I don’t know why this place has such a low rating! We had a great experience today. We arrived an hour earlier, and it was quiet and wonderful. Our server gave us excellent care. The beef tartare and chocolate mousse are my top recommendations. The onion soup and snails could be better, but that’s just my personal opinion. Overall, it’s a cozy atmosphere with a beautiful interior and a great crowd!

Place was low lit, upscale, and quiet. The host welcomed us and even opened the inner door for us upon entry and exit. Everyone was polite but not very friendly. The general vibe was one of surprise and thinly veiled contempt, which our family is used to when fine dining. Our waiter was initially polite, but warmed up to us quickly and was very pleasant and attentive. The coat check lady was not very nice and could benefit from being more friendly. She kept looking at us like we were beneath her. The bread was amazing. They had an excellent wine list, and even a mocktail menu my daughter could order from. My husband loved his French onion soup, and the escargot wasn’t the best I’ve had but it was very good. Our entrees (pictured below) were delicious and we especially loved the marrow and broth for the beef. I probably wouldn’t dine here again but it was an enjoyable experience and a flawless presentation.

The ambiance and the vibes were good. My waiter was very attentive. They had a good wine selection. I went out to eat and got seated right away. I got the special for the evening beef short rib. Food was okay. Short rib wasn’t as tender as I would of hoped. But I will be back to try other things on the menu.

My husband and I started with 6 oysters from East & West. They were sweet yet lightly briny. Followed by delicious onion soup and flavorful escargots. We enjoyed the moules frites were excellent in coconut milk and boeuf bourguignon. We ended perfect meals with decaf cappuccino and cafe with ginger cake with ice cream with salted caramel. Their numerous staff were very tentative to every stage of our courses and drinks. We were very well taken care of and by the staff. We will be coming back again☺️

What a treat! Great large restaurant with old french flair. Outside or inside you will be very happy. Service was outstanding with everyone working as team. Now for the food. Presentation was excellent for all dishes. We tried the liver mousse and french onion soup, steak and fries. Eggs with salmon and had to try dessert. The liver mousse was my favorite. Creamy and rich. Steaks were perfect and fries crunchy salty. Soup so good but the desserts ohhh the desserts just yum.

If you ever wanted to have a dish at a French restaurant that says "we think you are stupid Americans " then get the salad niçoise at Orsey because it is an absolute insult to food, to its customers and to any true French food. It seemed that the whole plate was rearranged and kept in the sub-refrigerator. It was that cold. The beans were mush, the tomatoes were soggy, the egg tastes like vinegar, the potato was actually so hard it cracked when I bit into it and the bed of greens were marked with brown tips cut off. The thimble of tuna it's was a tartar (some places it is not) was unremarkable, but I ate it anyway because I wasn't going to throw 35 bucks out the window. The bread was tasty but cold, and the butter was too cold to scrape and spread. It's been a minute since I've been here, and it's a one and done for me. Nice room, pleasant people at the door, and a great bartender.

Food and drinks were great and delivered to the table quickly. However, service could be greatly improved. Before my girlfriend and I were finished dining, the busser came up to us and asked if he could remove our plates, which is understandable, and we declined the offer as she was not finished yet. However, in a short amount of time (~5min) he came back asking to clear the table and she felt rushed her to finish her food (literally rushed to finished her meal while he stood at our table). To make our dining experience worse, we waited at our table for 20-30 minutes waiting for our server to offer us dessert or to at the very least allow us to see the dessert menu. He never came around with the dessert menu. The tables around us, which arrived AFTER we did, were being offered dessert and we watched our server go past our table several times with other tables' desserts, while no regard was given to us. While I went to the bathroom, the server dropped off the check to my girlfriend. She did not ask for the check and neither did I. Also note that I was the host of the dinner and the reservation was made under MY name, not my girlfriend's. Never felt compelled to leave a negative review before, but this experience did warrant a negative response. Very disappointing service, and even more so since Valentine's Day is around the corner.

First French restaurant, crossing it off my world taste list. Walking in, the vibe was very tense mainly from the other guest. I could practically feel the racial barrier xD. I had the lunch special steak 6oz and friesinstead of the 8oz, a wise choice because I didn't even finish it before my lunch break was over. I asked for medium well but I guess that's just medium here? Compared to Golden Corral, I preferred GC's. Fries were a delight, the steak sauce was tasty and very creamy, so please explain any dietary restrictions to the person that takes your order. BE LOUD AND CLEAR ABOUT IT. I wish they had some mocktails on the menu, would've loved something fruity with that steak. I settled for ol reliable lemonade. The Cokes and Sparkling water came in cute glass bottles, I wanted to take em and turn them into vases. Gotta be quick. I didn't have a chance to order the tartin dessert since I was late, will come back to try it another day, maybe a creme brulee if its on the menu :9

We were here last night for a pharmacy dinner. The menu was prefix. The options were: Appetizers - Truffle salad or Tuna tartare Entree - Salmon or Chicken Dessert - Chocolate mousse or sorbet I ordered the tuna for an appetizer and it was amazing. The tuna was extremely fresh and tasty. The salad had a mouthwatering truffle aroma coming off of it. If you're not a big fan of truffle, this may not be for you. I also asked the waitress which entree she recommended and she said she prefers the chicken so I got just that. The skin was crispy while the chicken remained juicy. There was also a sauce which was great to dip the chicken in. It came with mashed potatoes which was creamy. I got the chocolate mousse and it was light and airy. The sorbet people got had a beautiful presentation to it and people were devouring them. Overall, I would definitely come back.

A little bit of Paris on the Upper East Side. Everything is well executed and food and service consistent. Favorite place for an escape at lunchtime.

Nice UES Brassiere. Basic French fare with good service. Quiet but it is the UES. If you are in the neighborhood you can go and get some good food.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner at Orsay last night and opted for their 3-course prix fixe menu, priced at $82 per person (before tax and tip). The food was delicious and full of flavor. The service was equally impressive - our server was attentive, friendly, and added to the overall great experience. Highly recommended for a special occasion!

Walked into Orsay with some friends for drinks and ended up staying for lunch as well. The interior of the restaurant is opulent and feels like you've been sent back to a Parisian cafe. The staff is courteous and were able to accommodate us even though we did not have a reservation. Their cocktail menu contained a varied selection, and the drinks were good. Among the drinks we ordered were the Jalapeno Margarita, Pink Negroni, and the Rosé Spritz. For food, we started with the Soupe à l'Oignon Gratinée and Salade Niçoise - the Soupe à l'Oignon Gratinée was a flavorful and decadent French onion soup, perfect to soak up with the bread served for the table. The Salade Niçoise was decent, albeit a little bland. For main courses, we ordered the Grass Fed Orsay Burger, Poulet Fermier Rôti aux Herbes, and Lunch Steak Frites. The Grass Fed Orsay Burger was a very satisfying burger. The Poulet Fermier Rôti aux Herbes was an incredibly flavorful herb-roasted farm chicken. The steak in the Lunch Steak Frites was so juicy and paired well with the rich Béarnaise sauce. Even though we were all full at the end of this meal, we ordered the Crème Brûlée, which was the icing on the cake - I implore you to order this even if you think you have no space left. All in all, a decent place to go to on a Saturday or Sunday brunch!

Came here for the first time to try out their monday night special: Prime rib. Experience was quite disappointing. We arrived at 530pm. We ordered 2 orders of the prime rib, both to be made Rare. They initially brought us two steaks and claimed they were both rare. However, what showed up was one steak about medium and the second one about medium-well to well-done. They were not fooling anyone. The medium-well piece was also the end piece. We confronted the manager that the steak was definitely not rare as ordered. An endpiece can almost never be rare in principle. As per the butcher who cut the steak, they said they must cut the prime rib slab in order from the end piece start, and cut towards the middle regardless what temperature the patron is ordering. They stated we were the first person ordering the prime rib that evening so we get those first two pieces starting from the end. I have NEVER heard of this being a case for a steak serving establishment that we get no choice for the temperature of the steak. I'm not sure if this is the truth or were they just looking for the sucker that didn't know what proper steak is supposed to look like. If they can't honor the steak rare or medium-rare, they should state that right before ordering or upon arrival of the dish. They brought us two overcooked steaks and if we didnt speak up they would just leave it which i find unprincipled. The management did come by to apologize that the whole prime rib slab was more over cooked than usual Mondays. However, the tone of the apology was a bit defensive. At that point they recommended us to order something else. However, we already got settled at the table with an infant so we did not want to leave midist of dinner time for the sake of our infants sleep/feed schedule. The conclusion is we had to succumb to eating overcooked steak. This place is also not stroller infant friendly. They would only seat us outdoors away from the main restaurant or the corner seat near the bar. The prime rib did come out on a cart and the steak is cut in front of you. However we did not get to see it given the outdoor seating we were forced to sit in. BOTTOM LINE: I would not recommend the prime rib if you are particular about how your steak is prepared.

Orsay did everything right. The atmosphere is festive but not loud (we sat outside). Our waiter was terrific, making very helpful suggestions. And my meal was terrific. Tuna tartare was a treat and the Brussels sprouts cooked just right - crispy on the outside while not dry. My partner had halibut which was a little overcooked and a bit dry. But the profiterole more than made up for it. Definitely plan to return. made up for it

I had an okay experience during early dinner. The staff is exceptional. The hospitality is amazing. 5 stars for professionalism. The food is just not okay. The fries are soggy, the steak was sub par. My Cabernet was a cab -as expected. The atmosphere is interesting. Very dated and has an odd smell. It's not beautiful and the seats are not comfortable. They just need renovations!

I really did enjoy the food here. The decor brings you right to Paris, but could use a little love. The only thing that holds me back from a 5 star rating is it being a bit expensive and the less than enthusiastic service.

I pass by here soo much but never went in until this past weekend with a friend. She got the french onion soup and a salad. I got a mimosa and Eggs Benedict with breakfast potatoes. Our meals were great until my last few bites where I consumed some egg shells from eggs Benedict. I know it was a mistake but I was sad about it as the meal was very good beside that. The atmosphere of this place was nice but it gets loud easily even with the doors to the patio open. There is one bathroom on the main floor and than you walk up a few stairs to get to the regular bathrooms. Our waiter was nice but a bit hard to hear him and it felt like he was rushing us a little while ordering. I was telling him all my allergies and I felt a bit rushed. But he was nice.

Another restaurant week pick! This time it was with a different friend (it was the same friend from the Flushing's adventure). We wanted to try a French place and I found this one and booked it. It was close to where I lived so it was convenient to walk there. Once again, as it's restaurant week, there are 3 courses for dinner at either $45 or $60. For my appetizer, I went with the gazpacho. I needed something cool and refreshing as it was very hot and humid outside. This chilled soup did just that. I don't know what it was made of but I can tell you it was super good and refreshing. My friend got the peach salad and she said it was a unique dish as she hadn't had warm peaches before, but she enjoyed it very much. We both got the chicken dish. The chicken was seasoned well, moist, and just every bite felt like the first bite. It's hard to cook chicken and not overcook it and dry it out. This chicken was not dry at all and we just kinda kept eating it without consciously thinking that we were getting full. We used the bread for the ratatouille jus. Save the bread people. It's very high quality bread that you can use to soak up the sauces from your entrees. Lastly, as it was a birthday dinner, we both got the Paris Brest. It's basically choux pastry with cream inside. This one was hazelnut flavored. I didn't think we could finish it but we did. And it was glorious, totally worth it. It was super sweet but again, totally worth the sugar and calories. Service was good. It was not a busy night so we were able to get our bread and drinks in fast and food came out fast as well. Our waiter, I don't remember his name, but he made our drink recommendation (which again, I can't remember now), but his recommendation paid off because the drink we both got were amazing. I think it was some sort of sweet cocktail (maybe the sangria?). But it wasn't on the menu that's what I remember. Highly recommend this place. Will definitely be returning, especially for that mystery cocktail.

The food was outstanding, service was impeccable and the table and restaurant were beautiful! Couldn't have had a better experience! The Tuna Tartar Japonaise might be the best I've ever had! The French fries are amazing. Next time I want to try the profiteroles! What a lovely Saturday brunch!

Food was so good but i do recommend this restaurant service was horrible u got sat left and forgotten about when i ask the waiter remy for something i felt like i was bothering him.. unfortunately never will be returning again , Thank you but no thank you

Ambiance (3/5): We were seated on the main dining floor with tables that were a tad too small and the tight alongside other tables. Luckily, there was no one seated next to us, but it still felt like the tables made us feel like sardines in a room. The decorations are lovely and make the place feel fancy and ready to wine and dine you. It is dimly lit and voice levels moderate. It was a great date spot! Service (5/5): We were seated immediately when we walked in on a random weekday. The waiter was extremely courteous and explained the menu recommendations when asked. He noticed that I was bothered by the wobbly table, he came over and gave us a wedge (which unfortunately still did not do the trick) Food: Escargot (6pc) (4/5): The escargot was pre-scooped from its shell and was dredged in a buttery garlic and parsley sauce that was very rich and flavorful. The escargot was cooked right with a soft bite. The pieces were rather small. The bread that came with it was impossibly crispy! I wish there was enough bounce in the bread to dip into the sauce. Luckily we had a side of brioche from another app to dip instead. Foie Gras (3/5): I know their guests have often enjoyed this dish but it was very very rich and lacked any flavor. The cherry compote and toasted hazelnuts helped to accompany the bite, but did not hit the mark for me. For the price point, we felt we couldn't waste it despite really only eating one of the slices. Aile De Raie Sauvage (3/5): This was my first time having skatewing! There was absolutely no fishy taste it and had a lovely outer crisp to the sections of the fish. The whole presentation looked lovely with the splash emulsion sauce on the side! Overall, I felt like the dish was good but the taste was just meh. The sides of the baby turnips and bok choy felt disjointed with the overall dish. Paillard De Filet De Bœuf Au Cognac (4/5): The tenderloin was indeed very tender. The gravy sauce smothered the filet and provided a nice juicy bite! Portion sizes were appropriate. I enjoyed this dish the most in the evening. Profiteroles (cream puff) (5/5): I loved the dessert drizzled with chocolate and the vanilla ice cream inside was a great way to end the meal. Unfortunately, the food here did not meet expectations of French food I've had other restaurants. While I enjoyed my dining experience, I do not see myself returning.

This is a typical Parisian brasserie. We sat outdoors, which they have a a lot of spacing on the street. I felt that the restaurant rushes you. When you sit down, for two people the amount of time you are allowed at the table is 1.5 hours. I hate restaurants that time slot and limit you. It makes the entire dining experience rushed and unauthentic. Surprising for a Brasserie as all brasseries in Paris would never rush you at a table ! While I was able to get escargot, one of my favorites! They had an abundance in each little dish, which I was pleased with! The soft shell crab was also good, just had a lot of bread crumbs. A seasonal white asparagus salad. And a mussels dish. All of the dishes were good and solid French food. The prices are not the cheapest, perhaps one of the more overpriced restaurants. Overall, solid food but experience and atmosphere needs improvement.

Great service, great drinks, great food. Reminds me of many restaurants I've been to in Europe.

My friend and I came to Orsay for restaurant week and overall had a good experience. I would say the only thing is this restaurant's deals weren't amazing and the food overall is overpriced for what it is. I wasn't blown away by anything in particular; the chicken and pasta were good, but the ricotta truffle toast was a little too sweet. The desserts were good. I think there are better restaurant week deals out there for $65, but I don't regret going and trying it out!

Food service ambiance are all first rate- love the menu and constant everything - longer review won't make it better

Orsay is a great spot. I've only ever been for brunch, but had a solid meal each time. My favorite dishes are the French onion soup, tuna tartar, and steak tartar. The tuna tartare in particular is one of the best I've had in the city. I would recommend getting the entree portion (even if you're getting it as an appetizer). Beautiful restaurant on the inside, with some excellent outdoor dining as well. While it's a bit pricey, I would absolutely recommend giving it a shot.

Very classy place. Loved everything besides the bathroom situation. You have to climb Mount Everest to get to these "vintage," not so clean stalls. The French onion soup is a must order. I personally am not a huge fan of having soup but this was too gooood. Steaming hot and overflowing with gooey cheese. I also ordered the special, grilled octopus with white bean purée. It's was just slightly rubbery but very flavorful. A+ for taste. Our waiter was professional, patient and fast. Everything you could want from restaurant service. I should also mention how comfortable their outdoor dining is. Besides people walking by, it felt like main dining room vibes.

Always a pleasant experience at Orsay! Escargots are wonderful!! French Onion soup is never to be missed! Tuna Tartare "Japonais" for a starter or an entree is a solid choice. And the Sole De Douvre Meunière or the Cassoulet are fabulous! Environment is as one would expect from a French Bistro in NYC. The service is beyond stellar!!

The food is terrible. Steak was raw and extremely tough. Was not happy since ordered medium. The same thing happened with the other diners at my table. This is second time in a month that I had a bad meal there. I've decided to not return. The restaurant has one positive..... ambiance ok.

We've been to a ton of French places in our area and had high expectations for this one, but it sadly did not make it to the top of our list. The vibe at the restaurant is lively but also calm at the same time. Definitely a great atmosphere for a date. The service was just okay. We were seated right away, but it took awhile to be served water and bread. After the waiter took our orders for drinks, he walked away and it took another 10 minutes for the waiter to come back and order our food (which happened to be a different waiter than the previous for some reason.) For appetizers we started off with the escargot which was super herbal and not enough butter for me. We also ordered a lyonnaise salad which had way too much bacon and barely any salad. The egg was also overcooked. For entrees, my boyfriend got the duck. It was supposed to come with ratatouille, but it looked just like a mix of random beans and carrots. The duck was also rather dry. I ordered the Friday special, dover sole, which had too little of brown butter sauce and was very strong on the lemon juices. It also came with fingerling potatoes which was plated funny and looked out of place. However, the fish itself was cooked perfectly. For dessert, we ordered their mousse which was just average. After having a mind-blowing mousse a week earlier, we felt that it could not compare in taste nor texture. Overall, I was a bit disappointed in this spot...

When our favorite French restaurant closed last year we were afraid we would never have that "Parisian cafe" experience again. We were thrilled to discover Orsay and have made it our new family favorite. The food is great and the ambience continental

The staff all seemed to have an attitude. I guess that's part of the atmosphere. The ambiance was awesome. The gazpacho was average, the escargot was tender, yet, drowned in parsley and no bread for dunking. Only hard Arther Ave bread. Chicken dish was tasty, but, very dry. The sole dish was flavorful and the price shocking...70. The service was excellent. Nice to try, but there are nice places for the money.

Today went here for lunch. Nice atmosphere, tasty food, very good service, attentive managing staff, overall a positive experience.

This restaurant feels like you've been transported to France! We were seated right away with no reservation. There was a coat check at the door which was nice. I went on a Saturday night which was very busy...as I can tell from our waiter because there were big gaps of time waiting to order drinks or food. My favorite dish was the escargot!! Wow! The bread they give out was phenomenal! We kept asking for more! I would defiantly like to come back when the crowd is smaller, but overall it was a pleasant experience.

Delicious lunch in a sophisticated French atmosphere. The service was impeccable. We ate off of the winter 2022 restaurant week menu. My husband and I both had the Crispy Scottish Salmon Cakes. One of mine was a little too crispy for me, stealing the attention from the taste of the salmon, but the other one was perfect, and my husband said his was fine. For the main meal, I had Sautéed Wild Skate. It was my first time having skate and it was absolutely delicious! One of those meals that you think about for days (weeks) afterwards! The side dishes of spinach and potatoes were also good. My husband had coq au vin which was quite delicious, although the sauce was a little heavy.

Had an amazing dinner at Orsay the other night. The atmosphere is delightful and the service is impeccable. Shout out to John R who took care of us like his own family. The restaurant is one of my favorites in NYC.

Excellent, classic French dishes in a convivial atmosphere. Prompt and efficient service. I highly recommend a visit if you are in the Upper East Side.

Horrible experience with one of the managers. Very rude! I went with my friend to celebrate the holidays there. There was a man cutting jamón and I asked and the server said: would you like to try? I said: yes. It looked like a tasting kind of promotion. Never mentioned it was a special and the charge was $45 for a plate. We spoke with the one of the "managers" and very rude said : I won't remove this from your check. I would never come back or recommend this place to anyone.

We popped in on a Saturday afternoon for brunch and were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful ambiance, excellent food, and friendly staff. We had the crustless quiche, which is accompanied by a salad of greens with the house dressing, a homemade white balsamic vinaigrette. The quiche, served in an individual quiche cassoulet, was hot and tasty. The salad was a perfect accompaniment. The service was prompt and our waiter made us feel welcome. We plan to return soon!

Overpriced for mediocre food. Dinner was served lukewarm. The bill came and they over charged us for drinks I never ordered. When I asked them to fix the bill, the arrogant owner insulted me and told me "I have plenty of business, I don't need customers." The upper east side has plenty of quality restaurants that treat their customers with respect and serve amazing food. Avoid this place - it's mediocre at best and their customer service is horrible..

Classic French bistro with great options. Good service, although I did notice we had to wait a long time before anyone came to take our order.

The food here feels quite authentic based on dozens of trips to Paris. The service on both visits here was attentive. The atmosphere is generally intimate unless your adjacent banquette diners are overly exuberant. Although in the pricey realm, the whole package is worth it!

We made a hassle-free, last-minute dinner reservation for a party of 8 on a Saturday night during COVID. In addition to a lovely covered patio space, there are also tables set up on the sidewalks and on the street. The tables were not cramped together, but I don't think they were all 6' apart. That said, we were far enough from our neighboring guests to feel comfortable. The restaurant was pretty full when we arrived, and the waitstaff worked very quickly and efficiently. They have an impressive wine list, featuring many French wines. The food menu during COVID is a bit more limited, but there were still a decent number of options to satisfy different tastes. I had the steak tartare, which was so flavorful and delicious. For dessert, we shared the ile flottante, which was and light, airy, and sweet end to a delicious French meal.

Food was overseasoned. Staff were really hit or miss. One just outright poured out my glass of sparkling water without saying anything or gave me anything in return. Two kept standing next to me casually chatting. Our server was nice though. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Food is amazing and is very delicious. The service was absolutely fantastic they gave me the food within 15 minutes. It is amazingly decorated with lights, a fancy wooden entrance, and is decorated with mirrors. Highly recommend.

Well, this was definitely one of the stranger restaurant experiences we have had. I'm not a big fan of French restaurants, so the menu choices for me were limited to begin with. How we ended up here is a different story. My better half had the mussels which she found delicious. Although not served in their traditional white wine broth, the Thai style coconut lime broth was extremely tasty. The frittes were great as well. I started with the tomato soup which was excellent. It was very tasty, and thick enough to make it hearty. Accompanied by some delicious French bread. I ordered the pasta. I didn't feel like any of the other dishes which felt like they would be a bit heavier to me. The pasta itself was OK but what made the dish unappealing was the heavy soupy green mush that was flavorless. OK, no big deal, we have all been to restaurants where the dish we ordered wasn't what we thought it would be. Interestingly enough, the people sitting on both sides of us also ordered that pasta and they didn't care for it either. Now, for the bizarre part. I usually don't make that big a deal about the service, because some people are more sensitive than others, and some people feel that they needed to be treated like kings when they walk into a restaurant. I'm not at all like that. I let the food talk for itself and if the service is a little less than ideal, I tend to let it slide, especially during these trying times. From the beginning, the waiter seemed a bit aloof. He wasn't very attentive, and simply took our order and made sure the food was delivered. Then, he disappeared. I don't mean disappeared like he didn't come back to our table and check on us, I mean literally he disappeared from the actual restaurant. Several bus boys asked us if we were finished with our meal, and continue to fill our water glasses, but my wife and I wondered how long it was going to take for this waiter to check on us. The answer was... Forever. When we asked the bus boy to send our waiter over to the table, we saw him walk all over the restaurant looking for the waiter and finally he mentioned it to the manager who came over to our table. I told him about the pasta, and he removed it from the bill. However, before that, he asked me if I wanted to just take it home instead. If I didn't like it in the restaurant, I'm going to venture that there's a pretty good chance I'm not going to like it at home either. Strange. Then I asked him about the waiter, and he said something about that the shift changed and the new waiter didn't come and pick up where the old waiter left off, but more than that it felt that the manager sort of brushed it off. In fact, it didn't seem like the manager treated this with the same sense of urgency or even wonder as we did. I think there is much more to the story than we were told. All in all, it was a bizarre and very disappointing experience. I'm giving one star here, because my wife like the mussels and I like the soup... And the bread.

The vibe is nice inside and feels like you've been transported to France but also is a little stuffy and a mostly older crowd. It was extremely warm in the restaurant with the heat on full blast so that was annoying. The food seems a little overpriced but everything we ate was enjoyable and portion size reasonable - especially the french onion soup! The service was attentive and our waiter was friendly. A little pet peeve of mine is when you specify it's a birthday on the reservation AND tell the waiter yet they still don't do anything to acknowledge that (no candle or comped dessert). But overall, had an enjoyable dinner here.

Old school expensive French slot - delicious French onion soup, a great wine list, lovely service.

Always okay. Food pretty good; service moderately adequate. Hey, look, if you like a fake Fwench look and feel, this place will do. It's been around for a coupla decades, and it still works. For me, outside for lunch works when looking to kill time and have a decent meal.

I ordered takeout food from the restaurant Orsay. When the food arrived, it came promptly and was delicious. That said, however, the bill was a huge outrageous rip off. It turns out that Orsay does not do anything other than prepare the food. Somebody else places the order, picks it up and makes the delivery. They had an outrageous $35 tip that I did not approve and also charged delivery. I was fine with the delivery charge but offended by the other which I would've rejected ifasked. I don't know how you protect yourself against this, but it was a very disappointing experience, and I informed Orsay the restaurant of it.

Came here for a nice lunch with my mom and newborn (in stroller) on a weekday and it was excellent. The wait staff is extremely professional and warm. The food was delicious and nice big portions. We had the French onion soup, escargot, steak tartare and the burger. The bread and butter service is delicious as well.

We hosted my son's 1st birthday party in the upstairs event space at Orsay & had an amazing experience! The staff was wonderful & worked with us to create an open bar and buffet menu. The food & service was excellent & they also allowed us to bring in adorable decorations to make the space more festive! I highly recommend Orsay for your next event!

The food here leaned toward the salty side. The escargot and bass were cooked to the perfect texture and the flavors besides salt were delicious but a little overshadowed. Loved the tricolor salad. The butter that came with the bread had the salt sprinkled on top rather than mixed throughout. I took a small bite and gagged. I would highly recommend changing this. For dessert we were initially brought tarte tatin rather than the mousse we ordered. It was getting toward the end of the night and it took several tries to get someone's attention to switch them, but the mousse was very tasty.

There was a cockroach running around under our table/ we weren't offered a new table and the manager didn't apologize. When asked if he could assist he said there's nothing he can do. Never coming back.

This place really is a classic French restaurant / brasserie. The food is all top notch, and the service and presentation are excellent. I hadn't been for a few years, but went back today with some friends for lunch. Had an open tuna sandwich which was fantastic, tuna had been slightly smoked and had a really interesting flavour. The others had halibut, burger and tuna tartare- all looked great and all plates got finished. It's definitely a place to take the in laws or celebrate or similar, it's not cheap, but it's quality food. - I kept having flashbacks to watching an episode of Homeland where Dar Adal visits this exact restaurant, and pops into a large back room area with a fridge where he is having someone tortured..... Hopefully he enjoyed his lunch too.

Lovely French bistro in the upper east side. Tuna tartare was amazing. Salad nichoise was fresh and delicious as well. Also fresh oysters and paired that with a white burgundy from St Aubin. Great food service ambiance!!
