Nestled on 11 picturesque acres, this elegant 1930s hotel offers luxurious rooms, delightful dining, and a serene pool amidst superb service.
"You don’t need to be a kid, or have a kid, to have a good time at this tea. The Omni Shoreham serves theirs in a room devoted to Alice In Wonderland and the Mad Hatter’s whimsical Afternoon Tea—there’s even a croquet game set up on the lawn adjacent to the tea room. Splurge for the Queen of Hearts Menu ($106), which includes extra savory pastries and a glass of Champagne. Pricing for kids is $40, unless they’re under six—then they’re free." - madeline weinfield

"The hotel’s heated pool, hot tub, and 11-acre gardens used to be only accessible to guests and members with seasonal passes, but day passes are now available this year ($50). The renovated outdoor destination, lined with lounge chairs and literally shaped like a splash of water, is open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Food and beverage are available to purchase from the Omni’s Robert’s Restaurant and Morsel’s Coffee Shop. The Pool Bar is open 11 a.m. daily. Omni also takes advantage of its sizable pool with aquatic workout classes a few days a week ($25). ." - Tierney Plumb
"Finding sanctuary—and a sophisticated one, at that—anywhere near the stress-inducing capital sounds like a pipe dream; but the Omni Shoreham Hotel, located in the quieter, more residential neighborhood of Woodley Park, has time and again proven itself an urban oasis. It's little wonder society heavyweights have been flocking to the mammoth, Renaissance palazzo-inspired Omni Shoreham Hotel since it opened in 1930, including Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who hosted his first inaugural ball here; and in 1941, the New York Yankees Manager Joe McCarthy and teammates of Joe DiMaggio surprised the Yankee Clipper with a celebration in honor of the slugger’s 56-game hitting streak. But what's the draw? Politicians and partiers alike can't seem to resist the draw of the estate-like hotel's 11 surrounding acres of calm, or its sprawling, resort-style pool, flanked by lounge chairs and expertly-manicured shrubbery. Robert's Restaurant, too, hearkens back to the glamorous days of old, with its grand chandeliers and ruched curtains. If you're lucky enough to dine here, order the house special, dating all the back to 1956—the Shoreham Crab Cake—served with a sweet remoulade."
"Omni’s Spring Savings offer is crystal clear: At the chain’s participating hotels and resorts, guests can now save 20 percent on bookings of three nights or longer."
