Stylish, rustic-chic gastropub turning out modern Korean bites & cocktails, plus weekend brunch.
"Check out Pojangmacha-style dining at this Koreatown late-night gastropub where you feel like you’re in your own little outdoor abode, which has a retractable roof. Kick off the night with Korean beer, soju standards, a selection from the menu of Japanese whisky, or one of the wild creative cocktails. Move on to skewers and bar food like sweet potato fries, clams tang, Korean fried chicken, or uni bibimbap, from a kitchen open until at least 11 p.m." - Eater Staff
"Osamil carries a standard Korean beer and soju list, along with a variety of spirits not usually found in Koreatown, including Japanese whiskys. The restaurant specializes in Korean skewers and bar food, and most diners come for a side honey butter chips. Catering to those looking for a more relaxed vibe one block over from 32nd street, Osamil also offers late night drink specials, including a beer bucket with Hitachino White, Hite, Kronenburg, and Peroni for $35, and daily food specials." - Sam Kim
"The entire neighborhood of Koreatown is only about the size of a high school football stadium in Texas - but it’s full of great restaurants. Consequently, some of them get overlooked. Osamil, for example, is a great-looking spot with a marble bar up front and a brick-walled dining room in the back, and it serves everything from a burger to a bowl of bibimbap with uni and tobiko. Whatever else you order, be sure to get a kimchi pancake, and try a cocktail or two." - bryan kim, chris stang
"It seems like a flashy new Korean restaurant opens every week (usually from Hand Hospitality). But don’t forget about Osamil. If you want to have a fun night out in K-Town, this gastropub on 31st Street is a great place to start. The room is dark and lively, with hanging light bulbs and big shelves stocked with books and bottles of booze. Get something from the extensive cocktail list, then order some bulgogi and Korean fried chicken for the table. Once you finish, check out the bar above the restaurant, Osamil Upstairs." - Bryan Kim, Neha Talreja, Kenny Yang
"Walk into Osamil, and you’ll hear The Isley Brothers, Otis Redding, or some other kind of old-school R&B that’ll make you want to hang out in the dimly-lit space for several hours. It also doesn’t hurt that this little Korean pub serves some of the best food in the area, with a great kimchi pancake and various other things like uni bibimbap and a burger. There’s a bar up front where you can drink or eat by yourself, and the dining room in back is perfect for a slightly upscale meal with friends, parents, or your friend’s parents." - bryan kim, kenny yang, hannah albertine, matt tervooren
