Oz. Tap House

I love the set up here. They give you a card and then you pour a glass or pint for yourself. There are lots of different things to try like beer, cider and wine. My favorite was the pineapple cider. You are charged by the ounce. To combat people over doing it, if you buy too much on your card that tracks your purchases it will shut you down. However the staff will talk to you and if you aren't drunk they reboot your card so you can have a few more. There is also options for table service. You scan from your chair/table the qr code and order food etc and it's brought to your table. Indoor outdoor seating is available there are lawn games etc. If you have kids, this place is chill about that but it gets a bit chaotic when the parents don't keep tabs on their kids. 🤪 The rule of thumb should be if you as an adult would not run between strangers' tables and chairs playing freeze tag then you should make sure you're kids aren't doing that either.

Laid back fun vibe with self serve beer wine and cocktails. It was fun to pour my own flight with whatever I felt like tasting. I enjoyed the freshness of the protein salad- the jr pretzel was crispy on the outside and soft and warm on the inside. The crispy chicken cobb was the perfect blend of lettuce and Cobb elements. Looking forward to coming back.

Wings here are huge and cooked perfectly! I think the menu had a good variety of bar foods and comfort foods. My fried chicken sandwich was a little dry even with the save it came with but my waitress gave me some ranch which was helpful.

We’ve dined and ordered delivery so many times from Oz and have always loved it. Unfortunately, it appears things have changed. Just ordered a burger for delivery and despite ordering it medium rare, I received a burger that was completely burnt on the outside, dry as a bone inside, very little pink and so salty my lips are burning. The rest of our order was of very poor quality. So disappointed. They’ve really gone downhill. Doubt we will be coming back.

I was told that this is the first self serve tap room in Austin. I must say it’s a pretty cool concept. You start off by checking in with the front counter where they’ll take your debit/credit card for an easy experience. You’ll be given an access card that works with their tap system, this is how your tab is accounted for. After, you’ll make your way to the tap wall where you can select from a number of beers, wines or mixed drinks. You’ll use your access card to select the desired drink. Each tap option has a display where you can access more info about a drink. You’re charged by the ounce of your desired drink. Although, I didn’t have any food, their selections of bites looked tasty. Checking out is super easy, you simply drop your access card into any of the buckets as you walk out, each is labeled with the percentage of gratuity you decide to contribute, making the check out hassle free. The only complaint I would have is that the price of ounce of drink is a little over standard pricing. Maybe they have applied a fee for the experience, not sure. I would definitely pay them a visit again. Cheers.

This place is super casual, but in a great way. You can purchase a drink card and serve yourself as much beer, wine, or cocktails . You scan your card and pour. Once done, you place your card in a tip bucket on the way out. Their old fashion on tap used Buffalo Trace and was amazing. The nachos and pizza rolls were delish. Cute place!

2222’s local family style watering hole that happens to have some food. If you live in the neighborhood this is an easy spot to take the whole family and everyone gets a little something for them. The price is steep for what you get, but where it is located it is king of its hill. The kids like the playground and that there is a little fridge for them to choose their drinks from. The adults like the “adult beverage options” with a wall of beer and wine taps. Local favorite ice cream brand flavor Lick is available for after your meal. Solid local watering hole that has food.

My kids and I love oz tap house and find ourselves eating here or ordering to-go pretty regularly. Love the 'pour your own beer' wall where you simply insert a pour card and pour however much beer, wine, even cocktails that you want. You can try anything and whatever size. I love the vast variety of options available. The food is also GREAT. They have some unique menu options and it's not typical bar food. They go out of their way with fresh ingredients. The service is always great and they have put a lot of work into the outdoor area and it shows. I love the lights and the lawn chairs where you can go and relax with friends/family. Love this place

Can't believe we've been sleeping on this place. When you walk in, you order first then go sit down. Everything from their starters to their meals and drinks of course were great! They have a lot of options for starters and we got the Chip and Dip trio to start, actually really good: guac, salsa and queso. Fish tacos were good and crispy and not fishy. The burger was good and cooked good and seasoned well and the sweet potato fries were great. Of course if you like beer this is a great place for tasting. Lots of seating inside but also a good place to go if you like outside seating which is hard to find around here sometimes. There are TVs inside to watch the game. We have already been back a few times.

Where else can you get a beer flight that ends with an old fashion? This place continues to be a staple in our life. Literally nothing to complain about. Fantastic happy hour, great play set for kids, and fantastic employees.

Update 02-23-2024 We stopped by OZ. Tap House for a quick bite after a long day spent out and about. Even though it was about 6:30pm, the place was not that crowded. We needed to be briefed on "the process" again, open a tab, order food, get your drink cards, serve yourself at the tappers. The restaurant has about 40 self-serve tappers, wine, beer (lots) and mixed drinks. Slide your card into the tap machine, pull the tap, shut off when you have as much as you want. Simple. We had Moscow Mules this time, very delicious, moderate amount of alcohol included (about the strength of a beer). For food the table ordered the fried fish tacos, the ahi tuna tacos (rare), the steak salad and the Blue burger. All were very good, and the food came out fast! The tacos were in flour tortillas, fried fish and ahi tuna were perfectly cooked, the veggies and all on top crisp and fresh. We requested and received a little jalapeno hot sauce, that was the perfect topper for the tacos. The steak salad was huge, the steak plentiful and cooked perfectly at medium rare. The dressing was good as well. Al the ingredients were fresh, and the combination of extras worked well. The blue burger may have been the runaway star this time. Expertly cooked to medium rare, crispy bacon on point, caramelized onions, and a generous heap of blue cheese crumbles. The fries were excellent. Oz. Tap House is very good for what it is meant to be. Easy access top-shelf bar food/gastropub, family friendly, great place to hang and chat, and the self-serve beverages are a unique concept, and fun! Highly recommend Oz. Tap House!

First time here. The ambiance was nice clean and very roomy. Service was good too. They help you with any questions you might have. Is a self poor beer, wine, and more. We found out the meter when you pour make sure you pour your right quantity.

Recommended by someone in the neighborhood. Something on the menu for everyone. I really wish I could have tried even a few of the sours/ales/IPAs/wines on tap (had to work later). You can try everything by the ounce (hence the name). There's a lovely play area outside for the children, and the service was much more attentive than usual for a "place your order at the counter" establishment. You have to look carefully; Oz. Tap House is tucked into a corner and not easily visible from the street. If you have good GPS, you'll find it easily enough.

We stopped in for a quick bite & some drinks - there was a dog friendly patio area which was perfect since we had our doggo with us! We ordered some food to share for lunch: Ahi Tuna Salad: Generous portion size with a very light and flavorful dressing Steak Protein Bowl: Super tasty, everything mixed well together Onion Rings: Lightly battered and seasoned well Love that we can select and pour our own drinks, they even had sour beers! Would absolutely be coming by again!

This is probably the most loved restaurant/bar in all of River Place. Super family friendly with an outdoor patio and playground. Great beer, wine, cider. Food is always consistent and comes out lightening fast. There's also a good selection of healthy salads and fried bar food. I love the fact that all the alcohol is on self serve tap so no waiting on your server and judgement when you're on your 5th glass of wine.

My fiancé and I were extremely disappointed by our experience. We came at lunch and waited over an hour for our food. A few staff members walked around and never came to check on our table. Eventually I went to the counter to ask for an update and was informed they forgot to put the order through to the kitchen. They said they would rush order it but was nearly another 30 minutes. Once it arrived we got no apology and no compensation for the issue given it took over 2 hours for our burgers to arrive. We were very excited to try this place as we love trying new, local beers but given the circumstances we left frustrated. We had afternoon plans we were forced to cancel due to how long this lunch took. The food however was good but not worth the time.

The food was good. I asked for no pink and had a lot of pink. I ended up with a large bloody juice pile on my plate. Not what I want when eating a hamburger. The fries were tasty. The pretzel tasted like a normal pretzel. The queso was okay. It was not amazing but it was good bar food. There really isn't service. You order at the counter and get your own drinks. They do bring out your food. The vibe was empty but had a wine/beer wall. They had an outdoor playground for kids which is smart. I wouldn't say I would go back. The burger was not banging enough.

i seriously love this place! specifically the burgers. the burgers are just so tasty; the patty is super juicy and flavorful. staff is always friendly and i like the outdoor seating.

Tried this place while out Glamping down by Creek Travis...cool joint and really innovative idea. Manager here was nice and explained how the whole concept works. He even topped off my ping since there was a lot of foam (first tap of the day). I stuck with beer but wife got wine...been selection is outstanding and all Texas craft. Did get some food...the Trio chips were outstanding and included some fresh guacamole, fire roasted salsa, and queso. The guy that brought the food out looked like he wanted to be anywhere but there that day and was not very friendly. Rest of the staff was great. Just a cool joint...will give another visit when we're back on that side of town.

Absolutely love Oz. Came here first time because it was close by, and we were shocked by how amazing the food was at a tap house. The burgers being amazing I get, but the quality of seafood and salads they have means definitely surprising. That said, we became absolute regulars because of the staff. Yes, yes the drinks are fantastic too, but the manager Brad and all the super friendly and helpful servers like Cole, keep us and our fur babies coming back every week.

The food was top notch. Amazing burger (I got the Blue/Bleu). And the onion rings are among the best. Service is ordering at a counter; not ideal. But it works. Plus you get to serve yourself off of the beer wall. Which is good and bad I guess. Happy hour prices are great for beers. You can get a pint for $3. The selection of beers is less than I expected. But they have some fun options like mixed drinks and wine/cider. There are three big TVs, indoor outdoor and even a playscape for the kids. It's a little echoey. But the ambiance is nice. Decor is simple. Happy hour food too. 3-6pm. Better than expected. Try it.

Self-serve beer tap hot fresh food very friendly staff they said that they just open up a couple weeks ago for being new. They were executing at a high-level.

Great food. Wonderful beers etc on tap. The self serve system is a hoot. Friendly management and waitstaff. Been coming for years for pregame Highschool sports events. They support the HS teams financially. One of those places that you can't help but root for to be successful for many years to come Cole asked me to leave this review and his enthusiasm easily sold us.

Cannot say enough positive things about the food here. We had the ahi tuna salad and the Brie burger. The flavor combinations are perfect. They have several different beers on tap and it is self-serve. Each beer is priced per ounce and you can pour as much or as little as you want. I wish I lived closer as this would be a no-brained for date night. You can also take the kids as they have a playground and other games outside.

They have been hosting Georgia Tech game-watching parties for us. It's great to order when we want. Get beer when we want. And a playground for the kids! Our group is loving this location. Love the salads especially.

Love this place! The nicest staff, Victoria always is there to great us when we come for lunch or dinner. The menu is always the freshest ingredients. I suggest the bbq chicken salad and you can't go wrong with their burgers! Great for families or a date night on the patio. Beer selection is on point!

My wife and I travel frequently to Austin and have for a number of years. With two of our children here, we have dined out at many of Austin's finest restaurants. I am a partner in a number of businesses in Sonoma County, California, including golf courses, theaters and a restaurant. I am rarely motivated to write a restaurant review, particularly a glowing review. My wife found Oz. Tap House online and it was very close to our hotel. My personal experience with tap houses is that they have great beer, but mediocre food and generally less than mediocre service. I went online and looked at the menu, still not particularly enthusiastic. But I decided to place a dinner order for my wife and I and was immediately blown away by the online ordering system. Virtually every menu item can be custom ordered in a dizzying variety of ways. I even remarked to my wife that it was the finest online ordering software that I had ever seen. But ordering is one thing and execution is another. My wife ordered the Oz. House Burger (Beef), cooked medium, substituting lettuce wrap for the bun and adding avocado with a small avocado jalapeno side salad. Again, the customization options were many. I ordered the Charcuterie Pretzel and a Side Caesar Salad, with no croutons. I knew the restaurant was only a couple of minute drive, but even then the speed of the announcement of the projected pickup time and the time itself was amazing; less than 15 minutes. When I picked up the meals at curbside, I told the waitress how impressed I had been with the online ordering system and she thanked me and told me she would have to tell her husband. Turns out Krista and her husband, Sean, own and operate the restaurant. I had assumed with the level of sophistication that it must be a franchise or chain, but no, Oz. is a true mom and pop restaurant. When leaving I told Krista that the proof would be in (i) whether the delivered food matched the order and (ii) the quality of the food. I had barely started eating when my wife announced that her salad was spectacular and the burger one of the best she had ever had. My meal was every bit as impressive. Again, uncharacteristically for me, I called Krista (even though the restaurant was hopping and I knew she was busy), just to tell her that the food was as good or better than the service. This is as advertised: true farm-to-market fare, exceedingly fresh, expertly prepared as ordered and quickly delivered. Yes, Oz. may not have McDonald's prices, but it has infinitely superior food, expertly prepared and efficiently delivered. We admittedly didn't even try what was probably the standout feature of the restaurant: the beer. I assume if the restaurant part of the tap house was spectacular, the beer side of it must be even more so. Next time. Do yourself a favor and try the Oz. Tap House. My very best wishes to Krista and Sean on a very successful business in a tough industry.

Great burgers. It's still too noisy and the lighting is terrible but, the quality of the food makes up for it.

This place is da bomb! You serve your own Beer, Wine, or Cocktails. To make it even better their food is delicious. I'm so glad the wife found this one and recommended it. I'd give it 5 Stars but we like Table Service so automatic deduction for that but other than that LOVE this place!

Food is always so delicious, must have wings!! Service with Victoria is always great. She really listens to customers needs and goes above and beyond. This place is great to relax and enjoy a drink. Very clean.

I ordered the cod fish with onion rings and kids' strips to go. Cons: The fish and onion rings had no seasoning whatsoever. The onion rings breading was practically nonexistent and soggy and covered in vinegar cause some genius had the bright idea to put the plastic vinegar cup inside another container of hot food... WHY!?! The cup opened (becoming warped due to the excessive heat) and soaked the onion rings and fish... YUCK!!!!! Why don't you have sustainable packaging so that this doesn't happen? That would also help not to have soggy food upon delivery. Pro: Strips were ok.

We picked up a bunch of Fish & Chips. All of them burnt/over cooked, including burnt fries. This on a Thursday. Come on chef, forgot to change fryer oil? Should be done on Tuesday, industry wide. What happened to the pride a chef took, passing perfect food out to customers? Service was great, Ambiance perfect. A star each. Food, nada thumbs down.

It's a family staple; we are there at least twice per week. I LOVE the wall of taps do-it-yourself style, and our four-year-old LOVES the playground.

I'd say the burger and salad I had were very average. What brought the rating to a 4 star was the brussel sprouts which were absolutely amazing. Crispy, flavorful, savory but paired with the sweet peppers for a perfect balance. They were seriously addictive and a must to try. This place had a cool ambience too, where you order at the counter and serve your own beer/wine from the tap.

This is our local bar that we always enjoy coming back to. But Cole has gone out of his way to make our regular experience that much better. Thanks Cole, Brad, & the rest of the staff for making Oz the best regular Tap House in Austin!

This restaurant turned off the Cowboys game with 2 Minutes left and gave ZERO explanation. Five tables all around us asked nicely for the TVs to be turned back on and the manager told us to "get the f*** out". Needless to say nobody tipped and we will never be back again

We love Oz. Tap House!! The drinks are really fun to choose from, and they have a great selection! My kids love the charcuterie board jr. and the burgers are so good! They also have a great play area for the kids. The employees are also very nice and helpful. Love to have this restaurant close by!!

My boyfriend and I came here while staying in town at a nearby hotel. It is such a cool concept and I'm glad we were able to try it. There's indoor and outdoor seating, and the patio is dog friendly. When arriving you check in at the counter - they'll give you your "tap card", and you can order food here as well. The tap wall had about 40 choices and you can do pours of as much or as little as you want to try them. My boyfriend and I each tried 3 beers while here and enjoyed most of them. The online menu had pretty good flavor info for most of them, so you could tell what you were getting. A lot of them also seemed to be local beers which makes it even better! We shared the nachos and some carnitas tacos. Both tasted great, and you could tell that they were homemade. I preferred the nachos but you can't go wrong with either. My only complaint (and reason for 4 stars vs 5) is because the menu pricing they had online on their provided menu did not match what we were charged for food. Otherwise service was great, and there were always employees walking around cleaning, answering questions etc.

This place is becoming outr to go place. Happy hour is great and staff are very pleasant. They also have a wide variety of food!!!

The food is good just a bit heavy and/or greasy at times. The ambiance is great. Adults can sit and relax. Kids can play on the playground. Service is okay. When ordering, the staff is friendly but I feel that once the food is served, it stops there. Maybe the staff could check on the customers periodically, take their empty plates, etc. and possibly assist them with their drinks even though I know it is pretty much self serve. It's the little things that matter.

What an amazing experience we had here. First, the food was delicious. So many good choices and was brought to our table so quickly. But the big draw for me was the self serve taps! They give you a card that is aligned with your credit card and you put this card in the spot on the tap that you want. It calculates the ounces (get it-the name of the restaurant!) and charges you for how much you pour. This way you can try several different drinks without paying for a full glass. Genius! We ate inside on a Sunday afternoon & it wasn't crowded. The patio looked packed though. I must go back soon.

=This place is I'm sorry a bit of a ripoff. First you have to go this convoluted process to get a beer. You're essentially pouring your own beer. It's so out of the ordinary they need a staff person there to guide you thru it. Kinda makes you long for the experience of simply walking into a bar and ordering a beer. But the real surprise was the tab, $9+!! And this was supposed to be during happy hour! Needless to say, I was not 'happy'!! Next time I'll let the pros do it and save myself a few bucks, which needless to say won't be at this place!!

Great food, reasonable prices and very fast. They do eat in and take out. Oh, and the beer, wine and cocktails are fabulous!

This place is my go to spot after hiking at riverplace trail. If you're not a good pourer you may be disappointed with the amount of foam you pay for. But the staff is usually very helpful and will help you out if you're struggling. For food, I usually get their wings which are 10/10. Good ratio of sauce to meat and it had a good crisp on the outside without drying out the meat. This time, I tried their Bella's charcuterie - which was cute and satisfying. Fun fact - their kids meal is for anyone of the ages of 0-101. Big fan of kids meal bc most times homegirl doesn't want leftovers. Closing out is a breeze bc they have tip jars up front where you can drop your card (that you use to get beers) and just leave. The vibe is really chill, and I love the outside patio (when it's not blazing hot).

Super fun and family friendly restaurant and a beer garden! I learnt it is the very first Texas' self-serve establishment! Their PourMyBeer system offers something for everyone, besides a great selection of local craft beers, they also have a variety of cocktails and wines! Try their margaritas if that is your thing. I personally love Hazy IPAs so the Electric Jellyfish is my jam! The food is awesome with lots of great vegetarian options, I love their veggie burger and I have tried multiple salads, too. All of them were fantastic! The staff is very welcoming and accommodating as I have organized multiple work outings with them, not to mention the owners are awesome as well! Definitely a great spot. I love coming back!

10/10 experience! I came to ATX with friends for the long weekend and we stopped here for dinner because it was close to us and am so glad we did. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was some of the best I've had. I will definitely be going back!! It was incredibly quick to get our food ordered and brought to our table, plenty of good beers to choose from, and we were checked on a few times throughout our time to make sure we were doing okay. HIGHLY recommend the Prosciutto Mac. It was by far my favorite. The charcuterie pretzel was great also. The quesadilla was good but it had a bit of spice to it.

Love Oz House - I usually pass through about once a week for Happy Hour! All the staff is so friendly and helpful (and prompt!). Aishlyn was stellar when we needed help and so sweet. Just another reason to keep coming back! Great food and well-run biz.

We loved the atmosphere here! Sitting outside on the upper patio for dinner was a fun experience. We had the carnitas nachos, brie and berry burger and chicken caesar salad. Cole was super helpful always checking in on us and even brought us waters when we forgot to get our own. All in all it was a lovely and lively dining experience. They have a playground, games and open fields for kids to play while the adults mingle amongst friends/family.

Great beer. Good salads. Hand made burgers. Ok fries. Slow service. Good lunches if you are not in a hurry.

Ya know what, I loved this place. We came for the patio,but it was kind of crowded so we sat inside. We were greeted when we walked in,had the process explained etc. Beers, a couple of ciders,and wines on tap. Pretty cool. I did semi accidentally pour myself 9 oz of wine, so it was a $12 glass, not what I'd typically spend on a glass of wine, but I also typically wouldn't be served 9 oz. Our food came out quickly and it was really good! I don't know much it was (folks mentioned auomatic gratuity) bc my husband paid, but it was great and we will definitely come back. They had a playground in the back that we saw,which would be great to come to with our lil people.

Food was ok but over priced, services was not to expectation, I didnt felt relaxed to be honest. Wont be going back for sure.

Great staff, food quality and selection and the self serve tap wall makes things fun and convenient. There was also a great musician playing when we stopped which added to the experience.
