The 20 Best FiDi Restaurants

"This FiDi spot has a Northwestern Chinese menu that’s almost identical to the one at Xi’an Famous Foods a short walk away, and the food here is just as good. Pick cumin lamb, spicy beef, stewed pork, or cumin chicken, then specify whether you want it in a burger, over rice, stir-fried with noodles, or in a noodle soup. You can get thin rice noodles, but we like the thick flat noodles stir-fried with cumin lamb, or cold noodles with tofu skin. They also have a variety of “mini appetizers” like steamed pork buns and kelp salad (all $3.50), which are useful for when you want to try a few different things in small portions." - kenny yang, neha talreja, hannah albertine

Old Xi'an Delicacy Review - Financial District - New York - The Infatuation

"This FiDi spot has a Northwestern Chinese menu that’s almost identical to the one at Xi’an Famous Foods, and the food here is just as good. The human sitting behind the counter will point you to a kiosk to place your order, and this electronic ordering makes it easier to customize things like spice level and ingredients. For the most part, you pick cumin lamb, spicy beef, stewed pork, or cumin chicken and specify whether you want it in a burger, over rice, stir fried with noodles, or in a noodle soup. You can get thin rice noodles, but we always opt for the thick flat noodles stir fried with cumin lamb or the cold noodles with tofu skin. They also have a variety of “mini appetizers” like steamed pork buns and kelp salad (all $3.50), which are useful for when you want to try a few different things in small portions." - Kenny Yang

Old Xi’an Delicacy Opens in FiDi With Hand-Pulled Chinese Noodles - Eater NY

"Old Xi’an Delicacy has swung open in the Financial District with a menu offering hand-ripped noodles, lamb burgers, and dumplings in a fast-casual setting. Owner Steven Lam opened the restaurant last week at 164 Pearl St., between Pine and Wall Streets, and it has already drawn a crowd, with lines forming during lunch time on Friday. The menu is divided into appetizers, hand-ripped noodles served dry or in soup, burgers, and cold noodles — a collection that’s reminiscent of popular Chinese noodle chain Xi’an Famous Foods, though the two are not related." - Carla Vianna

The owner is very friendly. I like self-service! You order on machine and get your own food clean your own food. However I fortunately the food is not good. Not authentic Xi’an flavor. The noodles lacks its unique texture in xi’an noodles.

Google
Food was excellent. Service was efficient. I ordered the grilled cumin chicken and rice. We also had vegetable dumplings, which tasted good. The environment is calm and inviting.

Today 3/24 I ordered Vegetable Hand-Ripped Noodle In Soup. Sub for rice noodles. I've added pictures, one from their website of what I ordered vs. what I received (my photo). This was just completely disappointing! The taste did not make up for the presentation either.. 😣

Google
This place was a huge disappointment. We were in the area and saw this place and was very excited to give it a shot. I am a big fan of Xian Famous Food and was hoping for something similar. First of all the noodle was not even chewy. It was big, flat, soft and just boring. Did not taste the hand pulled noddles at all. We ordered the spicy beef noodle soup and the vegetarian noodle soup and both were extremely disappointing. The vegetable one was especially bad. It lacked in flavor and just bland and boring. We also ordered the spicy cumin lamb burger and the beef burger. And both were way too salty and lack flavor again. The chicken dry noddle was also bad... Really a shame...the place is cute and we really had high hopes. But a complete copy cat of Xian Famous food that failed. People who thought this place is good really don't know Chinese food..there I said it...

Google
Amazing noodle soup - complex, flavorful broth, hand pulled flat noodles, fresh crunchy veggies, delicious lamb in an overall cumin flavored, savory, mouth-wateringly spicy broth. Spartan interiors are nicely decorated with Chinese lanterns - not sure if the decorations are seasonal or permanent, but I loved the ambiance. Ordering is through a kiosk. Handful of small tables to sit and eat, and minimal staff running around serving, cleaning, helping with orders. High efficiency setup. Best news for diabetics - I have a continuous glucose monitor, and was thrilled to see my sugar did not cross 150 in the hours that followed. Shows that the broth and noodles are free of spike-causing ingredients like corn starch and enriched white flour. It’s like a cherry on top of this already superb food joint.

Google
Awesome small local spot. Very good food that is customizable however you like. It's a nice environment and the service is very fast due to the kiosks. It's the perfect lunch or dinner appt if you're a local or in the Wall st. area.

Google
I got the pork buns when I first visited, and they were almost sweet and had a very jarring flavor profile as someone who loves pork buns! The second time, I tried it again and tried the hand pulled spicy beef noodles. They were delicious. Honestly, if you like hand pulled noodles, this is probably your place! But I probably won’t try the pork buns again. Great service and wonderful atmosphere. Love the self order kiosks and the homey atmosphere.

Google
Came here for lunch on a Sunday. The place is self order (ordering done at one of two kiosk screens) and self seating as far as we could tell. Items we ordered as of 7/2022: - Beef burger - $6.95 - Very tender beef and the buns itself was also nice and fluffy. Definitely wouldn't call this a "burger" though. - Chicken Hand-Ripped Noodle in Soup - $13.95 - Missus loved this one. She chose the "Spicy" level and says it was just perfect. Noodles are tender BUT there is a lot of it and due to the thickness it can be quite heavy carb wise. Loved the soup however! - Steam mini pork buns - $7.95 - Not bad but nothing mind blowing. Buns itself had a slight sweetness to it which paired well with the soy dipping sauce it came with. Probably wouldn't get this again. - Beef Hand-Ripped Noodle - $13.95 - Same beef as the beef burger above and same hand pulled noodles. The beef again has great flavor and tenderness. Noodles are good but will get quite filling quite fast due to the thickness to them. Can't compare this to the Xi'an Famous Foods locations since they were closed but overall we were satisfied with our meal here.

Yelp
Hands down best pulled noodles ive had! The spicy beef pulled noodles in soup is really good. Just be mindful when you do order online to pick up because sometimes people will accidentally grab your order. Either way the customer service here is really good they have never been rude to me. I have yet to eat there but the area seems chill

Yelp
I thoroughly enjoyed this place. The spicy noodles were delicious and the chinese hamburger was good too. I wouldn't say it was particularly life changing as I've had really good Chinese food in the past. What I would give this place is that I think the menu is unique in that they don't do the usual dishes that you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant. The service was friendly and the place was clean. It could be a little hard to find as it's not on a busy street and there is currently (June 2024) scaffolding covering most of the signage. Still I'd recommend this place. Especially, on a cold day.

Yelp
Spicy wontons and cold cucumber salad. For lunch. The cucumbers were fine; the wontons were meh - not enough flavor/spice.

Yelp
***2 1/2 stars*** This just wasn't my cup of tea. After enduring yet another dreary Friday morning with no sunlight (almost every Friday has been like that for the past month or two), I decided the appropriate lunch to have was dumplings. After pondering and seeing a few nearby options, my Skipper and I decided this was the best of the bunch. She was already a fan from prior experience, and I had a vague memory of stopping here for a to-go order months ago. As soon as I saw the Irish bar outdoor seating next door (it involves a refitted dark green bus I think), I remembered that I wasn't crazy about the dumplings here because they had something crunchy in them - possibly chives - so I reversed course at the 11th hour and got something else. These days/lunches happen. They can't all be gems, even when you do the prep work. It's a cute interior with exposed, dark brick and a lot of big screens separating the tables. Definitely feels like some leftover COVID infrastructure in here (though it doesn't affect the experience). The dining situation here is pretty interesting. It's a hybrid of a takeout establishment and a sit-down restaurant; regardless of whether you intend to stay or not, you order on a giant iPadish device and don't really have any interaction with the staff beyond receiving the food from someone. When we were done, we just got up to leave since we'd already paid at the kiosk. I decided to get one of the more popular dishes here, the spicy cumin lamb entree with hand-ripped noodles (about $15). It arrived insanely quickly - within probably a minute or so. Huge points for that, and it made the lunch hour much more manageable. Aside from a Thai dish or two, this was one of my first times dealing with these types of noodles, and I'm just not a fan - they're heavy, cumbersome and for me impossible to eat with the provided chopsticks. They did have some plastic forks available for poor souls like me though. Also as a palate preference, there were chunks of peppers, etc. that I just wasn't into - I focused exclusively on the lamb meat and the noodles (which probably tells you I'm not the target demo for this type of food). It may be unfair to compare it to the aforementioned Thai food, but I just didn't think it tasted as zesty as that - it was more soy sauce-ish, which I don't find as flavorful (it comes with pretty much every sushi roll I've ever gotten and I ignore it). I'm certainly not going to claim this is a bad restaurant; I could easily envision someone who likes this type of food more than me having a solid meal here. And the price point/service (intangibles for sure) were very good. But I'm more likely to wander into the neighboring Irish bar than coming back here to battle the hand-ripped noodles.

Yelp
Food was so delicious! I had the beef noodle with rice noodles. I ordered it spicy and it was perfect. The noodles were chewy, the beef was so tender, and the sauce was so tangy and delicious. They were so sweet too -- I got too excited while I was eating and breathed in some sauce and started coughing uncontrollably and they gave me a free bottle of water!
google avatar

Yelp
The flavor of the foods is good. The portion isn't too large and they serve super fast. I think everything is premade there. The thing is really the service. They still expect you to tip them, but you order foods yourself and you clean and put away dirty dishes yourself. The only service they offered was bring you the food. That just shows the tipping culture in the US is crazy. Oh, did I mention two of the three dishes we ordered they brought the wrong food?

Yelp
- overall rating: 3.5 - recommend: hand pulled lamb cumin noodles - I've only ever ordered take out for lunch (it's by my client office) so I can't speak on the restaurant itself - food is usually ready in 5-10 min - personally prefer xi'ans famous foods but in a fix, this place works - decent portion sizes - "extra spicy" is moderately spicy at best - less oily than xi'ans famous foods and the sauce is slightly sweet
google avatar

Yelp
Really great cumin lamb burgers and noodles!! Tastes just like home cooking (my family is from Xi'an). Very fast and friendly service. The indoor seating has comfortable and spaced-out tables with nice artwork.

Anita C.

Yelp
Everything was fresh and delicious! I placed a pickup order and it was ready precisely on time. We enjoyed the spicy curry lamb noodles, steamed pork dumplings, fungus salad, and cucumbers. We will definitely order again.
google avatar

Yelp
Solid fast casual place if you want a fix! I enjoyed the spicy beef hand pulled noodles although I'm not sure how hand pulled they are. Not all the noodles were coated with the sauce but they did hit the spot. I enjoyed the beef as it had some chew to it and was perfectly tender. Good solid gem. Nothing too fancy but it satisfies the craving for something spicy and warm.
google avatar

Yelp
A good alternative spot for handmade spicy cumin noodles if xi'an famous foods is not near you. Portions here were generous and delicious! If you're looking for spicy noodles, I recommend going for their spiciest option. Their spicy is not very spicy for me personally. While the food was yummy, a star was docked as i unfortunately found a hair in the food. Otherwise, a solid, affordable place for noodles.

Yelp
I stopped by for lunch since I was in the neighbourhood and looking for something Chinese to eat - it's a pretty lowkey, hole-in-the-wall-esque place, and when I came by around 2pm, there was only one other person eating inside. Their ordering system is totally automated now, via two kiosks, and after ordering, I got my food (in takeout containers) quickly. I ordered the spicy beef hand-ripped noodles - noodles were nicely cut and cooked, and the sauce was unexpectedly spicy, which was definitely a plus. Beef pieces were really tasty, too - tender and juicy in every bite, with quite a generous helping. The steamed dumplings, on the other hand, were not great - definitely overpriced, and the fillings were just dry and bland. Shredded potato was fine-ish (I really do adore most potato dishes in all shapes and sizes), but for the price I'm also not sure I'd order it again next time. Generally, not a bad experience albeit a bit expensive, and I think it would be nice to come again to try some of the other many noodle dishes - but I'd probably steer clear of most of the smaller side options.
google avatar

Adhrit S.

Yelp
The ambiance and decor was nicer. Casual place with quick service and a good amount of seating. You can order at the kiosks and get your food quite quickly. The noodles didn't hold flavor well, but that's also the nature of the dish. The chicken was nicely seasoned and tasty. Overall, my meal felt average, and with the noodles, I had to really fight to make them taste like anything.
google avatar

Yelp
It hurts my heart and soul and taste buds that Old Xi'an has lost their way! Their noodles and food options used to top notch! I raved about their food to all that would listen. I haven't been back since the pandemic so when I saw they survived I was ecstatic! I ordered the old faithfuls, cucumber salad and lamb cumin hand pulled noodles. Unfortunately they didn't live up to expectations. The cucumbers looked old and wilted, they lacked flavor and spice. The cumin lamb noodles lacked flavor although I asked for medium spice. The noodles themselves were not what I expect w/ "hand pulled" They were thick and cut, instead of pulled. I am sad and throughly disappointed! I'm off to find a good noodle spot in the FIDI district!

Yelp
I've been craving this since I got to ny. This was close enough to my destination. You order on a machine. You can custom the spice level of the soup and what vegetables you want or if you want to add more of anything. The dumplings..I was surprised that it was kind of sweet. I'm not used to having a more sweet pork dumpling. Either way I think if you are in the area it's worth trying. Plus they have plugs lol charge things while you eat. The soup was very filling.

Yelp
Food came out quickly that is about the only reason to try this place Food was bad. Ordered lamb noodle and it had several tiny pieces of meat. Maybe my friend ate lamb meat while I was not watching. Noodles weren't too soggy but they were not chewy either. We ordered mild flavor and the chili-oil had no depth. Dumpling skins were very tick and dumpling were cold. They serve food on plastic containers whether you dine in or take out. They are environmental wasteful and not intended for "hot" food. Inside was humid with very weak AC. And a giant trash can sitting right in front of water fountain.
google avatar

Jen C.

Yelp
The noodle soup was very aromatic and lots of flavor! Came to this spot for lunch with coworkers. The place has a few tables to eat but it's first come first serve. You have to order your food at the counter beforehand and then grab a seat so if you plan to eat at the place I would suggest finding a seat first and then ordering. The prices are typical for fidi I ordered noodle soup and boas for about $30 Service isn't friendly as people don't greet you our really talk to you at all. Tables were clean and workers work hard trying to keep the place clean. I hate that they put everything in take out containers even if you opt to dine-in, they still put everything in plastic and it makes me feel so wasteful. They should definitely get some bowls they can use and wash.
google avatar

Yelp
I really liked the food at Old Xi'an! I ordered the Hand Pulled Noodles with chicken. I got it with the medium level spicy and think next time I will try extra spicy! I really enjoyed the soup with the thick noodles. They give generous portions and it came with veggies as well. The interior is very nicely done and there's a lot of good sitting space. The place is self serve so you can order at pay at the kiosk. Nice place and delicious food - glad I tried it out!
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoy the food from the region of China that created the thousands of terra-cotta warriors! The cuisine is from the far western part of China, high altitude plains and a city surrounded by a very sturdy wall. Come to this restaurant for a taste of XiAn and enjoy the cuisine that's local to this region. Do you love lamb? They have some lovely spicy lamb noodle dishes.
google avatar

Dasle K.

Yelp
Wow, Old Xi'an. 5/5. I'm still salivating looking at my photo. I braved the cold/rain/snow/sleet for this pick up lunch meal and it was WORTH IT. I ordered the spicy cumin lamb noodles and I devoured the entire thing. It was chewy, flavorful, and everything I needed in a noodle dish. It was perfect. I am grateful that this place is near my office. I'll be back again soon for sure!
google avatar

Lucian L.

Yelp
Noodle soup here is here legit - deep in flavor, aromatic, all of it. The burger was fine - nothing to write home about. But the service is not great here. I didn't know the protocol of ordering at the kiosk and taking a seat. I walked up to the lady working there who was packing orders, asking where I can sit, she just hollered "order at the screen." The plasticware and bowls are just inadequate and awkward for sharing food. There wasn't really a bowl if two people wanted to go halvsies on a noodle soup. There was no knife to cut the burger into two so I had to poke at it with chopsticks, making a perforated line to tear it in half. No one working there can be bothered to help. The food came down to like over $35 for lunch. Kind of pricey for what it was at the end of the day.

Md.Nahian N.

Yelp
Fantastic food! We were starving and walking around for good eats so we ordered the spicy cumin noodles. They were the right amount of spicy and flavorful and service was really quick
google avatar

Bevano L.

Yelp
Ordered a spicy and very spicy lamb cumin noodle and I'll say they are not "Asian" spicy. I'll recommend the very spicy but may try the next level for a good kick. Lamb meat is pretty generous, tasty and worth its price. Highly recommend

Macie C.

Yelp
Super good soup and especially loved the meat - perfect amount of spice and different vegetables in the soup. I got my soup to go but next time will be dining in because the ambiance seemed nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Szechuan/Chinese in FiDi! The pork buns ($7.95) were nice and juicy! No crispy bottoms though so not your typical sheng jian bao. The Hand Pulled lamb noodles ($14.75) were nice but I thought they could have used more punch/flavor/spice and the noodles could have been softer but still overall solid! Also ordered the pork dumplings ($6.95). Loved the black vinegar/chili oil dipping sauces. Interior was cozy and clean, ordering system was cool, order on a pad and they bring it out to you.
google avatar

Jenn L.

Yelp
If you're looking for a quick, fast-food style meal - this is a solid place. I went on a weekday evening so there weren't many people there. I ordered a Spicy Beef Hand Ripped Noodle and Steam Mini-Pork buns on a kiosk and they brought it very fairly quickly, nice and warm. I ate indoors and didn't have any issues with it. Was in-and-out in less than an hour. Nothing of fine-dining quality but it does the job and I'd definitely come back.
google avatar

Sai Y.

Yelp
Not very authentic. Hand pulled noodles were def made from machine, can tell the texture and it's not chewy. Flavor for the hand pulled noodles is pretty good, with the right level of vinegar. Pork bun is not authentic. It has green onions in it which is not the most authentic way to eat it. Pork in pork bun is too lean and flavor is a bit off. The buns are not the right type of buns either. Overall it's an ok spot. But if you want a more authentic Xi'an food, xi'an famous food is still a better option
google avatar

Masumi T.

Yelp
After the Monet exhibit, we were looking for food. We checked out the food courts but decided to come here. I got the lamb burger and my friend got the lamb dumplings. We ordered at the kiosk to go and each was about $8. The bun was fluffy and good amount of lamb but pretty saucy. The dumpling skin was doughy and came with a sweet dipping sauce. The noodles looked good and I would go back to try those.
google avatar

Patricia P.

Yelp
I've only had one dish here, the stewed pork over rice, and it was terrible. The pork was dry and not tender nor flavorful, and definitely not what I was craving when I think of stewed pork over rice dishes. They do accept MealPal which is nice but this dish was enough of a turn off that I'm not interested in trying any other dishes. MealPal referral link if anyone's interested (every restaurant offers a different dish each day, so you can't choose the dish but you do choose the restaurant you want to pick up your meal from): www.mealpal.com/patriciapan2

Layla D.

Yelp
I ordered through UberEats: spicy beef hand ripped noodle and steam vegetable dumplings. The flavor/sauce of the beef noodle dish was not my favorite, and the dumpling dough was a bit thick. I was not a huge fan, BUT, I recommend trying it because they are known for the noodles.
google avatar

Dave F.

Yelp
Okay. Decent flavor. No better or worse than Xian Famous Foods. You order from a touch screen and they call you to grab it when its ready. We got an assortment of dishes. Food was okay. Nothing was overly flavorful. The best item was the spicy cumin lamb burger. The cucumbers were disappointing. The extra spicy noodles were not even spicy until I went back to up to ask to for extra chili oil and that helped get it partially to where it should be. Oh well. We did get enough to get a free black fungus salad. It was...okay. #30 cucumber salad - $6.95 #15 spicy cumin lamb burger - $6.95 #5 spicy cumin lamb hand-ripped noodle (extra spicy) - $13.95 C1 - Chicken Hand-ripped noodle soup in soup- $13.95 If you're in the area, it isn't bad, but isn't necessarily a destination restaurant, which is unfortunate.

Yelp
Short wait time Spicy beef hand ripped noodles A lot of noodles, little amount of veggies Taste is good Texture and flavoring of meat is amazing Slightly spicy

Yelp
As a person with relatives from Xi'an, I was pleasantly surprised by this place. Excellent service and super nostalgic food. You really can't beat the unique taste of Xi'an food.

Yelp
Had the spicy cumin hand ripped noodles and a pork burger during my last visit. The ordering process was efficient, effective, and I didn't have to interact with anybody. Orders were taken from a touchscreen iPad-type contraption and it was complete and waiting for me at the counter about 8 minutes later. Portion sizes were on the small side as I wasn't completely full upon finishing my meal. The spicy cumin hand ripped noodles weren't all that spicy. The noodles had a nice springy texture and a cumin aftertaste. I wasn't a fan of the pork burger as I found it to be rather bland and small. It was smaller than my palm. Overall, I had an alright first experience here. Not good, not bad. I sat outside in the bar next door's seating area since they didn't seem to mind. Just make sure to clean up after yourself afterward and throw away your own trash as there is no wait staff (unlike the party that was seated there before me). Xian's Famous Foods still reigns IMO.
google avatar

Myrna C.

Yelp
Not sure if I came on an off day considering the review I previously wrote for this restaurant, but the noodles were very unsatisfying that day. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Friday night and so it was easy to order on the kiosk. The food was done really quickly (maybe five minutes or so) which was great, but there was certainly a reason why. I ordered the Spicy Beef Hand-Ripped Noodles and the noodles had no chewiness and were a bit soggy. The flavor of the beef was good though. For the price and quality of the noodles, I probably won't be returning.
google avatar

Jacky C.

Yelp
Ordered take out for lunch. Appears to be an independent shop not affiliated to the Xi'an Famous Food chain in NYC. The plus side is that you have the option to sit in and enjoy your meal at the restaurant. Cons: they do not have economies of scale on their side, so everything costs more compared to Xi'an Famous Foods in terms of pricing their menu items. I ordered the Spicy Cumin Lamb Hand-Ripped Noodles ($17), which is great! I advise wearing a napkin on your shirt as the spicy oil will splash everywhere. FYI, it's about $4 less at Xi'an Famous Food. I also ordered the Mini Pro Bun ($3.50), which includes 2 pieces. Not really worth it as there was barely any meat inside. Overall, it's a pretty solid spot if you're not looking to venture too far and live/work in this area.

Yelp
The closer location to my job was closed and i was really craving for some hot noodle soup. It was a cold rainy day. Then i remembered this location that i drive by from time to time. Figured i give it a try! Online ordering thru yelp app was SO easy! They even had free delivery available but i was on a time limit for break so i chose pick up. I loved the fact that i can add tea egg to my noodle soup (never had this option available at the other restaurant). They definitely have more veggies. Another difference is, their noodle soup has more of a spicy herbal taste to it. I ordered the spicy kumin lamb ripped noodle soup. My only complaint is, be careful handling the bag cos the lid is abit loose so some of the spicy soup will leak. But other than that, perfect bowl of hot spicy noodles!

Yelp
I wouldn't serve this food to my dog because that would be animal cruelty. I'm not sure how to even describe the experience because the food tastes like bad Chinese leftovers. We ordered dumplings which were doughy and tasteless and noodles that were overcooked and had chicken that tasted stale. I really hope this doesn't make us sick. The service is nonexistent because you order online and then some surly person drops it off at your table. It was a gross experience and I'm not sure how they stay in business. There's so many Chinese places to choose from and we went here because it was convenient and we were tired. I would avoid this place and go anywhere else. Yuck!!

Full disclosure: only ever ordered delivery from here. Food was decent, but I preferred the location in Chinatown nyc. Something was a little different. Also, the delivery requested items were not fulfilled, but huuuuuge shoutout to the delivery person who went back and got those items! I know, tip your delivery person because they work wonders and do jobs that are hard and honestly they are heroes. Ok, I digress, overall the food is good, maybe if I try it again and dine in the experience will be better. Actually, I'm sure it will. So until next time team...keep learning and educating yourself.

Yelp
I don't always find myself in the mood for this place, but when I am- nothing else will do. Quick, warming, good food with menu items you don't find elsewhere. Service is unfriendly generally, they really try to minimize human contact- but as an introvert, I don't really mind this.

Yelp
Delicious noodles and buns. Super fast service. They always have seating and take out that are super quick. Great local shop that I love to support.

Yelp
I was in NY for the day, and I was craving noodles, so I found this little place in the middle of FiDi. When you walk in, you are greeted by two ordering kiosks where you can make your selections (the restaurant is completely contactless when it comes to ordering now). Even around lunch time during the week, it wasn't too crowded with most people grabbing takeaway. Once you order, you can just grab any available table. I opted for the Vegetable Hand-Ripped Noodles in Soup. Even if you eat-in, they come in little plastic bowls with a little cover -- but looks can be deceiving! The broth was light but very flavorful. It was spicy with a good kick, but not outrageously spicy or anything. There was a good variety of vegetables in the soup, and the noodles were well made -- not too chewy nor were they falling apart. Overall, it was a solid meal that satisfied my itch for noodles.

Yelp
I used to regularly get food from here, but no more. Recently I ordered take out. I picked up my take out order and returned back to my office. To my dismay, when I unpacked my meal, I discovered it was the wrong order, with a completely wrong dish and none of the side dishes that I paid for. The value of the order was substantially less than what i paid. Essentially they short-changed me. I called the restaurant and they directed me to walk the order back and return it. I duly did. They offered no apology or freebie despite my inconvenience of walking to and from there twice and losing so much time from work. All they did is provide an excuse and say she's new. Albeit the foregoing, I did not hold it against them and ordered again a week later. They shorted me a side dish again, even though they charged me for it. I'm done! They are dishonest and will not properly own up to their mistakes, just cheat you again!

Yelp
found this place on Yelp and ordered online. Super fast pick up and offers a good portion of food! I ordered mild and the spicy level is just right. Will definitely come back again

Yelp
Pretty on par with the fast food hand-pulled/hand-ripped noodle restaurants in NYC. The small restaurant is sort of hidden on a quiet street in the FiDi. I think most people probably come upon it when walking to another destination, but don't underestimate this little noodle shop. Like many hand-pulled noodle shops, the menu will look familiar to those who have frequented similar restaurants - noodle soups, hand-ripped noodles, cold noodles, a few rice dishes and small "burgers" or Chinese meat sandwiches, which look like pitas. I ordered the Spicy Beef Hand-Ripped Noodle, medium spice. The great thing about the restaurant was that they offered different spice levels for the dishes. The order was a reasonable size and what really surprised me was the amount of beef cubes in the dish. I loved that with every bite of noodle, I had a fair amount of beef with it. The beef was very tender, well-seasoned and flavorful. Since it was medium spice, the order had a good kick to it, but it was easily bearable for someone like me who loves medium spicy food. My philosophy has always been that too spicy and it'll take away from the dish, but not enough spice will result in lack of flavor. Like the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, the medium spice was jussssst right. The noodle was also very good too and when drowned in the spicy oils with cilantro mixed in it was noodle bliss. I have yet to try anything else from Old Xi'an, but it wouldn't surprise me if everything else was just as tasty.

Yelp
The hand pulled noodles here were a bit soggy and lacked the chewiness that Xi'an Famous Foods has. Our dish came out in less than 5 minutes too which was kind of nice but questionable as to how it was made so quickly.

Yelp
Gristly, greasy and overpriced. Do yourself a favor and walk to Xi'an Famous (either Liberty Street or Chinatown), it's way way better.
