Palmito is definitely one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Brighton. We ordered 5 dishes and every single one is just delicious! We had grilled king prawns, beef tacos, charred cabbage, mussels, empanadas, everything was delightful! We also made space for dessert and it did not disappoint. Service was amazing and very friendly staff. Will come back for sure!

Every dish amazing, hard to pick a favourite! Beautiful beetroot starter. Delicious King Prawns in Ecuadorian curry. Moist and moreish cornbread. Cod tacos were deliciously creamy and the goat tacos packed with flavour. Outstanding service, almost like a family welcome. Better than the food I’ve had in Mexico City. Can’t wait to go back to Palmito it’s perfection!

We had been waiting for a year to come to Palmito and it absolutely did not disappoint!! We had a cosy table for two and were immediately attended to by the lovely staff. Starting off with a Mezcalita cocktail we had stuffed padron peppers, Harissa cauliflower and avocado and green bean salad to start. Followed by an incredible cod taco, prawns, lamb skewer and birria tacos to die for. The cheapest white wine on the menu paired perfectly, and we topped off the evening with a rich pistachio tiramisu. We waddled back to the hotel and I am writing this from my bed, content beyond belief.

Food was delicious - the freshly made soft taco shells, on top of the airy fried cod and delicious small plates really made for a great experience! Customer service was also very friendly and attentive. Will definitely come back!

Fiod and service are great. We had 6 tapas and were all excellent. I recommend in particular the mushroom tostada, the duck croquetas and the cod tacos. Also the dessert was amazing (passion fruit and mandarin cheescake). We had the pineapple cocktail and was super good as well as the tequila at the end of our meal. The service is great too. They are very nice and quick. The only downside is that you have 1 hour and 45 minutes to eat. Essentially we had to leave as soon as we had our dessert which is not great considering how you pay. Also it doesn’t really allow you to have more than a certain amount of tapas since you wouldn’t have time to eat them all. I would have stayed a bit longer and have a chat with my wife. Other thing that should be improved is that there are too many tables and you literally sit one next to each other. Overall it was a good experience but it could have been 5 stars if we didn’t have to leave immediately after finishing and if there was a more intimate atmosphere.

Overall had high hopes for Palmito after reading and seeing the Resturant online. However I left wondering what the hype / bib gourmand was about. Firstly they have tried to pack in as many tables as possible into a tiny space meaning you’re sitting inches away from other diners and hearing their full conversations. It seems the Resturant has prioritised covers over guests experience. Secondly pretty much everything we ate lacked any real punch of flavour, richness or excitement. It felt like I was eating a home chefs food who lacked any real knowledge on how to create flavourful, balanced dishes. The best dish we ate was the corn. We thought the menu seemed confused and lacked cohesion. After visiting other restaurants like Plateau and Amari within the same weekend, this just did not compare in any way. Service was friendly however would not return.

Hands down the best restaurant in Brighton (I grew up here and go to new restaurants constantly!) Every single plate we got, and we got a lot, was absolutely delicious. The service and the ambiance were also perfect, could not fault my experience and I cannot wait to return ❤️

Fabulous food here. Everg dish was really flavoursome, tasty and different. Unique flavours. Fairly small plates, but all excellent. We had 5 dishes for 2 people. Only negatives were how crammed in we were. It was like sharing with the people next to us, who were lovely ( luckily). Also food arrives as ready, so we ordered and 2 meat dishes, then 2 fish dishes, then a flat bread appeared when we'd finished, then a veg dish came. Will definitely return though.
