This is a fancy pizza place known for its variety of toppings. The obvious comparison is to nearby EVO, which also offers many unconventional choices. This place does not have indoor seating of any description, though there are a couple of tables outside and Charleston weather makes this an appealing option on many evenings. There were many interesting toppings, though I was a bit surprised at the relative lack of nuts, beans, and greens. I had no trouble making an interesting and vegetarian pizza however.
My experiment started with a black bean spread for a base, with regular mozzarella cheese and pimento, plus a couple of vegetables. I think they messed my order up because I asked for sundried tomatoes and I didn't find any, but my cherry peppers and spinach were good enough and I didn't miss them. I got a regular tomato sauce on the side in case the black bean spread didn't cut it, but honestly, unlike EVO, the unconventional pizza sauce was better than the standard and I really didn't need it. In fact, the combination of black bean and pimento flavors in particular was quite intoxicating-craveably good one might say. My water consumption afterwards suggests that they overdid it with the salt; as is usually the case, I think they could cut that back a bit and still be fine on taste.
They don't seem to offer online ordering, and trying to get takeout and precisely spell out all those toppings either over the phone or in person in a cramped and loud store is a bit of a hassle. But they delivered an intriguing and unique flavor profile that I would be happy to try again.
