From beginning with a drink at the bar to end with dessert, our entire experience at Olivers was exceptional. The atmosphere, the vibe was great, the food was first rate, and the drinks were wonderful. We will be back, and we have told all our friends what a wonderful place it is to go.

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our visit was perfect. The food was nothing short of amazing—every dish was bursting with flavor, beautifully presented, and crafted with care. And the atmosphere? Simply stunning. The ambiance set the stage for a truly memorable meal. If you’re looking for a place that delivers on food, service, and style, this restaurant is an absolute must-visit! They even have Valet!

You can tell that every aspect of this place is well thought out. The food is exquisite, cocktails to match and pretty much go with everything. Knowledgeable staff that seemed as excited to be there as I was, and met me on my level to discuss each dish. It also felt like they took a genuine interest in me as a person, I’m not just a number walking in for a meal.

My husband and I have a hard time finding restaurants with our snobby food standards. We both love cooking and know good food. Our first time at Oliver’s and the food was incredible!! So good I wanted to meet the chefs! In addition, our service was amazing. Our waiter Devon was able to answer every question I had about each dish and was beyond knowledgeable and professional. Even our drink waitress was amazing! If I had any complaint it would be that the atmosphere is a bit outdated…but everything else was such an incredible experience that it was easy to overlook. Well worth our drive from Canada!

Google
As a vegan they took care of me very well. They had lots of options that could easily be modified without dairy or animal products to be vegan. They happily switched anything with honey to maple syrup and every dish I had was amazing!

My daughter and I had a very nice culinary dinner at Oliver’s Excellent food knowledgeable wait staff and a relaxing atmosphere

Google
Another excellent experience at Oliver's this past weekend. The food is high quality and expertly prepared, the atmosphere is definitely fine dining but not at all formal or stuffy feeling, and every employee we encountered was exceedingly courteous and friendly, especially the young lady in the coat check room and one of the parking attendants in their valet lot who escorted my wife out after dinner and opened the door for her even though we didn't park in their lot. A nice touch seldom found anywhere these days.

Yelp
We just enjoyed a superb dining experience for our 10th anniversary This past Thursday The service was fantastic, Kyle our waiter was so good ,very welcoming and knowledgeable. The lobster bisque was very good maybe the finest I might have enjoyed, our dinners were even better. The lobster risotto was wonderful with enough lobster for anyone to like, I had the duck and Wow, amazing Perfectly cooked large portion with a sauce to die for Absolutely the best duck ! Thank you for a wonderful evening .

Ciara H.

Yelp
First, the service was incredible! Kai (or Kyle? Sorry!) was exceptionally attentive. The ambiance is what you would expect of an older, established, more expensive restaurant. The acoustics were actually decent and I had no issue talking with my friend at the table. The food was overall good. The cocktails were maybe slightly disappointing but still decent cocktails. The oysters and the spinach bread were the star of the show. I highly recommend both. My friend said the lobster risotto was very good. The bolognese was too salty. I love salinity but this was too much for me. Next time I'm here I will have to try one of the steaks.

Yelp
As Oliver's catered our wedding two years ago, we decided to celebrate 2 years by going to Oliver's. Let me get it out of the way that I HATE the valet parking experience. I dread coming here because of the valet situation, especially when you have to wait ages for your car when you can literally just walk to the car, along with having the tip for something we could do more conveniently. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, lets just say they we had an amazing time. The staff was wonderful, our steak and drinks were perfect, and there is nothing I could complain about (besides the parking). I would highly recommend coming here for a nice night out. There are a lot of restaurants in Buffalo with overrated and overpriced restaurants, and even though Oliver's isn't cheap, everything you pay is highly worth it. Keep up the good work, Oliver's!

Yelp
I came here to celebrate my birthday and boy it did not disappoint! Upon arrival for our reservations we were offered to enjoy a drink at the bar. The bar was so beautiful that I couldn't resist. I ordered an espresso martini, it was perfect. The toasted nuts on the bar were delicious and addicting, I had to stop eating them to save room for our meal. The overall design of the restaurant feels so elevated that you don't realize it's located next to two gas stations. Our server Fred was fantastic. Throughout our entire experience he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable regarding the menu. We were served with the complementary amuse bouche, it was refreshing and delicious. Next we ordered the beef tartare, roasted cauliflower, confit Spanish octopus and the Parker house loaf. Fred was kind enough to serve us the egg of decadence (on him) as well. Everything was absolutely delightful. The beef tartare was out of this world. The egg of decadence was unlike anything we've ever had before and was truly delectable. The Spanish octopus was a tad rubbery but even with that being said I would still order it again. For dinner I ordered the prime filet mignon with an add on order of seared scallops. My cousin ordered the prime filet with mashed potatoes and broccolini. My husband ordered the C.A.B Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and broccolini. Everything was divine. We could not have been any happier with our entrees. Fred's recommendations were excellent! For desserts I ordered the creme brûlée (which I've been thinking about daily ever since). My cousin ordered the carrot cake and my husband got the chocolate pave. Each dessert was fantastic! If you have not been to Oliver's yet I would highly, highly recommend them. The staff is professional and knowledgeable, the ambiance is classy while still being modern. We absolutely loved our entire experience and will be returning!!

Huntley M.

Yelp
Excellent food. Excellent service. If you're looking for a sure thing for any occasion, this is the place.

Yelp
Our annual holiday dinner spot. Parker house rolls and decadence of egg are must haves ! Great cocktails and wine list, great service.

Leanne P.

Yelp
For many years, Oliver's was my favorite restaurant in Buffalo for a special occasion or fine dining meal. The service and food are great. Unfortunately, our last visit wasn't as impressive as in the past. They no longer offer complimentary bread service and the overall portion sizes seem to have gotten smaller. The service is always top notch from the valet, to the coat check, to the hostess, to the servers. We recommend the beef carpaccio, octopus (the most tender you will ever have), duck entree, and lobster risotto. Also, the bartenders make one of the best cosmos in Buffalo (IMHO). The desserts change seasonally and all we have tried have been delightful.

Glenn R.

Yelp
Our 1st experience at Oliver's started with a warm friendly greeting from the Hostess and we were seated at a lovely table . The ambiance is welcoming and elegant. Our server Devin B. , Greated us with a warm smile and presentation of the menu selections. Our drink orders were taken and we reviewed the dinner selections and extensive wine list. Our dinner selections were delivered, prepared expertly the presentation was perfection. Seafood and steaks were enjoyed fully as was our Cabernet selection. Desserts were a sweet ending to a perfect meal. Our thanks to Nicolas and Chi for their attentive service along with Devin B. Overall a great special dinner experience.

Yelp
(4.25) ~ Very good Overall food & Service. Note: They have Valet parking ONLY, & I'm not sure you are allowed to street park near there...Reservations are recommended too. DRINKS: ** Britesmith Brewing "Walk the Dog" Dry Irish Stout = (4.25) Very good, would be better if they could make it "Nitro" like Guinness;) ** French Press Coffee (half) = (4) very good option *** Water (tap) = We ended up getting bottled, so I'm not sure... FOOD: ** "Apple of My Eye" Dessert = (4.5) Very Good! Highly Recommend:) See photo ** Spinach Roll (whole) = (4) kinda like garlic bread (w. spinach;) ** Roasted Beet Salad = (4) very good ** Prawn Pappardelle = (4) very tasty

Yelp
Finally made it here and I am so happy that we did. We were greeted right away. I love that they have coat check and valet parking. We were brought over to our table right away. Our waiter was Fred, and he was fabulous, very attentive and informative in helping us make decisions on what to get for dinner and appetizers. The food did not disappoint. We had oysters, chilled shrimp and spinach loaf to start. Dinner was the filet mignon which was tender and flavorful. Salmon dinner was delicious. For dessert we had the apple of eye and the presentation was so pretty. Highly recommend coming here. Excellent service, food and a great wine menu.

Samantha C.

Yelp
We have been dying to try Oliver's and finally had the chance for my birthday weekend to use a $200 gift card purchased at Christmas. We tried everything we could. Spinach bread is delightful. I was dubious at first from the description but it's a must and was well worth it. We also had oysters that were delicious, and shrimp cocktail that was also very nice. For entrees I had the scallops which were perfect in every way and had an amazing brown sear. The rare steak arrived rare so you can trust Oliver's and not order one or two shades down from what you desire. We tried three desserts all amazing. A pecan tart with a banana bourbon gelato, a chocolate ganache cake, and a salted caramel gelato with snickerdoodle biscotti. We also tired as many cocktails as we could... an ube and paw paw drink was my first and very good, the blood orange cocktail and the islandy coconut one were also divine. Everything was clearly made with care and quality in mind. Our server was also lovely and offered many helpful suggestions and took wonderful care of us. I would say that Oliver's and Prescotts Provisions are tied for best restaurant in Buffalo. And I would choose either OR BOTH for any special event you may want to plan in the future. Just superb food, presentation, and experience.

Rebecca W.

Yelp
Very good but could use some work on their acoustics. Was really hard to have one-on-one conversation during dinner without really raising our voices, even when we were seated under their large sound paneling in the ceiling. Would go again by invite, but probably wouldn't suggest it myself.

Yelp
I'm unsure what Oliver's is trying to be. We visited Oliver's on a Saturday night so it was busy. The service was impeccable, although a bit slow we were there for almost three hours. The valet and our server, Cal, were very friendly and informative. Now to the food. We were offered an amuse bouche of sashimi and avocado spread in a miniature cone that was absolutely delicious. As for the appetizers, I ordered the half spinach loaf which was delicious. My husband ordered the chilled prawns appetizer. The presentation was beautiful but very small. There were three shrimp sliced in thirds, almost like sushi but for $24 seemed very high for three regular sized shrimp. For my main dish I decided on the lobster risotto which I would go back there just for that. There was lobster in every bite and enough for two people. My husband chose pan seared scallops with fennel and lentils. The presentation was beautiful but there were only four scallops. They were only a bit larger than every other scallop you've seen at any other high end restaurant in the area. Black lentils and fennel are pretty inexpensive but my husband's dish cost $49. The dish was pretty small for the price. We each decided to get our own dessert. My husband decided on the creme brulee which was delicious and enough for two. I decided on the apple of my eye. My dessert was one of the best I've ever had in the area. We may try Oliver's again but we may just stick to the burger and steak sandwich.

Yelp
The service from start to finish was excellent. Cocktails were impeccable! Had a great time enjoying dinner at the bar. Great job! Looking forward to returning for steak!

Yelp
Fine dining, upscale, special occasion choice. Had my birthday dinner here tonight. It was enjoyable in all respects. Meals were cooked perfectly. Service was pleasant and attentive but not over-done. Started with the small serving of spinach loaf for our appetizer. I had the scallops with risotto. Delicious! Chicken Milanese with lemon zest was also tasty and came with a decent serving of arugula. My partner and I shared the crème brûlée. With 9 oz servings of wine for two, the total without tip was $158. We will return for another memorable meal and dining experience.

Rosalie L.

Yelp
We had a most enjoyable evening at Olivers. I had the best prepared octopus ever and my filet was cooked to perfection. Joe our waiter was very attentive. Our guests were very pleased as well. It has been a while since I visited Oliver's and I believe they're now at a whole different level than before. I will definitely be returning again soon. Thank you.

Katie G.

Yelp
We went to Oliver's around Easter time this year and they had this fantastic special of pierogi and short rib. I would consider that the star of the show! Chicken Milanese was decent and the presentation was nice. The rest of my party all ordered steaks and seemed to enjoy them. The lighting is a bit bright in the restaurant, however overall a nice experience and the waitress we had did a nice job checking in on us.

J D.

Yelp
Excellent dinner, drinks, & desserts! Beautiful atmosphere with kind employees everywhere from the valet to the kitchen. Great little spot!

Yelp
This was a once in a few years treat that we were able to take part in because of a generous gift certificate we received from my sister. The service is so spectacular that it made everything worth it. But, overall, I'm glad we weren't spending our own money. We started with the wagyu carpaccio...it was delicious but so small, with just three tiny pieces of the wagyu placed on top of rice crisps. I wouldn't order it again. We also ordered the spinach loaf to start, which was good enough but didn't seem to belong on the menu. It was something you'd get from your local red sauce joint. I opted for the lobster risotto for my main and was pretty disappointed. The amount of lobster was generous enough but the risotto was all wrong. It appears as if they use a medium grain rice instead of the traditional arborio rice. This meant that there was no creaminess to the dish at all. The acid from the white wine was abrasive and there was nothing to balance it. On top of that, the rice was undercooked and toothsome....just not pleasant. I didn't complain, but I probably should have. We shared the Brooklyn Blackout cake for dessert and it did not disappoint, a highlight of the meal. And I can't say enough about how good the service was. Our server Devin and his assistant were on top of everything, all the time. We couldn't have asked to be better taken care of...I just wish the food had been as excellent.

Matt C.

Yelp
My overall experience with Oliver's was great. This isn't someplace I can normally eat however my wife's sister got us some gift certs for our birthdays. We chose 8pm on a Friday night and the place was quite busy. We didn't have to wait long for our table. They do have a valet and coat check if needed. The whole decor was nice and well taken care of if a little dated. Our server was Devin and what a professional he was. His service was impeccable and was a delight all evening. My wife and I started with the beef carpaccio. It was my first time having it and I loved it. It came as 3 pcs arranged with each being essentially an amuse bouche. We also got a half loaf of their spinach bread and found that it was delightful. I ordered C. A. B. ribeye steak. It was served boneless (as it should be) and without the deckle (my second favorite part of the ribeye after the spinalis). They cooked it to perfect med rare and the meaty flavor was out of this world. I definitely recommend this cut. For dessert we got the Brooklyn Blackout. Talk about rich and decadent. It probably took almost a half an hour to finish because I wanted to savor every bite and make last as long as possible. There was one minor incident with my partner's drink not being made right but Devin took care of it promptly and without hesitation. Aside from this I cannot speak to their beers and wines because I was driving and thus did not partake. I would also say their plating style and side choices seemed a bit dated but by no means should prohibit you from going here unless you want new American cuisine. I would definitely like to go back again.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here recently and we had a wonderful experience. Parking was valet. Our waiter was attentive. We ordered the oyster rockefeller which had a creamy spinach and maybe egg base to it. I thought they were tasty but overpriced. The oysters were also tiny. We ordered the lobster risotto and the strip steak. I thought my lobster risotto was delicious. It was flavored perfectly and had poached lobster in it. My boyfriend said it was the best steak he's ever had so I guess that's a plus! We were too full for dessert but perhaps next week. I also knocked over my glass of wine by accident and they were happy to replace it with a full glass. The inside of the restaurant has such a sleek vibe to it. It was also really quiet so it provided quite an intimate ambiance. I would return.

Yelp
Oliver's Catering and Amy Phillips delivered the most memorable evening at our home party - delicious food, exemplary service, and fantastic staff who were upbeat, thorough and attentive to all details of food , drinks, ambience and fun. Thanks for great planning, and a wonderful experience An Exceptional Buffalo Restaurant and Party Caterer Hats Off!!

Khristina S.

Yelp
From the moment we arrived and we received complimentary valet parking, to coat check, and immediate seating, the experience was sublime. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Carl & Stephanie were attentive to all our needs, for drinks, rolls, clearing away dishes, and answering all our questions. I highly recommend reservations. You'll enjoy delicious food in a relaxing atmosphere, with attentive and friendly staff.

Bella B.

Yelp
If possible I would give this restaurant a four and a half stars as I definitely think it's worth more than four but is certainly not perfect. They had valet parking and a coat check which seemed kind of unnecessary. The parking lot was very small and right next to the restaurant and their was definitely room at the table for coats. The decor of the restaurant was very welcoming and cozy. I really enjoyed the rose on the table and the paintings on the wall where beautiful as well. Restrooms where very clean and I enjoyed the large mirror inside. Our server Cai was extremely kind, attentive and knowledgeable about the dishes on the menu. The assistant servers where also extremely attentive but I didn't catch any of there names. We started with some rolls and whipped butter and wow was that a great way to start. Perfectly fluffy and fresh! Next came our starters the spinach loaf and a charcuterie board. The spinach load wasn't all that amazing. The spinach flavor was overwhelming and ever the bread alone wasn't nearly as good as the rolls. The charcuterie board was great though! It featured an especially delicious white cheddar truffle cheese as well as some amazing prosciutto. I also enjoyed the gherkins. The jam was bitter but that didn't bother me much as the rest was perfect. For my main I got the Wagyu BMS 8 served with mashed potato's and Brussel sprouts. That steak was the most amazing piece of meat I'd ever tasted. The marbling made it so it just melted in your mouth. It was almost like eating steak flavored butter. The Demi gaze it was served with was a great paring and tasted SO GOOD! Those potato's where perfect! The taste reminded me of my grandmas home made mash. The Brussels sprouts I got where burnt to a crisp sadly I didn't really enjoy them. For dessert I got the Brooklyn Blackout Cake served with oat ice cream. It honestly tasted like the petridge farm chocolate cake you can buy from the freezer section at most stores. The ice cream was super tasty though it reminded me of brown sugar oatmeal. They gave us some cute chocolates at the end of the meal shaped like sea shells that where very minty and delicious. Overall this place is 100% amazing and worth your time if your order the right things!

Yelp
We recently had the best meal ever at Oliver's. First, we had no idea Valet parking was included, that was such a nice treat. We were seating right away even tho we were about 15 minutes early for our reservation. They had 3 different mocktails using 3 different alcohol-free spirits, I really appreciated this as I do not drink but like to get an interesting drink when we go out for a fancy meal. Both of the mocktails I had were very good. Unfortunately I don't remember the actual names of them, one was a jalapeño based margarita type drink and the other was a very sweet drink with a good amount of honey in it. For appetizers we each had a decadence of egg and ordered a 1/2 order of the spinach bread. Man, the decadence of egg may have been the most special thing I have ever eaten. It was such an interesting bite and so fun to savor each little spoonful. The spinach bread was really yummy, but it's something I feel like I could definitely replicate At home pretty easily.L so I wouldn't order it again. For dinner I had the lobster risotto and my husband had an aged steak. We both loved our meals! They beautifully presented and tasted just as good as they looked. We had dessert as well. A really delicious crem brule and a really nice cake. Overall we would recommend Oliver's to everyone. We hope to go back more regularly!

Rachel W.

Yelp
This is a wonderful spot. Everything was delicious. I had the beet salad, so good. The pasta cooked to perfection. Creme brûlée was wonderful. Our server was kind and attentive. The atmosphere was great for anything from a business dinner to an intimate dinner.

Michael B.

Yelp
Over priced. Under designed. Boring and not new. I always respected it but just not the same anymore

Yelp
*TAKEOUT COVID REVIEW* I must start with.... WOW! Just WOW! During this surreal time, our own individual calendars find reasons to celebrate happiness in some of the gloom; today was one of those days. It's our anniversary! Earlier in the week we started thinking about places to get take-out from for our special day, and after a fun playoff-style elimination process, OLIVER's was the winner! We pre-ordered today at 12:30 pm for a 6:00 pm pickup, and it was spot on. They asked the type of car, our order, and requested time. They asked if it was for any special reason, and upon hearing it was our anniversary, asked if we wanted champagne! Well, yes, we do! We arrived smartly at 6 pm, parked, called and let them know we were there. Less than one minute later, they were at our trunk with our order, secured the champagne so it wouldn't roll and surprised us with a bouquet of flowers! I was so shocked and delighted - what a wonderful surprise on a dreary warm spring day! We came home and unpacked our meal. Whether perfectly plated or in a black plastic container, it was easy to see that our filet mignon dinners with a Caesar said were going to be amazing. As we hoped, first bite of the steak and pairing it with their whipped potatoes, vegetables and Demi sauce, we were BEYOND happy! Thank you so much to the entire staff of OLIVER's for making and giving us a truly unique meal that surpassed our expectations. Absolutely memorable! So perfectly cooked, presented, and delivered. Again, thank you, and we will share our positive experience with many! #thankyouthursday

Yelp
Oliver's is a fine dining institution in Buffalo, frequented by diners looking for an elegant night out. The cocktails are surprisingly new-age for what is otherwise an old-school restaurant. We had the "Kindy Corny" and the "Tropical T", both of which were refreshingly different. For starters, we tried the famous spinach loaf and salads, one Cajun Cobb and one Caesar. The appetizers were all excellent. The salads are large enough to share. For dinner, we had a filet and ribeye. We enjoyed both, and they were prepared perfectly. The mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts were the perfect accompaniments. The service could have been somewhat better, which is the reason I am deducting a star.

melissa s.

Yelp
I always forget about this place and FINALLY went with my dad last Friday. To start the bartender was lovely. Her cosmo was excellent and dad loved his Manhattan. We started with the waygu carpaccio. The meat was absolutely delicious. I do think it would have been better on a crostini. The crunchy thing it came on tasted like a rice cake and had the same texture. I got the lobster risotto. I don't care much about lobster, I think it's overrated but I LOVE risotto. This dish was beyond reproach!! The flavors are so incredibly deep and rich. Reminded me a bit of étouffée which I also love. Dad had a bite and also thought it was outstanding. Dad got the bolognese which he enjoyed. I really wish I had room for the Cinnamon Toast Crunch crème brûlée. Our server was just as delightful as the bartender and had a very nice smile. My dad can be a bit difficult to impress and he can't wait to go back!!

Mark T.

Yelp
I would just like to thank you for a wonderful evening last Friday. Oliver's has been my favorite restaurant for just over 50 years. I was hesitant after the renovations and some other changes but you absolutely hit it out of the park!! The food was outstanding, the service was perfect and the decor is so spot on and very classy! I am so happy that my favorite restaurant for so long has maintained itself and grown into it's reputation as the best restaurant in Buffalo! Thank you!! Mark E. Trautman ( I will definitely be bringing the residents I work with very soon!

Yelp
Oliver's is without a doubt the best restaurant in Buffalo; and I have tried just about all of them all. Ask anyone in the know, and they will tell you the same without hesitation. On top of the consistently stellar service, the chef is always eager to try new things and take you along with him while he experiments and perfects his craft. At the same time, they have plenty of staples, many of which are unique to the restaurant. Get the Decadence of Egg (an Oliver's classic) and the octopus (my personal favorite); and be brave and try the specials, they never disappoint. The oysters are always great and from the right areas, as it should be, and the the lobster risotto is fantastic. This is more of a personal preference, but skip the wagyu and go for the filet or (even better) the duck, which is undoubtedly the tastiest duck you will have in Buffalo. Do not be scared away by the valet. The staff will welcome you with open arms and treat you like family. My date had to leave for an hour-long work call once after we arrived, and the staff treated me as a friend and kept me occupied while I waited. Pro tip: We like to arrive a little before our reservation and have a drink (or two) at the bar before.

Maria S.

Yelp
Easy spot for a date night very close to home and the food is amazing. The service is on point in the valet guys. Do a great job. It's very quiet inside, and I would highly recommend for an intimate private setting.

Maria B.

Yelp
Yeah. Still 4 stars. Wanted it to be 5. On a recent evening we came for an early bite. The bar was hopping and they were going to seat us at one of the booths near the bar. A quick "we prefer a real table in back" solved that without issue. So we got seated at a pretty odd table near the server station. Weird. The back wasn't remotely busy yet. Plenty of tables to choose from. But ok, sort of. The menu changes more often than it used to now. I love that. Far more season specific options. Much better. There are a few "tastes" they offer in the $10 range. I saw some pass by, and there are some pics of the egg one on this listing. Sounds and looks great. Really small. Then there is a reasonably large soups and salads menu. Varied choices. They do have oysters here and many order them. We don't get them but I gather they are well received. I tried the pea agnolotti. Yum yum yum. Should be a main offering. There are a few salads and some great sounding soups as well. The main section offers perhaps 10 options. A nice sounding filet. A hangar steak. A vege option that sounds about as good as the prior vege option of grits, see my prior review for thoughts there. Lobster tail. A few fish options. Duck breast (sounded great). Lamb. Scallops perhaps. I'm in love with their wine list and think it's has some changes. Even better than it was, and it was already my fav in town. I had a great red BTG. Well worth the price. You get what you pay for here in wine. I wish I felt the same about the food. Our meal was ok. The pea purée pasta was a huge hit and by far the best thing in the table our evening there. Oh, and where's the bread basket? Some odd croissant, slightly stale, showed up. Dinnertime. Croissant? Yeah, didn't get that at all. Pros: Great app. Great wine list. Not too loud, although volume went up after a while. Cons: Don't seat your early customers at what feels like the worst table in the house. Don't give them a server that showed he wasn't happy with the tip, a 20% one. Offer a real vege option that is going to be exciting to vegetarians. How hard can that be? We have no meat Monday's here and I come up with creative vege mains. I'm not a chef, not even a wannabe one. Mine should not be compared to yours in any way, and it was. I so want to give 5 stars. Maybe next time. 20190206U

Yelp
Outstanding night at Oliver's! Cocktails, martini's and 20 Rose Cabernet, served quickly and excellent! Server Devon was terrific, recommended the pork chop which was outstanding! Rabbit dish, strips, filets, oysters and octopus were out of this world! Food quality, ambiance, servers and value are top notch! Get to Oliver's you won't be d

Yelp
I had not been to Oliver's since before COVID. I was pleased to find they had not changed. Service, ambiance, food...it was all spot on!

We hosted a work event for 35 guests in their private dining room and they were excellent! Great food, beautiful atmosphere and the servers were awesome and accommodating. If you are looking for a place to host an event, they won't disappoint!

Yelp
Oliver's is my go to restaurant for special occasions. The chef's selections are so innovative. You can't get food like that anywhere else in the city of Buffalo. The food is fun, beautiful and delicious. The service is outstanding which should be expected at such an establishment. The prices are very expensive but I always have a great meal.

Yelp
It's been quite awhile since I'd been here and my wife had never been so I decide to surprise her and take her here for her recent birthday! The service, from the valet, coat check, server and bus person were excellent and very welcoming! We started with cocktails while we looked over the menu! I ordered the Cesar salad and she had the oysters. Both were excellent! We had to try the spinach loaf and we're happy we did! We ordered the half loaf and it was huge! My filet was cooked perfectly with light fluffy mashed potato and brussel sprouts! My wife ordered the sea bass and loved every bite!!! We decided to split the pistachio gelato and loved it!!! The French press coffee was awesome! What a great treat. We'll definetly return for another special occasion!

Yelp
The service and ambiance was wonderful. Our waiter was so friendly and helpful he only added to the main reason we were there, great food. Oliver's did not disappoint. After tip our bill was almost $400 but we ordered a lot of food to try for a birthday celebration. There was 3 of us. Two of us had 2 drinks each. All of the food was beyond just delicious but there were some unique stand outs that you want when you know the bill is going to up there. For appetizers we got the octopus (oh, that sauce) and the Decadence of egg (what????) (trust me, go and get it). The spinach bread I would stop in and pick up to take home anytime I'm passing by if they let me. Filet mignon, lobster risotto and duck were all perfectly cooked. One of our desserts was the Robins egg nest which looked just like a blue robins egg in a nest but was made with white chocolate with wonderful insides. We have 2 birthdays the first week of August and always try pick a high end restaurant to try out. Oliver's is top of the list hands down. Second was La Palette in Toronto (minus the ambiance). Thank you Oliver's! I had the best birthday!

Yelp
Olivers was a nice change of pace from somewhere like Russell's in buffalo. I had over of their weekly specials, the Elk with a mashed potato and brussel sprouts. My appetizer was a cabbage rolls, which was so good! Be Everything was well prepared and staff was excellent. They're drinks were great and I had a great time. Dessert was so good, I wish I had that cake another time because I was filled up. I also had a piece of steak and a spoonful of the lobster risotto w/scallops, and I was not disappointed. I wouldn't mind coming back here.

Yelp
I love Oliver's. My brother, Charlie, worked there many, many years. The food and the ambiance is A+. Karen and I go have dinner there for special occasions and for no reason at all. We will always miss so many people who used to work there; JT, Hutch, Henry, and many more. The new crew is terrific too. Dave, the owner, has done a good job continuing Oliver's fine dining. We had our wedding reception there! Nobody makes a Manhattan like Lou.

Yelp
Oliver's restaurant is a favorite of ours. I wanted to do something special for my wife's birthday and decided on taking 4 other couples to dinner with us. I contacted Oliver's. They provided us with their chef's table. This table is in a small room off the kitchen that comfortably seats 10. Planning for our gathering was made easy by the staff at Oliver's. Their pastry chef made a wonderful birthday cake. I was able to have appetizers ready for my guests when we arrived. Our server managed to keep the needs and requests of the 10 of us constantly addressed. The evening was flawless. Our server somehow managed to to have all 10 entrees on the table within a minute or two of the first being served. Each of the 10 entrees was perfect and served as ordered. Oliver's made my wife's birthday a memorable evening.

Yelp
We went to Oliver's for my husband's birthday dinner. We were greeted and immediately seated in a very nice circular booth. Our server was very professional, friendly and attentive. We ordered a great bottle of wine Orin Swift Palermo very smooth tasting one of our favorites. We started with the decadence of egg, which was delicious. Next we shared a salad, shrimp cocktail, lobster bisque all were delicious. When we share our soup and salads they always take the time to divide into two separate portions. For our main course I had the sea bass that was fresh and delicious! My husband had the spring pea Agnolotti pasta this was delicious as well. For dessert we shared a chocolate pots de creme. This is one of our favorite restaurants in Buffalo.

Yelp
Went here for a date night with my boyfriend, and it was probably one of the best meals I've ever had. I had oysters, and the lamb with some type of peanut sauce and rice. The lamb was so good, I wanted another. We also got chocolate cake, and their signature spinach bread. The cake was good, and the bread was okay. The service was phenomenal, as were the cocktails we got before dinner. I want to go here every day!

Yelp
Honestly probably the best meal I've ever had! I had the duck and my husband had the special lamb and everything was just absolutely amazing. Service was impeccable and when I made the reservation, I mentioned it was our anniversary and they gave us a free champagne toast which was adorable. If you want a nice date night out, definitely recommend.

Yelp
It had been quite a while since my last dining experience at this restaurant. After this evening, I was left wondering why I waited so long to return. The service from the entire staff was incredible. The staff strived to make this dining experience very personal despite the crowd. A key contributor to this evening was the sommelier, Anthony. He took the entire experience to the next level with his wine knowledge, culinary suggestions and general demeanor. We started with the pear tarts which were very nice. I'm quite a fan of blue cheese, the sweetness of the pears was a nice complement. Next, we had the gazpacho which pretty much "ruined" the rest of the dinner. This was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The blend of cool temperature and the heat of the curry was made mellowed with the flavor of the crab. This is to die for. Next, the Oliver's salad. It was very nice and well portioned. (Split for two) Finally, the duck entrée was a huge knock out. The meat was cooked to perfection and the flavors were perfectly blended. The scallops were on top a delightful bed of creamy couscous that was balanced with corn, watercress and pickled onion. No dessert, unless you are the type that believes a good glass of port wine counts. The restaurant port selection is not lacking and bolsters the already extensive wine list. Leaving our port wine selection in the hands of Anthony was an excellent choice. I highly recommend this restaurant for its atmosphere, service, people, food and wine.

Yelp
We are legacy diners at Olivers. We also used it for almost every major family event as well as Thanksgiving and even Christmas to go during the pandemic. It's hard not to give it five stars because it's probably the best restaurant in town. With the remodel, it's lost some of its charm. While the food is consistently good, I'd love to see a little more fancy and a little more creativity. Not creative spins on the same American fare. Service is always outstanding and so are the cocktails !
