Yelp
A nice new steakhouse for Las Vegas. This is not your typical steakhouse, the decor and the vibe are completely Vegas, fun, loud, and uninhibited. From the reception outside of the restaurant to the hosts, to the servers, we were greeted with smiles and class. Our table wasn't quite ready, so we were escorted to the bar and ordered our first drink there. Our bartender Cassie was awesome. So welcoming and went over the drink menu with me, I was the first person to order their new drink that was just added to the menu that evening, The Dirty Rotten Scoundrel. A Remy Martin-based drink, it's delicious and I hope it stays on the menu because I want it again. Hubby had the Papi Mojito which was also delicious. We weren't at the bar long, before the hostess came to retrieve us and escort us to our table.
I'm not going to lie, I was disappointed when we were shown our table. They have all the 2 tops lined up together. So one person sits on the banquet side and one in a chair across a tiny table. I had to squeeze between the adjacent table to take my seat at the banquet. This is NOT a romantic setting for a couple, you are basically on top of each other. The caveat is, that since it's so loud in the restaurant, you can't hear the other couple's conversations, and you have to speak loudly to hear your conversation with your date.
Our server was at our table tout sweet, he was the only person who was not friendly. He was never rude but no smile, and no introduction. We never got his name. The odd thing is he came and "educated" my husband on how to order off the menu. I guess he thought we had never been to a steakhouse before. He was odd. His runner however was a gem, she was so sweet and always on top of things.
We followed the server's "instructions" and ordered starters, then our entrees and our sides. Amazing, I never knew that's how you ordered at a steakhouse.. LOLOL We started with the Golden Osetra Caviar, absolutely delicious, they are not generous with the blini's and I found myself piling on the caviar to make sure I had something to eat it all up with. We also ordered the bone marrow starter, I wish we didn't get this. It didn't have any of that gooey fat running out of it. The lighting is very dim, so it was difficult to see what they had done with it, but we didn't enjoy it. The toast points served with it should have been with our caviar, that was good.
Service moves quickly here, it's not a leisurely dinner, as soon as you finish a dish they remove it and bring the next one quickly. Our entrees appeared magically. Hubby ordered the lamb chops, I ordered the boneless rib eye with a Point Reyes crust. Two problems I had right off the bat, my rib eye was COATED with just pure blue cheese. I love blue cheese, but this was so much I couldn't taste my steak. The second issue was that they pre-sliced the steak before they brought it to you. I wish they had told us about this, I do not like my steak pre-cut for me. I have pretty good knife skills and can do this myself. Now my leftovers are dried up and I didn't have them for breakfast. Not the best steak I've ever had. It was decent, but not worth the money it costs IMO. Hubby disliked his lamb. It was gamey and not seasoned.
The real winners were the sides. We absolutely LOVED the mac n cheese and the whipped potatoes. The mac n cheese with Gruyere is so freaking good. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts and the french fries. They were good too, I felt the fries were too salty, but hubby liked them.
We did not have dessert but took a look at the menu. There is a $1000 Baked Alaska on the menu, Which brings me to the cost of dinner here. It is not inexpensive. With drinks and caviar, etc, it was over $600 for both of us.
I think we will go back, but we want to sit at the bar, where we can hear each other and have light fare. I would love to go back for the caviar service, drinks, and maybe a couple of sides. I have attached pictures of their bathroom, it's a beautiful bathroom but ladies, the lighting is so bad that you can not reapply lipstick with a visual there.
