From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every detail had been thoughtfully and intentionally planned. Kendra welcomed us with genuine warmth, setting the tone for the evening, and we were promptly greeted by Terrell with a perfectly curated welcome bubbly. Chef Robin and and Guest Chef Christian then guided us through an exceptional culinary journey, seamlessly weaving their personal experiences and passion into each course. The sushi was exquisite—immaculately prepared, beautifully presented, and balanced in a way that showcased the purity and quality of the fish. Each bite felt deliberate and refined. The fish collar was a standout: rich, tender, and deeply flavorful, prepared with a simplicity that allowed the natural character of the fish to shine. A rare Japanese melon followed, offering a delicate sweetness and freshness that was both unexpected and memorable—a perfect palate reset that felt luxurious and special. The evening concluded with a milk bread dessert that reimagined French toast in the most elegant way. Comforting yet elevated, it struck the perfect balance between indulgence and finesse, leaving a lasting impression long after the final bite. An unforgettable experience from start to finish—thoughtful service, inspired chefs, and a truly remarkable meal that felt both personal and extraordinary.

It’s a legit sushi experience. I like how the seasoning of shari, that acidity is so balanced with the fattiness of the fish. The melon, is melting in my mouth. It would be better to have some beverages to refresh the mouth coz when layers of umami build up, you need something refreshing as an interlude. I liked the paring in the additional course which was doing what I expect. I would love to visit it again 🧑‍🍳 wanna learn how to make sushi and 🥹wish me to make more money! 10/10 recommended!

Wow! Unforgettable dining experience! From the food to the hospitality, I’m already dreaming of my next visit! We did the lunch omakase and it was so satisfying, I didn’t leave hungry!

This place is a love letter to food. With only 6 seats, the setting is intimate and the food is phenomenal. Chef Robin's love and reverence for the ingredients really stands out in every small detail. The sake pairings by sommelier Terrell were inspired and delightful. Is it expensive? Absolutely. But it's a splurge worth saving for - I'd rather come here once a year than order out from or go to a mid tier restaurant 10-12 times in a year. It's an expirence to savor and remember.

The experience beginning to end was amazing, I can’t believe we have something like this in Charlotte! Every ingredient was thought through and high quality. Chef Robin was so pleasant and so skilled. He cared about each detail, from plating to pairing to explaining how to eat the food. It made for the perfect birthday celebration and felt like a once in a lifetime experience. My husband and I agree it is well worth it!

Quite the experience. As good or better than any sushi Ive ever had. Not the kind of sushi you get at a typical restaurant. Amazing fish selections and preparation. Watching Chef prepare each course reminds you of the art that can be food. Since we were just visiting the Charlotte area for the day we felt so lucky to have found available seats for the two of us. When we come back to CLT, this place will always be on the list.

I came here for dinner spending $1,350 for three people. I enjoyed the experience overall. I love that the setting is more intimate, but myself and my guests felt like we were being watched and hovered over the whole time. There is a server that wipes your plate after each piece is eaten, and I honestly did not like that. I felt like I was rushed to eat every piece because she was standing right behind you waiting for you to eat so she could wipe the plate. I thought that the sushi would’ve been freshly cut in front of us due to the price but they were precut and put in containers that were pulled out and served. Good idea, but not worth the price to me..

Good food, but not worth the price. The dishes were well crafted, but overall it didn't provide the unique/high end experience I was expecting. My favorites were the bluefin tuna and king salmon. The musk melon for dessert was AMAZING. So sweet and so juicy! One of the best dining experiences in CLT. We came for lunch which is ten courses and lasts 1-1.5 hours. Our menu had fish from all around the world and included two starters, eight nigiri (one of which was A5 wagyu), and a complimentary piece of the world's most expensive melon aka musk melon. Watching Chef prepare each dish at the intimate six seater bar was part of the fun. His passion comes through in the food and every single thing we ate was delicious. We love Prime in Ballantyne so this was no surprise. Next up - the yakitori omakase at Nusa.

I have not yet visited, but they were at the Charlotte StreEats event yesterday. And in case anyone was wondering how Omakase can charge what they do for the Sushi Dining Experience... that scallop dish provided the answer. My taste buds felt like they had gone deep sea diving (NUDE) the minute it hit my tongue! It was amazing

Definitely best place I've tried in Charlotte so far. The quality of food was amazing as expected. The atmosphere was fancy but welcoming. The service won me over! Our waiter was super friendly and hilarious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone reading this.

I am not a religious man, but I firmly believe that as fish live, they dream of becoming sushi at Omakase by Primefish. It is their mecca, their nirvana. Primefish represents the pinnacle of a life well lived. Primefish honors this life, giving it meaning, purpose, and recognition. I have dined at Primefish at least 27 times, beginning with their pop-ups and attending quarterly, as well as frequently enjoying their lunches when time permits. I have been beyond impressed and moved--not only by their sushi but by the audacity of introducing a wine pairing with such perfect execution, further cementing their Michelin-star-worthy experience. Their Ultimate Wine Pairing is a pitch-perfect crescendo to each bite, unveiling an additional layer of flavor. As you can tell, I am beyond impressed with Chef Robin. I marvel at his creativity, his nuanced dishes that achieve perfection in flavor, and his dedication to his craft, delivering these exceptional dishes time and time again. I look forward to your first Michelin star--see you soon!

Everything was impeccable. The wine pairings with the offerings were amazing. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

Was an incredible experience! The food, the wine and sake, and the service were top notch. This place deserves a Michelin star.

We made a reservation for lunch omakase and, by an honest mistake, went to the other PrimeFish location in Ballantyne. Despite calling multiple times to reschedule or arrange a later seating, the hostess eventually called back but refused to accommodate us. Her only suggestion was to try to make it to the correct location--45 minutes away--an impractical and dismissive solution. When we asked about rescheduling, she pointed to their rigid 72-hour cancellation policy. This policy is far stricter than what we've experienced at other high-end restaurants. For a restaurant branding itself as upscale, this lack of flexibility and unwillingness to work with customers is disappointing and unacceptable. Customer service should be a top priority in this tier of dining. If this is how they treat customers on the phone, I hesitate to imagine the service during the meal. With so many phenomenal sushi options in Charlotte that actually value their guests--like O-Ku, Pisces, Hestia, or even the other PrimeFish location--I strongly advise against making a reservation here. This experience in our case was non-existent and a complete letdown. Happy birthday to me, minus $300.

This was one of the best meals I've ever had and probably top 1-3 omakases and I've tried about 30 or more across various cities. I was just stunned by the quality of the fish, the rice was perfection and it comes with alcohol too. It was just insane. Also great value for what it is!!!!

Phenomenal! My husband treated me to this amazing experience for our anniversary, it was worth every penny! Our standards are high especially when it comes to sushi and this hit every mark! I was a little nervous not being in control of what I was going to eat, but I tried things just probably would never had ordered on my own and now I can say I would eat these items with no hesitation. It was very hard to decide which was my favorite course, I'm torn between the scallop with caviar, soft shell crab or Wagyu with truffles. The entire experience was pleasurable, Chef Robin, his wife and the sommelier, were all attentive, had wonderful conversations with us, very knowledgeable, recommended other places for us to try. All in all this was probably the best dining experience I have ever encountered. Well done Chef!

The team behind Prime Fish opened a new location for their omakase experience in Charlotte, which is the first Edomae style omakase in North Carolina. I've been to several omakase by the Prime Fish team but I'm proud to say the new experience is one of the best omakases I've experienced globally. It's definitely in my top 3. (It's so good I went twice this month - oops). This experience is not for everyone though. It is tailored to sushi connoisseurs, who would really appreciate the quality. Itamae Robin flies most of the fish in from Japan, along with other key ingredients, like the rice, vinegar, and wasabi root. Even the hand painted dishware comes from Japan. Of course, this quality comes at a cost. The experience starts at $300 per person. The space itself is very traditional. Filled with natural wood, the design is clean, simple, and intimate. The restaurant will offer two seatings a night, where up to 8 people can enjoy 16 blissful courses. The menu changes seasonally to showcase the best fish available, so depending on when you go, the menu may feature anything from Rosemary Smoked Otoro to Black Sea Pearch on Uni Rice to braised Giant Pacific Octopus to A5 Wagyu topped with Uni, Black Truffle and Caviar. (The A5 Wagyu even has a certificate of authenticity, complete with serial number). Reservations are made through Tock - making it super easy to book. You prepay in full, which is nice, so you don't have to think about anything during the meal. If you can manage a reservation though, you'll be treated to an incredible show of culinary genius, with some of the best quality fish you've ever eaten. It's also important to note that itamae Robin is a certified Sake adviser, which is like a sommelier for sake. While alcohol is an additional cost (selections made while dining), chef Robin has curated the perfect collection to pair with his creations. To make a long story short, for anyone as obsessed with sushi as I am, I highly recommend this experience!!

The finest restaurant in Charlotte. The price is extreme ($300 prepaid without drinks), but you get what you pay for. Chef Robin chooses the best ingredients, and he prepares them impeccably. There is nowhere else in town that serves sushi of this quality. Highlights of my visit were the tempura soft-shell crab, the wagyu yakitori, the o-toro, and the anago.

We had a lovely evening with Chef Robin at Omakase. He was very engaging and taught as a lot through every course. I will say, there were far too many courses. It was definitely excessive IMO. Chef Robin took extra attention to detail like making substitutions when something wasn't exactly the way he wanted it. Although the experience was unique, many flavors used were repetitive and it would've been nice to have more variation. The restaurant itself is very small and intimate. The staff there (which was one other gentleman) was very attentive.

Beautiful ambience, amazing food and remarkable service. The place has a soothing set-up, amongst the best Sushi exp. me and me Sushi expert friend had, I will be there again and recommend this place.

Transcendent. Unique in Charlotte and prob only one other sushi place north of Orlando and south of DC this good (Hayakawa in Atl.) If you like sushi - not the crap Americans think of as sushi - a true treat. Expensive but worth it and a true experience. We'll worth the price for the quality. Very thoughtful and a real gem. If you've ever wanted to try the real thing (think no rolls) this is it.
