"California Kahve, a mobile coffee shop run by Molly Welton, will open its first permanent location in the Park James Hotel in Menlo Park. The cafe will operate in the hotel's available indoor and outdoor space throughout the morning and day. The menu will feature elevated versions of the offerings from the mobile setup, including standards like wildflower honey latte and dark chocolate orange mocha, as well as new items such as quiche, ham and cheese croissants, and specialty bowls. Amour Wholesale in Redwood City will supply pastries. The new location will open on May 23." - Paolo Bicchieri

Really enjoyed this boutique hotel. Very quaint but they've thought of it all. Great location. They valet only and there are floor to ceiling windows with top shelf alcohol as a wet bar in your room and decently priced. The windows open for fresh air. Nice stay and they host professional happy hours and events. Food is also within walking distance. Jason's has great breakfast if you need somewhere good to eat within walking distance.

I've heard many great things about Park James Hotel, so my wife and I decided to give it a try for our wedding anniversary. This central location in Menlo Park is convenient to shopping and restaurants. We were greeted upon arrival by a friendly and attentive associate. Check-in took less than 5 minutes without issues. Our room was modern and spacious, with all the necessary amenities. The attention to detail is evident - from the wood floors, ultra comfortable bed/linens, and spotless bathroom. A few other highlights of our stay - great outdoor patio with plentiful seating and a quaint indoor bar to sit back and relax with a nice adult beverage! All staff members were kind and truly seemed to enjoy working at PJ Hotel, hard to find in these tough times. Hats off to Lyle and his team! Overall - truly a wonderful experience. We'll be back!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Park James Hotel, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with warm smiles and outstanding service. The hotel’s chic and modern design immediately set a tone of sophistication and comfort. The room was immaculate and well-appointed, with every detail thoughtfully considered. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the linens were luxurious, ensuring a great night’s sleep. I particularly appreciated the high-quality amenities provided, which added a touch of elegance to my stay. The hotel’s location is fantastic, offering convenient access to nearby attractions and restaurants. Despite being centrally located, the atmosphere inside the hotel was peaceful and relaxing. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at the hotel’s restaurant. The food was delicious, and the presentation was impeccable. The staff was attentive and made excellent recommendations. The fitness center was well-equipped and clean, allowing me to maintain my workout routine effortlessly. I also enjoyed the lovely outdoor spaces, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. Overall, my stay at the Park James Hotel was outstanding. The attention to detail, exceptional service, and luxurious accommodations make it a top choice for anyone visiting the area. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning in the future.

Google
A stylish boutique hotel that is conveniently located, with just the right size to give it a friendly and social vibe. The rooms and interiors are ample in space and has an organic feel that befits the Menlo Park community. The staff are friendly and always willing to engage. We were also able to use the adjunct gym which had the basic equipment. The lobby bar extends to the small courtyard which was a nice place for socializing, for quiet time or for events. Definitely a place worth staying.

Every time I'm in Menlo Park for work, I've always been curious about The Park James Hotel. Having finally stayed there, it absolutely exceeded my expectations! From the moment you step inside, the attention to detail in the rooms, lobby, and dining areas is immediately apparent. The decor exudes the elegance of a boutique Four Seasons hotel, creating a luxurious atmosphere. Situated conveniently off El Camino Real, the hotel's location is ideal. The staff, especially our bartender Eddie, was exceptionally personable. General Manager Lyle also made a memorable impact by ensuring our stay was perfect. I'm already looking forward to my next stay at The Park James Hotel when I return to Menlo Park

Google
This is one of the best hotels in Northern California. The staff is so nice. The garden area is beautiful. It’s dog-friendly. The Wi-Fi network works very well, and I would just say I’m all around highly impressed. You can really tell that someone has taken extreme care to make sure that it’s cozy, clean, safe, and has a personalized, creative feeling.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Park James, a boutique hotel, and I must say, the staff's hospitality exceeded my expectations! Lyle and Trisha’s warm welcome, attention to detail and accommodations made me feel truly valued. Their personal attention to me as a guest new to the area superseded all expectations. The accommodations were not only stylish but also exceptionally comfortable, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The facilities were well-maintained and thoughtfully designed, enhancing the overall experience. I highly recommend this boutique hotel for a delightful stay that combines excellent service, charming accommodations, and top-notch facilities. When I visit Menlo college to watch my son play, Park James hotel will be my home away from home for years to come! Thank you Lyle & Trisha!!

Everything was perfect during my 2 night stay, in one of their king suit. They even had a decorated Christmas tree set up! Wonderful staff, food and drinks, room service was wonderful too. Nice area too. Attached is a photo of the cute Santa hats they had on their bottles at the bar.

Yelp
Was visiting a wedding party staying at the hotel over the weekend. As they were going about their business, I wanted to grab a bite to eat and went down to their bar/restaurant. It was almost 3 pm and no employees were seen. The TV, however, was on. Why? Oh, and two days before stopping by, I emailed the hotel using an email address on their website, but nobody ever replied.

Yelp
Service was nothing short of 5 star from a friendly and warming greeting to above and beyond check in service. I has an issue with my first room because the fridge had a horrible smell but they immediately came up and addressed the matter by switching rooms and even helped with moving my belongings. The food was great in the restaurant with nice vibes but the hostess could've been friendlier. The waiter was awesome and the live band artist was so kind and talented. Wasn't expecting a live band but a nice gem. The decor and interior design was very industrial with a splash of modern chicness. I'll definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Do not go there Overprized for unprofessional service and staff Bar is close ar 9pm No warm breakfast at 9 am not even orange juice " the early bird get the warm " says the staff !!!!!!! Seats, cushions are all spotted and dirty No fridge or minibar in the room No water in the room just an empty jug Unaccetable for that prize

Parsa R.

Yelp
Decent hotel, nice rooms, clean feeling. Staff is not that impressive or well manor.. the Valet situation is abysmal, they force you to valet, no self parking option way overpriced and the valet doesn't know how to drive the cars, I saw this girl slammed the car in front of me into gas it was clearly a stick and she burned the clutch all the way down to the parking garage.. for $30 a night there is no security in the garage either. I think the parking situation and sub par manored employees were my biggest issue during the stay

Paul G.

Yelp
Cleanest room I've ever stayed in. Look at the base boards, vents, shower, behind furniture...pristine! As a bonus, the bed is perfectly positioned for direct airflow from the air vent in the room. Towels and bedding were great. They were soft and void of harsh detergent residue. If you have challenges with sensitive skin, you know what I'm talking about. Staff and the hotel's AI Concierge were friendly and helpful when needed. Will definitely book here again if I'm ever back in the area.

Yelp
Extremely disappointed with my stay at Park James. My husband and I booked park james for own night to celebrate our first marriage anniversary. I chose park james solely based off how amazing their pet policy was-- how much they seemed to care. I hate leaving our dachshund with pet sitters so I was stoked on how pet friendly they appeared. I have attached what they say on their website in the photos. We arrive and no one gives us any instructions on how to park (the valet attendants weren't there and there were no signs on what to do) so we parked on the street and went to check in. Front desk was very stand off ish... definitely not a warm welcome at all. She handed me a paper that I needed to sign stating that we were not allowed to leave our dog unattended in our room and if we did and the dog was making noise, they would call the humane society! I'm sorry, what?!? I've never heard of such a thing-- and this is no where on the website!!! We had a dinner and massages booked and had planned to leave our dog alone for a few hours in the hotel room (which we did anyways bc what else were we supposed to do?) but my whole time out, I kept stressing about my dog being taken by the humane society! Also, we had to ask for a dog bed and a water bowl. None of it was as it was explained on the site. Nothing about this place felt welcoming. It was modern but stale. Left extremely disappointed. I'd rather just stayed at a cheap chain.

Tyler L.

Yelp
For a hotel that thinks it is 4-stars... Let me tell you it is definitely not. Decor is nice. Soundproofing is nonexistent - hallway sounds, other rooms, and the courtyard might as well all be in your actual bed with you. The hotel really seems to be trying to be a local bar / gathering spot / restaurant than an actual hotel. I absolutely felt that they prefer to cater to locals rather than guests. For instance, the restuarant happy hour has a special deal on Mondays for Meta employees. Great. What about your GUESTS? Also, why bother having a full service bar that only serves beer after 9 pm. No room service - at all. Really a disappointment.

Yelp
Came up from LA for an event at Stanford and stayed at the nearby Park James. Everything was perfect from the room, Oak + Violet Restaurant, architecture, styling, service. We had a slight technology hiccup casting from our personal devices, but Mo and the hotel engineers were responsive and committed to resolving which they did. I am sometimes a bit reluctant to stay in a boutique hotel over a big name, but in the case of the Park James do not hesitate. You'll absolutely love it here.

M A.

Yelp
My fiancé and I had our engagement party here last night. We worked closely with Tania and she was phenomenal. The guests that stayed at the hotel enjoyed every single moment and the guests that spent the event with us couldn't stop commenting on how delicious the drinks, food, and desserts were. It was absolutely amazing I couldn't have imagined anything more beautiful.

Yelp
Great hangout, good food and drinks... My wife loved the salmon plate and salad. We will be back.

Yelp
Park James was the first hotel we stayed at after Covid hit, because each room has it's own air filtration system so there is no cross contamination. This place is a modern masterpiece. It has a great balance of engaging elements (without being to tacky) and intelligently designed features that are optimized for comfort. I fell in love with their amazing wooden barnyard doors and the entire bathroom as a whole...wish I could live in it. The rooms are not large but the space is well utilized. It can get a little loud if they have live music at the restaurant. In that case, you should just go down grab a drink and some yummy branzino at Oak and Violet and join in the fun. A great staycation for couples looking for some quality times. Highly recommend this place!

Yelp
Good vibes in an elevated environment! As a frequent traveler, finding a great place to work is key! California Kahve Cafe has delicious oat matcha lattes, WiFi, and comfortable seating. I loved it and will be back!

Tina H.

Yelp
Love love love this hotel and it's incredibly serene, clean and beautiful spaces. My favorite especially during Covid for social distant safe meetings, co-working and live music, it is a wonderfully spaced and set up outdoor lounge. There is delicious food and drink from the restaurant and California Kahve Cafe during the day with its variety of chic seating, live music on Tues, Wed and Thursdays evenings too! This gorgeous sanctuary is a perfect place in the middle of Silicon Valley to gather, meet, cowork, throw events and enjoy. I cannot wait to host events here and look forward to spending time here!

Stacey M.

Yelp
What a great hotel. Convenient to my office and Stanford shopping center. People are extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. I will definitely be back when here for work.

Katie M.

Yelp
It took me a while to choose a place for a staycation weekend with our dog due to covid concerns and I am glad we stayed here! According to their website, each of their room has its own HVAC system - the air between guest rooms is never shared, which gave me peace of mind. We fell in love with this place as soon as we arrived. The staff were amazing and we felt taken care of. The room felt upscale with modern decors. Each room has a pour over coffee set which includes Ritual coffee and a Fellow Kettle. Their bed is also comfortable and we slept really well. The Chromecast tv is another great in-room amenities. The in-room tablet also make it very easy for service requests - we were able to easily ask for a refill of the coffee at a specific time and for our car from valet prior to leaving. One thing they could improve on is to update the Oak+Violet menu in their tablet for in room service, we ordered brunch the night before through the tablet and receive a call the next day saying that their menu was incorrect and we had to reorder based on the paper menu they dropped it off to our room. Our stay was mostly enjoyable and we look forward staying here again in the future.

Sara D.

Yelp
Excellent boutique hotel with impressive service at registration as well as the restaurant! Would definitely stay again, the rooms were great and very clean! I loved that it was a smart room as well, get a room with the courtyard view, they had live music and as great as it was live it was also fun watching it from our room too!

Teenbean I.

Yelp
This hotel gave me good memories. So clean, nice smell, kind worers and delicious dining! I will come back here soon!

Yelp
I would give this place 3.5. I just booked this place while visiting for work. Was in a king bedroom Pros: -It's decorated very nicely and very modern. I would want my condo to look like this -the common areas like the patio is really nice -nice amenities like a cotton swab, bathrobe, coffee in the room Cons: -internet is really bad. If I was working in my room, I would probably have trouble taking zoom calls -no outlets near the bed. The only outlets I could find were near the desk away from the bed -not a lot of stuff around the area if you wanted to go eat or grab a snack or get stuff -single king bedroom is very tiny -really loud. I could almost make out every word someone was saying on a phone call they were having in the morning if I was concentrating on what they were saying. Maybe the person was loud but I could hear doors slamming as well very loudly

Yelp
My husband and I decided to get away for the night to celebrate our anniversary. We chose the Park James Hotel. I'm glad we did because the hotel did not disappoint. Checking in was quick and easy. We were given chilled bottles of water as well. The hotel itself is chic and luxurious. The room was upscale with top notch amenities. We were pleasantly surprised by the bottle of champagne that was delivered to our room, compliments of the General Manager, just because I mentioned it was our anniversary at check in. I recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to get away, even if it's for one night. Great hotel, great staff and even better customer service! We will be returning for sure!

Luke D.

Yelp
I'm from the area and drove up from LA to visit family in Menlo and was arriving past midnight so I didn't want to wake up my uncle thus I called from Gilroy to book the night. I was told she didn't know if there were rooms available that I had to go to the web site. I questioned her and she was adamant. I pulled over and booked and received a confirmation number. I pulled up and a youngish girl and older guy were chatting at reception. The older guy said "Oh did you book the room" I said yes and that that's what I was told to do. The young girl said "Oh we don't have any rooms but I can call around maybe next door for you." I recognized her voice as the person who told me to book through the internet. Neither of them once said they were sorry or showed any sense of remorse. They were defiant repeating "I said I would call around for you for a room elsewhere." I emailed the hotel and left names and details and got an email back that informed me they would be happy to speak with me about my experience. Its on a busy corner, without a pool, heard the food is expensive and so-so at best. One of the worse hotel experiences I have ever had in my life. I was looking for a good nights sleep and what I got was a bad attitude both in the reception area and in the email that followed. Here's what I received: Your reservation is confirmed! Confirmation Code 130541 Guest Name Arrival Date Departure Date Room Type Nightly Rate 130541 September 10, 2022 September 11, 2022 Superior King Room 9/10/22 - USD 355.00

Yelp
Convenient location for the Peninsula. Quiet rooms. Nice restaurant and patio. I've stayed several times and will keep coming back when in the area

Yelp
Good upscale place with modern rooms in a nice location. Would stay here again no problem.

Samantha G.

Yelp
We have the most amazing experience! The staff were so friendly and kind! The manager himself was working the front desk and later saw us at the bar and said hello! The bar was amazing too! The room was clean, nicely decorated the bathroom was big and we had the most comfortable bed. We will definitely be back

Jessica K.

Yelp
Stayed at this hotel while in town for a friend's wedding weekend. Upon walking in, one immediately takes note of the unique ambiance and decor. It's a very "instagram worthy" hotel for sure. From the lobby area decorated by a flower wall to a outdoor bar that opens into a scenic patio, the aesthetics of this place are on point. The hotel rooms themselves also carry the same appeal with trendy, yet modern furniture and specialty coffee, giving it a very unique feel. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is that while the gym was also abiding by the same eco friendly, chic standards, it was not stocked well. There were no free weights and the only cardio machines were two eco friendly treadmills that are powered by the individual and a bike.

Chuck W.

Yelp
Super disappointing hotel. Look the rooms are fine and modern but that's it. The internet was horrible, like unable to work bad. There is no breakfast. The hotel Is a ghost town until the restaurant opens for dinner, no coffee nothing. Just seems like a place you shouldn't stay for work sorry to say.

Yelp
I love weekend staycations! When I heard about the opening of Park James Hotel, a new posh boutique hotel that's also dog friendly, I knew a visit was in order. I found a great rate online for their second opening week and booked a Superior King Room. However, after talking with concierge who told me the suite was 3x bigger, I decided to upgrade to the King Suite for an extra $100. No regrets! I'm SO glad I upgraded... (+) Welcoming, friendly staff. (+) Posh, modern, and luxury accommodations. (+) The King Suite was large and well-appointed with a gorgeous ornate chandelier, large 65 inch screen tv, plushy leather chairs, Frette linens, courtyard view, and separate closet and wet bar area. (+) Love that they provide Davines toiletries, a family-owned company that produces high end, sustainable hair and body products. It's very lightly scented and leaves your hair so soft. (+) Large shower with good temperature and water pressure. (+) Complimentary pastries in the morning (starting at 7 am). I didn't try since I'm intermittent fasting but who doesn't love free food?! (+) Great craft cocktails and pretty good tapas at their hotel restaurant, Oak + Violet (review to come). Love the beautiful courtyard with fire pits. It was cracking on a Saturday night. (+) On site spa with in-room massage available. I didn't know they offered spa services until I was browsing through their iPad but next time I will. A 1 hour Swedish Massage for $120 is fair for an upscale hotel. (+) Dog-friendly!!!! Kindly consider offering dog bowls, dog bed, and/or dog treats for furguests. (-) All suites only have a Murphy (pull out) bed which was cute but the mattress wasn't comfy. Minus 1 star. (-) Weak and spotty WiFi, it ranged from 1-2 bars in my room. There's an iPad for room service, cleaning, etc and it took several tries to submit a request. Other notes: *$25 valet (request your car through iPad). I easily found street parking around the corner. *No Q-tips or cotton balls so bring your own. I enjoyed my stay at James Park Hotel and despite just being open for only 2 weeks, they're running pretty smoothly. I usually stay at Nobu The Epiphany or Garden Court Hotel in Downtown Palo Alto but will definitely add James Park Hotel to my weekend staycation rotation in Silicon Valley!

Tricia Y.

Yelp
Walked in hoping to sit at the bar. This was our first time here because they just recently opened and we thought we would try it out. The bar was a disappointment because it's very bright and not DM and cozy and also only has about 6 to 7 seats. So we opted to sit outside even though it was raining. The outside chairs are very very comfortable. I'm quite short at 5'2" and I could manage to get up on the barstools. A plus! They are wide enough for my derrière. Very important! The bar top is made of beautiful one solid piece of wood. Very nice. Connor was wonderful and immediately came with the menu for drinks. I had a paper plane and my friend had a Manhattan. We were waiting for her husband. I also noticed that the napkins are 100% cotton weave made in Italy. A very nice touch. I abhor the polyester ones that slip right off your lap. Connor was a fantastic waiter while we were outside. We had a longer wait than usual to sit at the "chef's table" so they finally sat us at a small round table nearby which was very suitable. Oysters on the half shell were very good and served with a cocktail sauce and a vinaigrette Our main course was the poached salmon with quinoa and purée. Some sweet little chips were on top. The two of us ordered the salmon and we were not disappointed. It was extremely tender and flaky. I have never had a better poached salmon in my entire life. Poached salmon can be quite bland but with the seasonings and garnishes it was out of this world. And my other friend had the beet salad which was also very delicious and unusually prepared. We preferred cocktails to wine. The service was very attentive. Our water glasses were always filled up and the host came around to ask how we were. They are very concerned with their appearance and reputation being a brand new establishment. They have put a lot of money into making it a very tasteful and quality restaurant. I would like to point out that the valet will take your car and it's free parking for the first three hours which is plenty of time to eat. Henry the valet was very nice as well. Our indoor waiter, Rudy, seems to make his position a career and it shows. He knew just what to bring and what to say.At the end we had the yogurt with lemon on top, the salted Caramell putting, and the chocolate putting plus some cookies. We went out very very happy. I can't say enough good things about this place and also the bathroom is gorgeous. Real wash cloth to dry your hands with instead of paper towels. There is very stiff competition in Palo Alto, Menlo Park and Redwood City for good restaurants.Reed, the manager, was very attentive and helpful and took the time to shake our hands and asked how we enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be back. The seating was very comfortable, the lighting was ambient, the staff very friendly and professional, and the food was five stars. Not bad for just a grand opening a few weeks ago.

Rae L.

Yelp
Upon our unexpected late arrival we were warmly greeted by Ryan. This guy was on it immediately! We were so impressed at our first impression of this hotel. The beautifully decorated room was sparkling clean which means a lot during Covid. This room's high tech devices made us want to go home and update to a smart home. The robes and new slippers were easy to slip into after a long drive followed by sipping our complimentary bottle of wine that was delivered to our room in a fresh bucket of ice. Perfect ending to a almost crappy Friday night. Small details are what counts. Definitely recommend this hotel, we may even add on a night! Thanks again Ryan!

Jennifer A.

Yelp
This place is my new go-to. Have brought 3 sets of friends here -all gush. The hospitality is over the top - Sarah, Phillipe and Lyle are wonderful. 'More than that - the cocktails, carrots, brussel sprouts, cheese platter, shrimp salad and cheesecake are delicious. Will never return to rosewood.

Peanut K.

Yelp
Very unprofessional staff. This hotel is run by untrained staff who sit around looking at their phones rather than attending to the customers. It is also on a very busy street, so you hear cars driving by all night long.

Ally F.

Yelp
I had a no show charge this weekend . I called and talked to Lyle. He said I had an original confirmation in May sent to me. I understand that was 5 months ago. With Covid and illnesses I cancelled trips. This one included. Honest mistake. I did not ever get a recent notification from them about an upcoming trip with them at the Park James. They would not work with me . They said they would rather lose me as a customer than have me come at another time. Lyle's exact words.

Sybille K.

Yelp
It looks like a nice, fancy hotel, but the management totally disregards the safety of bicyclists on Glenwood Ave. in Menlo Park. After many complaints they leave a large trash container, and at times also a large recycle container, in the bike lane, forcing bicyclists into this busy street. Do NOT patronize this place till they care more about their fellow human beings!

Cassidy P.

Yelp
Park James absolutely saved the day for us! Experienced a more than 24 hour power outage at home and the hotel took us in immediately for the night. I've stayed here before and it never disappoints! Clean rooms, amazing decor and wonderful service. We would absolutely stay here again, even though we are local!

Tiffany L.

Yelp
My husband and I really liked this hotel... except for a couple things. 1. The AC in our room took forever to work. When we arrived, our room was 80 degrees. We changed the thermostat, waited, still hot. Called down and they said to wait ten more minutes - no change. They came to check the temp of the vent and it was cooling - just would take a lot longer to cool down the whole room. This was an issue throughout the weekend, but we found that once we were in bed, that's when the ac finally started to work well. 2. Hotel is valet only, but valet stand is only there during oak+violet hours. So if you're arriving or leaving, it's harder to get your car. Front desk also didn't seem to be manned at all times.. so that made it harder. The manager (?) was working the front desk and retrieving/parking cars at the same time. 3. Fire alarm went off at 12:30am. It was quick (apparently their system malfunctioned), but it was long enough to wake up and scare my 3 month old baby, who ended up crying/screaming, and shaking. Overall this is a beautiful hotel. All employees have been amazing. Price was good, quality of the room was good.

Yelp
Park James is the most perfect getaway for a staycation! I needed a weekend away to reset and fell in love with this hotel. Each room is equipped with a Fellow EKG Kettle, pour over coffee set, and Ritual Coffee. I'm not much of a coffee person myself, but was able to brew loose leaf tea and matcha I brought with me. The bed and linen are just divine. The aesthetic and ambiance is upscale and luxe with incredible leather/industrial accents. We intended to stay for the weekend but loved it so much that we kept extending through the week. Lina is just magical, we had the most incredible experience with her - she truly goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and cared for. Her warmth and ability to connect with people is amazing and very much appreciated. Her level of intention and attention to detail is one of the reasons why we kept extending our stay :) If you plan on staying here, call the hotel directly for their current rates and packages. I originally booked through Hotel Tonight which seemed cheaper at the time but ended up costing more because their rate doesn't include the hotel's overnight valet rate. As we extended three more nights, we ended up booking directly with the hotel with one of their amazing packages (Sicilian Nights) that included a $75 food and beverage voucher for Oak + Violet (that can be applied to room service) and complimentary parking. We'll book directly with the hotel from now on. They will even match Expedia prices to ensure you get the very best deal. We are forever fans and look forward to many more staycations here! Lina is the real MVP!

Yelp
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! This is a great hotel, but I want to make special mention of the bar. I've drank and dined there twice and both times have been really wonderful experiences. The bar have an extensive list of liquors, multiple quality signature cocktails, and the bartenders are extremely skilled and knowledgeable at their craft. They are also super friendly and a lot of fun; Sarah and Sarah behind the bar are fantastic and added to the enjoyment of my friends and I during my most recent experience there. Also of not is the food; both the appetizers and entrees are amazing. I'm especially fond of the mini lobster tacos and the duck. DELICIOUS.

Thomas B.

Yelp
I had a lovely stay here courtesy of HotelTonight. The room and hotel were well designed and the associated restaurant provides solid fare along with excellent cocktails. This would be my preferred hotel in Menlo Park/South Bay.

Yelp
Stayed here with the hubby for a weekend trip and was not disappointed. The room was gorgeous and clean with an upscale feel. While we did not eat at the restaurant we did try their signature drink the sea breeze which was beyond amazing! The staff is very accommodating specifically manager Josh and new hirer Tyler who went above and beyond to get us checked in. We will definitely return.

Yelp
All I can say is that the room is pretty good but the door in the restroom is gross. I have to go back here one of these days.

Yelp
Looking for a New Years Eve plan isn't easy. In the middle of the night just days before, at 2am, I called the Park James... and Ryan picked up. He was so friendly on the other line, honest about the environment and vibe, and really helpful to make sure all my questions were answered. Ryan's earnest attitude made a personal connection that night, and I booked the room for my New Years Eve into 2020. The Hotel exceeded my expectations. Throughout the hotel, the design was thoughtful and contemporary. Hip, but cozy. When I arrived, I met Ryan and he remembered our phone call! How nice of him to be so attentive to his guests. I felt very welcomed by the other staff, Eric and Lena as well! My friend and I did the special New Year's Prix Fix dinner at Oak & Violet, and boy was it delicious! Oyster, Parsnip Soup, Mushroom Risotto, Caprinha Sorbet! I am Vegan, so when I saw their menu could do a Vegan Option I was very excited! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU! This is not common in the Bay Area for a fine dining experience. The morning we left we woke up to making our own pour-over coffee in the hotel room! Such a treat. I have never seen this in a hotel room before, and it was a wonderful touch to a relaxing morning. After I checked out, I realized I left something behind. I called, and Eric held it for me until I could pick it up later that week. When I stopped in, Eric gave me a Coffee while I waited. These little touches really show how this hotel goes above and beyond for their guests. This is an exceptional place to stay- attentive staff, stunning boutique design, and a quality restaurant. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I booked this hotel by chance when I needed to come out to PA for work and boy, am I glad I did! Every detail of this hotel is so well thought out. Not only is everything functional, it's also beautiful and totally Insta-worthy. AND it's dog-friendly! Does it get any better?! Each morning there is a delicious spread of pastries and beverages (including some really good coffee) available for guests. Inside your room, you'll find full size toiletries (amazing!) such as hand soap, lotion, body wash, and shampoo/conditioner. You'll also find a fully stocked mini fridge and some great snack options should you choose to spend a small fortune on any of those items. The room is very high tech with features such as motion sensored lights- including one inside the closet- and a tablet that welcomes you by name and allows you to order room service as well as a variety of other in-room options. Perhaps my absolute favorite part of my stay was the attention to detail. Everything from the water bottles to the bath robe to the sheets to the throw blanket are engraved with the hotel's initials, PJ. And please don't miss out on the robe because it's the most comfortable hotel robe I've ever experienced. I am actually looking forward to my next work trip out here so I can book another stay at Park James. I hope the weather is warmer next time so I can experience their pool area.

Yelp
(Just for Oak and Violet): A really lovely, relaxing way to spend a few hours after work or for dinner. The hotel staff are very welcoming and friendly, the menu is varied and inventive, and the cocktails are delicious. I work nearby so came for a drink with a friend; we really enjoyed the vibe so went back for dinner a couple of weeks later. The food was excellent (there are many light options and also hearty, quality burgers and more substantial dishes). Wine list is good, sparkling wines particularly so. A great addition to the area, go and check it out if you haven't already :)

Yelp
This hotel is so close to being upscale but unfortunately the execution is all wrong. I've only been here one night and it's not worth it. I wish I would've booked the Stanford Park Hotel. Much better. I ordered room service on their room tablet, after I followed up to make sure they received my order, I was placed on hold and then hung up on. I called back 10 min later and the lady apologized. They had a hiccup and never received my order. I was gone the entire day from 7am to 8pm. When I got back, the bed was made but the bathroom and towels on the floor weren't replaced and my coffee filter was in the toilet. (Please see pics). I did not leave it there. Unfortunately, for the price I do expect good service and a clean room, which is not what I received. There were little details as well, like the last guest's room key envelope and a used notepad that was left in the room.

Yelp
Just spent two nights here for an event. The staff was amazing and treated us so well. The courtyard was gorgeous and I slept like a rock both nights. Wish I could give them 6 stars

Yelp
I recently booked at the Park James for the first time. I did so because it is close to my family and friends in the area and in walking distance of downtown Menlo Park. I have to say that from my arrival until I departed, my experience at the Park James was excellent! Lina gave me a very warm welcome after Renz also gave a nice warm welcome when we arrived. I do not recall the name but the gentleman who was there the following morning for our check out was also very courteous and welcoming. The guest room was beautifully appointed and the entire property was impeccably clean. Another highlight is that we really appreciated the outstanding location where we could walk to downtown Menlo Park's many offerings. We will return to the Park James on future trips to the area and highly recommend this outstanding hotel to any future guests.

Yelp
I stayed there three days and loved it. It's perfectly located, and the food of the restaurant is delicious. The rooms are cute and very comfortable. Everything is brand new and very clean. The bathroom also is wonderful. But what makes this hotel so special, is how kind and professional the staff is. The lady at the breakfast simply is the nicest human being ever. Everybody paid attention to us and was so on top of everything. The outdoor patio is also really cool to just have a drink or eat. I highly recommend this little hotel in Menlo Park.

Yelp
The property and the rooms are excellent. The staff are very attentive to their guests. Rooms are brand new, Decour is gorgeous and the beds are super comfortable. This is definitely a great choice if you choose to stay in the Silicon Valley Peninsula area

Yelp
LOVE this place! I had my parents stay here for the holiday week, such a wonderful neighborhood addition this boutique hotel. My parents had a fabulous stay and visit with us, thank you Park James! Everything from the moment you walk into the hotel - love the outdoor heated lounge/patio and bar, they did an amazing job with the beautiful plantings and 'green' wall, such an oasis! ... to the gorgeous room and bath to the comfy bed, linens and lovely touches, very quiet room. They also loved the delicious (free!) breakfast, amazing baked treats and more. I would have them book here again, really thrilled to have a nice local place for them to stay!
