Japanese restaurant with a warm vibe & contemporary decor serving sushi & other classic fare.
"Ora’s dim lighting, dance playlist, and wave-shaped ceiling design make this sushi spot stand out among the more laid-back spots you normally find in Andersonville. But it’s a fantastic option for a date or dinner in the neighborhood if you’re looking for a buzzier atmosphere than Tanoshii—a great (but quieter) sushi restaurant down the street. Ora’s one-page menu is short and simple, so you won’t find any rolls with a billion ingredients, but the food is consistently good. They have delicious pieces of beni toro and sweet botan ebi with crispy shrimp heads, and though their non-sushi options are limited, the sweet and savory oyster motoyaki makes a great starter." - John Ringor
"Ora’s dim lighting, upbeat dance playlist, and wave-shaped ceiling design give this BYOB spot a buzzy energy. The Andersonville restaurant’s one-page menu is short and simple (none of the rolls have an ingredient list that reads like an aquarium directory), and the sushi is consistent. They have delicious pieces of nigiri and sashimi like seared trout belly or diver scallop, plus maki like the tako tuna with a balanced mix of spicy tuna and squid. And though their non-sushi options are limited, the sweet and savory oyster motoyaki makes a great starter." - adrian kane, john ringor, veda kilaru
"Mood lighting, dance music, and wave-shaped ceiling art make Ora stand out as a vibey-er option among the low-key spots you normally find in Andersonville. But this sushi restaurant is perfect if you want a slightly buzzier experience than Tanoshii just down the street. Ora’s one-page menu is short and simple, so you won’t find any maki loaded with an ocean’s worth of ingredients, but the food is consistently good. They have tasty pieces of beni toro and botan ebi with crispy shrimp heads, and while there are only a few non-sushi options, the sweet and savory oyster motoyaki makes for a great starter." - sam faye, adrian kane, john ringor
"Japanese neighborhood restaurant Ora Sushi reopened in early January inside its new home at 5701 N Clark Street, just six blocks from its original space, ownership announced on Facebook. The location, just beside brunch destination M. Henry, previously housed Thai fusion spot Blu 57. Ora, now holding dine-in service for the first time since March 2020, relocated after 10 years at Clark and Foster." - Naomi Waxman
