Paradise by Way of Kensal Green Review - Notting Hill - London - The Infatuation

"With leather, gold detail, animal heads, and the odd religious effigy here and there, this place shows just how strange some people’s idea of paradise can be. Head to the back however, and you’ll find a quite lovely outdoor space that’s perfect for setting up camp in before the sun goes in. Even then the the fairy lights and statues make this one of London’s more...atmospheric...secret-ish patios." - Jake Missing

We had a little party in Paradise , the staff were amazing, everyone was so friendly and helpful. Big thank you to Kristina (not sure if this is the right spelling of her name), the manager, she was absolutely fantastic. No request was too much. The food was delicious, we ordered different boards and there was plenty of food to go around. We were also allowed to play our own music as it was Sunday and there was no DJ. Lovely experience!

We had a fantastic experience at this beautiful pub on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. We were really impressed with the building's charm and the spacious outdoor areas, which would be perfect on a dry day. We're definitely coming back to try their Sunday roast – it's on our list!

Great atmosphere, both Staff and security friendly, food was delicious and well presented. The only issues our group had was with drinks which took 15-20 mins to receive once ordered and in 2 occasions we had to remind the waitress about our drinks.

Fantastic place ! Thank you Cristina for providing me and my guests with this incredible experience, your good energy and the passion you have for your work is incredible, Cristina she’s was adorable.. The Lovely staff are super knowledgeable and friendly. Overall, it was an amazing experience—the crowd was friendly and welcoming. It didn't take long before we were chatting and hanging out with different groups. And best of all? The drinks are extremely affordable. Great selection of drinks too .Definitely one of the best happy Birthday experience I’ve had! Thank you all Paradise team 👌

Google
The service was stunning, warm, welcoming, amazing. The sofas in the middle of the room are a bit of a bummer, kills the atmosphere of the room, old layout was much nicer. The food used to be better too, I mean it was OK and tasty, but not much of a surprise. Nevertheless; always love to stop by for dinner anyway.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such an amazing experience here! The staff were incredibly friendly, and the lady manager was so welcoming — she even took the time to show us around the different rooms (the place is quite big, but all the rooms are connected). We visited on a Friday night, and to our surprise, there was a DJ playing, which turned our evening into something unexpectedly wonderful. The vibe was fantastic — we met so many cool people on the dance floor, including the super talented (and handsome!) rapper/singer Steelo182. The food was absolutely fantastic, and combined with the warm hospitality and lively atmosphere, it made for an unforgettable night. Definitely a place worth visiting again!

I've just had the chefs roast which was fantastic. Yorkshire pudding was soft after I drenched it in gravy and their roast potatoes were crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle , a flavoursome meal washed down with a lovely pint of beer. This is what Sundays are about . Bravo Paradise

Google
Fantastic place for beer lovers! I had an amazing experience here. The beer selection is top-notch — from crisp lagers to bold IPAs and rich stouts, there’s something for every taste. You can really tell they care about quality and craft. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and full of character. Whether you’re popping in for a quick pint or spending the evening with friends, it’s got that perfect balance of chill and lively. The interior is cozy but still has a great buzz, especially in the evenings. What truly makes the place stand out, though, is the staff. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and always happy to help you choose the right beer or recommend something new to try. You never feel rushed, and the service is consistently great. I’ll definitely be coming back — one of the best spots around for a proper pint and good vibes.

Yelp
I'd actually not had the best experience the first time I'd visited, the waiting staff were slow and the food wasn't great at all, in fact I recall getting the wrong meal and not getting a starter. However, last nights visit was the opposite. We had such a nice evening dining. The food came at a nice reasonable pace, the food was delicious and the staff were very welcoming and delightful. To start, the menu wasn't too much, just the right selection with a nice range. The chorizo and prawn starter was flavoursome and a taste of the tuna was also soft and well presented. My main was lamb and it just fell apart, nicely cooked and well seasoned and portioned well. My wife and mother-in-law had the fish which also was cooked just right. The restaurant itself has a cozy atmosphere with an old fashioned decor that'll keep you looking around! We'd also found an amazing deal online which I'd suggest doing some research on as it came to a very reasonable price for all 3. The bar is also a great area to chill before or after your delightful evening, I'd also recommend having a look at the cocktail list! In all, last night was a delight and wouldn't mind coming back soon!

Yelp
I went to watch some live music at Paradise and on a first visit, was completely transfixed by the place. The decor is the ultimate in kitsch - think lots of antique furniture, cool floral prints, sofas, mirrors, funky lights and lamps. It almost like your 'home from home' which is probably why it is so popular and attracts a host of dedicated locals. The pub is huge - lots of different rooms on a couple of levels which are used for music nights, screenings and general private events. The main bar area has a really cool atmosphere and I have heard that Kate Moss comes here occasionally. It has a lovely 'local' feel but is always busy with a mixed crowd of young and old. Also, if you're into your fashion, you will always find someone like-minded here! It is a shame I don't live nearer as I would definitely visit on a much more frequent basis. A good reason to move to North London!

Yelp
You wouldn't expect to find this place in this area but its a pleasant suprise. The decor is great, it feels like you have walked into some early 1900's house, with private rooms decorated with fires, books and big red leather chairs you would to sink into. We came to the Paradise for dinner, and the dining rooms is decorate with birdcages and candles, and all looks extremely decadent. The food was very good, and isn't afraid to push the boundaries, expect to find foie gras, duck veloute, steak, venison amongst the dishes. With all this in mind our meal was ruined by the dreadful service. I have no idea how our waitress is in customer facing role but i think a career change should be in order. Drinks were slammed on the table, and although we were aware we had a table turnaround of 2 1/2 hours we were constantly rushed to put our orders through. They even made us call our friends who were not there to see what they wanted to order. I would like to return but the poor service really put a dampener on our meal, which is a shame as this place has real potential. Far too pretentious.

Yelp
Been coming here for nearly 20 years. Is that bad? I've celebrated New Years in here, a 40th birthday, a company Christmas meal and party, and numerous dinners. Probably shows I love it, and will be back. Decor is magnificent, and food divine. A slightly older crowd which now suits me fine. Recipe for a great night out.

Yelp
Went along to this place to participate in "How to Solve a Problem Like Murder" Upon entering Paradise By Way Of Kensal Green I was taken in by its spacious room, lovely bar, statues, bird cages hanging from ceilings, marbled type round tables and flowers. The whole atmosphere of the restaurant was buzzing. They even have another large bar area in the back, a upstairs, dinning area and a private off set room with a long table for dinning. I did not have time to eat in the dinning area but I did order a burger from the bar menu. They make all their own food from scratch and I must admit the burger was delicious and I am usually really fussy when it comes to burgers. It was made out of pure meat (no onion thank god) and was very chunky and cooked to perfection. I though had mine plain as I don't like cheese etc in my burger but my friend does and my it was oozing with cheese and all sorts of veg looked amazing. If I am in the area next time I will definitely try out their restaurant area. After we had finished are burger we headed to the stairs to go up as that is where the event takes place. We was handed a envelope with a mask to wear, pen, suspect page and not page. We was led up the stairs by a boy and girl (well two adults pretending to be children) and then we entered a room where there was some performing half naked sexy dancing ladies who were part of the whole act / story. I cant say much about the story as don't want to give anything away but basically there is affairs going on between the whole group of woman and their boyfriends so many arguments happen but the best part was that the dancing that the ladies and men done throughout the show there was about 6 different dances throughout the night. The boy and girl guides you to important pieces of info throughout the night and also whilst going around listening and watching the acting taking place you have to be quite which is good as does not spoil what is going on and can take in more what is going on. Also the difference with this murder mystery is that you had to solve who was going to be murdered and who was the killer so unique in that respect. I got the killer right and my friend got who would be murdered correctly. However even though we got them right we did not get a price just a slip of paper with a saying on it so that was a tad disappointing and also we could not even keep the masks which i think is quite unhygienic to give back for them to reuse again and its not even like the masks were expensive they were cheap. However well worth the money as the acting by all was superb and a great plot the best murder mystery I have ever done. So don't miss out and book your murder mystery now via Y Plan.

Yelp
I LOVE this place. During a visit to London, a few friends decided to take me here for a night out and I was completely blown away by the atmosphere and decor. It actually felt like we just walked into a house party in an early 1900s mansion. Great place for drinks and electronic music.

Yelp
Really lovely place for food and drinks! The club section upstairs isn't as great but the drinks taste great

Yelp
It's okay if you are going for a beer at weekdays. It's nice to sit and chill in their quirky sofas. Friday and Sat, forget it. Awful sound system upstairs and half rich / half trendy douche bags everywhere. Food, don't do it. Extremely overpriced. I've done it 2 times now and that's 2 times too many. Main course lamb was raw inside and had to be sent out, dessert was burned. Staff can barely speak English. For that price, dear Paradise, you have to try a bit harder. Unfortunately locals don't seem to care.

Yelp
I inwardly groan every time someone suggests Paradise for a night out. My hesitation is because a) it's so freaking far away that once you're there you are usually trapped for the night; b) I hate standing in the inevitable line; and c) it is known to be full of pretentious private parties. This time I had the brilliant idea of making dinner reservations at the restaurant before attending a private party, bypassing the line and signing up for the pretension. I would give the food 3 stars and the drinks 2 a star rating. The special "elderberry martini", highly recommended by the waitress, was pink and very sweet. She forgot our wine order until the end of the meal when we really didn't want it any more. But the food was good. We had oysters to start - cleaned properly, an oyster essential - and the rabbit terrine, which was smooth and rich. The mains were good, although not especially memorable. Still, next time someone proposes a night out at Paradise, I will be sorely tempted to book a table in the dining room beforehand, even just for appetizers so that we can avoid the annoying lines (both inside and out).

Yelp
i wanted a true sunday roast meal during my vacation so my London local friend took us here to Paradise and i'm so glad that he chose this place! this is definitely out of the "touristy" area of town so I felt like i got a true local experience here. we started off with a bottle of red wine which was pretty affordable at like 20ish pounds or so and for lunch, i went with the prime rib roast (16.50) and it's served with all the trimmings. now i'm a meat and potatoes kind of girl so a sunday roast is my kind of meal haha. the prime rib was served a perfect medium rare with roast potatoes, some veggies, and yorkshire pudding. it was so good! i only wish sunday roasts were a normal thing here in the OC haha

Yelp
I've had meals at the restaurant before and met friends for a drink at the ground floor bar, but the absolute highlight for me is the Wednesday open mic night upstairs. The music's great, not your average girl with a guitar gig. They have a professional house band who accompany most acts and a headliner, ensuring a good audience made up of supporting friends and family and regular music lovers. The bar is usually packed with people spilling out onto the landing. And all set against a beautiful backdrop of vintage mirrors and religious paraphernalia, the evenings just fly by and before you know it it's midnight.

Yelp
I didn't go here for food so cannot vouch for the cuisine, but boy the barmen know what they're doing. I had the most delicious drink which had a dollop of marmalade at the bottom and used Southern Comfort (a spirit which I hate and haven't drunk since I was about 16!)- but hey compliments to the bar I went back for more, and more and more and more! The decor is quirky, 20 mismatching lampshade hung from the ceiling of one room, mismatched furniture of the highest quality, grand paintings on the wall, large staircases leading you to different areas of this pub/ restaurant/ house/ mansion and even a karaoke room. Never a dull moment.

Yelp
I Love the Paradise This place has been around forever but has really up'd it's game in the last couple of years. It's now a cosy super cool local pub, I live just around the corner and can be found ejoying a drinks there after work most nights a week. As well as a great local it's a fabulous place to dine with friends (the resteraunt is devine) and is also a great place for partying on the weekend. The only downside is that it stops me ever leaving West London as has almost all I need for entertainment in one place :-) If you are coming for a party on the weekend arrive early as it does tend to get very busy - you may have to que a lttle if you arrive late and sometimes there are slight ques for drinks when its busy on a weekend, but apart from that I can't fault the place. I love it and would reccomend anyone to try one of it's many delights - Comedy on Wednesday nights is ace to check out after dinner. Top marks all round to Paradise.

Yelp
Quirky decor, decent food, reasonable priced drinks, a bit isolated I've been wanting to go to Paradise ever since I read the poem "The Rolling English Road" (http://en.wikisource.org/wiki/The_Rolling_English_Road). When one of my friends suggested it for her birthday dinner, I eagerly jumped on the bandwagon and come Saturday night I dragged my hungover self all the way to Kensal Green (Bakerloo line...I had to look it up as I've never heard fo the station before...it's actually still considered Zone 2!). I had a little trouble finding the place despite it's size and location on the main road. The exterior is a dull gray with little lighting which allows it to blend in with the surroundings, especially at night. Once you get inside however, the vibe changes completely with the first bar being quite lively with a range of patrons, but typically youngish (20s to mid 30s). The restaurant is cosy without being crowded although the staff were happy to let me wander around looking confused for a while before asking if they could help me. The house wines were adequate and affordably priced. I was a bit disappointed in the food as I had heard great things about this gastropub. I ordered the gnocchi with taligello cheese which at first bite was delicious if slightly too chewy but quickly being overwhelmingly rich. the light smattering of sauce helped cut through the thick flavour and texture of the gnocchi but was gone all too soon. My other gripe was the size of the plates relative to the food provided. The portions were sufficient but bordered on the minimalist side but the plates were easily large enough to each hold a feast for kings. Given our table had a couple more people crowded on, it was a challenge to find enough real estate to put the plates down. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was also a bit small, but beautifully presented to the extent that you almost didn't want to eat it to preserve the effect. Afterwards, we headed upstairs to the main bar and had a couple rounds of shots (you can get 6 shots of vodka/tequila/sambuca for £15). The upstairs is oddly decorated with a red lightbulb cross adorning one wall which doesn't really match the rest of the area but was intriguing. The bar staff are quick and efficient and the music was suitable for casual dancing. Overall, I would go back but most likely for dinner as opposed to the start of a night out as the location means it takes forever to get back to central london.

Yelp
I think I like this place?? I don't know. The place itself, the style and architecture is really awesome. Old school, yes please. There are multiple levels and a dining area and a cool little library looking private room for parties. A few different outdoor garden areas, generally taken over by the smokers during winter time. It's great because it's close, I could technically bike all the way there or at least walk a while then catch a bus the rest of the way. I've been to a reggae event upstairs and also a lazy sunday afternoon. Both times relatively packed but still managed to find our own space. I just feel awkward here. Like Im not trendy enough or local enough to be here. Not sure why that is. Meh, check it out if you're in the neighborhood. Or just walk down the alleyway next door to the other pub (they have free popcorn hehe).

Yelp
Hadn't dined here for a few years and forgot how good this place is. Great ambience, excellent food - new chef is doing amazing things, front of house staff are excellent - we had David who was friendly, attentive, and knows his stuff. There was also a French waitress who should get creds for being awesome. Wines were also great. Now the food,... I had the honour of being the first to try the new fish dish which I should note was divine - great balance of flavours and well cooked piece of fish. My dinner date had the slow cooked lamb, which was seriously foodgasm worthy. Side of polenta chips (delicious) and kale tipped the scale to super full, but had to try dessert.... Choc torte with salted caramel and salted caramel icecream... Gotta put in extra hours at the gym but totally worth it. Already booked to come back...

Yelp
Since the closure of our beloved Regent, we've had to find another after-work drinking hole. The obvious choice is The Paradise. It's a bar-cum-club with a quirky crowd and the weirdest decor you'll ever see. I mean, seriously. Crucifixes to the left of you, Bird cages to the right. It's not sure what its trying to be, but luckily it gets mighty dark in there so as soon as the lights go down, it'll feel like any hipster joint. The crowd changes week on week, but its always buzzing and there's always some event going on. It's pricey, but you're not over blessed for choices in w10, so my advice is head for Portobello Road or head for The Paradise.

Yelp
Paridise.by way of Kensal Green. Not really my kind of pub. It's almost trying too much for me. Poetry nights, comedy nights and a really posh dining area. I'm tired just thinking about it. Makes me want to find a quiet pub to relax in. The décor isI'm not sure how to describe it. I supposed it's quite dramatic with the statues and everything. Not really my bag. They do serve 1 real ale here. Spitfire. Somehow ended up with a cracking pint of the stuff, even though the barmaid didn't really have an idea about how to pour it and was fairly vocal on not enjoying the exercise it gave her.

Yelp
British Vogue just made a list of the new cool neighbourhoods in London, and Kensal Green is one of the places listed, so it's a good time to head there for a night out before it gets over hyped. One place to visit is Paradise at Kensal Green. I was there for Halloween and it was loads of fun. It was packed; there was even a queue outside. It's a large space so even if you are in the main room upstairs with loads of people, you can still find some space at the outdoor terraces. One thing though, the music sucks beyond words. They had a live band playing this nasty heavy metal, yuk. The music policy changes, so maybe I was just unlucky to have those mad so called musicians on stage. They also had a belly dancer who was dancing to the rhythm of drums while balancing a huge sword on top of her head. A truly thriller night.

Yelp
Paradyse Pub is Amazing!! Interior design is fantastic, athmophere on the two patio and roof top terrasse are very pleasant, particularly to have coffee in the afternoon. Then, this 'gastro british pub' is getting transfomed in a very good club when the end of the week is coming. I particularly appreciate Friday's nights, electro and trendy music is all around and people chiled and danced! A place you have to visit in West London !!
google avatar

Duncan C.

Yelp
Great place to have a drink and talk with plenty of space on the ground floor. But also great atmosphere to danse on cool music (not electro) on the first floor. So really best of both worlds. Just a pity it closes early at 2am on weekends

Yelp
Great Food, Excellent Service and has a real atmosphere. Worth a visit. Book the private dining upstairs or just lounge in the bar.

Qype User (Hampst…)

Yelp
This pub used to really be nice. My first visit was back in 2004 and underwent a "refurb" and new ownership in 2006 or 2007. And not for the best. The decor is dramatic which I like but they've changed some of the old comfy furniture and chairs with new ones. The crowd here is really cheesy now and does not feel local but feels like a "destination" pub. The staff are a bit rude and the doormen are rude. Popped in here on Boxing Day for one and probably won't be back again.
google avatar

Qype User (Hembag…)

Yelp
I really like this place. Its local to me and its a west london GEM. Great for food, great for dancing, great for drinks and chats, great for the outside areas (small terraces). ON fri and sat its open late. It has different floor levels with different atmospheres so it kind of suits everyone. I LIKE IT!

Yelp
Been here twice, enjoyed the first time as was quite drunk, didn't feel so comfortable the next time - funny mix of people. Cool layout could be a lot better

Yelp
This Place is unreal. It's the coolest pub ever! It's spread over 3 floors and has lots of different rooms, corners, nooks and crannies to chill in depending on your mood. The main room, downstairs has the funkiest décor and next to that there is a library- a gorgeous snug with all walls covered in books, comfy sofas and even a chess board Upstairs compromises of a number of rooms including two main ones in which there are decks and normally music is being played. Any of these rooms can be hired free of charge for private functions- it's ideal for a birthday party and it's open til late!

Yelp
Hmm, where to start? Paradise pub by way of Kensal Green features an array of fine things. Decor is right up there with the best of pub/clubs. I never really go for these, as they are either too clubby or too pubby, but Paradise achieves a utopian equilibrium. Two striking features of the venue: 1.) The central stair case. It is old, it has paint peeling off the banister, but it's the centre point. Everyone streams through this narrow canal of wood and you never know who you might run into. 2.) The balcony. Just when things are getting too hot or too heavy, step outside with the smokers and take in some fresh air. I debated about the utter lameness of Silvio Berlusconi with an Italian politics student on this chilly moon spot. Music was solely house. That wasn't too much of a problem at first, as it was well-chosen and flowed. So as a lubricant for the party it worked. Could have used some variety though. That said I saw posters for some great theme parties at Paradise, including a rockabilly/50s vintage rock night. Think this has already come and gone but its indicative of the things going on there. Nice website as well with a cute G.K. Chesterton quote (and eponymous source of the club's name): For there is good news yet to hear and fine things to be seen, Before we go to Paradise by way of Kensal Green. One quibble: there were a couple of drunken rowdy types who threatened to inflict violence upon one another but this was quickly smothered by the good cheer of all those around. I recuse myself from passing judgement on the food as I did not eat. Verdict: will go back - but only on a theme night.

Quirky restaurant with amazing decor, friendly staff & buzzing ambience. Went there for the "How to Solve a Problem like Murder". Well worth a visit.

Yelp
Been here a couple of times for live music (Little Barrie, Aruba Red, Master Shortie) and enjoyed it. Bouncers, however, ruined it for me. Asked everyone for ID and generally harassed us. Were very rude to my wife and actually made her cry. Will not be going back any time soon.

Yelp
first things first... this is not in Kensal Green, I'm not from Kensal, family are though, and this is firmly not in Kensal Green, It's places like this that create areas like maida hill and South West Hampstead... beautifully decked out, I got to have a look around the first few minuets I was in there. When I was a kid (not so long ago) I would have been scared to even venture down that way. So I guess this a result of gentrification, which I suppose is a good thing, but the bar knows this, and have one of those absolute rule policies. But I suppose everywhere needs a place like this, you know the kind of place that makes you feel that you shouldn't touch anything because it has been intentionally been made to look really old Every time I come down I enter with resentful jealousy and leave with glee and a free cab, and always surprised with the room upstairs. love it really, but a pain of a walk home. Would talk about the toilets but I couldn't find them.

Yelp
it's a hell of a long trudge if you use the tube. probably best to go after a long day of walking at portobello market. we went for sunday dinner, which means roast. i had my doubts after the 20 minute long walk from the closest tube station, seeing the weird interior decor (how do you say spooky in french?), and sitting down in a dining room so dark i couldn't read my menu without the help of my cell phone. we had a group of 5 so naturally we all ordered the same thing... actually everyone else ordered the beef roast (rib roast) but i ordered the lamb roast. we waited about 20 minutes before our food arrived. what a massive amount of win each plate was- meat, chard, sweet potatoes, red cabbage with golden raisins, roast potatoes, and yorkshire pudding. and these weren't small portions either. each beef rib roast was easily a pound of meat with my lamb roast being about 3/4 lb but hauntingly delicious. and then came the sticky toffee pudding. now my wife is a sticky toffee pudding connoisseur, and she called it the best stp she's ever had. high praise coming from a picky and usually critical eater. the best way to describe the meal would be generously portioned with hearty flavors exactly as desired to finish a restful weekend. this was my favorite meal in this trip back to the uk. i took a star off for the 20 minute walk from the station to the pub and then also because of the GBP 60 cab fare home. it's not even like we lived in the boonies.

It's more like a very fancy place. I really enjoyed the evening there but it wasn't the food what I liked the most. The vibe was very genuine and the venue quite impressive

Yelp
The best thing about Paradise is the decor. It's incredible-it really has taken 'shabby chic' to new and beautiful extremes. They have amazing sofas, gorgeous floral lamps (one of which my friend and i were considering trying to pinch!), beautiful tall bookcases, old vintage mirrors (again, many of them would look great in my bedroom!) and many more gorgeous interior touches. Their interior designer needs a pay rise as it fits the building perfectly. I love the numerous rooms which are perfect to chat with friends in. During the Portobello Film festival they had a few nights of film showings in one of their upstairs rooms which was great to be part of. There is a real sense of community here and it attracts a great mix of young and old.

Yelp
One of my locals. Best avoided at weekends late in the evening, find it a rather odd crowd. Unless of course you are trying to find something open till 2am in the area! Great ambience/decor for a drink, but avoid eating the food is overpriced and not worth it. It used to be good , maybe the chef has changed.

Yelp
Used to be a go to place for late Fridays or Saturdays if we couldn't be bothered to go into town. So always fond memories of meeting randoms in one of the many rooms, in the smoking areas or the queue for the toilet. Dance floor was packed but good times. Maybe got a bit overcrowded over the last few years as its popularity spread and people from further afield started coming but you can't blame them for that. Sunday roasts are damn good too.

Yelp
I really wish this place had stayed the way it used to be a few years ago. Living across the street from The Paradise is a now a total nightmare, nevermind actually going in there. The influx of trendy East London-style media darlings that infect my boring evenings at home make me feel quite relieved that I'll be moving away soon. Avoid if you're looking for a welcoming atmosphere. Oh, Kensal Rise. How I miss our days together of yore. Someone bring back the gunshots ringing through the night air.

Yelp
Spent a Saturday afternoon here, as a friend rented the upstairs for a multi-band jam session. The decor is lovely and very vintage. The wine selection was decent, the staff were friendly, and overall it was a nice experience. I can only comment about the chips menu-wise, which were cooked to perfection and very crispy. I look forward to a return visit!

Yelp
I love my local. I walk past on my way home from work in Portobello and it's great just to be able to stop off for a drink and some food and know that I will always see friends there too. Last Friday, I popped in for ONE glass of wine and left at closing time. No the first time that has happened and I am sure not the last.

Yelp
Went for dinner...the food was ok...but the service was really bad. It was a tuesday night so mainly empty and the 4 wait staff on duty did their level best to ignore us as much as they could. I grudgingly have to admit that the food was good...but it was really spoilt by rude, ignorant staff. I seem to be alone in my gripes so maybe I was just unlucky.

Yelp
Hmmm the jury is still out in my mind for this place yet. This newly renovated pub has I've heard been a local favourite for years previously attracting the in crowd of the area as well as the odd celeb. Newly refurbished I've tried this place a couple of times. It positions itself (according to its website) as being reminiscent of 'a hedonistic french chateau' errrr ok, if that is what you like while then fair play, but is it me or does some of the interior look a tiny bit - dare I say it - cheap? A little bit like that DIY ragwork so popular years ago when your mum covered every wooden surface in a creamy green paint with rags? The bar looks a little sparse? The ridiculously huge statue in the bar a bit like they are trying a tad too hard? Other areas of the bar are really nice, the little snug room off of the main bar seems a nice plittle place to curl up on a Sunday afternoon with a pint and a paper. If you can get a pint that is, last time I went in the confused and befuddled bar man had to explain that there was a problem and only over priced bottled beer was available. Still, these things can happen, and the reason I haven't completely dismissed this place is the fact that they seem to have a good line up of events taking shape, with parties over the summer with the most recent having a line up that includes a DJ set from the New Young Pony Club, burlesque performers and live music, it seems that they are cashing in with the vibe of london at the moment so I await with interest whether it all works out.

Yelp
Excellent bar which has recently got a refurb into a trendy yet unpretentious venue, from the people who brought you the Westbury and Old queens Head. The staff are friendly and there is also a very nice restaurant out the back. There are lots of hidden rooms and corners which makes this the perfect place to escape. Some excellent music events too, especially on Friday nights. Nice roof terrace for the smokers and interesting artifacts dotted about make this an excellent choice for a local night out.

Yelp
Paradise is a bit of a Tardis - you can't believe how large it is inside. Firstly, there's a main pub/restaurant area, a side room in the style of a manor house library plus a number of function rooms upstairs including outside space. The vibe is young, fresh and expensive although the crowd is a mix of Ladbroke Grove and Kilburn locals and young professionals. The mix seems to work, as is the case with a lot of pubs in West London. Definitely worth checking out, especially for a private party or birthday.

Yelp
This place is amazing! I had never really heard of it before my friend dragged me allong to a gig last Wednesday night. She suggested we get some food in the restaurant beforehand but I had no idea how great it would be.

Yelp
The Paradise Bar Is located in an area which I have very much at heart . The buzz is electric and there is a natural sense of of classy togetherness which stems from the professional newcomers as well as the intergrated locals . This is something you would expect from a West London bar in the cosmopolitan Notting Hill but Paradise is not in Notting Hill and this only goes towards complementing the whole vibe and aura . The Paradise is beautifully set and has two floors which both contain outside garden areas . The people are beautifull and the drinks are very reasonable priced . See you again Saturday !!! Why live in the hell of recession , credit crunch . when you could be in PARADISE ??

Yelp
Paradise was wicked-gorgeous decor, felt really sumptuous, although not pretentous, had a great pub atmosphere. Shame about the England match result...but nevermind hey! I guess if you invent a sport you shouldn't teach other people how to play it better than you! We had loads of fun; drank cocktails, ate amazing food, drank more cocktails, proceeded to lose all inhibitions and dance like a loon to the Cuban brothers! Love it!

Yelp
Impossible not to have a good time! The decor catches you and relaxes you, even though on a busy road. By the time it has got you in it's grasp and you find that you feel like you are 'home'. The bar staff are always really friendly and every request is dealt (and I have asked quite a few) is dealt with swiftly and politely. Nothing seems too great, and that is what makes it great. The food, well, in the last few years it has always been consistently good- yummy in fact. And I have eaten my way through several of their menus and I have never been disappointed either in the bar or in the restaurant. Which hopefully brings me to their dining room. Again, a lovely dining experience with staff that provide a seamless service. In all, I couldn't recommend it any higher. It is by far the best place locally. If they keep on doing what they do I will always be a fan.

Yelp
Paradise is as the names says it is. Paradise. The moment you enter this place, you feel like you have been transported to this secret magical land where you can lose yourself in its various nooks and crannies. I atttended the fun disco night on Friday, it was free entry, got some great bar food (try the grilled courgettes!!) and danced away all night. Didn't realise when it got to 1am and my mates had to literally pull me away. I'm going backkkkk

Yelp
Incredibly interesting, imposing decor that alone is worth the visit. The quail for a starter and pork loin for an entree are both delicious, and service is exceptional.
