Simple yet memorable pasta dishes take up 95% of the tables’ real estate most nights, like the vodka fusilli with rich pork sausage or the seasonal corn raviolini that gushes with a sweet filling—no matter what you order, the pasta here is as fresh as it gets. "Chef Anthony Strong has not only installed a neighborhood pasta shop selling all shapes and styles of noodles and sauces to the Inner Richmond but he’s also opened the shop for dinner. It’s a simple menu, with about five to six rotating bowls of pasta available for under $25, using seasonal ingredients such as a recent sweet corn raviolini. "In the past year, the Bay Area has welcomed a new crop of Italian restaurants focused on affordability, and chef Anthony Strong’s Pasta Supply Co. is the best example in San Francisco. By day, it’s a retail destination for fresh pastas of all shapes and sizes, as well as sauces, cheeses, compound butter, and pantry items galore. But starting at 5 p.m., neighbors line up outside for dinner, when the kitchen team turns out twirly mafaldine with butter and cheese, salt cod “plumpers” in puttanesca sauce, or fusilli in spicy vodka tomato sauce. Almost everything costs under $20 — just be prepared for a wait since there are no reservations offered.
