9 Excellent Salt Cod Dishes in NYC - Eater NY

"“Stamp and go” is one of those lively nicknames Jamaicans have conferred on their food, designating the kind of salt cod fritters found all over the Caribbean. Here, the preserved fish are mashed with plantains, then breaded and fried. At this new Lower East Side Jamaican restaurant, a spicy pink aioli is served on the side for dipping. Match the fritters with a rum cocktail, since rum was an important product of the sugar cane plantations." - Robert Sietsema

8 Essential Restaurants to Visit in Summerville, SC | Eater Carolinas

"Oscar’s is an upscale casual dining establishment that’s been hiding in plain sight for over 35 years. Whether celebrating a birthday or some other special occasion, Oscar’s gives an intimate feeling not found anywhere else in Summerville. The menu consist of traditional Southern staples like shrimp and grits and fried green tomatoes, but there’s also unique takes on Southern standbys like smoked gouda grit cakes and cold Charleston crab dip." - KJ Kearney

I’ve been here 3 times. I wish I took better photos. This place is charming. It’s tiny. The service is friendly and fast. The people who work here, including the chef, are warm and kind and easy going. The Belgian hot chocolate is fresh and delicious. My French onion soup, eggs and toast, salad and a tuba melt w fries were each delicious. They play French music and 1930 ‘s jazz and pleasant music to eat to. The cozy, candlelit, yellow tuliped atmosphere is sweet. I love this place!!

Google
My Bestie brought me here to try their fish and chips which she raves about. I must say the fish and chips were quite tasty. Their halibut on the other hand was dry and overcooked. The calamari was surprisingly tasty. The ambiance is nice and the staff are attentive. Would return for more fish and chips.

I absolutely love this place. I was born and raised in this area and my parents used to take me here when it was a little Belgian bistro in the early 2000’s. I had my first ever waffle here! Though it’s a different cuisine these days, the ownership has miraculously stayed the same and the food is still amazing. It’s perfect for a cozy brunch. The place is tiny, service is friendly and warm, and the food, in addition to being delicious, is generously portioned. It’s always a fun challenge to try and fit every dish on the table lol. My favorites are the eggs en cocotte, fish and chips, and of course any of their waffle dishes (obv theirs is the OG waffle in my mind). I always order a pot of tea and try to sit in the window for people watching on Hudson. Oscar’s is a neighborhood gem and I’m grateful a place like this can still exist in this neighborhood. It always brings me back to my earliest, sweetest memories.

Google
This was the most disguising food I have ever tasted in my entire life. Inedible. I sent the first entree back because it was so terrible and ordered something else and that was just as gross.

Google
Charming underrated hidden gem. The kind of place you want to stay in business but hope nobody else finds it. I'm not even sure why I'm posting this review, don't tell anybody.

Google
A great spot for breakfast or brunch. They serve British breakfast food. The hot chocolate is delicious and a must try. The food was tasty and the service was good too.

Google
A gem on Hudson and Barrow. The outdoor seating is perfect for people watching on a summers day, the coffee is tasty and strong, and the English breakfast was filling and the right amount of grease. The waiter is also the owner and he was delightful, though I am a sucker for an English accent everytime. Inside appeared pretty cramped, but it's New York what do you expect. If you want a cute, no frills corner spot with an English accent come to Oscar's Place!

Yelp
Appearances can be deceptive. This tiny (16 seats) place isn't real pretty, but boy can they cook! The friendly staff bring masterful fish & chips - a full beautiful fillet with paper thin coating, perfectly cooked. Fries that were cut onsite, not from a bag. Butternut squash soup generously served and scrumptious. Surprising menu options from their English/Belgian background, like a steak and kidney dish, bangers and mash, and tarte tatin (simple but exacting as to technique). My friend's halibut was perfect, the lovely sauce kissed with garlic. My only wish (aside from them moving next door to me) is brighter lighting which this lovely food deserves. And the prices are actually reasonable!

Yelp
BEST SALMON BURGER IN THE CITY. Place is really tiny but the food and staff are great. Everyone is so friendly, it feels like you're walking into their home. The salmon burger is always fresh! Not sure what's in that sauce but I can eat this everyday. Served with the crispiest French fries. They give complimentary bread and butter to start and the bread is so fluffy and toasted perfectly. Love love love!
google avatar

Marian S.

Yelp
The service was excellent. Everyone was so attentive and friendly! And the fish and chips... oh my word... perfectly cooked, light and fluffy, and they served it with all of the right trimmings! 10/10, I will be going back!

Yelp
BEST BELGIAN BEEF STEW IN THE CITY (with prunes!) $25. And great fries. It's very small and non-hipster, so perfect for a group - you basically fill the place and you can HEAR each other. That's rare. Run by Neil who you rarely see, Trinidad (host) and his brother Tristan (the chef).

Yelp
Met a friend in the neighborhood for brunch. We had made reservations online but if you go early enough, or maybe get lucky, you won't need them. During the summer they had outdoor seating. The dining area is tight, with only a few tables inside and essentially in the kitchen. The server was helpful, gave recommendations for different options and kept checking in on us. Opted for the eggs cocotte for something lighter and the mash of the day, which I believe had roasted leeks. Eggs were cooked well, salad was a nice contrast, and rich mash. With a day filled with activities ahead of me, it took every bit of will power to not order a full english. But next time, I absolutely will.

Yelp
I had a delivery order of fish and chips, as well as, mussels. The fish was a tasty large piece of beer-battered cod with tarter sauce on the side. The chips or french fries came with a small container of malt vinegar. Of course delivery fish and chips is rarely ever crispy after a half hour or so of steaming in the container during transport. That is to be expected and this was no different. Nonetheless, this was a nice and fresh piece of fish and decent fries. The highlight of the meal was a 1 pound order of steamed mussels in a white wine, garlic sauce. This was exceptional and as good as if eaten in the restaurant...very sweet and fresh. Packing was well done and delivery time was fairly quick. I would recommend this restaurant especially the mussels.

Yelp
I lived for several Sundays since the place was close to my church. Excellent breakfast choices. Not a large place but fun location to go with a few friends. Service is good. Waiters are very friendly. Everything I tried on the menu was excellent.

Yelp
I and my bf passed this spot on a whim. It looked really interesting + had one of his favorite beers (old speckled hen), so we came back around to try it out. It's a cute little English-centric restaurant with about 5-6 tables, with one person up front to seat and one person in the back whipping up the food. He got the speckled hen and I got a Pinot Grigio. We shared the bangers and mash and the salad which were pretty tasty. We finished the meal with some bread banana pudding which warm and went nicely with the ice cream. Thoroughly enjoyed my time here and would love to visit again.

Yelp
Surprisingly good find, I'm not in the West Village much. A French-inspired menu was great for my quick lunch with a Champagne producer,

Yelp
My boyfriend and stumbled on this place on our last day in NYC as I was craving fish and chips. Oh my gosh it was so good- the fish was flaky, crisp, and delightful. My bf got the gazpacho soup of the day and it was very very good. Service was very attentive. Sitting outside on the beautiful afternoon was lovely and a great way to end our trip. Thank you Oscars Place!

Yelp
Cozy, down-to-Earth spot for a classic British breakfast/brunch (although the staff are definitely not British). The place is like a small, somewhat poorly-lit deli, but the brunch food is pretty good. I ordered the Smoked Salmon Eggs Benedict, which was very classic spread of eggs benedict, mashed potatoes, and a garden salad. The poached eggs were cooked well and the hollandaise sauce was nice and creamy and gave the English muffin a nice flavor. There could've been some more smoked salmon on there though. The mashed potatoes were mashed with with onions inside which made it extra tasty. The garden salad tasted fresh but had a bit too much dressing, which made it a bit sour at times. $20.50 was a fair price for this plate considering the portion size. The staff were average friendliness and the service speed was pretty quick. There are only a couple tables inside but there are several available outside too. The main thing they need to work on is the environment, as it is not very aesthetic. The kitchen/behind-the-counter area takes up basically half of the main indoor seating area and it was looking a bit disorganized and not particularly appealing. There are also packages of unsold drinks just stacked up by the walls. But I suppose to some, these give the place a sort of local, hole-in-the-wall kind of feel, but I can also see how others can find it a bit unattractive. Overall, I have not seen too many classic British brunch spots around, so if that's what you're looking for, then Oscar's Place is probably a very good option. With a bit of remodeling/redesigning, I can definitely see some greater potential for this restaurant, but it's already decent as is.

Yelp
Wonderful staff who make great good and are very accommodating. We sat indoors and ordered the English breakfast and Oscar's Burger. Really good food

Yelp
I went there last night and sat outside. So lovely. A quiet, calm night turned into an even more relaxing experience with my book, and the very very attentive (but not overbearing) service at this sweet, unassuming place. Loads of charm, courtesy and not at all inexpensive! I had the fried chicken with waffles and a beer! Was a dream dinner date (with me, my book and the West Village.) highly highly recommend. LOVE.

Yelp
Some of the best fish and chips in NYC, my girlfriend is from the UK and was looking for a good fish and chips spot in the city. We found it! The fish was perfectly battered and the restaurant had nice friendly vibes. Will definitely be back

Alan M.

Yelp
Totally unpretentious hole in the wall restaurant with best fish and chips in New York City! The fish is terrific and the french fries are terrific as well! Also excellent British beers. And love everything we have had. Very nice to sit outside! Have been there many times and hope to go back a lot!

Maya R.

Yelp
I am so delighted by this place! I was skeptical about ordering the mussels here because British cuisine and seafood don't sound like an obvious match to me, but they were the BEST mussels I've ever had in New York! Better than so many "seafood focused" restaurants. Everything we ordered was so good and so fresh. If that wasn't enough, the ambience is a 1000/10, so cozy and welcoming, and the service was spectacular. Oscar's is my new favorite restaurant!

Su S.

Yelp
Always amazing food from basically a hole in the wall- everything on point and I want the recipe for the crabmeat omelette.

Yelp
oh god I wrote "write" instead of "right", fuck, now you all must think I'm some sort of mortadell.

Yelp
First time here. It's cozy and owner/staff are very friendly. Love the menu selection, something comfort-related for everyone's taste. The chicken and waffles were OK, but the fried chicken was a tad dry. The beer stew was decent, but a bit too much wine and sweetness(?), but enjoyable. The chicken stew was the best of the 3 that we tried. Delicious! Hope this places sticks around.

Yelp
JUST FOUND MY NEW GO TO FISH AND CHIPS SPOT. I was really craving fish and chips but wanted a proper British restaurant, the reviews here looked good so decided to check it out. They offer outdoor seating and indoor seating. The outdoor seating is heated. The food here was AMAZING. It was way beyond my expectations and it's one of the best meals I've had in a while. Fish and chips: the fish was a whole fish filet, it was cooked to PERFECTION. So crispy and the fish was super fresh, very flaky. I was so content with the fish. The fries made this meal even better. The fries were thick cut fries, there was a huge serving of fries and they were the most ideal width. I love thick cut fries so this dish really hit home for me. Chicken stew: The chicken stew tasted like a very fancy shepherd's pie. There was a bunch of chicken in there. The sauce was SO FLAVORFUL. I took a first bite and was instantly amazed. The puff pastry that this dish came with was so fun to crack and so flaky, like a fancy croissant in texture. Also amazing. For dessert, we got a bread pudding. It was so nicely warmed and contrasted nicely with the ice cream on top. The chocolate coating on the outside just added to how decadent this dessert was. So great. 10/10 on this meal. I was so happy after this meal and I will DEFINITELY be back to check out more of the restaurant!

Yelp
I loved this little eatery. It's divey and tiny with such a fun vibe. The food was great and the service so prompt and friendly. I imagine they can't help but be prompt as it's four steps from the service counter to your table! Maybe even less! We arrived just a bit before noon on a Sunday and there was one table available. I believe the max number of diners that could pack in here would be about 24 people. The dining area is maybe 150 or so square feet. There's going to be a bit of elbow rubbing but it's all jolly good. I thought I would hear a British accent or two from staff, but none that day. Though everyone was so cheery, and they are well trained/experienced in moving effortlessly through the narrow spaces to serve the guests, as well as to assist guests in stashing their bags/coats and guiding people in and out the entry door. There's a single restroom and yeah, it's pretty small. But clean and functional. We wanted a good solid brunch and the "Full English" sounded great to me. Turned out to be even better than it sounded. Hot, fresh, varied, and delicious. A beautiful plate. I've heard that the Brits love their beans for breakfast and in keeping with the English way, put some on a piece of the accompanying warm toasty bread. Yum! Over easy eggs were perfect. My husband had the smoked salmon benedict and loved that too. The accompanying 'mash' was pretty interesting, I think it was a mashup of potato and turnip with some greens. Very special. He also commented that the tomato was absolutely delicious and this from someone who really does not like tomatoes! I was puzzled to see only salt shakers on the tables, no pepper - then the waiter came around and offered fresh ground pepper - so classy. Yelp check-in gets you a free tea or coffee and as of this writing, Oscar's is taking part in the Yelp cashback program. So you have even more reasons to give this place a try. They actually will take a reservation for a group of four or more. Otherwise, walk in and hope for the best. I imagine in bad weather or heavy coat weather it will be difficult if you have to wait for a table because there's not a lot of space to do so inside. Happily Spring is in the air so get yourself to Oscar's Place soon. I hope to return!

Yelp
Best fish & chips in the area, excellent english breakfast, and great service! Can't ask for any more

Yelp
I really loved this place. It was the first restaurant I ate at after restaurants were able to reopen. The gazpacho was excellent as was the egg salad sandwich. I'll definitely be back to support this small business.

Yelp
Oscar's Place is the place to go to for a full English breakfast in the West Village. The restaurant is super tiny, so I recommend going early or when it's nice out and they have an outdoor dining area in the front. The classic English breakfast is really delicious and hearty, and the chicken and waffles looked decadent and ginormous. I would like to return to try their fish and chips, and bangers & mash.
google avatar

McCord H.

Yelp
Love this place. Been here three times and it's my new neighborhood go to. Service is friendly, food is delicious, accurate and fair pricing. Will continue to come back. Thanks Neil!
google avatar

Krissy K.

Yelp
Oscar's Place is absolutely incredible! Oh, I love this restaurant so much. Hands down, they serve the best Full English Breakfast in the city. The chefs and servers are so so friendly, and they definitely add the charm to this cute, cozy restaurant. HIGHLY recommend!

Yelp
A west village treasure, our party of 3 stopped in for brunch on a recent Sunday. We were seated after a short 5 min wait and the proprietor bringing out another table to join the recently vacated 2 top whilst adjusting the umbrella for us all to be pleasantly shaded. He was wonderful. The menu has something for everyone and the food came out fresh and all together. Their hollandaise is lighter and more flavorful than I usually find on an eggs benny. We all cleaned our plates and then split the purist waffle for dessert - I'm not usually a waffle girl, but the tiny pockets of fluff inside the crisp exterior of theirs was supremely enjoyable. Looking forward to our next visit!
google avatar

Michelle R.

Yelp
This place wasn't crowded at 3:00 and we were able to eat outside right away. Boddington's was available to the delight of the with accompanying me. Having the chance to order a Full English for an ex-Pat is an opportunity that cannot be wasted. Beans seemed legit and the bacon was good. Some disappointment with the lack of black pudding but we're used to it by this point this side of the pond. Chips were good for American standards, not proper English chips.

Christin W.

Yelp
Such a wonderful neighborhood spot. The service is always amazing and friendly. The brunch is the best brunch in town and dinner is wonderful. Great charming spot
google avatar

Jenny I.

Yelp
British people get such a bad rep for being the culinary world's ugly child no one wants to play with. I mean sometimes that's a fair assessment but I'm all for giving a savory brekkie a chance. Also I just love the concept of an English breakfast. You basically get a feast for breakfast. And there is no way really to finish it all. The service was really lovely here. I wish there were more customers. Even if their food may need a little flavoring, it also needs so love too. One thing, I wish they had black pudding and Yorkshire pudding. Not that I could've touched them. I ended up taking half the plate home. But huge shoutout to their fresh sourdough bread which was heavenly. You can eat outside which I did and I got to people watch people walking their dogs. It feels like a great place for a Sunday morning brunch nook.
google avatar

Eileen F.

Yelp
I remember this place before it was Oscar's place but first time here today for lunch and have to say had the most delicious mushroom soup, so fresh and hot, followed by I would say the best fish and chips I've had for a long long time! The batter was crisp and it was a great piece of fish with proper chips and tarter sauce, I go out to Long Island a lot and go to seafood places but this was so good, the owner Neil was a great host and it seems to have quite a few regulars, the mussels looked delicious as well, I think this could be a regular for me, it's quite small inside but have outside as well and I like to be able to see the kitchen, had a couple of beers came out extremely happy!
google avatar

Yelp
Oscars Place is phenomenal!! One of my favorite stops when visiting NYC. It's a traditional British type of cafe. Went right when they opened for breakfast/ brunch and it started my day off perfectly! Oscar himself took our orders and is quite personable and a delight. Highly recommend any of the coffees and the freshly squeezed orange juice. Food was equally excellent and great portion sizes. This is a great little spot and I will definitely come back!
google avatar

Ka C.

Yelp
Came here with family for a weekday brunch. I got the Hudson omelette with a cappuccino, and I absolutely loved the mashed potato side. It's less greasy than the typical home fries from the diner. The omelette itself was also fluffy, just the right amount of salt, and full of cheese, ham and tomato. My cappuccino was a bit bolder than I would have liked, but with good foam. The waitstaff is also very friendly. I shall be back!

Chloe L.

Yelp
I found this place on Seated and had high hopes given previous reviews, but unfortunately both the service and the food was subpar. The waiter forgot our order and had to come back 5 minutes later to ask us for our entire order again, which would've been okay, but even afterwards he gave my friend regular coffee instead of the decaf she ordered (luckily she asked him before drinking it and he said it was not decaf). The food was really disappointing. I ordered the vegetarian English breakfast and the avocado was clearly overripe (multiple brown holes and mushy texture) and the beans were definitely underdone and still hard. The French toast was okay but overall, won't be returning again.
google avatar

Natalie W.

Yelp
A tiny gem! Great fish and chips and poached salmon in modest but comfortable atmosphere. Wonderful music playing from the Great American Songbook.
google avatar

Jon B.

Yelp
I really like this place due to its cozy , West Village appeal. First off , if you don't like small , tight areas then go elsewhere ( although I think this is part of the charm ). I've been here twice for brunch and both times it was great ! Very good service too . The menu is perfect offering many brunch choices such as a multitude of Benedict's and English breakfasts . Also, they had lunch available . I get the English breakfast and my friend got the chicken and avocado sandwich . They also have a nice beer / wine list . Sorry no photos - I forgot this time All in all - if you want a cozy brunch / lunch joint which is very simplistic and down to earth - this is your place.

Yelp
My go to breakfast spot when visiting NYC. Food is fresh, delicious and timely. Customer service is amazing. I love the mash potatoes when ordering an omelette. I enjoy eating outdoors and people watching as I wake up and get ready for the day. This place never disappoints. Oscar's Place is small and cozy but adorable.
google avatar

Nailah D.

Yelp
Oscar's Place greeted and seated me right away. I ordered a smoked salmon omelette which came with a fresh leafy green salad and mash potatoes mixed with leets. The best vegetarian omelette combination I ever had! For dessert, I tried the banana chocolate sauce and vanilla ice cream bread pudding, which was remarkable considering I'm not really fond of bread pudding. So for you bread pudding lovers, make sure to order :) Oscar's British restaurant is small, which you could miss it walking by, but huge on their hospitality, taste of food and dessert! West Village, NYC Best Restaurant!

Maggie L.

Yelp
This place is tiny with lots of people but it's worth the wait. Service isn't top notch (not bad, just too busy they don't have time I guess) but the food makes up for it. The English breakfast is so satisfying, and I wish I could've finished but it is yugeeee. There is so much variety on a plate, it's like a breakfast adventure you want to keep exploring. Heck I thought baked beans would be so weird but they're actually super good. The fish and chips were also great, tender flesh with crispy batter, also so flavorful for what it is. Classic English food that you've got to try at least once! Writing this review reminds me I need to go back soon. And so do you.
google avatar

Shawn S.

Yelp
Very solid English breakfast spot. Woke up and needed that full english and it did not disappoint, exactly what i was looking for. PG tips tea is a must and espresso was very good. Will for sure be back
google avatar

Vanessa S.

Yelp
I was really craving fish and chips, and kinda tired of the same old places in the city. It was a gamble and I won in the end. Oscar's was a cozy place that really could only fit a few but you didn't feel to crowded and you could enjoy the aromas of everyone's foods. I got of course the fish and chips plate and it comes with a perfect fish and lovely chips. The tarter sauce was pretty good as well. It hit the spot quiet well.
google avatar

Denisse G.

Yelp
Service was awesome. Food was delicious. The burgers were huge, cooked perfectly and came with chips - they were crunchy and lightly salted - yum. Perfect spot to grab a bite.

Yelp
Went for a lunch with my son at this terrific restaurant. The dining area is quaint. The quality and authenticity of the food/menu and the welcoming atmosphere makes this place outstanding. Dennis K

Yelp
An intimate corner location with a cozy British slant, Oscar's features a selection of breakfast options styled after the local morning traditions from across the pond. The place is small, but they take reservations, though the largest party they can sit is 5-6 people at the corner table in the back left corner of this space. There are two tables for 4, and another 2-3 tables for 2. On a sunny day they have outdoor sidewalk seating under red umbrellas enough for 10-12 people. These are set up as tables for two. Inside, the kitchen is basically right behind a bar area on the back right, and it's fun to watch the chef prep and cook. I highly recommend the English breakfast ($17), which is a hearty combination of two eggs, bacon, sausages, toast, grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, stewed beans and the mash of the day. I ordered the Arundel omelette ($14.75) which had bacon, onions, mushroom and spinach and came served with a side salad and mash. A second and third friend ordered the Eggs Cocotte ($15) and English breakfast omelette ($15.50) which both came with mash and side salads also. Service was courteous and quick, and we left very satisfied with our experience. As we were leaving we saw a berry French toast and a burger being served and they looked like great options to try next time. Bonus: Check in on yelp for a free coffee or tea!

Lerrel P.

Yelp
We visited this place and had the beer battered fish and chips + an English breakfast. It was underwhelming. The fries were average. The fish was average. The eggs were not cooked well. The whites were raw and yellow was fully cooked. The service was great. I just wish the food matched up as well.

D N.

Yelp
So thrilled to have found this place while in NY. If you are looking for a great spot to have a nice delicious meal then come to Oscar's Place. The atmosphere is warm and inviting due in large part to Neil. He and his team are great hosts and make sure you feel like a guest in their home whilst there. You can find a traditional English style breakfast here with the tradition Irish back bacon and myers pork sausage links. This was the main attraction for me since it's quite hard to find this in Seattle. My wife had the fried chicken and waffles which were also very delicious and come with a side of chips (French Fries). It's a short walk from here to the Christopher St-Sheridan Sq station where you can catch the 1 train to explore lower Manhattan if you'd like.

Yelp
Great local joint for breakfast. I got the Croque madame with fries and a salad. The mussels are also good, but I would pass on the fish and chips.
google avatar

Yelp
THIS PLACE IS SO CUTE Great spot for breakfast or brunch with a cute patio to watch all the babies and dogs go by! Note the inside is a little close but seems like a lot of people just get takeout? Anyway the bfast sandwiches are solid, coffee is strong, and the orange juice is made fresh AMAZING Worth a visit!!

Yelp
Waking a morning after too cold of rain, we wanted to get out and play in the world. Boy did we not know what good we were in for. Suckers for an Eater NY list, this spot came up on their "21 West Village places to try". About seven places in so far, when debating sunday brunch we decided to stroll by #18, Oscars Place. Chilly in fall coats, we checked out the street side menu. BAM! Kos eyes light up. Listed, a Vegetarian Croque. The Croque and more-so the Croque madame was always a jealous-sandwich the non-meat eater wanted. Oh the feelings of being left out of the party, someone who loves cheese and bread and eggs. Hurt like a seventh grader that didn't eat at the popular lunch table. Hurt no more. Oscars Place was going to serve Kos a Croque with spinach, tomato, gruyere and an egg on top, Madame. Total buy-in on the street. We ordered a pot of tea and Tello debated a sweet vs savory start to the morning. Back and forth he'd say "waffles or wake up eggs?" "Oatmeal or omelette?" Decided on the oatmeal with honey and a purist waffle, when the waiter squeezed over to our tiny corner he said "eggs Benedict with the daily mash." Well ok. As we waited we noticed the small space and tight corners. Pots and pans hanging above our heads. Cases of beer stacked by the door. Open kitchen. So small, Kos used the bathroom and they had to close the dishwasher to let her through. No back room. So small Tello overheard a city adolescent rue between sister and brother. "God, I hate you." Brother said, instead of helping his father decide where they would spend a likely privileged spring break. The food arrives and we are mostly quiet between our exchanges of "that looks good." "This is so good." "Have some of my fries." "What's in that mash?" The eggs cut just like they should. The bread was Amy's we think. Bread crusty and soft just as it should be. Both came with a salad that was simply dressed. No complaints. So happy to have this place in our rotation, in our neighborhood, in our memory. Who knows what was in that daily mash potato... But after that meal, who cares. Thank you for an unexpected start to a Sunday, Oscars Place! Also they had a cool beer menu, but it was too early - even for us.
