"Homemade pasta has been the star at this Cal-Italian Half Moon Bay mainstay for over 30 years. So set your sights on handsome Sicilian sausage lasagna and pappardelle with pancetta, tomato cream, and wild mushrooms. But don’t overlook the pancetta-flecked New England-style clam chowder, which is among the best in town. Bring someone for an upscale night out, even if they’re gluten-free—the restaurant makes gluten-free bread, pasta, and pizza." - Gabi Moskowitz

"Whenever you need a break from the fish and burgers, head to Pasta Moon, a sweet Italian American spot that’s been putting out pizza, pasta, and pork chops for more than 30 years. Chef-owner Kim Levin has always loved the fruit and vegetable stands that dot the coastal highway and has close relationships with local farms." - Dianne de Guzman, Momo Chang

"One of Half Moon Bay’s most popular restaurants, Pasta Moon is always packed to the gills with locals and tourists filling up on massive portions of hearty Italian-American fare. With its vaulted ceilings, open kitchen and multiple dining rooms, including one with views of the Pilarcitos Creek and lush garden, it's a hit among all ages.Recognized by Slow Food U.S.A., expect artisanal products like the house-made pastas that steal the show, with tempting options like the spaghetti with a luscious puttanesca sauce brimming with seafood and just a hint of heat. Thin-crust pizza Margherita with its garlic-kissed tomato sauce is a delight, but oh that mascarpone cheese cake with a chocolate cookie crust. It's bound to send you over the moon." - Michelin Inspector

All I can say is wow. The food here is so perfectly done! The fresh bread is so good. Their pasta is fresh and the sauce is amazing, very rich and flavorful. The pizza is fantastic. Service and ambiance are unbeatable, very top notch. Cocktails are strong and they have a great wine list.

Google
Excellent Italian food with lots of speciality pastas on the menu, great service and a very nice ambience. We ordered clam chowder to start with and the Shrimp Rock Pizza and Seafood pasta for main. The pizza was yummy, with an ultra thin, crispy crust and topped with avocados and shrimps….absolutely delicious ! The pasta and the chowder were also yummy. Our server was super polite and checked on us several times to make sure we have everything. Great experience!

Google
Exquisite service. They met all the expectations that you would have for fine dining. We had bruschetta, sweet corn chowder, lasagna and the eggplant parmesan. My wife also had a watermelon lemodrop, she wasnt much of a fan. She felt it was more of a watermelon flavor than lemon drop. We thought all of the food was prepared perfectly. We will come back again next time we make it to Half Moon Bay.

Google
This is really a great place for a wonderful celebration dinner. The atmosphere is great, the service friendly, and the food is absolutely amazing. Typical Italian dishes are prepared in a way you have never experienced before. Great appetizers, main courses, and desserts. A good vegetarian selection, including asking for substitutions on the non-veg dishes. The price is on the high side, but well worth the experience. Warmly recommended.

Have been twice and both times it’s been amazing. The staff is lovely too! The short rib agnolotti is unreal please never discontinue it I will cry.

Outstanding food, service, wine list, and setting. We sat outside at 5p with a heat lamp. Ordered a 2013 Italian Prinivito red wine. Gorgeous evening.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and it was great. Super delicious wine, appetizers, pasta, and desserts. The brussels sprouts appetizer is a must try. Cozy yet sophisticated atmosphere, so it is a perfect place to celebrate any occasion.

Google
Great dinner we enjoyed very much on our July 4th outing in Half Moon Bay area. Spcacious and nicely decorated. Bright and pleasant, with indoor and outdoor seats. Many local customers there. Scallop Risotto, Seafood pasta, Spicy Shrimp Pizza, and Clam Chowder that we ordered are all very tasty. I personally like much the home-made noodle, with a nicely chewy texture. Pizza and Chowder are terrific, as well. Would like to visit again.

Yelp
Made reservations on a Friday night for a celebration. This would be fitting for a special occasion type of dinner and for what you're spending at an expensive restaurant, it's not bad value for appetizers, main dishes, and a drink. Service: It was excellent, our server was very attentive and friendly Ambiance: It felt like a cozy upscale restaurant, and very modern. The corner cushion table seats aren't the most comfortable as your legs face the other person's space. Pappardelle Pancetta $34 (4.5/5): This was yummy, I can understand why this is one of their most popular pasta dishes. The wide noodles and creamy tomato sauce as you mix with the mascarpone were delicious. It contained mushrooms and pine nuts which I am a fan of. Butter squash & mascarpone ravioli $36 (3.5/5): I wouldn't recommend ordering this if you don't have a sweet tooth as it's topped with brown sugar. If you do enjoy sweeter flavor profiles and more simple dishes, this could be for you Anderson Valley grilled lamb chop $22 (4/5): This came with one lamb chop and a side of salad. The lamb was cooked perfectly tender and the sauce was pleasantly savory. The celery root I wasn't a fan of, however, the other greens and walnuts were delicious.

Yelp
Love the food! Desert was even better! Try the lasanha, pudding get the best review for deserts

Yelp
This used to be my go to dining spot in Half Moon Bay, and I'm sad to say I think it has stepped down for me. We came to eat outside on a Friday evening, and despite there only being a few occupied tables, it kept feeling like we were forgotten about (long waits between visits, we were asked by the runner if our server had come yet, etc.). The food was ok, but wasn't amazing. The soup was a very small portion, and the pizza was beyond thin crust, it felt almost like a chip. Had my partner known the crust was this style, he would have selected something else. We are happy that they have great outdoor dining space, but would change our orders on our next visit.

Daryl S.

Yelp
Love the ambience for dinner. The fresh crab linguine was absolutely fantastic. The bread not so much, very little flavor and the texture was meh. Someone else at the table got the double pork chop that looked fantastic. It was moist and very flavorful. Everyone else raved about their entree

Amy R.

Yelp
Amazing food! The homemade pasta was very good and perfectly cooked. The inside was very nice and elegant. The service was left to be desired though. Our waiter rarely came by. If it weren't for one of the runners that helped with refills and keeping our table cleared, we would've never seen anyone. I wonder if this place is mostly reservations because the hostess was whispering a lot to another team member prior to seating us and then they sat us away from everyone in front of the kitchen. The lacking service is what keeps this review from a 5 star rating. Which is a shame because all of the food was excellent.

Dan W.

Yelp
Our experience at Pasta Moon was exceptional all the way around, starting with the service. We were welcomed warmly and seated on time. Our transported South African server, with her lovely accent, walked us through the menu, and we wisely took her advice. We started with the bone marrow ravioli, which were off the charts amazing. The cara cara orange salad gave us a refreshing palate cleanser before our pappardelle with pancetta entrees. They helped us with wine selection too. And though the room was buzzing, we could easily hear our own conversation. Way to go, everyone at Pasta Moon!

David H.

Yelp
The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and grand with high A frame ceilings and wooden beams and chandeliers. The staff worked well with each other to provide good service. However, their tables for parties of 5 to 6 were U shaped booths seats and two chairs on the open end. I only saw one large table with chairs all around but hostess said it was for 8 people! The booth made it very tough to get in and out. There were smaller tables for up to four people that had chairs only. I guess they wouldn't think of combining two tables to allow all chair seating because that would disrupt their flow! The food was pretty good but not spectacular. We all loved the Pappaderlle dish but varied on the other items. The radio signal was very weak, and though they provided free WiFi, it was weak as well. I couldn't open my apps on my phone and only managed to receive the photos sent by my son's iPhone 16 but I couldn't even open the images using the WiFi

Yina M.

Yelp
Pasta moon impressed me the very first time I went there. It was so impressive that I couldn't believe it and I had to try their food three times before I write this review. Now I can confidently say, their food is consistently good and their service is warm and attentive. You can almost order everything on the menu and won't be disappointed. Yes! We have tried almost everything on the menu. Our favorites are: Fritto Mistto, Mussels, Putanesca, papadelle con pancetta, lasagna, eggplant parmesan, non-alcoholic drinks and desserts. The restaurant is very spacious and can accommodate large parties or people without reservation easily. Buon appetito!!

Yelp
Pasta Moon in Half Moon Bay is the perfect spot for our anniversary! The cozy atmosphere, delicious homemade pasta, and attentive service made it unforgettable. Highly recommend for a romantic dinner!

Yelp
lol... we were bamboozled to say the least. The $20 price listed for their parpadelle Pancetta and the "casual" vibe listed on their Yelp wasn't what we walked into hahaha my bf and I wore sweats, hoodies, and flip flops to Pasta Moon! We were seated at a table next to the man playing the GRAND PIANO and everyone around us was dressed to the nines lol. The same $20 pasta we saw on yelp was actually $35 too. Price aside... it was all yummy. OUR ORDER: -Spring spritz (non-alcoholic): 10/10 -Red Wine (?): bf liked it! -Pappardelle Pancetta: 8/10 wide noodles were a treat! delicious tomato cream sauce -Soppressata: 6/10 not a big fan of the cracker crust. toppings were too heavy for it (should've been thicker) and too salty imo -Short rib bone marrow agnolotti: 7/10 yummy; basically a bone marrow ravioli! Browned butter sauce was richhh -Chocolate hazelnut truffle cake: 9/10 basically a ferrero rocher Overall, a very posh restaurant, but I still believe it wasn't worth the splurge. It was my fault for not looking into the details beforehand lol.

Yelp
Disappointing! This used to be our go to restaurant in Half Moon Bay. Unfortunately they have poorly trained staff and they don't seem to care. Rather than write a negative review, I addressed my concerns in an email. It's been several months and I never received an acknowledgment. Looking at the negative reviews here, it does not appear that management cares. Often negative reviews receive a personal response from the owner. It seems they have no motivation to improve. Food also downhill, salad was way overdressed, temperature of deliver food was lukewarm.

Raymond Y.

Yelp
TL;DR: The perfect restaurant for when you want to go out a little more fancy, have tasty food, and a very pleasant ambiance Food is a bit pricy, but for what you get (and accounting for the fact that it's Half Moon Bay), solid value. We got the following items: - fried calamari/shrimp: quite yummy but a bit soggy. Not as much crunch as I expected, but the variety of pieces was tasty - tagliatelle with fresh jumbo prawns: very creamy and the noodles hold the sauce so well. Prawns must've been at least GMO or something (I'm joking) because they were huge and so tasty. The slices of asparagus were the perfect touch to add some color to the dish - linguine with seared hokkaido sea scallops: the scallops are TO DIE FOR!! So large and the texture was so soft and melt-in-your-mouth. I've never had scallops taste this fresh before. The linguine was also springy and you could definitely tell they were handmade. Bread crumbs were an excellent touch. I think it was a tad bit too oily for my liking though Definitely the perfect date night spot. The staff were also very nice and constantly checked in on us (and gave us all the free bread we wanted :))

Yelp
Service: I have been to Pasta Moon several times over the years at their old location. I had not been here in about 7 years and was pleasantly surprised to see that it was as good as I remembered. Food: 1. Frito Misto: Some unique items included in this one shrimp, calamari, onions, olives, and lemon slices 2. Sausage Pizza: my daughter ordered this as her entree, it's more like a cracker-bread then a pizza, and she didn't care for the seasoning on the sausage itself 3. Lasagna, this might be the best thing I have had there, multiple thin sheets of lasagna dough, with perfect proportion of cheese/sauce, so big I could have easily shared, brought home for lunch the next day 4. Spinach Ricotta Tortellini: Perfectly cooked, tender pasta with great sauce and tortellini ratio Ambiance: We came late at night after a photo shoot at the beach, so I can't say what the outside looks like, probably twice the size as the original location, beautiful hand-carved tables to sit at and comfortable seating, giant open-air ceilings and kitchen, which we could see the chefs cooking while we sat down.

Yelp
Had the most amazing date night dinner here, this is a great spot to celebrate a special occasion. Everything about both the interior and exterior of the restaurant was so picturesque, with so many lights and candles everywhere. The complimentary bread was so soft and lightly spiced with some herbs. We ordered the tagliatelle with fresh jumbo prawns, linguine with seared hokkaido sea scallops, and fritto misto (fried calamari and shrimp). Such generous portions of each, we couldn't finish between 2 people. Both the scallops and prawns were so perfectly cooked and tender. The tagliatelle was a cream sauce pasta with asparagus and proscuitto, and the linguine was an olive oil and garlic pasta with chili flakes and bread crumbs. I loved how the two dishes balanced each other out and would definitely order both again. You can definitely tell that the pasta is super fresh and homemade, it had the perfect chewy texture. Such friendly and welcoming staff, they really made sure we had a great meal and I highly recommend this restaurant, definitely will be back!

Yelp
The restaurant has a classy interior with a vintage charm and sophisticated, timeless appeal. Definitely upscale for HMB. Food was tasty. I don't have complaints. The Brussel sprouts are no longer on the menu, so we ended up getting burrata bruschetta (4/5) can't go wrong with bruschetta. Could have used a little more garlic and basil. Pappardelle pancetta (4.5/5): wide noodles were tasty. The sauce was a good blend of tangy, creamy, and savory. Mushrooms were an excellent savory addition. Butternut squash and mascarpone ravioli (4/5): brown butter sage was delicious. Overall delightful dish. Service was a little standoffish. We wanted more of the complimentary rosemary focaccia but the way she responded made me feel like we were taking advantage of the restaurant. We would've bought more if it was available on the menu... but it happened to be a complimentary offering.

Yelp
We had been here about a year ago when visiting town and absolutely loved it. This time my boyfriend made a reservation to celebrate my completing the bar exam. We had to wait 20min past our reservation time before our table was ready for us to be seated. When shown to our table, it was smack in the middle of a walkway to the semi-patio area. I asked if there were any other tables and was told that was the only table they had. After we settled in, we noticed a couple available tables that they did not offer us. My boyfriend took the seat closest to the walkway and was bonked and run into a handful of times. Why even put a table there? And then seat patrons who have reservations there?! Terrible. When our waiter finally came by to take our order, I had to ask him to please bring the bread and olive oil first. We ordered the beat salad which was fine, but small and unmemorable. The pork belly was confusing. Not sure why the plums were even in it. They completely clashed with the rest of the dish. Maybe if the pork belly had been cooked in some sort of plum sauce it would have worked better, but it was just a very confusing clashing of flavors that did not blend together well at all. Almost feels like the chefs don't taste the food they're putting out. The peach and prosciutto pizza was super crispy on the crust and super soggy in the middle. It definitely held its shape better a year ago. So disappointing. After that we ordered pasta dishes, but before the pastas even came out, a bus-girl started clearing all the sliver wear and plates from our table. I had to tell the same person at least 3 times throughout the night that we were not done with the bread and that we were still waiting on food. My boyfriend ordered the pappardelle, which was pretty tasty, but definitely needed more pancetta. There were only a few chunks in the entire dish. I ordered the spinach tortellini. I was disappointed to see there were only 5 pieces of tortellini on the dish that was nearly $40. While eating it, I chomped down on something hard that we found out later was a lemon seed. By then I had lost my appetite. The manager came over and comped the tortellini. I let her know that was kind of the last straw for us for the evening. The waitstaff were bustling around super quickly, but rarely checked in. I let her know about the reservation and the delay in seating as well as the bread and olive oil issue. The manager apologized profusely and took the tortellini off the bill and also insisted on providing a mascarpone cheesecake on the house. I will say the cheesecake was very delicious (and there were no lemon seeds in it, yay!). Overall, we were super excited to be going back here when the evening started and by the end of the night we just couldn't wait to leave. It seems like they are not well equipped to handle a weekend dinner rush and the quality and service plummets during peek hours. Not sure if or when we will be back.

Therese K.

Yelp
Pasta Moon has been a favorite of our family for years. Service is always on point. Recently had dinner on a weeknight with long time friends and family. The dining space is modern and elegant. Date night or a friends night out Pasta Moon is on the top of our list.

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
In one word: YUM! In many words, this place was absolutely delicious and we will definitely be back and recommend highly to others. We came here for our one year wedding anniversary. On OpenTable when you're booking a reservation, it asks and I checked the box for anniversary. When we got there, they had a hand written card for us. Everyone from the hostess to the waiter wished us a happy anniversary. Not super important, but what a nice touch. The bread was really good. They give a homemade rosemary bread...I want to say maybe a wheat...but it is absolutely devine. Very well flavored and super soft and moist. I ordered the Bubbles & Berries for my cocktail which was very good. I then had a glass of wine, which was also a good one and recommended by our waiter. My husband got the Blue Ocean beer on draft because we went there the day prior and had such a great experience. Good choice of drink options. For dinner, we actually both ordered the pappardelle Pancetta. We both absolutely loved it. I had some leftovers that I took home, and it was just as good the next day. The pasta was made in-house and that was very apparent. So delicious and very fresh. The sauce and mushrooms on top were scrumptious as well. The only thing I will say is that our service could have been better being that this is a higher end restaurant, but we also felt like maybe he was leaving us alone because it was our anniversary and he didn't want to rush us. For dessert, I had an espresso martini which was heavy on the espresso side which is my FAV when it comes to these. My husband ordered an Irish coffee and he really enjoyed that as well. The ambiance is very cute. Perfectly lit. Good use of space. We will be back!

Cindy F.

Yelp
I can totally see why this place is a fan favorite in Half Moon Bay! It has an extensive menu from pastas to pizza to the meats. We got their must try Pappardellle and it did not disappoint. It didn't wow me though but pastas are hard to wow. The sausage pizza was tasty as well - especially love the thin crust - so thin it was like a cracker! Cioppino was very fresh as well though a bit more on the expensive side.

Jonida S.

Yelp
At Pasta Moon, the ambiance is a modern and refined Italian dining experience. Light blue water glasses, large art, open kitchen. The food is a delightful mix of fresh, local creative dishes. Burrata Bruschetta was filled with ripe cherry tomatoes bursting at the seams. It comes with two generous pieces. Butternut Squash & Mascarpone Ravioli is sweet and buttery. The pasta is tender. The filling was a bit sweet for my taste, but worth trying with a large group. Service is attentive and friendly, with staff eager to make your meal memorable. If you are looking for a hidden gem, Pasta Moon is a top choice!

Shelby S.

Yelp
This place had some mixed reviews and I was pretty disappointed in what happened when we were there. first impression is that the restaurant is super nice, clean, and tasteful in decor. Everything was okah other than that hazelnut cake was too rich and felt like I was eating a huge see's candy with nothing to cut the richness other than a dainty strawberry and dollop of whipped cream. Also, we ordered a Caesar salad, which never came and every other table got one before us lol the server seem like he knew, but didn't want to mention he forgot to bring out the Caesar salad. The best thing probably was the chowder and the lasagna, but I wouldn't order the lasagna again because it wasn't anything special, it was very strange because usually Box your food up for you to go, and the bus boy came to box our food up then our server came and told him to put it down and not to do it so we had a box her own food, which is the weirdest thing. I felt like the whole night our server was treating us, as if we didn't belong there. This was probably the worst service I've ever gotten and I'm very disappointed because I was excited to try the food, especially for establishment that has been part of the community for 38 years supposedly said by the server who was super rude.

Lena L.

Yelp
Great ambiance, food was also good. Service was standard and we were thankfully seated fairly quickly without reservation. However: I am confused why I bit into a rock while eating a slice of their House Sausage Pizza. I didn't raise this to our server at the time, who I'm sure would have taken care of it well. But I can't say the added solid minerals were a welcome texture. Overall, alright experience.

Steffan A.

Yelp
This lasagna was HUGE. About the size of two iPhone 13s next to each other, height was probably the length of an iPhone 13. Definitely enough for 2 people (though I finished it by myself lol). Never heard of this spot before but went here with 10 others for an early Christmas dinner with family. Service was awesome, Maria is great. Everyone cleared the plates whenever they'd stack up. The restaurant was fairly spacious, a few spots throughout for tables of 2 to sit next to each other for a more intimate meal. They have a separate area for parties and it looked like the partitions throughout the restaurant would allow them to host much larger parties. My wife had this marshmallow lemon dessert thing idk what it's called but MAN THAT WAS AWESOME. Fluffy and tart. Will definitely come back again!

Lisa Y.

Yelp
What a great find in Half Moon Bay! This is definitely a beautiful restaurant that's great for having a nice meal or celebrating something special. They have their own parking lot, and we were able to find a spot right away. After checking in for our reservation, we were seated immediately. They have a pretty extensive cocktail, beer, and wine menu, but I love that they also offer non-alcoholic beverages. I started off with a Dragon Fruit Mocktail that had dragon fruit puree, coconut cream, mint syrup, lime, and sprite and was a striking, vibrant pink color! Such a fun drink. Our server offered us bread with olive oil and vinegar while we waited for our meal. Started off with a Fried Artichoke Salad, which was incredible! Since I was sharing this dish, they even split it on two different plates for us without us asking. I really loved both of our entrees! The restaurant is called Pasta Moon, so of course we had to order pasta dishes! We got a tomato-based and a cream-based pasta for some variety. The Pappardelle Pancetta had pancetta, wild mushrooms, tomato cream, pine nuts, mascarpone, and basil. I'm salivating just thinking about this one! The texture of the pasta was great, and I enjoyed the different textures from the pancetta, pine nuts, and mushrooms. The other pasta we got had Dry boat scallops, prosciutto, asparagus, and basil in a cream sauce. These are some of my favorite ingredients in general, so I knew that thrown together in a pasta would make it the perfect one for me! Really enjoyed this one as well. Highly recommend stopping here when you're in Half Moon Bay!

Yelp
This is a great Italian restaurant when visiting Half Moon Bay. I love the interior decor with wooden beams and string lights wrapped around the ceiling making it look like a galaxy. Everything is clean and spotless. The food overall, was a high B+ to me. Our favorite dish was the Pappardelle Pancetta. The creamy tomato sauce was on point with the chunks of pancetta and wild mushroom. The pasta noodle was authenticated made and tasted delicious. The clam chowder is good but nothing shocking. We weren't fans of their house made sausage pizza. I thought the sausage had too much spice flavor of cardamom?! The pizza itself was too doughy and cheesy; not our type. The Fritto Misto (calamari) was just ok as well; it was kind of cold and tasted regular. Overall, this is still a great restaurant especially for the ambiance. Next time, I'll come back for the pasta and maybe a salad! My Video Review: IG: @theprominentpalate

Hope D.

Yelp
My second time here and everything was fantastic. The restaurant is rustic and has a slightly modern twist to it. This time we came in a larger party and they sat us in the private room. We ordered plenty and all of it was delicious. My top favorites are the caesar salad, burrata bruschetta, and the short rib. For dessert, I'd highly recommend the mascarpone cheesecake. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Visited Pasta Moon last night & had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and greeted us right away. We started off with a couple appetizers and then got to ordering. I loved the whole vibe in the restaurant, not too loud but not too quiet. It was absolutely perfect. Our waiter was so sweet. I love how attentive he was, but also how he let us enjoy our time there and our food. We started off with the Fritto Misto & the Burrata Bruschetta. Both were absolutely delicious and I highly recommend. We then went onto the entrees. I ordered a Basil Spinach Fettuccine, but it was way too salty for me. It had chunks of cooked salmon and the salmon was just so salty. Overall the pasta itself and sauce was delicious! My friend ordered the Tagliatelle Bolognese and that was absolutely delicious! We also ordered a House Made Sausage Pizza that didn't get very far because of how full we were but my husband absolutely loved it when I got home. We ended with a nice warm apple crisp that they topped with ice cream & that was also very delicious! My favorite part about our whole experience was that I never once felt rushed. The waiter let us take our time and never pushed the bill on us or made us feel rushed. Thank you Patsa Moon for a beautiful dinner experience, we will be back!

Yelp
My wife and I celebrated our 45TH wedding anniversary earlier this week. Upon arriving we had a most delightful conversation with the Maitre d. I had made a special request and was delighted where he seated us. The atmosphere was beautiful and the wreaths stunning. We enjoyed a cocktail and our entrees. Both the Salmon Pasta and lasagna were wonderful. In fact the lasagna was the most delicious I have ever enjoyed. Definitely a "mama's " old family recipe. Desserts and coffee were excellent. I appreciated the attentiveness of the staff. After 90 minutes we ended our wonderful dinner and had another interesting conversation with the Maitre d. I wish 10 stars could he offered.

Kristy Y.

Yelp
We came for lunch and instantly loved the atmosphere inside. They have high ceilings and string lights to create an intimate setting. We got seated in their enclosed patio area next to the window. It's a great place for a date. The service was good and the food was even better. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful. We wanted to try the cobbler but didn't have room - note that it takes 15 minutes to prepare if you're thinking about having it! Also saw a small area near their wine room for private events.

Zack M.

Yelp
Went twice in two days and devoured the choppino both times as it hit the flavor profile exactly (great fish stock/white wine/tomato broth! Also probably the best frito misto I've ever eaten! Chefs and line cooks are in the zone and in no mood to play (a good sign of serious food about to be served). Service was friendly and accommodating and I'd return when in the area. Great ambiance (the first evening playlist was a club vibe and the next evening featured down tempo soul)! Cool bar area with sports in too so there's that!

Courtney H.

Yelp
Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch date at Pasta Moon. Really wanted to give it 5 stars, but we felt that for the price point some of the dishes did not have enough of a wow factor, or even lacked a little flavor. The restaurant ambiance itself was 5/5, beautiful and quaint! Burrata Bruschetta: 5/5 best thing we tried- must order! Eggplant Parmesan: 5/5 If you like eggplant, this dish was delicious; all around pretty flavorful, and a generous serving. Bolognese: 4/5, lacking flavor, not enough sauce for the pasta ratio in ours. Overall tasty though, just not 5 stars for us considering the price.

Domina V.

Yelp
The mimosas are wonderful! The calamari is the best Lasagne .... The best ever Omg , the Cheesecake is out of this world! I'm so happy that my fiancé and I had a football game to attend in the am by lunchtime we were starving. We originally wanted to try Johnny's diner but the wait was too disappointing for us. We came to Pasta Moon, we were seated right away and were able to satisfy our hunger. We got there right when they opened so there was no wait. Extremely happy we found this gem! We will try dinner soon.

Penny O.

Yelp
Excellent food, lovely building, dog friendly patio area but service out there was spotty. Very friendly staff. Bar area very charming.

Amy K.

Yelp
Pasta Moon has been our favorite for several years. We would make the trek to HMB just to have lunch/dinner here. Our all time favorites are the tagliatelle pasta and mussels. Their thin crust pizza can never go wrong as well. Interior is huge and classy. Great for family events and business alike. We always had great service as well. On our most recent trip though, we found the mussels to be extremely salty. Even with bread and fries dipping we can't have more than a few. It was so nice they gave us extra bread to dip in the broth though. It was just incredibly salty to the point we can't taste much. The scallops on the special pasta were incredibly juicy and sweet, but we found the pasta a bit oily and saltier. Another small disappointment is that one of the tagliatelle pasta came at room temp with some of the pasta cold. The other one was piping hot though. Im glad my dad had that one since he enjoyed it. The pear pizza we had was delicious. We ordered a glass of red wine but it never came with the meal. It wasn't charged so I think it just didn't get added to our order. Overall still a great meal, but it wasn't as perfect as the previous trips. We'd still come back though and will try to save room for desserts next time.

Yelp
I absolutely love this place. My boyfriend and I came here for our last anniversary and are thinking of making it an annual tradition Food: Everything we had was amazing. We shared a pear and prosciutto pizza, the tagliatelle bolognese, the pappardelle with chicken, and some drinks. The pizza had the perfect flavor combination. The pasta was the perfect chewy texture. Portions were generous so we were happily stuffed Service: above and beyond! I'd noted on our reservation that we were celebrating our anniversary, and the hostess gave us a very sweet handwritten card. our server was wonderful! she was super personable and had great recommendations Ambiance: upscale cozy! such a great vibe, we felt right at home Can't wait to come back here!

Yelp
My boyfriend & I had the most amazing time at pasta moon for the first time!! Could not recommend this place enough! The food was delicious, generously portioned & reasonably priced. The service was friendly and efficient. Overall, we left with lots of Togo boxes, full bellies & smiles on our faces. 10/10 We sat at the high top tables near the bar for dinner for my birthday. Aaron, the bartender, made an excellent martini (a sign of a great bartender) & was professional & easy to chat with. For dinner we started with the bone marrow agnolotti it was so delicious & savory. We also split the center cut pork chop stuffed with prosciutto, peaches & grilled onion. I could not recommend this dish enough & it's plenty to split between two people. The pork chop was moist & so flavor full. Aj, our lovely waiter, picked the perfect half bottle of wine to pair with the pork chop. The sides were wonderful also! We also split the bolognese pasta which was cooked perfectly & so simply delicious. I would get this for comfort food any day. We ended the night with my current dessert obsession, an affogato. Before we left, Jenny gave us some recommendations for things to try the next time we come to dine!

Yelp
Food is great. Lighting is great. Staff/Food Service are friendly and accommodating but I've got to admit it's very slow. - steak, nothing particularly special but seemed like the most popular pick. The veggies were perfectly seasoned - house made spinach fettuccine - includes smoked salmon and red onion. The pasta itself was tender and tasted great. - ciopinno with Dungeness crab. Overall tasted great, but lot of leftover sand in the clams. - tiramisu - lovely - affogato - not worth it

Yelp
Wow, I can hardly contain my excitement about this incredible restaurant! The moment I walked in, I was blown away by the stunning decor - the large mirrors, hardwood floors, and full-length windows created a breathtaking atmosphere. And the indoor patio, with its beautiful canopy, was simply enchanting! But that's not all - our server, Fabio, was terrific from start to finish. He was polite and energetic, and he had the most wonderful helper, José, who was incredibly attentive and kind. Together, they made an unbeatable team! And let's talk about the food - oh my god, it was out of this world! The Ragu was so flavorful, and the Quail was cooked to perfection - it was so moist and tender that it practically melted in my mouth. The combination of pumpkin, ricotta, and sage was a taste sensation I'll never forget. I was even brought to tears - that's how incredible it was! And the salad - while different with its warm pears and Roquefort cheese - was dressed to perfection. The quinoa wasn't my favorite, but that's just a tiny detail in an otherwise perfect meal. My husband had the rib eye with tempura onion rings, and he loved every bite. The onion rings were crispy and delicious - we wished for more! And to top it all off, we indulged in my favorite - affogato. The dessert was delightful, as it perfectly blended a spoonable dessert with a creamy coffee drink that had a blush of cream in it. Overall, it was an unforgettable dining experience that we'll discuss for years!

Yelp
Came here based on Michelin nods. But the food left us wanting. The calamari fritters (fritto misto) was decent. There was nothing lively about it. The pizza had a soggy bottom and needs improvement. The pasta was so-so and so was the service at the table.

Yelp
Not much to say other than it's ALWAYS a good meal here. They have quite an extensive list of wines as well, but if you decide to bring one yourself, corkage is $35, which is a little steep compared to most places I dine at. They also have a full bar with some yummy cocktails. Parking is easy; there is a stand-alone lot. Restaurant is HUGE with indoor and outdoor dining, but it gets busy, so reservations (via OpenTable) are highly recommended. Staff is friendly and service is always great. This restaurant is fitting for couples, families, and small or large groups. Definitely the best restaurant in town!

Yelp
This restaurant is off the beaten path in downtown half moon bay. The place looks nice and it's clean and efficiently run. That said, there are a few "cosmetic " things that are a bit run down if you look closely. The service was friendly and efficient. They came with many recommendations which we basically ignored. Maybe that was a mistake. Anyway we got the clam chowder which was served in separate bowls. But it wasn't very hot and there was almost no clam in there. They had one clam in shell on the top of the soup. The only thing I could taste was the overwhelming amount of pancetta In the soup. The lasagna was actually good due to the extremely fresh pasta inside. That said, the flavor was dominated by cheese, as we could barely taste the meat or sauce. The lasagna was actually a decent portion and we took half home for dinner.
