and it was tasty! I tried the spicy BBQ sauce and boy was it darn good! The two sides were equally delicious. Inside the place was nicely decorated and had plenty of room with both booths and tables. Parking lot also had plenty of space. Very much enjoyed all the food, service, and atmosphere here! 👍

Ribs were delicious but did not fall off the bone held together nicely. I felt like they could of had more smokey taste. The brisket was flavorful. Collard greens are the best I have tasted the baked beans weren't so bad either. Sides come in very, very small cups with lids. The strawberry cake was kinda dry. All in all everything was tasty. The drinks come in cans or bottles. Parking was easy. Mose got the food to go. This is the place for a delicious rib dinner.

Hidden gem! Excellent smoke flavor to the meat, loaded potatoes are HUGE! BBQ sauce is yummy but it is a sweet style sauce-just fyi. They do have a spicier sauce that is equally good. If you dont like things saucy, ask for it on the side. Super reasonable pricing especially for the portions. Friendly staff!! Don’t sleep on this place-delish sweet southern BBQ!

Me and my husband visited this restaurant three years ago. It was pretty good, the parking lot was full. But yesterday was a different story, I should have known by the parking lot something had changed because it was almost 4PM. The food smelled good when we walked in and Jeanine was certainly a joy, but the place looked run down and dirty inside. The floors not as good as they could have been, several of the seats had duct tape on them, the counters by the soda machine could definitely use a wipe down, and the restroom could surely use a facelift. Anyway, we ordered our food, and I swear my husband’s ribs looked green. I pointed this out to him, but he has an iron stomach, so he ate them anyway. I attempted to eat the brisket, and I could feel myself getting sick, so I left them alone. Did not eat the sausage. I ate the potato salad, and it was good. My husband also said the greens were good. I ordered a pecan pie (one of my favorites) and it was gummy at the bottom. I did not finish any of my food. My husband enjoyed the cherry cobbler. I will not return to this establishment. It may have just been a bad day but not one I want to experience again.

Average - *** As part of my bbq restaurant visits in Tulsa, today visited Oklahoma Style BBQ which is situated in North Tulsa. Ordered the 2 meat mixed dinner(ribs, sliced beef) along with 2 sides(baked beans, potato salad). The order took maybe 5-10 mins to be fulfilled. Picked up from the counter. The ribs were chewy and were not falling off the bone so I didn’t like it much since I prefer tender ones. Sliced beef was just ok. Its not thinly sliced but flavor was ok. The baked beans and potato salad were good. Loved the hot bbq sauce. Overall I would call it - Average.

I was all pumped to try this place out with my wife. Went on a Friday evening about 6:30pm. Walked in, 1 person picking up a to-go order. Nobody in dining area. Saw a OUT OF ORDER sign on the pop fountain machine. Strike one. Selling can pop and bottled tea instead. Stepped up to order and asked for brisket and was told they were out of beef. WHAT? Strike two. So unfortunately we turned and left hungry. Luckily we googled bbq near me and found a great little joint about 6 minutes away........
