Vermonters love their local creemee places and everybody will claim their town has the best one. I’m from out-of-state and don’t have an attachment to any specific town here, so here’s my unbiased opinion after trying MANY different creemees across the state over 20 years visiting: Palmer Lane Maple has the best maple creemee I have ever tasted in Vermont! There is no comparison - every other maple creemee I’ve tried has this fake, artificial taste (and many don’t even have a maple taste at all). Sure, they might be creamy, but check and see the ingredients…so many creemee spots use fake powdered soft serve mix and artificial flavors. Not even real maple!! Palmer Lane literally has their own sugarhouse and uses their own maple syrup and real local milk to make their creemees. You can see the ingredients right inside the window when you’re ordering!
This place also has tons of amazing maple treats inside including snacks, candies, maple syrup, and more! They even have other local Vermont-themed products, merch, and a lot of other stuff. When you first visit, be sure to step inside to see what they’re selling! The entire town of Jericho is at this ice cream shop in the evenings - it’s that good! Anyone that comes here becomes an instant regular. They have many different creemee flavors to choose from - not a ton all at once, but they rotate them on a weekly basis so you’re able to try lots of different flavors all the time. I believe they change flavors every Tuesday (you might need to verify that). They have everything from maple, chocolate, vanilla, ginger, orange, coffee, peppermint, strawberry, black cherry, pumpkin, peach, and so much more! They have sorbets, vegan options, gluten-free cones, and best of all - they have pints to-go that you can bring home and enjoy over multiple days!! No matter if it’s a sundae, milkshake, maple lemonade slushee, or just a simple maple creemee on a cone, I will always find room for Palmer Lane Maple.
Pro tip: ask to get your creemee stacked instead of twisted! If, for example, they have a peach/maple twist, ask to get the flavors stacked on top of one another so you can try peach and maple separately! My favorite flavors are peach, chocolate, coffee, pumpkin and maple! Maple is THE BEST! And even the chocolate tastes more like “real” chocolate. I don’t know how they do it…when we vacation in Vermont we come here almost every day for weeks on end and never get tired. Come here when you’re driving by - it’s worth stopping at!!
