"Old Bus Tavern, a friendly Mission/Bernal neighborhood brewpub, is closing after three years of operation. Known for its chili, burgers, and lemon basil saisons, the brewpub was opened by Jimmy Simpson, John Zirinsky, and Bennett Buchanan in 2015 with chef Max Snyder. Despite earning critical attention initially, they later adjusted the food menu to a more approachable style. In their final year, they focused on live music and a communal atmosphere. Financial obstacles in San Francisco have been a challenge, but the supportive local businesses and SF Brewers Guild have been beneficial." - Caleb Pershan

Great place, nice drinks, they brew their own beer and the cocktails are also nice. I read a few reviews about less value for money.. but I strongly disagree. Per SF standards, very reasonably priced and food portioned. Would come back, hopefully often. Nice decor, great drinks and vegan / veg friendly food too... And lastly a huge bonus for us, it's dog friendly :)

Can a place beee more underrated. Their food is spectacular and their service speedy and polite. Ideally this is a place to grab their microbrew beer with an appetizer on a weeknight with friends to impress them. Pro tip: genuine learn and ask about how they brew their beer, their brewer is usually in the restaurant too and excited to talk about his work.

Enjoyable local brewery with a wide selection of house made beer, and some non-local taps. Small service area and limited seating makes it an intimate experience no matter when you go. Some beers shine more than others in composition, but everything I have tried so far has been well brewed.

Retro-styled brasserie-bar with good beer and inventive but not entirely successful food (too much frying and salting). Popular with white 30-something gentry. Very noisy and cozy. Generally not suitable for families with small kids, though the fiendly staff accommodated us.

This place is a solid 4 stars, maybe even 4.5 stars. Food was well thought out and the menu offers a diverse selection of small and larger plates. Here is what we had: Quail eggs with fried onions: The quail eggs were well prepared but the fried onions were a bit dry for my taste and acted almost like kale used to at a buffet. Chili- We loved this so much we actually ordered two of them. This has an incredible smoky, robust flavor and is perfectly complimented by their house-made cornbread. Spaetzle- This was also delicious. Cocktails- Well crafted and complimented the food well. Had the whistle stop and would order this again for sure. Definitely want to come back and try the trout and the bavette steak. You will not be let down by anything on the menu. Also, tax and tip are included!

This was a hard call, it should be 5 stars and probably eventually will be. Everything that came out of the kitchen was sublime -- unique, creative and fresh. My beef is with the portions. We came here expecting the best burger of our lives, only to find that the chef is too caught up with his art to actually feed you. After finding out they won't serve the burger that everyone raves about until 10pm and then $109 of stringing delicious small plates together, we cut our losses and went next store to finish filling up on a couple of tacos at taqueria Cancun. Please keep doing what you're doing but serve some bread or something if the economics don't work out for reasonable portions.

They are firing on all four cylinders! 1) Great space: I have sat at both the bar (staff and other bar patrons friendly and knowledgeable) and private tables (nice vaulted ceiling). 2) Great food: love the quail eggs on nest of fried onions and the burger. Also had a great pairing of halibut crudo with an English Mild beer (Into the Mild) they brew in-house! which brings me to the beer. 3) They have a great selection of in-house (Chili Porter, Basil Lemon Saison, and a couple of their Rye IPA/PA styles are my favorites) and other local breweries. 4) Finally they have great bar staff that dreams up a great cocktail list.

Finding places like Paprika is one of the reason I love Yelp. Located on 24th St., a few step from the Bart Station, you'll find Paprika, a Hungarian German restaurant. This unassuming place tucked in the Mission District of San Francisco makes amazing goulash and serve delicious sausages. They also have wide variety of brews and list of spirits. They don't have a lot on their menu but what they have, they make very good! The service is two thumbs way up. Only one server taking orders, serving food, refilling drinks, checking on guests and she did it effortlessly! Will definitely return to try the rest of their menu.
