Le Palais

"After the departure of the Macanese chef, the kitchen is now helmed by the Hongkonger well-versed in Cantonese cooking. Rest assured that signature dishes like crispy Cantonese-style roast duck, Peking duck and white gourd stuffed with shrimp and crabmeat still taste as good as ever. Pre-order these items to avoid missing out. For dim sum, try Chinese spinach and salted egg dumplings with a colourful filling enrobed in a translucent skin." - Michelin Inspector

Artbrosia

"A fine dining concept from celebrated chef Massimiliano Musso, Artbrosia is helmed by his most-trusted aides who execute his culinary vision faithfully. The Piedmontese-inspired tasting menu pays homage to his granny’s comforting dishes, jazzed up by artful plating and the ingenious use of local ingredients. The dimly-lit room imparts understated luxury with a glass-clad wine cellar that houses a well-curated Italian collection." - Michelin Inspector

"Exemplifying the term centrally located, the Sino-French themed Palais de Chine is within the original (and much smaller) city of Taipei, once surrounded by the last city wall built during the late Ching dynasty. Like the neighborhood to which it belongs, the Palais de Chine incorporates elements both ultra-modern and clearly classical. Rooms are cool and refined, equipped with imported cloud-soft beds, 40-inch flat-screen monitors, full broadband wireless, and individual coffeemakers. It’s in the hotel’s common areas that touches of antiquity truly abound, from faux-antique furniture (from both China and France), delicate flower arrangements, and dark wood paneling. A high-rise hotel in a deeply urban setting, the Palais de Chine is somewhat lacking in natural daylight, making it an excellent roost for urban night owls."

20 Restaurants Lauded With Stars In MICHELIN Guide Taipei 2018

"Chef Chan moved to Taiwan from Macau nearly 20 years ago and specialises in Cantonese cuisine of the highest quality. The lavishly furnished dining room feels modern and chic, but with nice traditional touches such as ceramic art, calligraphy and paintings. The cooking is truly outstanding, with the Cantonese-style crispy roast duck, the tofu dishes and the baked egg custard tarts especially impressive; consider pre-ordering the roast baby duck. Service is thoughtful and friendly." - Kenneth Goh

Great location - right next to the biggest subway, high speed train and airport train stations. Service is excellent, everyone is nice and willing to help with whatever problems we had. The room is spacious considering the location. It also has a hot tub. All and all, I highly recommend anyone who is willing to pay a bit more for all the convenience for visiting Taipei.

Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Every staff member I met was wonderful. Special thanks to Lucy, whose warmth and effort truly made my stay more comfortable. Lobby staff were consistently kind and attentive; staff on the first floor felt less engaged by comparison. Facilities ⭐⭐☆☆☆ Temperature control: Even on the Executive Floor, hallways were hot during the day—almost as if the air-conditioning only runs at night. Gym: Tiny and oddly laid out. There isn’t even a basic bench, just several unusual machines I’ve never seen before. Room ⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Very spacious, but noticeably humid. I recommend requesting a dehumidifier when you check in. Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect—steps from Taipei Main Station, with Q Square mall right next door for food and shopping. “Eco-friendly” policy ⭐☆☆☆☆ The hotel omits essentials like toothpaste and toothbrushes, then sells them at the lobby for about $5. If the goal is truly sustainability, offer these only on request at no extra charge instead of turning necessity into a profit center.

The hotel hospitality is very good and the location just superb. It is very convenient near the MRT, HSR and the Rail. Easy to get around. The shopping center is just next to the hotel and the underground lots to shop as well. It is connected to several shopping center using the underground walkway. The hotel ambiance is good for couples with romantic feel but for business traveller, would like to have much bright light in the room. The welcoming items with chicken essence that's really thoughtful.

Great service and attention from the front desk. Room is clean. Cleaning staff are polite and attentive. There's water refill station in each floor. Located mere minutes away from Taipei main station, Qsquare mall is just besides. Even with typhoon, we can move around easily. Apart from the dimmed light theme, the rest are all great. Will stay with them again.

I stayed at this hotel for 10 days and had the opportunity to experience two different room types. My first room was a spacious Superior Family Room with two queen beds (sorry not sure of the category name) and a stunning city view from the front side of the hotel. I especially enjoyed sitting by the large window while working on my laptop—it made work feel peaceful and pleasant. It was better than clouded coffee shop. The bathroom was equipped with a lovely bathtub, which was a great way to relax after a long day. Midway through my stay, I moved to a smaller room with one queen bed. While this room was about half the size of the first, it had a more private layout, with the bathroom separated from the sleeping area. This second room also had a balcony facing a nearby apartment building, so I usually kept the curtains closed for privacy. However, the balcony was large enough for me to do my morning yoga, which was a nice bonus since there wasn’t enough space inside the room for that. One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast buffet—especially the salad bar. It offered the most variety I’ve ever seen in a hotel, with fresh, healthy options that made breakfast something to look forward to every day. I also attended a banquet at the hotel during my stay, and the entire course meal was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor—an impressive culinary experience that made the evening feel very special. The staff were friendly and welcoming at the front desk whenever I returned to the hotel. I noticed the Director of Marketing and all managers were engaging with guests, which gave a nice personal touch. While the service was generally good, I did stay for 10 days, and no one really acknowledged me as a returning guest at breakfast, even though I saw the same team daily. A small detail, but one that could enhance the experience. The restaurant was too chilled that my coffee gets cold so fast. The location is excellent—centrally located in Taipei, with direct access to the MRT station. It was easy to walk to restaurants, shopping malls, and nearby sightseeing spots. A great base for exploring the city. Another thoughtful feature was the refillable glass bottles provided in the room, which could be filled with still or sparkling water from the hotel’s water stations—environmentally friendly and very convenient. Overall, I had a great stay and would recommend this hotel for both short visits and extended stays in Taipei.

The experience with the hotel did not get off to a good start. It was advertised on their website that their deluxe family room was located on the 12th floor. However, the check in staff initially allocated me to the 8th floor. She claimed that deluxe family rooms are located on all floors (except executive floors). Another colleague of hers even attempted to suggest that I was scammed by Trip.com. A room on the 12th floor was miraculously "fixed" in 10 minutes when I showed them some evidence. Nothing much positive to add thereafter. Location was probably the only positive aspect. There is a considerable amount of green "initiative" going on that poses inconvenience to hotel guests. It is fairly obvious that this is all but a front for cost savings (there were signs advising hotel guests not to use the bath tub in order to save water). There are other hotels that balance the green efforts better without causing inconvenience to hotel guests. Lastly, their breakfast is limited in hot food. There is a decent spread for cold food however. So the breakfast will not be value for money for those who prefer hot food for breakfast.

Greetings! We had the pleasure of checking into your esteemed hotel today and would like to express our heartfelt appreciation for the warm welcome and exceptional service. In particular, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Cyndi Huang at the front desk for her outstanding hospitality. From the moment we arrived, Ms. Cyndi Huang greeted us with a kind smile and provided thorough and thoughtful assistance throughout the check-in process. She also took the time to introduce us to the hotel’s facilities and nearby amenities, which made us feel comfortable and well cared for. Her professionalism and attention to detail truly reflect the high standards of service that Palais de Chine is known for. Thanks to her and your wonderful team, our first impression has been incredibly positive and memorable. We look forward to the opportunity to stay with you again in the future. Warm regards, Diana

It was a nice stay. The staff goes beyond nice and polite, genuinely made me feel welcomed. |Kudos for environmental friendly water supply system and the water tastes normal. |And for all the girlies out there, they use shampoo and conditioner that don’t dry out ur hair. |Breakfast was also super nice, loved the omelette and Baozi.

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel during my time in Taiwan. The location was perfect because it was right next door to the main train station in Taipei (main station). many other tourist attractions are also close by. Overall, my stay was great. Pros - Room: My room was very comfortable, modern a nice sized balcony. Food: There is a restaurant onsite and breakfast was in included with my stay. The breakfast options were great and you could even order some dishes freshly made like eggs and cinnamon buns. Staff: staff were always friendly and helpful. Noise level: The hotel was pretty quiet. Location: The location was great because it was within walking distance to so many tourist attractions. FYI Main station has so many stores and restaurant option. I had dinner there every night. Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi was included and worked well throughout my stay. Cons - Room: The lighting system in the room is a little complicated and difficult to turn out the lights completely. Apparently they turn on with motion. Food: I tried to have dinner at their restaurant once but was told I needed a reservation. If I return to Taipei in the future I would stay here again. After observing the other hotel options in the area that were cheaper, I realized I definitely made the best choice.

Yelp
Super conveniently located hotel (right next to Taipei Main Station) with an awesome breakfast buffet. Some wear and tear to the rooms and the intricate lighting on/off situation by the bed was a bit much for my jet lag-addled brain but otherwise a good place to stay. Water pressure for the shower was incredible; bed not too firm; pillows kinda too soft for my neck but no biggie. Bathroom was extremely clean. Other pluses: a fancy water fountain on every floor with an option for sparkling water. For a fizzy water addict like me, this was a godsend. I will say the whole place is a little dark (all the wood paneled walls don't help), starting with the elevator bank on the first floor and the reception/lobby on the sixth floor. Gym on the 17th floor was limited, with only one working treadmill and a measly selection of dumbbells but I'm guessing the room doesn't see too much traffic. Breakfast buffets are a big upside to traveling for me. The one here was extensive and top notch, everything from fruit, pastries, yogurt, salad bar, cold cuts, cereal and cheese, to lots of noodle options, congee, soy milk, tea eggs. In fact, I'd come here just to partake in the breakfast buffet.

Yelp
Seems like a lot of people are commenting on the hotel'S cleanliness. Just found the picture I took of this cockroach on the mirror

Yelp
Fantastic location (right. Exit to Q mall and 5 min walk to all the shopping malls and shops at 台北車站. Beautifully decorated hotel though quite dim and gorgeous and super clean rooms. I have severe dust allergies and was quite comfortable and had no incidents staying here. The best part was the exceptional customer services given at this hotel. Everyone was extremely polite, courteous and went out of their way to make you feel cared for while u r staying there, this incl housekeeping, bellman, concierge service and especially front desk. Amber the font desk was so helpful in arranging my hair appointment and setting me up with a great hair stylist on my last day as there was time crunch and around the Chinese New Years all the appointments were very limited. I love her and would definitely stay here again just cause they really do go out of their way to help make sure your visit runs smoothly. My only two minor complaints of my stay is 1) elevators r quite slow despite so many and 2) portable wifis are $399 per night where other hotels may charge $100NT. Would highly recommend u walk to 台北車站 and go look up ivideo as mine LtE rental was total $404 for 3 days rental. It's just a slightly inconvenience to have to bring it back to the location instead of dropping it off at the hotel. In summary, rooms are beautiful and bed super comfy, the 24hr currency exchange at reasonable rate and complimentary all day parking validations for guests and visitors are awesome, the breakfast buffet is delicious and has a great variety, the location is perfect as u can get anywhere, but the most memorable compare to all the other hotels is impeccable customer service.

Yelp
Centrally located (right across from the Taipei main station), friendly staff, clean room, and good night view of Taipei from our room. The room is spacious, has an old luxury feel, and decent amount of storage. I love the soft and cushiony slipper provided in the room. There is a handy phone for complimentary use (ex. can make phone call, reserve tickets, internet service) which was very convenient.

Yelp
Great service from front end to the back and all around. Loved the location of this hotel near the Taipei main station which houses tons of shops underground and above ground. Be prepared to get lost! Room is showing age but w proper maintenance it's great during our stay. Housekeeping was on point. Our stay included breakfast buffet at one of its restaurant. The hotel's reception is on the 6/F.

Yelp
Gorgeous luxury hotel located in the heart of Taipei next to the Q Square bus station terminal.. This French boutique hotel lobby is located on the 6th floor and has elegant exquisite design and romantic atmosphere. Enjoying a nice bottle of magna cabernet from Chile to escape all the crowds in the mall below on this busy Sunday afternoon. Great place to have a meal and drinks, but a bit pricey to stay at this hotel for me. Must come to check out the wow factor.

Yelp
The Service: Wonderful!! Very attentive, took great care of us. Servers are always around. The Food: We come for Chinese New Year eve dinner. It is buffet style. Almost US$100 per person. 2 seatings. Both 2 hours to ear. YES.... TOO RUSH! People are like fighting for the food, cutting lines. It is a terrible dinning experience! Not organized! Everyone get a main course, lobster & steak. Appetizer & dessert buffet. Love love love the dessert choices! The Parking: Restaurant validate parking for few hours With the price they charge & only 2 hours to eat.... not worth it!

Yelp
Oh man, this was definitely not expected. I really wanted to rest up before flying back home, having just came from missions. As much as AEF was a missions, it was also my personal time off to enjoy Taiwan. And that meant finding and exploring a place to stay for a day. So what about Palais de Chine Hotel that made it my choice for that day? First, it's a luxury boutique hotel located strategically in the heart of Taipei Train Station. Ravishingly beautiful and decorated to the finest, the furnishing and amenities are definitely geared towards more affluent couples and romantic getaways. Dim lighting and surrounding vibes give a sultry and seductive mood. Walk into the elevators and into the hotel and you'll find yourself immersed into another world. I was placed on the deluxe floor (which meant the 14th Floor) and it was definitely a step up from its rivals. Modern and well furnished, my room offered a nice city view through a huge window that conveyed Taipei in all its finest. It was stylish but overly done. For a trendy hotel like this one, this definitely counts as hipster for sure. The room was equipped to the max as well: bathrobes slippers mini-bar two bottled waters safe coffee and tea daily newspapers Fridge Toiletries (fancy ones) 40 inch TV all-in-one control for light and temperature One odd design about this room was the bathroom. The large tub with no door, combined with the most interesting of doors for a bathroom window made me question the intent of the designer's philosophy. I mean, it's great to build the bathroom with an open layout, but who wants to open windows to see someone take a dump? That's just weird. As much as this open concept bathroom is in effect, I still prefer the more traditional (you know, with doors) where one can enjoy a full privacy and relaxation without having to worry about people peeping in. The daily buffet breakfast for me was a bit of a letdown, given that I had paid around 700 NT for something I expected to be excellent. Maybe it was just an off-day for them. Regardless, the breakfast had a variety of cuisines from all over the world. The vast selection covered both Western and Asian Style that were prepared pretty well. There was even a made-to-order egg section where I had the most over-hard eggs of my life. There was even this honey tray which honestly surprised the living daylights out of me. A honeycomb taken directly from the beehive? YOU A GENIUS hotel. Palais de Chine Hotel is definitely one of my top choices whenever I need to stay someplace in Taipei. The location and surrounding areas make this an initial top choice, as it's right next door (literally) to Q-Square Station, which also connects to the MRT and High Speed Rail Station. It's also given a ton of shopping malls and underground shops that would make any girl blushing with excitement.

Yelp
I usually stay at Regent taipei when I'm in Taiwan but this is about to change. Palais De Chine is much better! They are closer to the train station, their staff is friendlier, the room is nicer and the atmosphere just makes you feel like you're welcome in a very high class hotel. The only thing I would want them to change is maybe have 1 more setting for the lights to be brighter and maybe a little bit bigger room. Although the room isn't so small that it bothered me. Xavier, one of the guy working there was so friendly and helpful. I want to give him a shout out! Thanks for making my hotel stay such a nice experience!!! You're now my go to hotel in Taiwan!!!

Yelp
We booked the hotel last minute and were very satisfied with the hotel. Staff is friendly and efficient and speak good English. Rooms are clean and spacious. There is a connected shopping mall. Great breakfast, hard to find a better buffet.

Yelp
Eating at China Palace in Taiwan is a little ironic. BUt if you pass through the political irony, this hotel and its restaurant is really design. The setting is very "old precious" china. It's really beautiful if you're looking for a total cliché of China but done classy. MIAM MIAM Beijing duck prepared and cut by the chef in front of you is a must MONEY MONEY MONEY Hotel restaurant, so in the upper range of price

Yelp
This hotel is located at such a convenient location, right next to a mall and an MRT station. I really enjoyed being able to walk over to the mall and shop around/ eat whenever I had downtime. The inside of the hotel is decorated really nicely and the service is extremely courteous. The rooms seemed like they were intended more for couples than for families, since there was no divider between the bathroom and the room, which seemed kind of odd to me. The dinner buffet was not as good as I expected, and quite pricey too. Overall, I think this is a great hotel and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel at a great location (right next to the Taipei Station). If you like your hotel bright with lots of lights, you may not like it but I enjoyed my stay here a lot! One time, I got a room upgrade with executive floor access. That was the bomb! The lounge offers a breakfast alternative when you don't want to eat at the crowded restaurant in the morning. (The selection is a lot smaller but if you just want something quick and simple, it's perfect.) The happy hour is what I loved! The canele here was one of the best in my recent memory and that includes the canele from Dominique Ansel Bakery in NYC! Not to mention, it's a free-flow bar! There is some privacy issue with the bathrooms in the room - not compartmentalized - only a curtain if you will... Otherwise, the room is very comfortable - just a little dark. As mentioned, I love their breakfast - great selection and plenty of food. The complimentary tea bags in the room are also fabulous. I always bring the leftover ones home with me. LOL

Yelp
Pretty nice hotel located right across the street from the subway station (there is an entrance to it from the underground mall). The rooms were nice, service was good, price was right, and the breakfast buffet was solid. The only problem about this place is that it is a bit far from all the nightlife bars/cafes. The good part is that taxis are extremely cheap, just make sure you have the exact address as the taxi drivers don't speak much english. While they don't have a shuttle to the airport, you can either take the airport bus or the taxi. The airport bus was too complicated for us to find at the subway station so we opted for the taxi. It'll run you around $30 USD. 4 stars.

Yelp
The last hotel in our January 2016 Taiwan family trip, we saved the best for last. We stayed in the Executive Suite and boy oh boy what a room it was. From the entry foyer, the 4-person dining table, separate seating area (with flat screen) and the bedroom (with another flat screen) + bose surround sound speakers... we definitely felt like we "made it" here. Granted, we got this room because of a familial connection, but man, totally worth it! The service, like most luxury hotels we've stayed at during our trip, has been top-notch. From the bell hop service, front desk, to the cleaning staff, whatever we needed (e.g., baby supplies) we got.

Yelp
I staid here for 3 nights based on its location to the main train station. I arrived late at night so I was a little disoriented on arrival but the friendly staff directed me to the check in desk on the third floor. It is a little different but a lot of downtown hotels these days are not stand alone buildings so the main lobby is anywhere but the first floor. Rooms are spacious but it was strange at first to walk through the bath room to get into the room. It is also not separated off by a wall. There is a curtain to separate it from the rest of the room. The open floor made the room seem larger than it was. Since I was rooming by myself, it was ok for me. I guess if your sharing a room, it may make it a little awkward. The toilet was a Japanese modern one with a bunch of function keys. To future for me. The shower was spacious and the tub was huge. The place is a little dark though. I left the curtain open even at night to get some light into the room. The hall also seemed under lit also. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of television options. I was really impressed when they dropped off a little birthday surprise for me. I happen to be staying here during my birthday and they sent over a little dessert. It was very good. Definite plus.

Yelp
This is a 5 star hotel with budget hotel service. This hotel is very expensive and is decorated with Asian art. Also, the toilets in the rooms are high tech Japanese electronic bidets. The hotel rooms are quite clean and free of bed bugs. The hotel is very conveniently located next to the central rail station in the middle of Taipei on top of a luxury shopping center but next to an underground budget food court and shopping center. However, this is where the 5 star experience ends. Nobody in the dining room spoke English. The wifi was not working in my room and it took 30 minutes to fix. The bellhop never offered to take my luggage up to my room. I saw the dining room chef use the exact same unwashed knife to cut salad right after he used the knife to cut raw fish. The omelette chef kept on making the omelettes wrong even though it requires zero English speaking abilities since we pointed out exactly which ingredients we wanted him to make our omelettes out of. Finally, the design of the hotel is confusing. The first floor is the concierge desk, NOT the front desk where you check in or out. You have to go up several floors in order to get to the front desk. When I checked in, the personnel never explained to me how to use the hotel room card to gain access to the elevators. Lucky for me, I had previously stayed at the Fleur de Chine hotel where they had the exact same security system so I knew how to use it. Also, they had an ultra luxury shower of post-modern design that was difficult the use. It took a couple minutes of fumbling around before I could figure it out. If you're going to install unusual features, then a placard should be installed next to the shower head explaining how to use the shower. For example, the fancy electronic Japanese bidet had an instruction placard installed next to the bidet. No such placard was available for the difficult to use shower. The people I checked in with never explained to me how to use the shower, either. I've stayed at the same corporation's sister facility, the Fleur de Chine and it was the BEST hotel i've ever stayed in. However, this is probably the worst 5 star hotel I've ever stayed in. No, it is not horrible. This hotel is tons better than any budget hotel such as Holiday Inn or Days Inn. However, when you're paying 5 star hotel prices, I expect 5 star hotel service, not budget hotel service. I would only recommend this hotel if convenience to nearby shopping and restaurants is of the utmost importance to you. Otherwise, there are better values for your money than the Palais de Chine Hotel.

Yelp
We stayed here for one night after arriving in TW from the US. The hotel greatly exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and service. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our early check-in, storing our luggage, and providing transportation to the train station. I highly recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I came here with friends for their all-one-can eat Lobster and Steak Buffet. 3000NTD (ca. $100), drinks are extra. The steak and lobster is good, but small in portion; though you can order as many times as you like. But the star of the evening is the buffet: I was impressed by the quality and assortment of fish, meats, salads and desserts. The sashimi, especially, was outstanding.

Yelp
Excellent location! Right next to Taipei station. Beautiful room and comfortable bed. Was a bit skeptical about the high ratings online when we booked it but it was actually very good. We'd definitely come back.
