Pacifico - Review - Hayes Valley - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Pacifico is a Colombian pop-up that’s doing a residency at B-Side (inside SFJAZZ) in Hayes Valley. The dinner menu includes steak frites with chimichurri and halibut ceviche—and brunch is coming soon. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Julia Chen

Here Are the Hottest Pop-Ups to Watch in the San Francisco Bay Area Right Now for 2024 | Eater SF

"Playing off chef Daniel Morales Vallejo’s Colombian background, Pacifico fuses that heritage with ingredients and techniques he’s picked up while working at San Francisco restaurants, including La Mar. Morales Vallejo serves dishes such as pork belly ceviche made with green papaya, basil, and fish sauce, while grilled octopus is presented with fingerling potatoes, guayaba, and Peruvian-style corn—a new take on Colombian food filtered through Northern California ingredients and culture." - Dianne de Guzman

Wow — what a surprise! This place really impressed me — not just with the menu but with the incredible flavors! The chef did an amazing job. We started with the ceviche — OMG, it was melting in my mouth, so fresh and delicious. I loved the fusion and the combination of Latin flavors. Then came the octopus — one of my favorites! So tender and flavorful, definitely a must-try. The steak was perfectly cooked, honestly one of the best I’ve had. But the cherry on top was the dessert! I usually don’t like sweets, but wow — this one was on another level, absolutely delicious. Service was beyond what I expected — warm, attentive, and friendly. I wanted to try authentic Colombian-Latin food, and this is definitely the place to go!

Walking around the Franklin St area looking for brunch, I stumbled upon a hidden gem — a new Colombian restaurant inside the SFJAZZ building! 🎶🇨🇴 Honestly, I wouldn’t have known Pacifico Restaurant was there (no sign on the door 😅), but wow — what a surprise! The food was incredibly delicious — we tried the ceviche with calamari and Dungeness crab Omelet, served with arepas, plus their Colombian cheese bread was so tasty! 🦀🫓🧀 Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit — highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area! 🙌✨

Delicious restaurant in the heart of San Francisco! I’m originally from Miami and had seen a video of their food, so when I came, I naturally had to try it out. I’m Colombian, and honestly, the Cazuela de Mariscos was the best I’ve ever had. The ceviche and empanadas were also finger-licking good! Also the dessert of merengon was just wow. My friend and I had a great time, the restaurant’s vibe is relaxed and cultural, especially with SF Jazz right next door. The service was outstanding, and the owner, Laura, made us feel right at home. Congratulations to Chef Daniel, who has truly perfected the art of Colombian fusion. A must try when visiting the Bay Area. We’ll be back soon.

The food was absolutely delicious and incredibly creative! You can’t miss the cazuela de mariscos, it’s unforgettable. Same with the grilled octopus, it was beyond delicious. The strawberry soursop merengon was the best I’ve ever had. The ambience is amazing, the service is super friendly, and I felt so welcome from the moment I walked in. Definitely coming back!

Excellent Colombian cuisine. We had the fish cebiche and whole fish with coconut rice and plantains, and both were perfectly executed! I'll definitely be back to try all the other dishes and the dinner menu.

This is one of the best restaurants in SF I’ve been! The food is absolutely delicious and the owners are so kind. It’s almost impossible to choose one option, but the caldo de costilla, the ceviche, and the empanadas colombianas are my favorites! The pescado frito is also amazing and great to share :) Of course the Colombia coffee is a must!

Pacifico was absolutely delicious! All the flavors were perfectly incorporated and every bite was exquisite. The presentation of the dish was beautiful, and overall, the food was outstanding. On top of that, Lau and Daniel are incredible people — we’re so happy we got to visit and we can’t wait to come back soon!

Came here for brunch and it was delicious. My only regret was that I didn’t come hungrier. The verano sin alcohol was a very refreshing non alcoholic drink. My partner and I shared the beef empanadas - nice and crispy. The hogao was incredibly fresh and served in an authentic ceramic pot. For entrees, we had the crab arepa de huevo and the calentado, both were delicious! If you’ve never had a Colombian arepa de huevo (an arepa with an egg inside), this is the perfect place to try it! The crab omelette on the side was the perfect unique touch! We will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu. The staff was very attentive and the salsa vibes were just right! I’m super excited for this South American restaurant in SF!
