Palm Grill: Authentic Southern Mindanaon Cuisine

Went for a Saturday lunch and were seated immediately, which was a good start. Staff stayed attentive throughout the meal and service was consistent. The ambiance feels homey and relaxed, though the aircon was uncomfortably cold even after they adjusted it upon request. Food-wise, it’s an adventure—lots of unfamiliar flavors and combinations. In hindsight, the sampler would have been the smarter choice to get a better overview of the dishes. Still, it’s worth trying at least once to experience Mindanaoan food and something outside the usual Filipino fare.

Deserves the bib gourmand recognition. Savory and delicious food. Quick service,and attentive friendly staff. Two points though but did not affect my rating. Aircon's too cold. Even after requesting it to be adjusted. Uncomfortable level.. also, staff we asked about the prices of the bottled products on the rack didn't know the prices.

It's a must try. The food is not as spicy as we thought. The flavors are so unique and worth discovering. Unfortunately, we were not aware that their bilao of kakanin should be ordered 1 day before. Would've love to try that with their coffee.

This is a perfect place to have a taste of Southern Mindanao cuisine from The Zamboanga - Sulu - Tawi-Tawi area in the Metro. A Michelin recognized restaurant (they were recently awarded with a Bib Gourmand rating). They make authentic Filipino dishes from the said part of Mindano and the chef is a Tausug native from Sulu, so he really knows what he's doing. The place is packed when we got there for lunch. Food is good.

The sample platter was absolutely perfect for trying different dishes. I’m also such a fan of coconut so I ordered an extra Bubuk rice. I preferred it over the turmeric rice. We also got ensaladang talong that matched well with some dishes. The Locon (shrimps) was ‘just’ good. It didn’t stand out like the rest of the dishes. Personally I think I was expecting a continuation of the strong coconut and spices. Overall it was a great meal for me and my family. Will be bringing or recommending other people here!

First time to eat lunch here on the day they got their Michellin Bib Gourmand award we were the only customers, can't say I was surprised. Food was Amazing, serving size was generous. Hope they keep the consistency. Love the Mindanaon inspired decors using indigenous textiles. The next day when we passed by the place was packed, maybe due to the news of the award.

As a Zamboangueño, I had high expectations when dining at this restaurant, hoping for an authentic taste of our local cuisine. Unfortunately, it did not fully deliver the culinary experience I was looking for. The satti was acceptable in terms of flavor, but the tamu (rice) was too soft, and the sauce could have been spicier. The tyula itum has potential but needs improvement, particularly in enhancing the charred coconut flavor and spiciness. The beef kulma also fell short and is sweeter than it should be. It could benefit from stronger and more balanced spices for a richer taste. The locon was disappointing. It was not even close to a proper locon, and the sauce was nowhere near the famous Alavar sauce, as a completely different sauce was used. The knickerbocker was okay, but it was overpriced for what was served. The interior could also use improvement, as the tables were wobbly and the chairs were uncomfortable. On a positive note, the service was good and attentive. If asked whether I would come back, maybe.

Worth the Michelin Bib Gourmand recognition!!! They brought the Mindanao cuisine to Manila and we love it! Even the service was excellent - staff were super friendly and jolly. Prolly one of the best restaurants to dine with your balikbayan family and friends!
