Extremely disappointing Christmas Day experience
We had a Christmas Day booking and the entire experience was chaotic from start to finish. After being seated, we waited a long time with no service and couldn’t order drinks beyond the complimentary Prosecco due to lack of staff attention. Starters took an age to arrive, were served at different times, and some were genuinely inedible.
My “smoked chicken & pistachio terrine” bore no resemblance to the menu description and looked like a poorly thrown-together salad. Staff couldn’t explain what it was, and even the manager admitted she wasn’t sure.
Mains were cold, inconsistent across the table despite everyone ordering the same dish, and the advertised sides never arrived. What did come was cold, including cauliflower cheese sent back and returned at the same temperature. When we complained, we were told “the chefs must be tired,” which was frankly unbelievable.
We declined dessert and left. But later discovered we’d been charged for a more expensive bottle of wine than ordered. Given the poor food, service, and organisation, this was a very disappointing way to spend Christmas Day and not something we would recommend.
We have also contacted the restaurant directly but have yet to receive a response, which mirrors our experience during the booking process. Emails went unanswered, we had to chase and find an alternative contact address, and even then waited several days for a reply.
