Came here because we've seen Chef Ducasse on different tv shows such as Chef's Table.
Maybe I had a bit too high of expectation for this place, but now looking back, we shouldn't have expected to much from the place based on the location and price (seems too cheap for a restaurant facing the court yard of Versailles).
Hostess was the best part of the whole experience.
The elevator led led you to "premier etage" (1st floor). From there, we encountered 4 staff (one seated us, one took our wine order, one brought us the wine, and one took our food order.)
Here's the interesting part: we ordered the wine but the wrong year of it was brought and we were told they "didn't have the 2011, only the 2013." Uhhh... okay... maybe time to update the wine list...
The staff who took our food order could barely explain the food other than "it's vegetable, green vegetable and red vegetable". I understand we shouldn't expect everyone to speak English (that would be rude and disrespectful) but if there is a word you can't translate, maybe it's a good idea checking with your colleague to avoid issues such as food allergy... and google translation won't work here as the menu doesn't provide much detail.
Throughout lunch, no one ever came to refill our wine. I'm not sure if they don't pour your wine here or we were just neglected.
Food was good but not great. We got hake and pasta with truffle. I love truffle with mac & cheese which is similar to the pasta we got, an I actually prefer the version here since it's light and not extremely greasy while still giving you that truffle mac & cheese idea.
Will we come back again?! Probably not. There are a few other restaurant options at Versailles that I'd rather check out.
