Street eats, bubble tea & games in an energetic restaurant inspired by Taiwanese night markets.
"We had high hopes for this second location of a Flushing spot inspired by Taiwanese night markets with arcade games and street food. We imagined a cavernous space near Union Square, where we’d spend a whirlwind evening drinking bubble tea and winning prizes with reckless abandon. In reality, Partea is about the size of a pediatrician’s office, with a counter where you order snacky fried food, and a modest collection of claw games in the back. The claw games are as annoyingly hard here as anywhere else, but if you do stumble in for some reason (it’s open until midnight most days), drown any plushy-related sorrows in a crispy fried chicken sandwich. It's dripping in soy garlic sauce, and tastes even better than winning a plushy. " - Willa Moore
"Flushing Taiwanese night market-style spot Playdate." - Tanay Warerkar
"Playdate is inspired by the night markets of Taiwan, offering a mix of street food like braised skewers paired with arcade games. The restaurant's food section includes meats and vegetables braised in a soup with 13 different herbs and spices, as well as fried chicken and bubble tea beverages. The arcade section is currently closed due to state guidelines." - Caroline Shin
"A restaurant with arcade games and Taiwanese night market fare has opened for business in a storefront formerly occupied by international bubble tea chain Mi Tea. Though the arcade portion of Playdate is temporarily on-hold due to the pandemic, the restaurant is serving braised meat and vegetable skewers, along with chicken wings and crispy chicken sandwiches." - Eater Staff
