Chef Yun and his staff were absolutely amazing and professional. The passion amongst every individual here shows in their work and I loved everything about my experience! The menu is wonderfully thought out with flavors and textures of all kinds. The fish is exquisitely fresh and melts in your mouth. It is crazy how Chef Yun can make things like a humble steamed egg taste so elevated and warm. I usually don't treat myself out to meals of this caliber but this is a must try.

We were so excited to try Omakase by Yun - after a (minor) scheduling mishap, the restaurant was very helpful and accomodating, and we were finally able to go and the experience was amazing. The level of service is impeccable and the courses all have an intriguing mix of flavors and ingredients, while also incorporating classic techniques. We really enjoyed Chef Yun's descriptions for each course. We have been to other Michelin-starred Omakase restaurants in Atlanta, and we would put the experience here up there with those. Highly recommended!

My experience at Omkase by Yun was absolutely phenomenal. I took my wife there for her birthday, and from start to finish, it was perfect. The staff was incredible—so warm, friendly, and fun. Even made me a specific cocktail that wasn’t on the menu u that we perfect! They really made the atmosphere feel relaxed and welcoming, which was a surprise (in the best way) since I always thought omakase would feel super formal. This was our first omakase experience, and we were buzzing about it until the next morning. The food? Just wow. Every piece of nigiri melted like butter. Chef Sonny was amazing—he helped us pronounce every item on the menu (thankfully!), and never made us feel out of place. If you're on the fence, go. This place is something special.

Omakase by Yun is by far the best Omakase restaurant I’ve ever been in United States. Modern sushi places just fill their sushi with other fancy stuff to spike the price and forget that it’s still “sushi” and its core ingredient. However, Chef Yun’s nigiri is at his core and he is fine-tuning it from there. If you want something to just disappear as soon as you put it in your mouth, this might not be the right place for you but if you appreciate the value of finding flavors within the flavor and its ingredients, you will find an unique food journey here

We've been to a number of omakase around the world, and this is absolutely top. The food, the service, and the atmosphere are top notch. There is a very small but tight-knit community of omakase chefs who deserve to be recognized as leaders, and Yun is one of the select few.

A good time was had by all, yet again, at Omakase by Yun. I have been to this place several times but never had the pleasure of being served by Chef Yun until my most recent visit. He did not disappoint. Food is amazing and service is impeccable. Best Omakase in the metro area, IMO.

I have been dining with Chef Yun since 2021. His omakase is my favorite in Atlanta for many reasons: very high quality food, reasonable pricing, authentic Japanese technique, laid back atmosphere, personable and attentive staff (big shout out to Crystal and Stella!), and Chef Yun pays close attention to my ‘no wasabi’ preference. In all four years of dining with him, there has never been a piece of fish that accidentally included wasabi. His focus and detail-oriented service is top tier. Chef Yun, Stella, and Crystal are all phenomenal. You are lucky to be able to dine with them! I can’t wait to see when they get their first Michelin star.

This was the experience that I've always wanted. The chef was knowledgeable about the food, history, and was even personable! The food was exquisite and more than enough. This will not be the last time they see me.

The staff and service at Omakase By Yun makes me question if I'll enjoy "run of the mill" sushi ever again. Service: best I've ever experienced Atmosphere: fancy yet casual Food: indescribably AMAZING. Worth every penny and then some. Entirely spectacular. From Taylor, king of the bar and master of the playlist, to Chef David and his thoughtful descriptions, impeccable presentation and intimate delivery, and from the first class 17-course omakase menu design to every single insanely perfect bite - this is my new favorite Atlanta dining experience. ObY is housed in an unassuming (almost hidden), tiny spot across from the new Politan Row in Dunwoody (who knew the post-pandemic Perimeter could become this cool?). The female server was superb, and welcomed us into a clean, calm countertop dining area within the stylish but gorgeously simple restaurant. There's a tiny bar that I'd love to sit and sip at, and I hear they're considering pop-up specialty cocktail nights for the future. The music brought such a comfortable and inviting atmosphere, with everything from Metallica to BB King and Stevie Wonder carefully curated to inspire the effortlessly casual but super cool vibe. Give me the heated Toto toilet seat and adorably decorated bathroom and I'll never want to leave... but strict set seating times and the dread of missing one of the incredible omakase courses brought me running back to the table. Favorites: Sawara (hay smoked king mackerel with nori sauce, ginger and chives) - total standout, and Chef David was spot on with his description of the almost garlicky flavor that comes from the ginger/chive combo. Chu Toro (medium fatty tuna with pickles wasabi stems) - meltingly perfect. Chawanmushi (egg custard soup, hokkaido snow crab, shitake, mitsuba & nori sauce) - marry me and take all my money. This is something I could eat every day and still not get enough. Special mention for the kindness the team showed in removing mushrooms from the two courses that terrified me when I saw the menu. Their website is clear that fussy eaters may not be accommodated, and quite rightly so - but they were very thoughtful when they saw we had a mushroom allergy in the party, and I was very grateful that they could make a fungi-free version of the Osuimono and Chawanmushi for me. Very classy. Take me back. ObY is perfection at the Perimeter.

Omakase by Yun is the best omakase spots in town. Whenever someone asks me for omakase suggestions, I always recommend this place. Chef Yun is consistently attentive and serves the best pieces of fresh fish every time I visit, and I've been at least 3 times now. I conveniently always go during winter time (between October and February) so I've only had their winter menu. Always be sure to order an add-on...I always get the Big Mac and leave the restaurant so happy.

Must try experience, well worth the money. The freshest omakase. You might want to make your reservation early on to get a seat cuz they do get busy...

Now this is how you do sushi! I booked the lunch omakase for a birthday gift to myself and it did not disappoint. From the moment you walk in the door, the service is great. The hostess was extremely nice and helpful. She explained everything and when it came to add on she was informative and not pushy. The space is super cute. There is the food bar where the chef is making the sushi. There is also a smaller bar in the back. In the middle is a sitting area with a couch and chairs. The music matched the experience. You can tell this was well thought out. The food! The best sushi I have ever had. The flow of the menu was perfection. From the refresher to the dessert. At the end the chef made sure to talked to each customer and ask about their experience. I can not wait to go back. Run , don't walk, to try this place out. You will fall in love with sushi.

Ends up being quite pricey (around $600 for two, with one person doing sake paring) but it was a pleasant experience nonetheless. They had the cutest Halloween decorations and clean interior design which we enjoyed. Food was all very delicious! No complaints and all good things to say. At the end, you can request for certain dishes more for different prices. All the servers were super attentive and sweet too!

Came back for more & nothing disappointed!! We had Chef David again and he was great! We prefer Omakase by Yun over Omakase Table. Their modern take and flavors are great!

Omakase By Yun is still one of my favorite Omakase places!! First time at their new location located in Dunwoody across from Politan Row & right next to Paris Baguette. There's plenty of parking outside & also parking garage as well. We came for the 13-course lunch Omakase & ofc Chef Yun never disappoints. The quality of the fish was *chef kiss* Chef Yun & his team always delivers with great quality & services! It's a beautiful & cozy place so great for dates & special occasions as well. Def want to come back for their Dinner Omakase (:

Amazing experience at the new opening! Congratulations on the new spot, staff!! Every corner of the restaurant is absolutely stunning! Chef was amazing, food was amazing, & I have no complaints! I love how every Omakase experience is different depending on chef, and Chef yun did a fantastic job. The fish quality was A+ ! It's hard to find such an Omakase GEM in the Atlanta area! The experience and food is absolutely worth every penny. I couldn't recommend this place more.

My husband and I dined here October 27th for a late anniversary dinner, and had an amazing experience. Omakase by Yun was formerly a pop-up, but now has a permanent location in Dunwoody. There are two seatings a night, serving 17 courses, each one meticulously prepared in front of your eyes and explained to you in detail before you enjoy! PRE-DINING You can snag a reservation on Resy for one of two seatings a night; 6:00 or 8:30pm. If you indicate a special occasion, such as an anniversary or birthday, it will be acknowledged by the staff on your menu as well as vocally! I would recommend planning a couple weeks out to snag the day and time slot you prefer. AMBIANCE The restaurant has a very personal, special vibe, seating only at the bar for dining, however there is a small area with a loveseat you might gather for a drink prior to or after your meal. Because the food is so special, I would recommend putting on a nice outfit, however you might double check if they have a required dress code. SERVICE The service was phenonmal, from Chef explaining all the food, to answering questions about their fish delivery and more. Their sommelier was also very great at describing the wine pairings and recommending different wines for those not doing the pairing. F & B The experience consists of 17 courses, however each course is bite-sized so you will be pleasantly full by the end, but not stuffed. Of course however you can add on anything you wish from the back of the menu. We tried one of their add on hand rolls which was amazing but not necessary. GLUTEN FREE TIPS* I indicated I was gluten free when making my reservation. I also called ahead to let them know and they accommodated me just fine. There were a few modifications the chef made but everything I had was delicious and I never felt like I was missing out. *As of November 2021 my reviews are written from a celiac, gluten free perspective. I recommend researching online (like the Find Me Gluten Free app) and calling ahead for your own personal needs.

You absolutely MUST try this experience!! Worthy of Michelin stars. The perfect ambiance, felt like an indulgent escape from the outside world...The chef was fabulous - extremely talented and knowledgeable and also just a very genuine, humble, nice guy. Created the best omakase experience with unique touches to each dish. The cocktails and bartender were superb as well!

We dined at this wonderful restaurant during there second week of opening. The chef had recently left a top notch restaurant to establish this one. The service, food and attention to detail was excellent. I expect this restaurant to make the Michelin guide in the very near future.

Hands down, the best Omakase experience in town! Chef Yun is an artist, and the quality of his pieces is unmatched.

12/27/23 What a fabulous experience! My husband and I came here to celebrate a special occasion and it was truly a 10/10 experience. The entire staff was welcoming and created a very relaxing environment. Our sushi chef, Chef Lam, was incredible in his execution, explanation, and conversation with all guest attending. We did the wine pairing which was very well thought out and presented by the bartender who also offered backgrounds for each selection. He was excellent at checking in on guest, providing outstanding recommendations, and truly wanting an enjoyable experience for all. The environment was cozy and relaxed to truly make the experience more intimate. We could have not asked for a better location to celebrate and enjoy a night out. Standing applause to the head chef in creating the menu, and the staff for their outstanding service. I recommend trying this place before everything is too far booked in advance.

My boyfriend and I have wanted to try an omakase experience for a while and so we went for his birthday. Be sure to reserve your tickets in advance though because they sell out quickly. When we arrived, we were seated at the bar with plastic dividers between each couple which made the experience cozier and more private. Service: 5/5! The sushi chef was very attentive even while busy making sushi for us. He would always give an explanation of each course that we would try. The hostess was also constantly walking around to make sure our waters were filled and that we had enough ginger between each course. Food: 5/5!!!! Everything served was delicious and full of flavor. My favorites were the ménage a quarte, zuke akami, and chu toro. They were all beautifully prepared so each piece was amazing. While this was probably my most expensive meal ever, it was worth the experience.

A WELL-PUT-TOGETHER INTIMATE OMAKASE EXPERIENCE!! this omakase experience was great! upon arriving, it can be difficult to find, but it's in Chirori Yakitori and Kushikatsu (kind of separate but not really). as you enter, you notice that it is really small with only 8 seats! they have plastic separators between parties (due to covid) which was nice. the food was WOW! I've had a couple of omakses and i really enjoyed this one! omakase is pretty limited in Atlanta, so when i heard about omakase by yun i really wanted to try it and it's as good as they say! every dish is nicely executed with such fresh flavors. it's really hard to pin point my favorites as each one was so good. i had to say i really loved all of the tuna dishes, as well as the menage a quarte. i also liked the mozuku (seaweed salad) and shawanmushi (snow crab, shitake, mitsuba, and nori sauce). the dessert was a premium mochi, which was a nice refresher. overall, the service was great and the meal was nicely timed. there were good breaks in between, not too long and not too short. the chef explained each dish as he gave it to you and was lovely throughout the whole dinner. the menu changes seasonally, so I'm excited to try it again in a couple of months!!

Pricey but good value for what it is. I mean it's in a grocery store that used to be a yakitori place. But it's perfect - it's not overly fancy nor inappropriately casual. Like the food and sake, there are really high notes and some mediocre stuff but overall it comes out pretty damn good. High quality selection is to be expected and they mostly got it right. The sashimi is so good that, for some items, I recommend not using the soy sauce and enjoying the subtle flavors. The sake selection is thought out very well but some of the selection was mediocre like you may find at the local H-Mart. However some of the sake was pretty good so overall for the price it was a good compromise. Do your self a favor and get some of the à la carte stuff it's worth it. The boys behind the counter are good and adapt to the customers in front of them. Engaging and entertaining or solemn and professional. Either way, they understand how to work the counter.

Omakase by Yun recently switched from Sri Thai to Chirori Atlanta, and they were doing a special of 15 course omakase for $75. You can have the option to have more fancy fish for another $45. After everything, you are looking to spend $100-160+ pp for the experience. My friend and I made reservation for 6pm on a Sunday night. We arrived a bit early so we had to wait to be seated. I like that they have those safety glass between each party of 2, so I guess you feel a bit safer. Anyways, the highlight of the night for me is the following nigiri: -Anago -Hotate -O toro -Chu toro -Uni Since I have tried both Omakase by Yun and Omakase with Chef Yu, I felt like I had to compare a bit? Both Omakase experience was amazing, but I left fuller after eating at Omakase by Chef Yu. I believe the rice portion is bigger and the cuts of fishes are bigger. Chef Yun's fishes of course were different but there were times where I struggle to pick up the nigiri because the rice were so small. Btw, Chefs prefer you use your hand to experience the full omakase experience so please be mindful! The dessert was a house made lychee sorbet that was really good. I was happy to end with that. Overall, I would definitely come back again and try different Nigiri but hopefully his cuts/rice would be bigger. :)

Chef Yun does it again! You know you're an addict when you keep coming back for more. I have done Omakase with Chef Yun three times and he never disappoints. He changes his menu seasonally so I'm always wonderfully surprised and eager to see what's new in store. For my most recent Omakase experience with Chef Yun, we had the most INCREDIBLE warm egg dish that leaves me dreaming for more. The quality and variety that is served always impresses me. I always enjoy a variety of dishes and high quality protein that leaves me satisfied without feeling overly full or still hungry at the end. Also, the Uni and Wagyu A5 here is AMAZEBALLS. I love that each coarse is perfectly paced and Chef Yun takes the time to explain every dish and he's super knowledgeable about them. I can't wait for the next season so I can come back for more! Highly recommended for a fun date night, girls night, friends outing, or if you're just feeling like treating yourself to something delicious.

First and foremost, this review is strictly for Chef Yun's omakase and not Sri Thai. When making reservations, make sure Sri Thai is aware that you're making reservations for Omakase By Yun and not their restaurant. When I called to place my deposit, one of their team mates who mainly handles this had quit. They were all over the place with handling payment and reservation info. I called at least 3 times to place my deposit; the first few times I was placed on hold or disconnected. They also do not call you to confirm your reservation the day prior, like most restaurants would. After 10/8, there's a price increase of $125/ person for the omakase. Time slots are now 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm. Additional items on the menu is extra; such as the Big Mac. You'll pay half up front. There's no reservation system where you can make this online, you will have to call Sri Thai to place that down. Onto the fun stuff. I've had the pleasure of dining at Sushi by Bou, where Chef Yun was previously, in NY. I already know this was going to be one of the best. The omakase experience here was phenomenal and accommodating. Each course was came out at great timing. We were able to watch him prepare each dish. Also, you can eat with your hands here. He makes his own pickled ginger here, which were cubed up for easy picking. Definitely get the Big Mac. It's wagyu, scallop, uni, with shaved black truffles, made on the spot, wrapped up in seaweed. Delightful! We're excited to hopefully return again.

This is one of the best omakase's I've tried!! And I've tried a good number of them recently. I think I've tried 10 places by now. Chef Yun was trained by Chef Nakazawa in NYC when they earned their Michelin star. Knowing this, I already had high expectations going into the restaurant, but I was still blown away! First off, I like the intimacy of the sushi bar. Chef Yun is the one presenting the sushi to you, one by one, as he describes the contents of each. He's very good about timing, making sure you're not kept waiting too long. Although he's busy making the nigiris one by one, he's also quite easy to talk to! My friend and I just sat back and let Chef Yun lead the way. 20 courses sounds like a lot, but we finished every bite and felt super satisfied by the end. We even added on the "Big Mac" a la carte sushi - it's a roll containing A5 wagyu, Hokkaido scallop, otoro, AND uni!!! What a combo - it's all the favorites of a sushi lover!!! We LOVED this one, but that was expected. I also loved the tuna experience, moving from akami to chu-toro to otoro. Similar to the tuna tasting plate at Nakazawa NYC. And the A5 wagyu nigiri, would go back just for that one!!! A nigiri that pleasantly surprised us, however, was akamutsu. Super clean taste along with elegant presentation. I got the glass of Riesling with my omakase, and it was an excellent pairing! Overall, very impressed with the service and sushi here. If I'm back in Atlanta, I'll need to book another reservation!

Like I've talked about on my page before @arifsiddiqi1 and I celebrate our birthdays each year with an omakase dinner. This year we went to @omakasebyyun inside of @chiroriatlanta and the experience was amazing. Chef Yun was an apprentice at the Michelin rated @sushinazakawa who's chef was the apprentice of Jiro from Jiro dreams of sushi and coming from such prestigious training it was an understatement that I was excited when I first heard that chef Yun was making a shop in ATL last year Omakase dinners are 18 courses so I'm just going to talk about some of my favorite pieces: 1. Kinme-dai: golden eye snapper with lemon juice and seaweed salt. The special part of this was the seaweed salt, it has such a distinct flavor, along with the lemon juice and the richness of this fish it was amazing 2. Mozuku: seaweed salad with lime juice topped with uni - I didn't like uni before but this uni was creamy and went so well with the lemony salad 3. A5 Wagyu Ribeye: lightly seared, topped with garlic soy, the meat itself was so rich, paired with sushi rice was so good 4. Aki Tomago: shrimp and egg cake on top of sushi rice - this is easily the best Tomago I've ever had chef Yun def learned the way of Jiro on this one If you guys enjoy omakase or have never had one before you should definitely check out Omakase by Yun, it's an awesome experience and excellent food.

Can't recommend Omakase by Yun enough. I just got back from 3 months in Japan, eating all the omakases, and I'd put chef Yun menu against any of them any day.

Make your reservations online as there is limited space for each time slot! Atmosphere/service: Omakse by Yun shares a space with the Wagaya grocery store. For parking, they recommend parking along the street next to it and to arrive about 5-10 minutes early so everyone can be seated before starting. It's a small space, everyone is seated around the sushi bar so you can see how the chef prepares each course which is cool. There are plastic barriers in between reservation groups (for COVID) and was one waitress who constantly refilled our water and their homemade pickled ginger if we ran out. Because the group is so small, you really get an intimate experience. Price: $135 per person + tax + tip for 18 courses. Options to add a sake pairing for $45 per person and at the end of the meal you have the ability to repeat any of the courses for an additional a la carte charge. Food: the chef thoughtfully prepares each course. You are basically consistently eating for 2 hours, with small breaks in between each course as he carefully puts it together. Homemade pickled ginger is provided to cleanse your palette in between and you are provided with freshly ground wasabi (so cool!) as needed. Each course just got better and better, you are sure to love them! 1. Sunomono salad - lobster, cucumber, wakame, sambaizu 2. Seasonal sashimi - 2 pieces of 3 kinds with fresh wasabi 3. Menage a troi - kumiai oyster, Japanese uni, ikura, caviar. Simply amazing, so fresh with amazing flavors that just blended together. 4. Zuke akami - marinated lean Bluefin tuna, fresh grated ginger 5. Chu toro - medium fatty tuna with pickled wasabi. One of my favorites, all the fatty tunas literally just melted in your mouth like butter. 6. Otoro - Bluefin fatty tuna seared with truffle sea salt 7. Muzuko - homemade seaweed salad from Okinawa, Japanese uni, and onions 8. Madai - Japanese red snapper with ume plum, shiso and sesame seeds 9. Kinme dai - golden eye snapper, chiba, jp with lemon juice and seaweed sea salt 10. Hotate - Japanese sea scallop with yuzu kosho 11. Uni ama ebi - short spine green sea urchin from Hokkaido with baby shrimp 12. Smoked benizake - hay smoked copper river sockeye salmon, nori sauce, ginger and chives 13. A5 wagyu - a5 miyazaki wagyu beef with garlic soy 14. Toro takuwan temaki - minced tuna, takuwan, onions, and miyabi Kyushu seaweed. The seaweed is crispy and fresh, really made a difference 15. Unagi - barbeque freshwater eel 16. Ube tamago - shrimp, sugar, pinoy purple yam, and fresh farmed eggs. So unique and so fluffy! It almost tasted like a dessert bc of the sweetness from the tamago. You can't really taste the shrimp at all! 17. Chawanmushi - snow crab, shitake and enoki mushrooms, mitsuba and nori sauce. Enjoyed this as our last "savory" course, it's almost like a Korean steamed egg with fixings. It's hot and made me feel like I was eating soup which I loved. 18. Seasonal dessert - yuzu sorbet. Japanese citrus, this was just a refreshing way to end the night.

If I could give more stars to Omakase By Yun I would! It was simply one of the most wonderful dining experiences I've had the pleasure of enjoying. I'm always looking for new places to try since I'm a big foodie. I stumbled on this place via Instagram. I decided to take my best friend on a date here. We both love sushi ! We where not expecting such a mind blowing experience that took our taste buds on a roller coaster ride! The meal was 18 courses [Including Dessert, Nom Nom Nom]. The restaurant only seats 10 Guests total for an intimate experience and allows you to interact with the Chefs. Chef Jonathan is simply an artist when it comes to his trade. He explains every course to you and takes pride in the enjoyment each of his guest experience. There is complimentary parking in the back side of the restaurant. They serve beer , sake , and wine as alcoholic options. So if your looking for a new dining adventure I HIGHLY recommend this place. Do you yourself a favor and come here bc if heaven had a flavors these would be some of them!

This was my second time having Omakase in my life and it was a fantastic experience. For those who love sushi and love unique dining experience, this place is for you. It's intimate, intentional, and unlike any meal you have had in a long time. Yun and his staff truly care for their customer's experience and it shows. From the moment we walked in, we could tell that we were their top priority. We were lucky enough to attend with a group of co-workers, but the bar seats 8 with 2 dining times, 6:00 and 8:00 with all guests booking a seat ahead of time. Yun wastes no time and jumps right into the 18 course menu. He was gracious and kind to explain the various elements of the dishes, which really added to the experience. Most of our group was inexperienced with sushi and fish in general and he took the time to ensure we all appreciated each dish. I think most people are intimated by an experience like this, but please hear me when I say there was no judgment despite our novice group. The sake tasting menu was also excellent and I am so glad that we decided to go that route as the sommelier was fantastic and it truly added to each piece! All of the food was unbelievable, but if I had to pick a piece I enjoyed most I think it would have to be the barbecue eel or the snapper - such unique dishes and really stood out on its own. After the Omakase, they also provide an opportunity to order from the a la carte menu in case you just aren't satisfied yet. Yun and crew were so great and I would recommend it to anyone looking to try something new or to get their sushi fix. I will definitely be back!

I have been here 4 times...and it gets better every time. From the experience, to food. Attentive but not suffocating service, chef Yun's craft in sushi reminds me much of my omakase experience with chef Mitzutani. Being outside of Japan, and lack of access to tsukiji market, the food is well prepared, and delicate to the palate for sushi lovers and sushi snobs. Even my aunt and uncle who are hard to please approves. If your looking to stuff your face with food, this is not the place, but if u are looking for a place that can tickle you refined taste buds on what omakase style dining is, this is a must go-to spot to try. Chef Yun executes really well put together menus, and his heart/soul is shown in his art of sushi. Thanks for always taking care of myself, my friends and my family every time we have been there.

I purchased the 15-course omakase experience for two (2) and added the sake pairing upon arrival to our reservation. The parking is convenient, right across the street. My partner had no idea what plans I made for us so parking at the Ethio-American Insurance Company parking lot left her absolutely clueless. We arrived fifteen (15) minutes early and were not seated until our reservation time. There is not much space at the entrance to wait on your reservation so you shouldn't show up earlier than five (5) minutes specially if you're very strict about being six (6) feet apart from others. Everyone in the facility was wearing a mask including arriving guests and those who were not yet seated. We were seated on the left side corner of the bar and a big, plastic shield separated us from the other couples who were there for the same experience. Chef Yun is sweet, soft spoken, skilled and passionate about his work . Every dish was described and helpful advice was provided when necessary such as, "use your hands for the nigiri dishes." The waitress was fantastic; attentive, quick, sweet, friendly etc. As the omakase took place, she paired all the sake with our dishes and described every sake's origin, notes/flavors and informed us when to best drink the sake (whether before or after a dish or both). The dishes were delicious. The only dish I did not enjoy or at least did not think helped the lineup was the scallop nigiri, considering how good all the other dishes were. A dish I could do without or may consider opting out of having for a fish option instead, is the wagyu beef nigiri. All the fish nigiri had far more flavor and practically melted on my tongue, rather the wagyu took some additional chewing with significantly less flavor. I acknowledge that my taste buds are likely the problem and I'm okay with that. My favorite dish was all the others that were served. The dessert consisted of strawberry mochi ice cream with a strawberry sake pairing. I assumed that two flavors of strawberry was going to be too much in addition to a sweet drink with a dessert. I was super wrong! The strawberry sake was phenomenal and it perfectly cut the sweetness of the strawberry mochi ice cream; They held hands in my mouth. This was our first omakase experience and we loved it. My partner does not eat poultry nor meat and Chef Yun accommodated her dietary restriction without any issues. We will be back soon for more!

Excellent food, perfect service, and good value for an omakase. I especially like the charm of this being inside of a grocery store. Never had an omokasi in a hole in the wall type of environment and it worked! Yun was friendly and knew his art. Sandy was attentive, respectful, and knew e traditions of omakase The only reason I'm not giving it five star is because the A5 prefecture beef was topped with a garlic sauce which I thought was a cop out. I would recommend a simple garlic clove. Also, the last pumpkin dish, the pumpkin spice overpowered every other ingredient. We paired our meal with a six-glass sake tasting. If you can handle the alcohol it's worth doing. If you never had an omacosity before this is a good place to start. Not the best of mikasi I've ever had but very good, and definitely worth the price.

The food at this place is awesome! I recently visited here on 12/21/2020 and it was fabulous. I had the pleasure of enjoying the Omakase experience with some friends and it blew my mind. I honestly haven't had such good quality sushi here in Atlanta and it's making me question the other places I've been too. Before we started, the chef asked if there was anything people were allergic to or didn't prefer. I immediately raised my hand and said sea Urchin...I have tried it a few times before and did not like at all. However, the chef was confident he could change my mind about it and let me tell you he surely did. Every piece of the meal that we were presented with, was perfect. I loved every bite! I also loved how he gave us some background of what he was preparing. I would and have been recommending this place to all my friends and urge anyone who reads this to go see for yourself. If I could give more stars I definitely would.

Omakase by Yun is an outstanding sushi bar with more so of a traditional preparation method, in contrast to the Asian/Japanese fusion restaurants bambooing in the neighborhood. It has been open for a little over a year now (Jan 2022). You can read about chef Jonathan Yun's experience on their website. Based on previous reviews, price has been going up since opening and at the time of writing this review, it is $150 per person. We visited on a Sunday at the 4pm seating with 9 people total sitting at the Food was fantastic, incredibly fresh ingredients prepared with a lot of care. Watching Chef Yun making each of the courses felt like going to an art gallery! Obviously with the 20 courses you also get to try a variety of flavors and cooking techniques. Service was attentive and superb. However, my only dissatisfaction during this dining experience was that the 4pm seating does not get to order the a la carte items off the back of the menu, which are made available for the later groups. The wait staff did let us know ahead of the time though. They were also out of multiple drink options. For this price and advanced reservation, I was expecting a little more. Came here with my girlfriend who won omakase for 2 through Instagram. We drove all the way from Charlotte just to try it and it was well worth the drive! The space is very laid back and attached to a Japanese convenience store which is awesome. Chef Yun and the staff did a phenomenal job making our omakase experience memorable. Everything was delicious and I especially loved the house made ginger. Make sure to order the Big Mac from the A La Carte menu! Glad to see omakase being brought down south.

Chef Yun has since moved to the Chirori space and I've been a couple of times. It's an intimate space and absolutely perfect for a date. It's quiet and you can buy some snacks and sake at Wagaya afterward!

My sister took me to a sushi place in California and there's nothing in GA that I can compare it with. I even tried Uni in Atlanta area and I don't even care for it. I have been to many different places searching for a good Sushi place in GA and I finally found it. This is will be the one and only the one that I want to go for Sushi In Ga. I highly recommend it.

Most amazing sushi experience I've ever had. Chef yun was incredible very dedicated and extremely knowledgeable. The quality of his food is out worldly and the experience we had was beyond amazing. I will be coming back very shortly. Our server was also a doll she was incredible and so sweet. Don't forget the sake pairing it just makes the experience have that extra kick of awesome.

What a great experience! When you first arrive you have to go upstairs and they make sure everyone sanitizes their hands and took everyone's temperature. All the staff were all wearing masks and the tables are all spread out. I definitely felt safely distanced the entire time The omakase experience has 6 seats on the side of the sushi bar right in front of Chef Yun. Since it was early we were the only ones there at the time so we had Chef Yun's complete attention the entire meal. It was so good !! We started with a crab cucumber salad then had some sashimi. Everything was so fresh and the higher quality fish such as toro. There was a soup too. I loved the house made ginger and freshly graded wasabi. The next 13 courses was a mix of all mostly nigiri which started out with the the traditional and lighter fish then ended with the more flavorful bolder marinated fish and wagyu. Chef used his own sauces and marinades which were very unique and tasty. I noticed there was a lot of attention to details such as having a different vinegar seasoned sushi rice depending on whether the nigiri was wagyu vs fish. Overall what a gem ! Loved my meal so my back and I can't wait to come back again.

New to Atlanta from NYC. This place is good... very good. Chef Jonathan is the best. I'm a fan after one visit. We enjoyed the food and our conversation with the Chef. Don't forget Jeff the host. He's very nice and personable. Love this place and will definitely go back again and again!

Each dish served by master sushi chef, Yun was absolutely mind-blowingly delicious. I was highly impressed by his skills and dedication of top notch customer experience from him and their staff. Highly recommend you go try the Omakase or you may result in having a serious case of FOMO in the future. 5 STARS!

Overdue review. Had dinner with sake pairing on 7/9. What can I say? Had a blast. Great food. Good service. Will not be hungry afterwards!

Forget Umi (puke face) Omakase By Yun is the sushi place I was looking for! Small, intimate, great service, good food! Best seat at the counter is the 2 seat at the side fo the counter. That's when you really get to see Chef Yun at work. I'm a little short but I wasn't able to see his work behind the counter. I love how there's a menu displayed next to you so you can follow along because you can sure get lost and lose count from the 16 (?) course menu. We found the price to be very reasonable for the food and experience. We'd def go back for more!

By far, one of the best omakase experiences I've had. Chef Yun really mastered his craft and shows as he is preparing each course. Very personable and worth it!

It's a diamond in the rough. Very intimate setting and the chef and hostess were just fabulous. The food?! Was beyond amazing.

Absolutely wonderful! Everything tasted fresh and was all from either a different state or country! Price was about $100/head excluding taxes & tips! But reservations must be made ahead of time and a credit card with a deposit of $68/head will be made at the time when you call in for a reservation! Will definitely come here again and highly recommend!

We had the most incredible experience with the Omakase. I've always been your typical uneducated sushi eater, leaning towards philly rolls, etc. My eyes were completely opened to the art that sushi can be and how delicious some of the other types are. My husband and I cannot wait to go back!

We came here for omakase ($100/person before the price increase) and it was delish! The fishes were very fresh and high quality. I love how Chef Yun made his homemade ginger cubes (juicy and a bit crunchy). Make sure to call and make reservation in advance with Chef Yun. They did required a deposit. Definitely would like to come back when we're in town again!

Chef Yun is a true artist. Our favorite experience and meal in the city. Definitely a must visit.
