"Don’t be intimidated by the dramatic entryway with dripping wax candelabras. Ophelia is a very welcoming modern Mexican spot with notably great service in the often-overlooked Olympic Village part of the city. Come for the solid margarita program (especially for Margarita Monday deals) and on-point creative cocktails in a busy room decorated with folk art. Stay for the excellent skirt steak tacos with roasted bone marrow and deliciously complex burned salsa, or the popular weekend brunch with punchy chilaquiles. Don’t skip the tres leches with pistachio crumble and lime-infused whipped cream." - Nikki Bayley

"Stunning murals, colorful carvings...Ophelía is quite literally a bright spot in Vancouver's Olympic Village. It's always packed, so make a reservation. Of course, if you didn't plan ahead, a bevy of special margaritas will help you pass the time. Chef/co-owner Francisco Higareda prepares traditional pan-regional Mexican fare just as his mother, Ophelia, did. Corn-crusted octopus sided by cilantro rice, braised kale and zucchini is bested with a Oaxacan mole blanco that's rich and creamy. A trio of tacos rewards diners with delectable ingredients piled high atop locally made tortillas. End things with that ultimate classic—tres leches cake.Weather permitting, the outdoor patio is the spot to while away the night." - Michelin Inspector

Very nice interior and atmosphere. Guacamole appetizer was good. Molcajete presentation was very nice but the meat was not edible, maybe the toughest meat I have ever had. Told the waiter but did nothing?? No credit or even complimentary dessert. Very disappointing. Enchilada's were very good and the Flan dessert was exceptional. After dinner the plates were left on the table for over 20min. Would try again but service needs to be better and at least do something, when there is a legitimate issue.

If the sauce is spicy, then it hasn't been white wash to the Canadian population. That was your warning ⚠️ Food tastes very good. You can come and expect to get the real deal. From tortillas soup to tacos, ceviche, green mole, octopus, etcetera. Drinks are very well served as well. Don't be scared to order, but be aware that the salsa will be the real deal. Staff was friendly from the door until the end of our visit. It has a lot of Mexican paraphernalia, but it doesn't really feel mexican, a lot of wine bottles on the walls. The muusic was a mix of all mexican pop music.

Had a great meal here on New Year’s Eve. Amazing prawn ceviche and ahi tuna starters. The belly pork was good, but I would have liked the skin to be crispy. Trio of f pork tacos were good. Overalll, good restaurant- would go again

I recently had the pleasure of dining a **Ophelia**, and I must say, this place exceeded all my expectations! The atmosphere is absolutely incredible – I fell in love with the interior design the moment I walked in. There's a stunning artwork on the wall that really catches your eye, and it’s become a signature piece that everyone associates with the restaurant. As for the food, it's nothing short of **delicious**. Every dish was bursting with flavor, and the presentation was top-notch. If you're going, you absolutely must try the "Taco de Arrachera Y Bone Marrow" – it’s an unforgettable dish, cooked to perfection. Overall, Ophelia offers a perfect blend of amazing ambiance and outstanding food. I can't recommend it enough!

First time to check out this restaurant and we were absolutely very impressed with the food, drinks and the ambiance. I have to say this is the best Mexican food I have ever had in Vancouver. The elevated approach definitely brings elevated experience. Will come back again! 👍👍

The food was good, but I was expecting it to be even better. That said, we still really enjoyed our dishes, and I must mention that the customer service is outstanding!

Date night with the Mrs. I had the bone marrow tacos and the beef was tough and chewy. Lots of flavour though. Usually the dish comes with 1/2 bone but they said there wasn’t much marrow so they gave me a whole bone. Good cocktails and service was on point. Wife said her fish tacos were tasty.

Nothing short of transcendent. Impeccable cocktails, the tacos are a true religious experience. Huevos Divorciados to die for. Lovely service. We sat in silence, devouring and savouring authentic food.

Yelp
The first time I came here was on a first date with my boyfriend and this time when I visited them was as a fiance to that same boyfriend. Came here on a Sunday night right after my fiance just proposed to me! It only made sense to come to Ophelia after! It is located in Olympic Village and has a beautiful indoor space! The first I came here they had loud music playing which made it a bit hard to talk but this time when I visited them, their music was a good volume. We told our server the whole story behind why we are there and she was so sweet! She got us a flute of champagne to celebrate, offered to take lots of photos for us, and also gave us a complimentary cake to celebrate. We got their SALSA MOLCAJETEADA to share which came with a burnt and medium heat salsa served with corn tortilla chips. Their chips are sooo good! You can taste the freshness. The salsa were also amazing, so authentic. For main, I got their ENCHILADAS GRATINADAS with chicken and my partner got the same but with mushrooms. OMG! The Enchilada was soooo soft and creamy!! We couldn't get enough of it. I would highly recommend try it out! Can't wait to be back and celebrate another occasion!

Yelp
Another Michelin-guide restaurant, Ophelia serves Mexican dinners with weekend brunch options. I've visited twice to try out both menus and have some mixed feelings. Would say that their seafood options are better than beef for me. Really like the gothic and dark ambiance though it can be hard to talk over dinner (brunch was way more quiet). Service was pretty friendly. Chicharron de Rib Eye ($24) 6/10 Ribeye with guacamole and Habanero refried beans, served with corn tortilla. I have mixed feelings about this one. Love the guacamole and refried beans, however steak was pretty tough.... Volcanes de Arrecharra ($22.5) 7/10 Despite also being beef, this one was somehow more tender (wish I had gotten this one instead). The corn chips and pickles also helped make the dish lighter, balancing the cheddar cheese. Pulpo en Mole Blanco ($44) 8/10 One of the better octopus dishes in Vancouver. Crispy crunch from the corn batter, paired with fragrant cilantro rice and creamy white mole sauce. The chorizo, kale, and zucchini also managed to complement the whole dish. Grilled 16oz Cache Greek Ribeye ($74) 5/10 The chorizo and cheese potato tasted great for the first few bites, and afterwards got really overwhelming. Steak was okay.... Happy they cooked it correctly to rare but wasn't anything special otherwise. The villa amuhada sauce was great, but I would say get their non-beef menu. Tres Leches Cake ($10) 8/10 As a fan of milk based desserts, I never missed a chance to get tres leches cake, which was soaked with three types of milks and rum, served with berry compote and lime whipped cream pistachio crumbles. Since the actual cake was extremely sweet, the zesty berry and lime actually worked really well to cut through the richness. Prawn Ceviche Tostada ($18.25) Didn't try since I'm allergic to shrimp. Heard good feedbacks from people though.

Yelp
Food and ambiance was great ! If not of the shitty service we had from our server it would have been a nice experience . Before we ordered I informed him that we will be using a gift card which is always a protocol . But it doesn't mean we will not tip you , we work in the same industry and we know how gift cards or vouchers go. First he made a mistake on the food we ordered . Then the bill came but he have not removed the wrong food . Then when he came back he doesn't know how to do the gift card transaction, after that he totally ignored us, that I have to go in front and look for the manager .

Yelp
If I want a good margarita, this is the place. I've only gone for happy hour a few times and ordered the Ophelia happy hour margarita. Their Tiger prawn ceviche tostada is very tasty, layered with flavors, comes with a crispy tortilla and that habanero crema. Also ordered the happy hour vegan taco which was also pretty good. It was a guajillo marinated portobello mushroom and that spicy almond sauce. The only thing none of us thought was that flavorful was the guacamole (not on HH menu) and the only reason we ordered it was because we thought they serve in the mortar & pestle and made it fresh at the table but they did not. I want to go back for their happy hour on Mondays as they have more margaritas as eyeing those spicy margs as they make me happy.

Yelp
LOVE THIS PLACE! I wish I lived in Vancouver this would become my go-to restaurant, but alas I live on the other side of the continent. Everything on the menu was so well thought out and you can tell how much care and detail went into each dish. There was nothing I didn't like. Our server was really sweet and attentive. The decorations were really cool and I love the overall vibe. My favorite thing was the tuna tostada. It was so delicious.

Aggie E.

Yelp
This was for dine out! The portions were pretty small and there was nothing that special about the food. However I have heard good things about this restaurant so I will definitely be back! Service was prompt and friendly. I find it hard to judge a restaurant by its dine out.

Yelp
Went here for a birthday dinner. Made the reservation weeks in advance and they were unprepared to host a party of 8 so then moved 2 High tops together. We were crammed together no space on the table to put appetizers in the middle and share plates so we had to pass around appetizers. Waitress was annoyed I brought it up and brushed it off. Waitress just didn't seem to have people skills and just seemed annoyed to do her job. Food was good except the bone marrow that was burnt somehow. At the end there was a mandatory gratuity added which normally I would have had removed over the terrible seating and mediocre service but I didn't want to make an issue at a birthday dinner. I can't see myself ever going back and definitely not recommending this place to anyone just such a poor overall experience there's so many better places to go on vancouver why subject yourself to a substandard experience.

D F.

Yelp
Can't choose 0 stars . They don't return phone calls. I tried for 2weeks to make a reservation and never got a response. We won't be going back !!!

Yelp
We came on a Saturday for happy hour and dinner. There is a 2 hour time limit on every table. We ordered the prawn tostada, taco cochinita, taco carnitas, octopus mole, grill ribye and the tacos de arracherra y bone marrow. Overall the food was definitely on the salter side. The taco cochinita and taco carnitas were okay. I wouldn't order them again but between the two the cochinita was definitely better. The carniras was too dry and too salty. Nothing special. The cochinita was very wet (almost too wet for the taco) and also a bit too salty. But the flavour was better than the carnitas Definitely get the prawn tostada. It is really flavourful and stimulating to the pallet. There are lots of prawns. The sauce has a bit of a kick to it. The jalapeños balance the whole thing out. I would come back during happy hour to get this again. Skip the tacos with bone marrow the grilled skirt steak was okay but there was so little bone marrow in this dish it was really disappointing. The pulpo en mole Blanco aka the octopus was really good. So tender and soft. There was a sweetness from the white mole and the cilantro gave it that savory punch. Grilled 16 cache creek ribeye was beautiful. The ribye was so tender and soft. Lacked a bit of beef flavourful. The potatoes were the perfect accompany along with the roasted garlic. Overall the dishes of the night had to be the ribeye, the octopus and the prawn tostadas. If I were to come back again I would definitely get the prawn tostadas. Next time I would like to try the queso con chorizo as it looked good. Would recommend for happy hour. Be warned the food can be a little salty. The price is also not cheap but for the quality of ingredients it's understandable

S S.

Yelp
Delicious. Food was great. Guacamole was yummy. Servers were friendly. Drinks amazing. Would recommend

Christina L.

Yelp
I've been here many times for brunch and dinner and enjoyed the food overall. It's like fine dining Mexican food. The salad with tuna was excellent. The only disappointing thing was the steak tacos. Too salty and the meat was too tough. The bone marrow they gave me was completely empty. Kind of felt like a scam lol. Ambiance is really cool. Service is always friendly.

Steve L.

Yelp
Enjoyed the delicious food at this restaurant. Started with the prawn cerviche which was very good. Enjoyed the tacos and the skirt steak. Drinks were fun and fruity and the service was on point. I would not only recommend this restaurant and I would also return and eat there again.

Tela G.

Yelp
OMG this place is amazing! Service was top notch and food was really delicious! We ordered five dishes to share and two margaritas.... It was all very good! Flavours were out of this world! We had tacos with a spicy mole sauce, the octopus, ling cod, steak and seafood fajitas, and bone marrow....all was absolutely delicious! They even threw in a complimentary dessert for my daughter as we were to celebrate her 20th birthday everything was nicely plated and proportioned. Some of the nice places we have been to have really gone downhill these last few years so this was a pleasant surprise. We will be back for sure and I am just in shock they would even throw in a free dessert for my daughter. That speaks volumes about this place! We will definitely be back. This is a New Mexican favourite for us! The restaurant is really nice and where we sat, it was quiet and quaint.

Heize C.

Yelp
Ambiance is nice and chill, taco's were mediocre as i've honestly had better taco's than this before, the ling cod was delicious! The service was friendly but not 100% attentive! I wouldn't come back here unless if I lived in this area...

Jenny L.

Yelp
I made a reservation online and it was pretty convenient. Finding a booking wasn't an issue! I was served tortillas and a variety of sauces as a appetizers. There was about 3 tortillas, it wasn't anything special. I wasn't too hungry so I just ordered the Trio de tacos & Tacos de arracherra y bone marrow. What I liked is that the amount of meat in the Trio de tacos is sufficient. Each taco is different! The flavours are not bad. For the Tacos de arracherra y bone marrow, I feel like flavours are not too outstanding. There's not too much meat in regards to the bone marrow. The service was not bad, the server came and check up on my table a couple of time. However the price is a bit too much for what it's worth. Overall, I think Ophelia is more of a place to order drinks and a snack and for people to catch up with friends.

Josephine W.

Yelp
Ophelia is elevated Mexican cuisine. The space is beautiful with art on the walls and thoughtful decor. They have quite a few items on the menu that are meant to be share plates. Service was a bit slow when we went at around 5pm (during happy hour) although they were not very busy. We decided to share the bone marrow tacos, grilled octopus, enchiladas and churros for dessert. The octopus was flavourful (a tad salty) but well textured. The enchiladas was their take on it; it's not a traditional enchilda. We prefer the traditional enchiladas baked and rolled in tortilla shells. Bone marrow with the steak tacos was delicious. Recommend trying it if you are looking for a more creative take on Mexican food.

H H.

Yelp
There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed our experience tonight. I had the roast chicken and it was cooked perfectly, the rice accompanying was very good and cooked right, I didn't care for the mole sauce on the bottom but that's a personal preference and not their fault, the service was good and accurate, the lights were being dimmed making it more cozy. My partner had the enchiladas with chicken and I'll go in again just for that because it was delicious! The coffee at the end was good too and you can't go wrong with churros!! Definitely a place I'd recommend. Muy bueno!!

Matthew D.

Yelp
Ophelia was a superb dinning experience, the food came out quick and was amazing. My personal favourite was the Tuna Tostada. All the had wonderful flavours, tasted fresh and I recommend this place to everyone. The service was phenomenal, Erik was outstanding being efficient, giving great recommendations and giving us nothing but 10/10 service. The atmosphere for the restaurant was cozy, Ophelia makes an excellent date night spot or special occasion. Ophelia was great and I can't wait to come back soon

Paris S.

Yelp
Went for brunch on a Sunday. Not that busy around 1pm which was nice! All of the decorations and wall art were GORGEOUS. Service was great and food was even better! Had some margaritas and a few dishes and really enjoyed it! I don't know if the cost was necessarily worth it but if you want to try out a New Mexican place it's definitely worth it. I'll definitely be back to try some other dishes and will recommend to my friends!

Justin K.

Yelp
What was formally known as Wildtale, is now an amazing Mexican restaurant with one of the best bone marrow taco appetizer I've had! If you are use to having street tacos, this place takes it up a notch with some fine dining upgrades. The ambiance is dark and elegant. Great place for a date or to catch up with a group of friends outside on the patio. I went with a group of friends and shared everything. We all ordered a couple bone marrows, trio de tacos and lots of tequila shots. The waitress was very attentive and friendly. As COVID rules are still in place, I would recommend calling in to book a table as it can book up quickly. Located in Olympic village, it's all pay parking unless you park across the street a couple blocks in. Great thing is if you end up having dinner early and are still thirsty, you can enjoy some drinks at Tap & Barrel, Brewhall or Craft which are all walking distance.

Jennifer J.

Yelp
The service was very slow. It took me asking three servers to find out what happened to the drink I ordered. The food, I honestly didn't like most of it. The tacos were very oily and messy with way too much sauce. The meat was tuff. The squid was okay except it had a layer of soggy mushy underneath that kinda ruined it for me. The ceviche toastada was really good tho. I preferred this restaurant when it was Wild Tail as it has the same nice interior. I would not be in a hurry to come back

Stephanie J.

Yelp
Got the chips and salsa, trio of tacos, and Animo cocktail! All very delicious. Would recommend getting the mezcal for the experience. Very good service and super cool interior as well!

Natalie T.

Yelp
I have not had such an off putting meal that tainted the majority of my dining experience. I would give this place 2.5 stars. The ambiance is gorgeous and the servers are friendly. However based mostly on food, the food overall was unremarkable. There were some decent dishes such as the octopus entree (it was very tender) and the shrimp ceviche tostado. However the dish that ruined my evening was the disgusting bone marrow. Never in my life have I had such awful bone marrow. The smell was so off putting...there was a game-y smell. I couldn't even take a bite of it. We were hoping our server would notice and ask how it was....however since the marrow came out in the second half of our dinner, there was no quality check. The first half was ok...minus the complimentary tortilla (it was stale). I wasn't going to complain about something that was free...but that was a sign that this place is clearly not serious about food. The passionfruit margarita was fine and the trio tacos were fine. Nothing special...I expected a lot more from this place because the food is not cheap...you are better off getting delicious and more authentic Mexican food elsewhere in the city (I am happy to provide recommendations all across town and that are not as expensive). If you just want a place to have fancy drinks and something light to eat/you don't care about food...then this is the place for you! I am not coming back and I would go as far as telling anyone I know/even strangers to not waste your money and taste buds.

Vincent S.

Yelp
Ophelia had a great selection of mexican foods for a great price. I got the 5 tacos which was an easy favorite to share with multiple people if you want to try a bit of every item. I also got the passionfruit margarita. It was a decent cocktail but a bit on the sour side, if you prefer something a bit more sweet one of the other cocktails may be more suited for you

Sangeetha M.

Yelp
My new favourite spot! Everything was on point. The location is great, super easy to get to. I made a booking online about 20 minutes before getting there with no issues. I just missed happy hour, it ends at 5:30pm. The atmosphere of the restaurant is nice. I like the details like the melted candles around and wall. Up beat music in the background too. By 7pm it got busy considering it was a Tuesday. Our server was very knowledgeable. I had a hard time choosing a drink and he recommended the Blood and Smoke based on what I said I like and it definitely hit the spot. I later tried the Avion blanco which tasted good, had cucumber rolled around the glass which was an interesting presentation, but not as tasty as the Blood & Smoke. The server also mentioned a new spicy margarita that is not yet on the menu which I tried a bit of. It was interesting but I don't really like spicy drinks. Service was amazing, the food and drinks came really fast. The octopus was way better than I thought. The sauce was a bit too spicy for me. The bone marrow tacos were delish! Lots of meat and very filling, but there was a lot of sauce on top. The bone marrow was a bit of a ripoff... barely anything as you can see in the pic. Tuna tostadas were loaded with tuna! For dessert I had the tres leches cake that is a must try! The whip cream was a bit much but the rest was sooo good! There are a few other items on the menu that I want to try so I'll definitely be coming back here.

Shannon K.

Yelp
Probably one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while! We came during happy hour and we're still able to make a reso. We ordered: Margaritas: SO good, not too sweet and so pretty! Steak and bone marrow tacos: SO good and very filling. The tacos were SO flavourful and I'm obsessed with bone marrow. I just wish they'd give you a bigger piece. Grilled octopus: This reminds me of Mexico when I'd order a whole grilled octopus! It doesn't compare to the fresh octopus there but it was so fricking good. Churros: AUTHENTIC! The texture was really good, crispy outside and soft inside. I would reorder everything I got this time. I was so full and satisfied, can't wait to come back and try other stuff!

Michael G.

Yelp
Came here to try since like one of the popular place in town. Happy hour food is okay.

Wilson C.

Yelp
Sorry no more pic too busy drinking and eating. Was there at bunch and happy hour time on Sunday. Just want to say the shrimp tacos and margarita are excellent!

Sally C.

Yelp
One of the best mexican places I've been to in Vancouver, with amazing ambiance and delicious food & drinks! The bone marrow steak tacos were to die for, having a unique slight charcoal-y scent, perfect paired with the creamy sauce and rich bone marrow. The ratio of meat, sauce, to tortillas was perfect too. The octopus was another star of the show, sitting on a bed of super creamy and umami-filled risotto. The outside is deep fried to perfection while the inside is still tender. I do wish the octopus itself was slightly more chewy, but this is up to personal preference. As for the drinks, both cocktails we got were super fruity and refreshing- perfectly for those who prefer their drinks on the lighter side!

Lindsay C.

Yelp
I have food allergies and have eaten at every nice restaurant in this city. Never a problem. But the Chef here was unfortunately arrogant and not willing to make any small tweaks like omitting aioli or cheese, or swapping a side out so I could eat the dish. I ended up convincing him to let me have the ceviche without the crema, after a very awkward, disappointing conversation and my experience was that I was made to feel like a nuisance and that my need to modify was insulting to him. A lot of people can't eat dairy or gluten or eggs, get with the times. You aren't Gordon Ramsay, and yes these are easy tweaks to make. Bartender was great, and cocktails were tasty. The extra star is for his customer service. Nice vibe, although they stuck as at a table beside the swinging door to the kitchen that would make a smacking noise every minute and they refused to find us a new table and were quoted an hour wait. So glad I made a reservation to be stuck at the worst table in the place so I can spend $200 to listen to door smack and watch servers scurry in and out repeatedly beside me. We moved to the bar as we had no other choice. The food I did have was good, but sadly it was all soured by the experience. I won't be back!

Yelp
Last week we come on a Thursday night to try the dine outside Vancouver menu at Ophelia. This is my first time dining here. COVID measurements was established with employees wearing masks and plexi glass where needed. The tables were 2 meters apart and I felt comfortable dining in. As soon as I stepped into the restaurant I felt I walked into a different environment darker with comfortable with contemporary style. As for the food we ordered: Appetizer: - queso con chorizo: OMG! This was really good with the gooey Oaxaca cheese binding the chorizo and potato. - red snapper cerviche tostada: each bite was refreshing and spicy. I don't like spice but I kept eating this and finished it. If only I had a glass of milk Entree: - taco de arracherra y bone marrow: WOW! This flavour was pronounced with adding the bone marrow. Decadent and satisfying. - pollo en mole de la casa: no photo as I forgot as it was my hubby's entree. I had a few bites and the chicken swimming with mole mingled perfectly with each bite. It is a substantial size as my hubby said it did the job! Thumbs up! Dessert: No choice for dessert - Tres Leches cake. I love pistachio and blueberry so happy to see both on the plate to bring down the sweetness. Delightful! Definitely recommend Ophelia!

Jess S.

Yelp
Lovely spot and addition to the ever expanding Olympic Village. Huge patio with comfortable seating. We came to try their margaritas (try the Ophelia - Jose Tradicional, Triple Sec, Lime, Hibiscus). Beautiful and bright pink cocktails and they did not skimp on the tequila! We also ordered chips and guac. The guac was very fresh and incredibly delicious. The chips were a bit stale. The server was so sweet. She made some hard to pass suggestions! They have a vegan taco which sounds delicious and I cant wait to try! I definitely will come back!

Jerry P.

Yelp
I was hosting a birthday party and decided to order some taco kits. I called earlier in the day to inquire about portion sizes, and was told that each person would get five tortillas. I ordered two taco kits, enough for eight people total and totalling nearly $100. One taco kit that I received had 10 small tortillas while the other had 11. The garnishes provided were paltry--not even enough for two people. See pictures for what was delivered. I called as I thought there was an error but the restaurant refused to help and even suggested that the four-person taco kit does indeed only include ten tortillas (contrary to what I was told earlier, and if you think about, it only 2.5 tiny tortillas a person??). Their photos online layer the tortillas too, so that's 1.5 tacos a person! My guests were flabbergasted at the restaurant's response. I had to order more food from another restaurant to adequately feed us all. Really disappointing customer service and zero value for the money. I would not recommend Ophelia to anyone, unfortunately.

Flavia K.

Yelp
NOT FOOD ALLERGY FRIENDLY. Unfortunately, this restaurant is not food allergy friendly. Neither the website, nor the menu, goes into enough detail regarding what ingredients are being used in each dish. Peanuts/Nuts are the NUMBER ONE food allergy globally, and you would have no idea unless you talk to them that 99% of the items on their menu secretly contain nuts. Not only that, but they will tell you that they can try and remove the nuts, but there may still be cross contamination. If a customer has a peanut/nut allergy, that is LETHAL. So if all of your food contains peanuts/nuts, and there is nothing you can do to prevent cross contamination, then that means that people with peanut/nut allergies cannot dine at your establishment. To save everyone time and frustration, the inability to accommodate food allergies should be clearly mentioned on the website and on the menu, so that customers can know ahead of time. Please note that this is not the only food allergy that they cannot accommodate. But it is the one that is the most serious, so that is why I am mentioning it. Secretly hiding peanuts/nuts in all of your dishes is NOT OKAY. This info needs to be clearly written on the menu so that it is transparent for customers.

Karen S.

Yelp
You know I really wanted to love this place. Presentation of food is great. Drinks were good. Food was ok. I had the bone marrow taco for entree, there was barely any bone marrow on there. But the taste was good. Service was extremely slow. I was mainly disappointed how I sat in the furthest corner and the servers managed to spill things all over me twice and didn't really care? The first time they didn't even try to bring me napkins or anything after spilling tequila on my sweater. The second time they spilled water down my back :,). Throw a girl a discount or a free churo or my dry cleaning here! It's courtesy. All my stuff was all white.

Garry V.

Yelp
Doesn't get any better than this. Great food, drinks and service. Gotta try the bone marrow tacos. Highly recommended.

Jenn G.

Yelp
The food is good, though a tad on the pricey side for what it is. Drinks are pretty top notch. Interior is okay - nothing super special. Something about it is a bit off; like it's almost cool but just missed the mark. Service is absolute trash. I live in the neighbourhood and have been there numerous times. At best, service is slow and indifferent. They never seem to check in on how the food or drink are, and servers are generally unavailable. We always seem to have to flag someone down, or even walk over to their bar to order more items. Though quick enough in taking your order, they take forever to bring it. Also somehow manage to bring partial orders? How do you manage to bring the food and not the drinks when everything was ordered at the same time? Then deny you ever ordered it in the first place and refuse to take accountability and admit mistakes. At worst times they have been arrogant, rude and belittling, making you feel as if you should be grateful to be there. I've experienced twice, as others have mentioned, them kicking us out, even when the restaurant is not nearly full and before their apparent 2 hour time limit is up. Both times were very early evening on a weekday - hardly a peak time. They literally refused to let us order dessert or another cocktail, lied about table bookings and essentially said they did not care how much we spent or if we ever came back. I have never in my adult life had a server talk to me in such a shitty way. And it's not just one server who tends to you, it's multiple, and they all seem to have equally poor abilities in their job. We were told they pool their tips and all pitch in taking care of tables, which is great if your servers and mangers are good, but here it's as if they are trained to be arrogant and superior. Lastly, they have some good happy hour offerings, but seem to actually hate you if you order off the happy hour menu. I honestly do not understand why they offer it at all, as they seem resentful and judgemental if you actually take advantage of it. Maybe just be thankful that it brings people in on a Wednesday at 4:00 when your restaurant would otherwise be empty?? I have recommended Ophelia in the past to colleagues, friends and family based on the food and drink quality, but based on my multiple, repeated terrible service experiences I hesitate to recommend it any longer.

Yelp
The food was average, I was not impressed for the price. I ordered the trio tacos, the flavours were ok, on the salty side and way too much juice from the sauces which made the tacos messy to eat. Drinks were ok but overpriced, the concept was alright though. The ambiance of the place was a disappointment, the echo was making the background music too loud making the place chaotic, my throat was raw by the end of our meal, no oteas able to hear each other unless we were screaming, I don't find that enjoyable when with a group. Service was average too. Would I go back? I don't think so.

Yelp
It is unfortunate that I have to write this review as it was a very bad experience. I was excited to introduce my friends to this place and had given rave reviews. I had made reservations for 2:45pm for 6 ppl and when arrived, the place was empty, so we asked for a standard table instead of a high top; as long as it was okay. We were told there would be a 2hour limit and we agreed and placed our first order of drinks and food shortly after. We were talking about the ambience, the food and enjoying ourselves. We ordered our second round and this is where things went down hill real quick. There was two different servers who were attending to us, at 345pm one server told us we had to settle up and leave because of the 4pm reservations; we were confused and said "we were told when we sat down we had 2 hours." He said no, it was 1.5hrs; we looked at each other confused because it had only been 1hour and we just placed an order with the other server. We asked if there was another table and he went to speak the manager to see. He came back and said no, when we asked about our second order he said he had cancelled it in the system already. Did not ask us or tell us prior and no apologies, just basically a "get out". We said okay and asked for our bills. Shortly after our second round of food and drinks started arriving... we said no to the person and that we were told all was cancelled. At this point, the manager or host came and kinda apologize but because we asked for another table, that was why it happened but will let us stay for an hour.. we Thanked him and he left. We wanted to stay but we realized we didn't want to stay at a place where we weren't welcomed. So we asked we will just settle up instead. We had to ask 3 times to settle up and with our proper bills. For a place who wanted originally wanted to kick us out- they sure took their time... When we got our bills again; they tried to charge us for everything for the second round that they cancelled! All of this was fairly comical; we are nice group and we're polite throughout, but every aspect of thinking Ophelia as a great establishment has now been diminished after we feel very disrespected. We are a very understanding and simple group, but do expect a certain level of customer service. Especially for a higher end restaurant. We were more than happy to leave. Ophelia does not have proper communication amongst each other and treats their clients in a rude manner. The one server, taller and dark brown hair was nice and apologetic, Shorter server, with thick eyebrows (I even commented nice eyes!) light brown hair- needs to have retraining on customer service and etiquette. Overall management needs to be better organized. We were in Olympic Village, we weren't worried about finding another spot- made our way to Flying Pig, dropped some hefty dollars and had an amazing time with great staff. Ophelia can get some pointers from Flying Pig.

Yelp
Food : 3 stars (not sure why they are a Michelin restaurant) - its good but not "amazing" Service : 1 star - everything was alright until we found a bug in the drink that was served and we told the waiter and she just looked at us funny..did not do or say anything about it. They also kept trying to take our plates away while we were still eating. Ambiance : 3 stars - we went for brunch but I think its better to go for dinner. Much better brunch vibes elsewhere!

Yelp
I absolutely love this place! The guacamole is the best I've had in Vancouver and their complimentary salsas go great with it. Another huge highlight are their margaritas. I'm risking my Monday night seats but, go on Mondays for their $10 margarita specials. They have super unique flavors, not too sweet as per my friends review, but perfectly sweet to me who isn't a huge fan of many cocktails. They have a variety of flavors with some being sweet and some being spicy, you'll definitely find one you love. The steak and potatoes are killer! I don't have anything bad to say about the service but nothing special either. One time I did ask for a Margarita I'd had previously that wasn't on the menu anymore and they were able to accommodate me which was very nice. I've gone here plenty of times and always enjoyed myself. The ambience is very fun too, their decorations are great, the music can be hit or miss in my opinion. The five stars are for how satisfied I am with the food every time.

Yelp
This spot was recommended and did not disappoint! I'll start off with the ambiance; it's a little dark to set the mood, but still pretty well lit which is nice. You'll get some chips and a variety of dips to start your meal. I'd hold on to the salsa in case you want to add some extra spice to the dishes that you order. The bone marrow tacos are sooo rich - deadly but so worth it. I'd 10000% recommend getting a side of bone marrow.. one wasn't enough for the four tacos. The enchilada was also very impressive, my friend and I were both taken back to Mexico with these dishes. It was nice that it actually lived up to the hype. The sauce is what really made the dish. I feel like the desserts were just okay, I feel that the compote on the tres leches was a little too overwhelming and sweet & the same goes for the flan cake. A littttle too sweet for my preference; but it's worth a try if you've got a sweet tooth. We both agreed that this spot is worth visiting again; even if it's just for the enchilada and bone marrow tacos!

Yelp
Joined friends at Ophelia's for dinner. We ordered family style and had the tuna tostadas, shrimp tostadas, rib eye, and the pulpo. A little pricey but the quality was great. We also ordered a number of their margaritas and we all loved the different variations we tried. Ambiance was great, good music, mood lighting, and of course, good conversation with our friends!

Yelp
This is a beautiful and happening place to go for drinks, enjoy the atmosphere and have a variety of Mexican infusion. The drinks were good and very creative and really tasty, but personally I like my drink a bit stronger...like for the price of each drink I would think it would be a double rather than a single shot. So, if you like your drink on the stronger side, be sure to order two....well ..if you want to spend that much. $15 for a single shot is a little high....no matter how pretty it is. The Trio De Taco I really liked. It was delicious and reasonably priced, even though there was barely any marrow on the bone, but I guess that was more of a garnish? The ceviche really yummy.....yeah ..try that one too! Actually I liked all of it. The only one we didn't like was the ....well...the steak think with the guacamole. We ordered the Chicharron De Rib Eye but got something else. I don't even know what it was. It was pieces of steak that was really tough and chewy. We sent it back. We asked our server why it wasn't the Rib Eye and she said that was only at happy hour. It would've been nice for her to tell us when we were ordering.....you know...that it wasn't available ....instead of brining us something completely different! :/ It's a place definitely worth trying at least once. Just make sure you have a couple of drinks at home first...lol.

Yelp
Great Mexican spot! The tacos and margarita were delicious! I especially loved the Aguachile Negro -- highly recommend! We also ordered the prawn ceviche tostada. Everything was delicious and I would come back here to try the other dishes we didn't get to order. I also liked that they were open late.

Yelp
Tried out this place for the first time. Relatively easy to book using their tbdine system. Small glitches but acceptable overall. A little surprise hostess only checked and didn't scan our vaccine QR code? Food quite nice we were there during happy hour. Appreciated the affordable parking around at Olympic Village area.

Yelp
Most amazing dinner! All the food we tried was hands down one of the best I have ever had. Familiar Latin cuisine but so upscale and unique. It truly was an amazing dining experience. The octopus is a must try!

Yelp
Been here twice. Good ambiance and spacious seating. The food is hit and miss with some good plates like the octopus, pork belly, decent tacos, pibil puerco torta and margaritas. But the misses can be fatal. Their molcajete with shrimp and steak is both expensive and terribly indigestible with all the dish elements swimming in salsa verde that will revisit your esophagus all day long. I'd say keep it simple, order from the cheaper items during brunch and take advantage of their happy hour ( which you'll have to 'remind' the server about). I will definitely return but I think the menu needs tweaking to offer a better array of options. Service is very friendly .

Yelp
The bone marrow tacos ALONE are worth going for. Kitchen staff know what they're doing.
