The Best Sushi Takeout Restaurants In NYC - New York - The Infatuation

"Osakana has one massive leg up on the competition: It’s a fish market. The little East Village spot sells tuna, horse mackerel, and slabs of salmon belly so rich they qualify as butter, and you can all that same fish in sushi takeout form. Place an order online, then pick up an order of thick-cut sashimi or an oblong box of chirashi scattered with a jewel-like assortment of fish and Hokkaido uni." - bryan kim, willa moore, molly fitzpatrick, sonal shah

Best Affordable Sushi in NYC | Eater NY

"This amazing spot turns out pristine sushi to order, though it’s primarily to go: Splurge for the $60 omakase of 12 pieces, which comes in a darling little box. Other assortments sell for as little as $25 — perfect for a snack. You haven’t had New York sushi until you try it here. There’s a second location in Midtown, inside Katagiri Japanese Grocery." - Robert Sietsema

I was very confused where this place was but realized it was inside the Japanese grocery store…. The Osakana area itself is pretty small and everything was pre made. I thought it would be like the other location but this place is a market. Everything I got was very good and fresh. You can see workers constantly re stock the sushi. I also saw fresh fish being brought in. The prices are also very adorable for the quality and amount sashimi you are given. There are also a wide amount options in the grocery store (ramen, unigiri, sushi rolls, snacks, etc.) this place is 10/10 I would recommend:)
