3 Places to Try in Seattle This Weekend - Eater Seattle

"There are many reasons John Sundstrom’s Capitol Hill pizzeria ranks as one of the best in the city. Sundstrom has found the perfect balance between New York and Neapolitan, making pies that are just on the practical side of floppy, holding their ingredients well. The Featherweight, featuring smoked mozzarella, roasted garlic, parmesan, and white sauce, is a good place to start on a first visit, as are the boozy slushies." - Megan Hill

Beautiful building, you get hit with a delicious aroma as soon as you walk in. It feels very traditional for this type of cooking. The pasta we had was the chicken Marsala pasta, and it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Delicious. We also had a pizza and we subed olives out for mushrooms and there was no charge or issue making the substitution- we loved this! Our server was friendly and actually gave us the suggestions for the meal- and we were so grateful! A must if you’re in the area!

I was really impressed with the extensive food menu, and decent wine offerings. From the get go, the cheesy, creamy, and marinara flavors looked like all my favorite things, and felt like a perfect (classic) place to order from when you just need a pick me up after a long day. Average cost (2025) Appetizers: $10 - $15 Pasta: $20 - $28 Pizza: $24 - $35 Portion: 1.5, enough to have leftovers but probably not enough for 2 people to one dish situation Restaurant size: 14+ tables I have to emphasize this because many pictures made the space look huge (not to mention outdated menu prices), and it's definitely not big, or $15/plate anymore. I'd estimate 6 families could fit in here comfortably, and while the place could hold more, the noise level would be awful at the point. The food was delicious (ordered appetizers and pasta) and served in a warm, semi-casual ambience, with excellent service. It's a solid neighborhood gem that I'll be coming back to in the future!

Disappointed with quality, portions, and service. Ordered a ($20!!!!) cheese tortellini with chicken. Person who took my order over the phone didn’t hear the part where I added chicken so I was stuck with a 20 dollar pasta with no protein. Called back after I got home and realized the error and wasn’t offered a refund or comp of any kind and was told it was my fault they didn’t hear it over the phone or clarify the order. Poor guest service with no apology or attempt to make the order right. Regardless of the poor guest service I was even more disappointed by how absolutely puny the portion size was. I’m talking a small aluminum container BARELY 1/3rd of the way full. Come on y’all. This is 1-2 dollar food cost worth of tortellini and cheese sauce you’re selling for twenty bucks and you can’t fill the box? As a fellow restauranteur I know how much these ingredients cost, and it’s absolutely abysmal to charge someone 20 dollars for what is obviously frozen pasta. Domino’s could have put together a better bowl of pasta for half the price. Deeply disappointed overall, me and my wife have eaten at Palermo many times and been happy with everything previously but I can tell things are being skimped and corners cut these days. Should have just picked up dominoes and been happier for half the price.

Amazing food and ambiance! I have been a fan for over 15 years. I now live in Wenatchee however everytime I'm in the city I have to stop by at Palermo. Great authentic Italian flavors.

Delicious and fresh food. They have great delivery but I would recommend a dine in experience and try their marinara sauce. Happy hour for beer and wine for an added bonus. Will need to leave room for dessert next time.

I had the pleasure of eating here on a late Friday afternoon. It’s Seattle so parking can be a little tricky but it’s worth it! This is a really cute date place! The setting is rather intimate especially the window seats. I was warmly greeted by my server and shown my cozy window seat. I had a great view of the people walking their dogs by. The menu is extensive with a large offerings of pastas and pizzas along with things like sandwiches, calzones, etc. my server was very kind and prompt. I ordered the tortellini which was ravioli stuffed with seafood in an amazing light sauce. It was so good. The bread was good too. The bill came out to $32 with tax and tip and was worth every penny. I noticed a lot of regulars there as well. I recommend this place for Italian food lovers and couples on a date night.

I've been having Palermo's deliver pizza to my apartment for over a year. Always good crust its big puffy edges are nice and crisp, and the delicious toppings are always spot on but I got a Palermo's special delivered and it tasted like something had changed. The crust was not even close to what I've always received, it was droopy and almost partially cooked. The edges were tiny and wrinkled. It had a doughy center as the crust seemed thicker than normal and I always get traditional. It didn't even look the same ..The top was overloaded with tons of tomato sauce and canned green peppers. I had two pieces and for the first time ever the rest I will not eat. It almost tastes like it came from a completely different restaurant. I am hoping this was a one time thing. Always the best pizza on the hill always consistent and always fresh and delicious but this time something was off. Pizza with two pieces missing I just received. The other pie is from three weeks ago..

Great food both times that we have been there. Huge portions though so if a half size option is offered go for it! The caesar salad was better than the sicilian one but didn't have anchovies even as an option.
