"Outta Sight Pizza expanded with a second shop in San Francisco, this time in the Chinatown neighborhood. The pizzas are mostly the same as the Tenderloin outpost, but this new location’s larger kitchen will allow co-owner Eric Ehler to play around more with the menu. The classics are always solid, but keep an eye on the specials, where slices like a recent butter chicken granny slice may pop up from time to time." - Paolo Bicchieri

"Chinatown’s only slice shop is thankfully an excellent one. Outta Sight, the sequel to the beloved Tenderloin spot, continues its legacy of fantastic thin-crust pizzas. The takeout counter serves a similar menu to the original—think slices and whole pies with classic toppings like pepperoni, sausage, and mushroom. But if you’re after something a little more exciting, they also have grandma-style specials with corn cheese or peking duck and hoisin. There’s limited standing room, or you can take your pizza to the benches at Portsmouth Square." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, lani conway, patrick wong
"A Chinatown slice shop that riffs on New York form while embracing Bay Area creativity: extra-large (about 18-inch) thin, chewy pies and by-the-slice service get a second bake for a crisp bottom, and the dough and toppings mix Midwest staples with California-seasonal ingredients. Flavor combos run wild, from Peking duck, butter chicken, and corn cheese to gas-station–style taco-meat slices or indulgent Dungeness crab with lemon aioli and heaps of herbs; the place also foregrounds skateboarding and hip-hop culture in its vibe and decor." - Becky Duffett
"The sequel to Outta Sight continues its reign of New York-ish style pizza supremacy, this time in the pie-deprived neighborhood of Chinatown. The new location nails the same bubbly, chewy crust and sauce that’ll make you want to kiss a tomato on the forehead. While they don't have their fantastic sandwiches at this outpost, there are some new additions, including grandma slices adorned with butter chicken or Peking duck and hoisin. They’re fun to try once or twice, but we’re always drawn to the regular thin-crust slices topped with pepperoni or portuguese sausage, or the Madonna (a classic cheese pie). There are no seats, so snag some space at the standing table or counter, rub elbows with your fellow cheese and sauce-inhalers, and admire the pizza-themed art and stained glass Pizza Hut lamp (in case you need yet another reminder of what this place is all about). Or just take your cardboard box to Portsmouth Square, and point any inevitably jealous onlookers in the right direction. photo credit: Carly Hackbarth photo credit: Carly Hackbarth photo credit: Carly Hackbarth Pause Unmute Food Rundown Madonna This cheese pie lets the sweet, slightly acidic tomato sauce have its moment. When in doubt, order this. photo credit: Carly Hackbarth Pepperoni Another classic that Outta Sight has perfected. They don’t skimp on the pepperoni, and the fresh basil and grated dry jack on top give each bite some extra oomph. photo credit: Carly Hackbarth APB Thinly sliced jalapeño and pineapple make a great supporting cast, but the real heavy hitter is the sweet, spam-like portuguese sausage. You need this slice. Peking Duck Some days this grandma slice (a nod to the neighborhood) is well-balanced, but others it’s overly sweet with hoisin. photo credit: Carly Hackbarth Ranch This housemade ranch is thick enough to patch a hole in some drywall. Use it for crust-dipping, and don't be surprised if you're tempted to lap up the dregs like a post-meal digestif." - Julia Chen
"The Tenderloin shop expanded to a Chinatown location near the Transamerica Pyramid, serving pizzas by the pie and slice and promising additional menu items in coming months such as wings and a ginger scallion chicken Caesar wrap." - Dianne de Guzman
