The Best Coffee Bars in Los Angeles

"Paisita, a new coffee shop from the Amigo Coffee Roasters folks in a sleepy strip mall in Venice, is an immediate day brightener. The cafe inside is breezy, vinyl records propped on the wall; a nearby pastry case holds warm empanadas in flavors like ham and cheese and carne, or minced beef. The kitchen also now slings breakfast and lunch dishes (try the breakfast burrito with chorizo or chilaquiles in the morning; the spicy Macho Caesar wrap at lunch). But what you’re here for is probably the coffee. Go for The Glory, half-sweet, with dulce de leche, espresso, and a dusting of cinnamon." - Mona Holmes, Rebecca Roland

Paisita Cafe - Review - Venice - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Heavily Instagrammed coffee shops are ubiquitous near Abbott Kinney, but it doesn’t take an influencer shoutout to see why Paista Cafe is a cool hang. This daytime cafe spins vinyl, there’s wifi and plenty of parking, and its laidback, beachy feel makes it a comfy place to kill a few hours with strong Salvadoran coffee and empanadas. Paisita also does brunch-y foods well, like chilaquiles dumped on top of salty frijoles and a solid spicy chicken caesar wrap stuffed with chewy croutons. Head here when you need a neighborhood spot to take breakfast meetings and not deal with Venice crowds. Food Rundown photo credit: Sylvio Martins Chilaquiles These are some good chilaquiles. The salsa roja has a little heat, the tortilla chips are soft enough to smear onto your fork but still hold their shape, and they don’t neglect the essential crumbled cotija on top. photo credit: Sylvio Martins Macho Chicken Caesar Wrap Apart from the spicy caesar dressing that isn’t all that spicy, everything in this chicken caesar wrap gets the job done. The best part is definitely the chewy croutons (which is the case for most caesar salads)." - Sylvio Martins

Loved Paisita! The cafe is cute and has beach vibes. There are a couple tables inside and plenty of outside seating, which is great for LA warm weather. The cafe is steady busy but the service is great and the coffee is pretty good. Went there a second time and got a smoothie and some food. The milanesa sandwich was delicious with a little bit of spice to it. Burritos also pretty good. Parking on-site, although for us it was a 1 minute walk from our hotel. I hope to go back when I'm in the area again.

FINALLY a walkable coffee shop with glassware! Coffee is superb, vibes are immaculate and the staff is great. This place manages to strike that happy medium between unpretentious and that Venice Vibe™️ that so many places often overshoot one way or the other. Outdoor seating out both doors is genius as it’s located right at the Abbott/Washington split. I’ll be here every day.

Great new funky spot in the hood… Food so far was great, the house made empanada’s and Chimichuri is 👌🏼 and they spin real vinyl which is cool too. The Coffee and service were on point, and they have a cute little sunny Patio to lounge around —-> A++

Google
Mediocre coffee, but the food was incredibly disappointing—especially for the price. I paid $17 for a tiny “asada”burrito that tasted like something you’d get from Taco Bell(on a bad day. It was filled with undercooked rice more than anything), which is just unacceptable. The 15-minute wait for the food would’ve been fine if the food had been fresh or flavorful, but it was neither. I really expected more, and honestly, it felt like a total letdown. The vibe is cool, but i’m not sure this place will be around long. Side note: for a place called Paisita Cafe, there is no paisa in sight. 👀

Great coffee, pastries (empanadas!), and relaxing atmosphere. Easy parking as well. We bought a bag of beans to take home as we loved the coffee.

Yelp
Pura Paisa! Best coffee shop on the west side to drop in for a quick drip (Plenty of parking). Or post up for an hour, pull out a book and grab a breakfast burrito it's bomb! If the empanadas aren't already sold out grab one. Don't forget the chimichuri! The staff is great. Brings a nice local vibe and dog friendly.

Yelp
A new coffee shop has opened near Venice Beach and it is simply delightful. Paisita is a new cafe that is focusing on El Salvadoran coffee and pairing them with delicious empanadas and baked goods. There's plenty of seating inside and a patio right out front with more tables to sit at and a small patio in the back if it gets too crowded in front. The staff here were friendly and welcoming when I walked in and offered some of their favorite suggestions and I got their special "The Glory" which was a latte with dulce de leche, espresso, and cinnamon and it was sweet and refreshing and it perked me up! The beef emapanda I got was freshly made and had a good amount of beef inside and the chimichurri sauce on the side was a great pairing. The Mascarpone cake was a surprise and one of the best cakes I've had recently. It was moist and sweet on the inside and had a great texture on the outside. I would definitely order this every time I stopped by! This is a great new coffee shop in the area and I highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Newest member to the Venice block, not yet even being there for a month! When you found a cafe in Abbot Kinney that had plenty of dedicated parking spaces, I bet you wouldn't dare to disagree that it's big win. The spot was flawlessly crafted, giving that slow relaxing vibe, just perfectly suited the area being close to Venice beach. Plenty of outdoor seats to get sun-kissed, as well as few indoor ones. They even had petite patio at the back. The owners were super nice and service was swift. They served plenty of pastries, empanadas, even apparently breakfast burritos. I got their Mascarpone cake and it's luscious with light spongy texture. As for coffee, I was trying to be more 'experimental', going for their 'Gloria', which was basically latte with dulce de leche and hint of cinnamon. I surely made the right choice as I loved it so much, being not overly sweet and even the cinnamon wasn't overpowering. Having them around the neighborhood was such pleasure!

Yelp
This place is unexpectedly amazing. The coffee is some of the best I've had in LA and the food is so underrated. We had the empanadas, the breakfast burrito, steak sandwich and chicken Caesar wrap and loved everything. We will definitely be back, especially since there is a parking lot too!

Yelp
Lovely café with well-prepared coffee, very friendly staff, a nice place to sit inside and outside where dogs feel welcome. Pastries and empanadas are delicious as well. Nice alternative spot on the south end of Abbot-Kinney.

Yelp
It's unassuming. But this place has so much character. Their staff was so helpful. I got a trio of their empanadas which were delicious. Apparently they have a breakfast burrito that slaps. Happy to have it in the hood. Look forward to frequenting the place. Paisita m. A great name for a great neighborhood addition says me.
