Pane e Vino

Very cute restaurant with really good food! They have a whole separate gluten free menu with tons of options including GF bread, pasta and chicken Parm! We started with the caprese salad (which I forgot to take a picture of) but it was amazing with really fresh, ripe tomatoes! I ordered the special (steak & shrimp) and it was juicy and cooked perfectly! Finished with decaf affogato! So good! Our server Kathleen did an amazing job! I will definitely be back!

We celebrated my birthday here and were so happy we did. The fritto misto was cooked perfectly and gluten free! Then, Anatra and Braciola di Maiale was excellent! We finished with a GF cannoli and the chocolate mousse cake. Wow, can't wait for our next meal here! Also, Connor did a great job taking care of us.

We had a wonderful dinner during our trip to Providence. The food was amazing, from the lobster ravioli to the Scallop Risotto. Definitely have the arinchini! Service was perfect as well along with the pacing.

Another night out with our friends Roland and Carol. Paula and I had visited Pane E Vino (Italian for Bread and Wine) with some other friends about a year ago, and really enjoyed it, hence bringing Roland and Carol there. We arrived on time and were seated immediately. It's not a huge place so there's fairly close (but not too close) tables, and it can get a little loud, but there's apparently enough sound absorption so that it wasn't harsh, and I don't recall having to yell. I honestly didn't pay any attention to the decor, I just wanted to eat. But I think I recall that it's fairly dark and warm colors. And as much as people like atmosphere, the most important thing IMHO is the food and drink, and of course the service. Basically within one minute (if even) there was bread and dipping oil on the table, followed by another fellow pouring fresh water. Everyone was smiling and cordial. The bread, while not warm, was delicious and the oil (appeared to be mixed with balsamic vinegar) was a fine compliment to it. Oh, and there was a little bowl of the most delicious stone-in olives that I've ever tasted. Roland agreed. They were marvelous. I don't know if they make 'em themselves but I could eat those all day. Drinkwise, the ladies almost always stick with water, and Roland and I ordered our typical drinks, Grey Goose martini, and a Maker's Mark Manhattan, respectively. I believe my Manhattan was a little heavier than usual on the Vermouth, but it was delicious nonetheless, and there was a premium cherry waiting at the bottom. Our waiter (Juan) was a pleasant fellow, and quick to arrive and welcome us, and to take our food order. Roland ordered the Arancini appetizer, which was, in his words, the most delicious Arancini he'd ever eaten. I've not had a lot of experience with them, but I can at least say they were superb, and the best I've had so far. Oddly enough there was only three Arancini globes on the plate, though it worked out perfectly because Carol doesn't like risotto. But I mean seriously, when are there three people at a table? It's typically going to be a couple or two couples, right? Anyway ... For the main course, Paula got the Chicken Parm, and Carol got the Veal Parm. Carol was hesitant at first to order it though because it's on the bone, and she thought it'd be too thick. But I asked Juan who assured her it was thin. Roland ordered the Special Stuffed Pork Chop, and I got the Pork Chop from the menu. Roland really should've asked what the price on the Special was ($55!) because it was shockingly more expensive ($17 more!) than the one from the menu ($38). That must've been some kind of stuffing because it moved a PC into the pricing realm of a Filet Mignon (which I believe was $52) ... but at least Roland was really happy with the flavor and the portion. Both Carol and Roland gave their meals 5 stars. Paula and I gave ours 3.50 stars, because both or ours were overcooked -- as in dry. The only thing that saved both of these dishes was the delicious red sauce on hers, and the yummy demiglaze on mine. That, and her pasta was perfectly al dente, and my gnocchi was nice and firm. I'm sure we'll go there again, though hopefully we won't get overcooked dishes again. I've included only a photo of my pork chop.

The ambiance and service were excellent. Wine list was tasty, as were the appetizers and desert. The only miss was the braised pork main for restaurant week. It was cooked beautifully, but underseasoned. My partner and I ended up splitting the truffle tortellini we ordered.

I cannot say enough about this little gem. Not only was the food delicious, they have a rather extensive gluten free offering, including amazing rolls. Juan our server was perfect. The decor reminds me of a great little restaurant in NYC. I love the interior, homey and comfortable. The cocktails were also outstanding. We were traveling for a work event and this was the perfect spot to kick off our trip. Thank you Pane e Vino. You are the best!

We had an amazing dining experience! The service was just superb (Kathleen?) We were a party of 5 that ordered everything different on the menu, lamb, pork, duck, filet, and all meals came out hot and cooked to perfection!!

The food was meh and not a lot of flavor. I had high hopes for the marinara but it was very bland as was the pasta fagioli Coming from NY/NJ, we are very blessed (spoiled) with great Italian food. This was not it. Will try other restaurants on Fed Hill

This was our first visit to Providence, and we chose to stay in the Little Italy neighborhood. We stopped here for dinner and absolutely loved it. Although we didn't have reservations, we arrived early and were seated promptly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, setting the stage for a wonderful meal. We started with freshly baked bread and olive oil--simple yet outstanding. The fried calamari was perfectly prepared, crisp and flavorful. For our entrées, we enjoyed the grilled pork chop with brown butter gnocchi and the grilled salmon--both were exceptional. Our only regret was being too full to try dessert!

While the food was good, the service was terrible and the main reason for my 3 rating. We tried to give our server the benefit of the doubt given that it was a busy time, but for only 2 drinks and 3 food items, we should not have needed to ask multiple other waiters if they could find our person so we could order/pay. The food itself was good, we ordered the cacio pepe and maccheroncini del cardinale - both were flavorful and had a nice balance of fat that made the meals hearty. We also ordered the tiramisu which was larger than expected and soaked well. The overall vibe was very family friendly and while we enjoyed our meal, the poor service really took away from our experience, and for this reason I will not be returning.

Always a five star time here! Place is beautiful, cozy , casual/elegant at the same time. Everyone is welcoming / knowledgeable and accommodating our preferences /changes.. amazing wine list and cocktails - dinner was delightful- our favorite spot is in the front by the windows. Cant wait for the weather to start to get nice so we can dine outside

Kathleen was so lovely taking care of us tonight. Perfect balance of attentiveness and distance to enjoy the meal. Great support staff too, professional young men. I love it here it was my second visit and the ambiance is just so nice.

The food was really good! The service was excellent; we were really taken care from beginning to end. The ambience was ok. There was not much to look at in terms of the aesthetics of the place. But if your focus was food, drinking, and talking, it was perfect.

I came back to Pane E Vino and had the bolognese with gluten free pasta. It was delicious and I would recommend. I love how they have several gluten free options:)

Our first time here. We had reservations but were able to get seats at the bar. The gentleman working the door was extremely polite and accommodating. Our bartenders Mike and Justin were F'ing awesome!! They made the night. Great conversation, great recommendations, and they are a great team. We started off with the Burrata and it was delicious. Note: the crostini's were a little thin (high society problem..LOL). We then split the lasagna which was good but just a little on the dry side for us. To end the meal, I had a double expresso and my wife had an expresso martini which both were fantastic. I highly recommend eating here. If possible, sit at the bar. You wont be disappointed.

Absolutely beautiful restaurant! This place is the perfect spot for an amazing Italian meal and a delicious glass of wine. Whether it is date night, anniversary, or just out for a great meal, this place is a must. Service was incredible and attentive.

First time trying this restaurant with my friend after hearing good reviews from fellow Rhode Islanders. " Pane e Vino" is located on Atwell's in federal hill and, despite being on a busy street, has a quiet and intimate feel. I also enjoyed how present the servers were and they often checked in on my friend and I. Their focaccia and bread rolls were definitely my favorite! Their spaghetti with vongole was good as well, though the pasta itself lacked some flavor. The clams, however, were delicious! Highly recommend them.

made reservations early for 8p. I was told that my reservation was for outside. they sat me and my young daughter outside, freezing cold, in front of the trash, and would not help us get rid of a man (likely displaced) who was sitting at our table. needless to say, we left and enjoyed amazing food, great service inside of a very stunning and *warm* restauran. thank you Camille's in Federal Hill for the very swift accommodation. I would stay away from Pane .. especially the hostess Saturday night is so rude. awful and it smells like nasty farm raised salmon in there! I digress.

Great service per usual. Justin at the bar takes great care of me every time I come in. The atmosphere is great and very welcoming. The food is delicious and this place is a MUST anytime I am in providence.

Excellent Italian restaurant with great service. It was raining and we walked without an umbrella due to a street closure. The front desk manager offered us cloth napkins to dry off when we walked in. They have a menu of different options and we started with the Arancini, which were crunchy and gooey inside. All of the pasta dishes were cooked properly al dente and the I enjoyed trying a little bit of each. Tables are close to each other and the restaurant is not huge but the ambiance is very lively. We enjoyed our dinner, thank you!

So good, get the sausage pasta with pink tomato sauce(not pictured). Everyone loved their food, 10/10. Tiramisu also really good and huge portion

Sat at the bar, service was excellent, very friendly. Ordered an arnold palmer, half size house salad and chicken "funghi" aka marsala. With a side of rigatoni pink sauce. Salad was ok. Pasta was undercooked and chicken was rubbery. You could tell it was cheap breast meat. Mushrooms were great. Thats about it. Oh yeah, very overpriced the bill was $44. Only enjoyable experience was the bartenders.

Can I first say that the food was good enough last week to bring my sister back to try other dishes, even if the service wasn't great. Sadly- the service was still questionable. We asked for the San Felice Il Grigio Chianti Riserva and got the San Felice Chianti, which is a good wine don't get my wrong but hasn't aged as long and didn't pair as well with the food we ordered. When the bottle was brought, we double and triple checked from the server, Dwight, and he declared multiple times that it was the correct bottle. Who are we to argue with someone who serves these bottles everyday. Once we started drinking it, we knew it was the wrong one. When the food came, we ordered the special salad of the night and would have eaten it many times over. The goat cheese was a nice touch. The pasta dishes came out and I will tell you, they do Sunday Gravy right! The Fusili Al Ragu Napoletano was a good choice. What wasn't great, was the broken sauce and burnt bacon. My fellow diner said the chocolate chip cannolo was really good and very worth it, even if it was a hot plate that made it melt. Either way, I'm not thrilled that I gave the service a 2nd chance only to see the food be lesser than my first experience which is sad. I will say... the Monday 1/2 price drinks are a reason to go for apps and wine or a cocktail. So far the apps and salads have been amazing.

5/5 everything. we came walk in to massimo on a weeknight and they were having a private party so they made us a reservation for pane e vino for 15 min later which is what it took to drive down atwells ave and valet. our server treated us like family. my grandma loved her. i can't believe how amazing this gluten free menu and gluten free bread service is. i didn't miss out on anything from the regular menu. the veal milanese was enormous, our server brought it cut up in 3 knowing we were doing family style sharing. so many leftovers to enjoy too. i will definitely be back.

The food was outstanding as well as the service. I had a florentine stuffed veal chop. It was Hugh. The dish included 2 shrimp and 3 lobster ravioli. It was delicious. My wife had the chicken parmigiana which she said was very good. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had to run early from our dinner so took entrees to go. We got the spaghetti puttanesca and guanciale. When we ate them later, both pastas were so dry with barely any sauce at all. There were also basically no guanciale or anchovies. Both of us were very surprised and reasoned that the lack of sauce must be because we got them to-go, but that is still not an excuse. When I say dry btw I mean bone dry. The guanciale pasta especially was pretty bad. The appetizers we got while dining in were great so the drop off in quality was drastic. Hoping to go again to see if the food in restaurant is better, but even if it is I think doing better on to-go would benefit them greatly

AMAZING, simply amazing. My husband and I were in Providence RI for my birthday weekend. It's a city we go to each year and enjoying picking a restaurant in Federal Hill to try during our visits. I have dined at many fine restaurants in Boston and this one is better than any restaurant we have eaten at in Boston or Providence....for several reasons: Upon walking in, it reminded me of a small restaurant in Boston's North End. We were pleasantly greeted (by the owner if I was to guess). We requested to sit at the bar because that is what we like. The seats had a Happy Birthday sign and sparkles. There were two bartender (Dylan and Mike F) that could possibly have the customer service skills I have ever experienced. I asked if they had blue cheese olives before ordering a dirty martini. Mike told me that Dylan had just finished hand stuffing them YUM! My husband had the Stoli Doli cocktail. After our drinks, Mike F asked if we thought about an appetizer. I mentioned that I read about an eggplant rollatini appetizer in a post but I did not see it on the menu. Dylan overheard our conversation and told us that it used to be on the menu, but he would ask the chef if they would make it. I was touched that he offered to do that and thankful when Dylan came back and said, "yes, the chef will make that appetizer for you." It was delicious - eggplant was so tender, filled with a pillow of ricotta and topped with the perfect amount of cheese and sauce. Next was the bread.....the olive oil and freshly cut crunchy bread. Without asking, Dylan brought us out something they don't normally server. It was sharp cheese with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar to go with the bread. Again, such a nice touch!! Onto the entree - we asked several questions of Dylan and Mike F as we tried to figure out what we wanted to eat. We decided on the Braciold Di Maiale (grilled pork chop, caramelizedfigs, potato gnocchi and roasted cauliflower). We were sold on it when Dylan explained that the chef on duty actually created this dish. To say it was THE BEST pork chop dish I have ever had is an understatement. It was tender, juicy and the outer crust was something a high end restaurant should try to achieve. We also ordered the Patata Croccante (crispy Fontina potato cakes) which were lightly fried and delicious. We ate every morsel - overstuffed but we couldnt push away such delicious food. We didnt try any of the desserts but finished off the night with two shots of their homemade Lemoncello. Again, the bartenders brought the shots over to us without even asking. Their service industry skills are second to none. I will think about this restaurant often and probably wont order a pork chop at any place else. The two bartenders added such a wonderful experience to our night out. So very happy we found Pane E Vino and it will be the only place we eat the next time we are visiting Providence RI.

We just happened upon this treasure as we were dropped off by our Uber in Little Italy. Providence, RI We have traveled to Italy and wow, we were transported back! Greeted with true Italian warmth. Ambiance was perfection! Service over the top as Simone welcomed us like family, with traditional and authentic Italian warmth! Simone had fresh bread brought to our table with a lovely olive oil and olive in a dish for dipping our bread. We ordered the fresh burrata served with sautéd peppers and arugula. Fabulous! My husband ordered the veal Saltimbocca and I ordered the garnicale cacio e pepe which I can rarely find. Both were delicioso! Dessert was decadent; Fresh made cannoli and chocolate molton cake with vanilla bean gelato! Highly recommend this authentic restaurant!!

Very comfortable environment. We sat at the bar. The bartender Alex was very knowledgeable on what could be made gluten free. They have a great gluten free menu. Mondays are half price wine bottle night . We enjoyed a great bottle of Montepulciano . The food was all fabulous. Bread and gluten-free rolls and olives were served to start our meal. The gluten-free rolls were so light and airy like a cloud . Our dinner consisted of gluten-free calamari and baked mushrooms . The marinara sauce on the mushrooms was so delicious it was hard to stop eating . Our main course was pasta with peas and mushrooms. Best part is I have leftovers for lunch !

The restaurant was nicely lit, good atmosphere, knowledgeable wait staff and some add'l staff were training which made me feel good! We had the Calimari and eggplant parm, and bolegnase w/ an extra meatball. It was my son 's Birthday and they left a card and some sunny stars to say HBD!!! We didn't stay for dessert but I'm certain the staff was going to sing in Italian. Our server, Simone was great!

Always a five star experience for both service and the food. We live in New York and happened to be traveling to Newport with my cousin, who happens to be a very discerning chef and was in town from the Midwest. She and her husband have dined throughout the world. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to introduce her to my favorite restaurant . From the bread to the wine, Conner, our fantastic waiter , recommended , to the entree's , Pane' didn't disappoint. The cozy atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming , as usual. Chef ordered Carpaccio as an appetizer and declared it better than the best she had previously tasted in Venice . All of our entrees and apps were fantastic. Don't skip the olives that are delivered with the bread...some of the best you'll taste ! I was worried cuz wouldn't like Pane as much as we do and I needn't have worried. She declared that they'll come back to Providence just to dine at Pane' !

This was my first time here. I came for the raisin bread pudding that my cousin swears by it is the BEST. Well, I must say is pretty dawn delicious. If you are a fan like me with the bread pudding you should give it a try to this one. Definitely recommend this place for that. The place itself is pretty nice and cozy and so are the employees.

Beautiful restaurant, was taking my girlfriend for a more fancier date and was the perfect spot. Had been there before and had a great time as well. Great environment and vibe, makes you feel like you're in a traditional italian restaurant with the dim lighting, smooth music, and great service from everyone. Smiles all around, our waitress was very attentive to us and always checked on us to make sure everything was going good. Food was amazing, menu is not overwhelming but plenty of options to choose from, with both my dish (Chicken Carciofi) and her's (Gnocchi Sorentina) coming out absolutely amazing. Would also recommend the Purple Rain drink as well, very refreshing and would be great on a summer day! Overall beautiful spot for a date night, will definitely be coming back.

Atwells Avenue is a little slice of Italo-phile greatness in the sometimes grungy city of Providence. Though Miami/Fort Lauderdale style hookah bars blasting rap music have infiltrated this once old school street lined with classic Red Sauce Italian joints, it still has a faint feel of Italy's small town piazzas ... if Italy's famous yellow stucco buildings were replaced with giant square triple deckers with vinyl siding. The two most picturesque restaurants on Atwells Avenue (not counting the old school Jimmy Marzilli's Canteen, which looks to be transported from the 1920's) are Constantino's/Venda which looks like it could have been designed by the same Disney Imagineers who built Epcot ... and Pane Vino which looks much more European. To save you time ... a synopsis of the review: - Outdoor seating is the best option as inside is very cramped and people brush past you no matter where you sit. - The food is average, at best, but tries to remain authentic Italian. - If you are eating for atmosphere, this place will make you feel most like you are in Italy (outside). Let's dive in ... We were seated outside and within 5 minutes, a group of old codgers walked out the door and one of them stopped and blasted a loud fart 2 feet away from our faces while we were seated. Welcome to Atwells Avenue at 8 p.m. Aside from our gassy friend who walked promptly to his car after his bout with doorway flatulence, all was pretty good with the atmosphere. Nice flowers in buckets, tables distanced and a great waiter who was very attentive and personable. Constantinos has music and dancing on the weekends if you prefer a more lively atmosphere but the tables are more spaced out at Pane Vino. The food was similar to many RI Italian restaurants ... average. The cacio con pepe (an Italian version of deconstructed macaroni and cheese made with spaghetti, was more like a spaghetti al fredo with pepper. In fairness, outside of Italy, I have not found a suitable version as the American versions seem to go heavy on the cream. The worst dish of the day (other than old man toots) was the Frito Misto. In Italy the batter is just barely there ... lighter than tempura and almost flaky. A little salt and lemon ... dry crisp batter and fresh seafood ... nothing better. What we got here was thick fried batter which was overcooked to almost brown and soggy with oil. Maybe it was double battered and not patted down before plating ... but this was not a frito misto as described on the menu (lightly battered) this was a thick cotlrnmeal style batter. Way too heavy, way too greasy and way too overcooked. I'd have sooner eaten $18 worth of fried dollar bills, which is what it cost. The meatballs were good. I'm used to a crisp/pan fried edge with a juicy inside. (Rao's spoiled me) Most will find them acceptable. Not the best ... not the worst. The red sauce was typical of Providence ... blended to a soup-like consistency and very sugar-sweetened. Again, not the worst I've had but far from the best. The chicken dishes are good. Nicely reduced sauce, cooked well ... maybe a bit on the salty side. Probably nothing someone would complain about ... but nothing to write home about. The seafood di mare was good. The potato cakes served as a side were okay but would have been better if they weren't stone cold in the center making us wonder, Gordon Ramsay-style, if they were fresh or frozen. Much better than the frito misto though. Overall, we felt the atmosphere and good service made up for the lackluster food. You couldn't pay me to eat inside it was so cramped but outside was nice on a summer night. Other than the Frito Misto, everything was edible and okay. I will mention that the wine list was fantastic with several great Napa cabs and Tuscan wines. Maybe a few of the better Tuscan wines I've had ... many were 2016 vintage which is fantastic for that region. We probably would come back for the atmosphere alone. The food we can put up with. Hopefully the farty old men will go on different days.

My first time here and I was very impressed. The food was delicious, the menu had every classic Italian dish you can think of. We loved the Arancini appetizer and for our entrees, my wife got the gnocchi which is made in-house and I got the bolognese; both had perfectly cooked pasta and flavorful sauces. The staff was extremely welcoming and attentive. When I want Italian food, Pane E Vino will definitely be a go-to spot from now on. Make sure to make reservations because it's a small restaurant.

My husband and I had such a wonderful experience here for our anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was perfect! They even decorated our table with rose petals!

I always have a 5 star experience at the restaurants in the DeQuattro group. Our server was Dwight and he was top notch! When you get a server like him, you definitely want to come back. Food was superb- Caesar salad, chicken funghi, and the incredible affogato. All nicely sized portions. The drinks such as our pear martinis were also excellent. Look forward to returning

Five stars beginning to end. I was worried about parking (busy Federal Hill neighborhood) and was so happy to see a valet waiting to park my car. That started things off right. Then somehow they knew it was our anniversary, and not only was our table decorated with a card and flower petals - everyone who came to the table wished us a happy day. Nice touch. The food was amazing. Olives and oil and bread were lovely to start, then we had some kind of cheese baked with mushrooms and red sauce - heavenly. I would have been content with that and a glass of wine. But no, we tried the fettuccine with mushrooms and peas in a creamy sauce, and the cacio e pepe - both perfectly executed. We really should have stopped there, but the dessert list beckoned- olive oil cake (sounds weird, I know, but so good!) and cannoli AND affogato. We had to waddle to the car, in the end, but it was a happy waddle. Love the atmosphere (kind of a busy, friendly, happening vibe) and the low-key respectful and friendly staff. We will definitely not be waiting for our next anniversary to plan a return trip!

First time trying. Nice atmosphere. Nice waitstaff. The food was average and pricey. They have veal on several dishes however, my veal was not so good. No flavor and an almost greyish color. Probably won't be back.

Being brought up Italian you have come to expect certain things when it comes to Italian cuisine (using the proper ingredients and preparing it properly). As a human who has eaten all of of one's life you also come to expect basic tenets of eating (should be edible). Unfortunately, Pane e Vino did not impress on the Italian side and failed miserably on the basics. The salad should not be swimming in dressing and the pasta should not be so hot as to be dangerous to eat. This is not an exaggeration - I burned my throat eating my gnocchi and brought it home in order to eat it. It all my years eating fresh gnocchi from my grandmother and mother (me as well), or eating out have I ever had to wait for my sauce to reach safe eating temperatures. NEVER. My wife even tried it (about 10 minutes after it was served) and could not eat it. If it was not for our waitress, this would have been 1 star.

We made a reservation for a Saturday night and were very excited to come here. However, we weren't seated until over an hour after our reservation time because there was a big family party in the back, and we were frankly very frustrated when we were finally seated. However, the customer service and quality of the food more than made up for this wait. The waiter and waitresses were professional and lived up to their restaurant's high-end reputation. They took our jackets, presented our wine, gave us new utensils for each dish, etc. We also appreciated them providing us with complimentary calamari to compensate for the delay. I ordered a seasonal Italian 3-course meal and absolutely enjoyed it! Although I'm very uncultured in Italian dining, the dishes were distinctively authentic. They had fresh ingredients that came together to create nuanced flavors. I especially enjoyed the fish and broccolini of the second course. We will definitely return to Pane E Vino for its great customer service and delectable dishes. TLDR: Great customer service despite busy dinner hours and fresh, authentic high-end Italian food.

Can not recommend enough, best specials on the hill. Valet is on top of it and the wait staff are amazing!

First time here and I must say I was impressed with the taste, quality and selection of food. Had the duck confit with fig ravioli. Interesting flavors and very tasty however I found the fig ravioli added too much sweetness to the dish. My date has the scallops with risotto and that was excellent. Our sangrias were on point, the cheesecake dessert was perfect and expresso and cappuccino were done right. Not weak like many places. Definitely holds up to the coffee quality in Europe. Service was professional, friendly and attentive. 2 thumbs up from both of us. Great job to the chef, staff and owners. Will definitely return!

Pane E Vino is a nice Italian restaurant on Federal Hill. I ordered the arancini as an appetizer and it was yummy! The apple cider sangria was just the right drink for a cold winter night. The lobster ravioli was a 10/10! I highly recommend it! The restaurant was a little bit tight in between tables, but that's just preference for myself. At the end of my dinner, the waiter gave me a complimentary limoncello on the house! Now who can say no to that!? Valet parking is available which is great!

We have visited this restaurant many times. It is my favorite on the hill. Staff is friendly and helpful. I love the small but very comfortable feeling. Every meal has been wonderful. I always try the specials have never been disappointed. Make sure to make reservations.

One of those places on my list I've been meaning to get to - finally got here thanks to my aging little brother celebrating the ripe age of 32. Why not do it on the Hill? Found parking on the street which is always a plus but they do offer complimentary valet parking. It was a Monday night which I didn't know happened to be half off bottles or glasses of wine - why help myself, why don't I? We were seated in a corner booth which was nice as it lent itself to a more intimate setting for our party of 5. We started with calamari, mussels, arancini and the squash blossoms. All were very good. We all ordered different dishes - I went with the pork chop and boy oh not that little piggy sure was tasty - cooked perfectly and came with gnocchi nuggets and some cauliflower, I enjoyed it immensely. My bf loves a good veal parm and he said this was prob one of the best he's had. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, with the exception of the duck, my SIL liked the duck but wasn't crazy about the sweet tasting ravioli that came with it - the birthday boy said his steak was delicious. We ended with the bread pudding - wow, just wow. My brother didn't enjoy his cheesecake as much as he'd like but all in all, we had a great night here. Our server was awesome - super friendly and knowledgeable and gave us just enough attention without being overbearing. Glad I finally got to come check this place out and will definitely return.

Amazing food and service! Everything was so wonderful! The pork chop with brown butter gnocchi is to die for! The wine list is complete with so many delicious Italian wines! Nice quiet ambiance, looks like you're stepping into Italy!

4 star rating seems accurate to me. Definitely a solid 4 stars. Food, ambiance, and service were all on point. Scallops and lobster ravioli and cacio pepe mains were very good. The charcuterie board was excellent for a starter. Service was friendly. Would return.

Good food for a party of 6. Meatballs were delicious. Wine Chianti was excellent. Calami fresh. Bologanese was tasty. The staff was very attentive. We were glad we made a reservation on a Saturday night. Valet parking was a plus for this area in Federal hill.

We chose Pane e Vino - Providence for the recent Mother's Day occasion at the very last minute, mostly because we heard how great their Gluten-free menu was. Due to it being Mother's Day & graduation season, we knew it would be hard to book a standard table, and it was. Called in the day of and spoke to Austin who was amazing & let us sit at the bar instead of outside. THANK YOU AUSTIN!!! Our bartenders for the night were Brian & Sam. We were pleased with the food, service & overall vibe of the restaurant. Food & drinks were DEELISH!!!! Restaurant was a little tight, crowded & noisy...but we managed to enjoy nonetheless. Will def be back in the future & we happily recommend :)

We discovered this place on a Reddit thread as one of the best Italian places to eat. The recommendations did not disappoint. Everything was phenomenal from the service to the food. Our server was attentive and paced our evening perfectly from the appetizers through dessert. The charcuterie board (small) was perfect for two people and could have probably fed another. I ordered the special that night, which was lobster ravioli, filet topped with lobster claw meat and broccoli. It was mouth watering. For dessert we ordered limoncello and their trio of cannolis. My favorite was one made with a praline shell. I would definitely come back here! You can make reservations, which I'd highly recommend especially given recent Covid protocols.

great from beginning to end- bread with olive oil/EVOO was great- excellent wine list and super recommendation, food through dessert was excellent.

Chicken Milanese was to die for!!! Great selection of wines. Kept the bread coming. Perfect cozy birthday dinner spot.
